This is my neighborhood grocery store and I have come here for years. In fact, I remember when it first opened decades ago! Yes, I'm old. Maybe because the store is located in a smaller community, I've noticed the staff seem to be familiar with many patrons, often calling them by name. Regardless if they know their name or not, majority of the staff are really friendly and helpful. I usually don't take the time to write about a grocery store, but wanted to write this because of a really positive experience I had recently. My dog had just passed away and I was in the store to get a few items. I noticed they were marking down some flowers. Wilma was there and helped me look for some nice ones. She noticed the ones that I had picked out had some dying roses and kept saying "are you sure?" I mentioned that it was fine as I could use the other flowers and just wanted something as my dog had just passed. After I said that, I could feel immense warmth and empathy as she expressed her condolences and realized how meaningful these flowers were for me. The prepared meats and poke are second to none. The employees are some of the most helpful and courteous at any grocery store I have been to. The store is clean and well laid out. I am always impressed by the selection of local produce and offerings. From Keala, Johanan to Francine the staff makes it feel like the traditional small town market. I appreciate that hospitality when shopping for a battery to putting in an order for trays of poke. read more

I haven't walked into the Waipio Foodland in ages!!!! While waiting for my coworkers for a dinner meeting, I decided to pop into the Waipio Foodland to kill some time. Located at the Waipio Shopping Center, you can find the Foodland store, as well as a lot of other restaurant eateries, and other service oriented businesses in this shopping complex. This Foodland store appears to be a wee bit dated, but I must say the store is well organized and clean. I wasn't planning on buying anything, as I was just waiting for my coworkers to meet at a nearby restaurant, but while I was walking around within the market, I spotted one of my all time FAVORITES - Pistachio Muffins! Ummmmmmmmmmmmm! I've been a BIG FAN of Foodland's Pistachio Pudding Cake, but as of recent, I'm not sure if Foodland discontinued that product? No matter, because after finding the Pistachio Muffins, it put a BIG SMILE on my face! :D I'm so happy I walked into this Foodland to kill some time, as my short visit certainly paid off! Lol! Also if you need to do any banking, this particular Foodland store has an American Savings Bank located by the entrance area of Foodland, as you enter the store (on the right side). Welcome to Foodland Waipio. I stopped over at this location earlier in the month to cop me some HENNESSY VS BOTTLES that are the NBA 23/24 edition bottles (I was told by a friend that they had it at this location so I had to stop over n grab me some) They had them Hennessy VS bottles stored behind the counter of the customer service desk so I had to ask one of the staff to get me two bottles for myself. Glad they still had them in-stock cause out here on OAHU for some reason everyone LOVES some HENNESSY. Parking - You don't have to worry about parking at all here at Foodland lots & lots of parking and of course it's FREE PARKING Don't have to pay. Which is always BEST. Saw on my phone that Foodland was having a one day sale on King Crab Dec. 27, 24...$24.99 a Lbs. Vs. Costco $50- a Lbs. Went to Waipio around 8:30am, found my Crab...4lbs. around $100- a bag, depending on the weight. Went home and decided to go back around 10:30am to get more. This Crab is better than Japan, Which I just came back on a food and shopping Tour. Went back Mililani Store Out in one hour...Store opened at 5:30am., Waipio-Out, Went to Wahiawa 3-bags left, Got my second bag for New Years, So if you're fortunate enough to get some Crab, Enjoy celebrating New Year...Hopefully Foodland does a Holiday Special in the future. Shopping in Waipio Gentry, Oahu, Hawaii... This Foodland location is on the way to my auntie's house. There were a few items that she needed, so I took a look. The store was clean, bright, and organized! In general, I like Foodland because of their Ethnic food department, the variety of items that they carry, the fresh flowers and produce, local brands, and their Loyalty Program. I usually aim for 1000 Maika'i points before I trade them in for Hawaiian Airlines miles. I also link my account to my favorite school so they can get points, too! Foodland is also known for their poke, unique/clever tote bag designs, and service with Aloha Spirit. Kupuna discount days are Thursdays when they can get 5 percent off! That's better than nothing! Holiday Meal - Chef made Turkey meal $229. Very disappointing. Haven't bought Foodland's Thanksgiving meal for about 8 years. Had ordered from a competitor's but switched over this year. What a disappointment! The 12.5 lb turkey was sous vide so it really required more time in the oven - tho recommend was 1 hr and 45 minutes. The pulehu smoked meat stuffing - yikes - had a more burned than smoked taste. Garlic makes was ok. Gravy was separating so we had to try and save it. Brussels sprouts were ok. Pecan pumpkin pie was ok. Overall, disappointing. Even on the pick up - not all employees knew where pick up. Huh? Picked up on B Thanksgiving Day - but it seemed like they were unprepared? Anyway, wouldn't recommend this pkg. Maybe the other basic pkg was better? Unsure. I checked with another friend who purchased the same meal. And they were also underwhelmed. read more

My husband and I always stop at this location before heading to Mililani cemetery to visit my husband dad. They have a good amount of flower selection. I went to pick up some bologna on Friday night for sandwiches but was told they didn't have any. So I opted for the Genoa Salami. I like coming here to renew my car registration. They recently replaced the older finicky machine. This new machine is a bit faster and works! Only credit cards accepted with a fee, but generally no waiting. There's always an employee standing at the door who will help anyone with their registration process. After renewing my registration, I generally pick up a few items. This store is a bit dated, but appears to be clean. The shelves are neat & orderly. The employees are always friendly & the cashiers always diligently wipe the counters & credit card machine after every customer! read more

Big, big shout out to the BEST butchers & poke section workers! They are the BEST of all Foodland stores (and other grocery stores). The butchers (both young guys and slightly older one) were so helpful when I ordered our Christmas prime rib; saved me money by suggesting a better cut and also told me best way to season. Poke section workers are always pleasant and patient. The store sorely needs renovations, but as far as their butchers & poke people are, they're irreplaceable! Give them a big raise! Btw - the website for Foodland no bueno. Gotta fix that! read more

Very convenient to have them across the street from Patsy Mink park. Dropped off the kids at Practice and then right over to do a quick shopping for dinner. Ambiance is a little dark, probably cus it's been around for a while lol. But it has everything you would find at any other Foodland besides Foodland farms. Service is good. Date 4/26/25 at 4:30pmish. I went to the poke counter and pulled a number like other foodland stores. Note that the last time I visited this location I didn't pull a number and stood in line only to be told I needed to take a number which is the reason I am extremely upset about my most recent experience. I saw people in line yet I pulled a number, as I waited, I noticed the lady would just say "can I help who's next"... I waited a bit because saw others pull numbers until the the line of people ended and the counter person asked whos' s next... needless to say I asked " are you folks not using the numbers any more?" she said "no, just had people in line". Why even have the numbers in the poke department at Foodland stores? Maybe put a sign on it and take the number machine away. On top of that as I walked away she commented to the next customer "aways get one like that".... really?! She think I deaf. Nope, she said that on purpose cause she knew I was right and didn't like being called out about it. Doesn't that mean that this has happened multiple times and wasn't addessed? Who's the manager? Both employees should be spoken too. This kind of customer service does not belong in a store that quotes " food, family, fun"...Better go someplace else other than Waipio for your poke. read more

I had a poke bowl with spicy ahi. It was okay, but the texture of the ahi was not the greatest. Before making a rating I will try some of their fresh poke as the spicy ahi was from their previously frozen section. read more

Within the past few months I've gone to the Mililani Foodland's deli counter. Took garlic chicken to a lunch potluck with a bunch of health conscious ladies and they enjoyed it. Also discovered their Chef Asian potato salad, so good! