I had never been to this Costco, so on our way back to Honolulu, we decided to stop by. Parking lot is pretty crazy, but inside was not bad at all. We went to the food court first and got pizza slices and warm chocolate chip cookies. I had no idea they were selling these and they were nice and gooey though sickly sweet! We wished they also sold milk. While we were eating, of course, only at Costco in Hawaii, will you see someone pull out an ukulele and start playing and singing! LOL! Again, inside they have pretty much everything like the others, but what I really love is the two refrigerator cases of Hawaiian food. Mahalo Costco!

Lunch in Waipahu, O'ahu, Hawaii... Cony and Brown wanted that special deal at the Costco Food Court: $1.50 (plus tax) for a hot dog and (self-serve) beverage. Sure! The catch is: Membership card is needed. Your Costco card will be scanned before you order! The efficient gal at the counter took my order and delivered promptly. I did have to go back and ask for the small containers of chopped onions (condiments for the hot dogs). The mustard, ketchup, and relish are at the side table, next to the beverage dispensers... along with napkins. This is an outdoor/takeout setup. The wind, birds, rain, etc. might be nuisance, but don't let them stop you from enjoying an inexpensive snack! P.S. I got a slice of pepperoni pizza for myself!

I was very excited to make this one of my first stops on vacation. I loved being able to walk up and down all the aisles and see the different things that are offered here and not in the states. Guava cheesecake, fruits, baked goods, and all of the candy and snacks! I literally brought my large suitcase so I could bring back a whole bunch of goodies. The employees weren't very friendly, but that's OK. I got my moneys worth definitely.

I can't believe I'm writing a review for Customer Service at Costco, all the years shopping here, couldn't find anyone for help. Apparently I was picking up my medication at the pharmacy, I was looking for Apple luggage tags, high and low and couldn't find it, saw a Costco worker by the Pharmacy and ask Calandria for help finding my Apple Luggage Tags. She told me to wait here and she will get it for me...5min later she returned and gave me a receipt to take to the register for my Apple Luggage Tags, she also asked if there anything else I was looking for, yes... looking for some Vitamins for my wife, Which she took me to the Isle were it was. Thank you Calandria 19 years with Costco, for your Excellent customer service. Aloha, Derek

Well, it took me all the way here to Hawaii try Turmeric... I wish I would have known more about this before! This older gentleman had samples of it at Costco today and you could tell he really believed in it. He had maps and an iPad he was quick to show me all about how I need Curcumian to my diet. Of course I knew about Turmeric, I started feeling good just like the older extremely knowledgeable man told me. Exceptional customer service and I have been to Costco in Chicago 500+ times with no one helping as well as he did! I wish I could remember his name, but I was so into picking his brain without holding up the line :)

Best staff and great selection!! It's a great location because it's not as crazy as Kapolei or Ziegler.

Soft serve Vanilla in a cup...yes. And cheap at Costco...Waikele.

Costco in Waipio is like any other Costco on Oahu. Lots of people in line before it opens, 1000, most days. Parking and lines for gas are also typical. Iwilei may be more hectic but not by much. I don't have a family so my shopping time is quick as is my checkout time. I usually utilize self-checkout but today, 10.Dec, I used the regular checkout. Not much of a line thus it was even faster. Got some Truffle Mac-n-Cheese - stove top and/or microwaveable - along with usual staples. Truffle- anything at Costco...worth a try.

Long Overdue: My First Time at Azuma's (And Why I'm Already Planning My Return)…read moreOkay, I have to be honest with you all -- I've been sleeping on Azuma's. For months, people have been telling me about their dried aku, and I kept saying "soon, soon." Well, soon finally happened, and I have nobody to blame but myself for waiting this long. Now, before I go any further -- yes, I forgot to take photos. I know. I know. But here's the thing: the moment that dried aku hit the table, all my food blogger instincts went completely out the window. It was just me and that fish, and nothing else mattered. The dried aku was everything the hype promised -- deeply savory, with that concentrated, almost smoky flavor you only get when something is made with real patience and skill. The kind of dish that makes you close your eyes after the first bite. Absolutely ono. No notes. Next time -- and there will be a next time, probably very soon -- I'm going in for the laulau. I have a feeling it's going to be just as worthy of the word-of-mouth buzz. Watch this space. Azuma's -- go. Just go.

Our washing machine recently went on the blink. We've also had our dryer for a number of years also…read moreand wouldn't have been surprised if it had gone the same way too. Okay, time to buy a washer and dryer, as major appliances these days have a short life and not worth repairing. My stress level rises, as there are limited stores that stock major appliances and need to order from the Mainland, which will take days. Until we found the Costco Wholesale Home Showroom in Pearl City, which opened on 10/11/24. It's a brick-and-mortar store that took the place of the Sears Distribution Store where you can browse in person of large furniture and equipment items. Hubby knew what he was looking for, as he tried to do his research in knowing which brands to look for because of various reasons (hard to find parts, product problems, etc.). He was looking for the Maytag brand. Costco has some special rules in selling its furniture and large appliances: * Costco Wholesale membership is required to make purchases. As soon as you enter the Showroom, you must scan your membership card against a machine. * The showroom allows for a number of large items (TVs, furniture, appliances, exercise equipment, outdoor furniture, couches, dining tables, bedroom furniture, beds, washers/dryers, refrigerators, massage chairs, credenzas, etc.) to be placed in one area to be sold. The regular Costco stores lack the space to store large furniture and equipment for its members to view them all at one time. The showroom interior is spacious, clean, and air-conditioned. * The showroom requires you to order items that are delivered with an estimated delivery date to the member's address, installed as needed, and the initial item hauled away. There may be shipping, delivery and hall-away fees. (For a washer, I was quoted a shipping fee of $29, which was nominal.) Prices appear reasonable. This contrasts with the regular Costco stores in that if you purchase a large item such as this, you haul it away on your own and dispose the initial item on your own. We often wish we could purchase large items this way; however, because we don't own a truck and are elderly, we would have to bother family members for assistance. Delivery occurred without any hitch. Costco provided the Board of Water Supply's Water Sensible Rebate Program application for completion. * The Showroom acts as an online shopping account. One could make purchases and place orders at home using a computer. The Showroom has staff to assist if needed. As hubby and I are technology challenged, we welcome the assistance of staff to ensure that we ordered correctly. Our experience with the Costco staff, Leanne and Maddy, was extremely friendly, patient and helpful. * Hours of operation differ from regular Costco Wholesale stores. The Showroom hours of operation are: Mon closed, Tues to Sat 10a to i6p, and Sun 10a to 5p. There are no Executive Member hours from 9a to 10a daily. Living on an island has its drawbacks, as there are limited stores where you can purchase furniture and major appliances. Glad that Costco has established a Showroom on Oahu that has reasonable prices and is convenient for its members to purchase these items without having to haul it away on your own and dispose of the non-working items.

The delivery team arrived approximately 40 minutes late without any notice or communication…read more Immediately upon arrival, the driver stated he was "not happy" and began arguing with me about the delivery before even making any meaningful attempt to move the refrigerator. The refrigerator was supposed to be delivered upstairs into my home, and the stairs were clearly disclosed in the delivery instructions ahead of time. One of the delivery workers stated that the refrigerator could potentially be brought upstairs, but the driver refused to even attempt the delivery. The refrigerator was never removed from the dolly, lifted, repositioned, or properly assessed for delivery. The driver repeatedly stated he was not going to move it at all and left the refrigerator sitting in my garage. During the delivery, I contacted Island Movers customer service and spoke with an employee named Cece. I found her behavior extremely disrespectful and unprofessional, as she laughed during the phone call while I was trying to resolve the situation. I was shocked by the lack of professionalism and concern shown throughout the entire ordeal. In an effort to help complete the delivery and eliminate liability concerns, I even offered to sign a waiver accepting responsibility for any possible damage to the refrigerator, floors, or property. Despite this, the driver still refused to make any attempt whatsoever to complete the delivery. I had to take time off work for this appointment, only for the delivery crew to essentially refuse service after arriving. The refrigerator is still sitting unusable in my garage due to their refusal to complete the delivery. I am extremely disappointed that Costco contracts with a company that operates in this manner.
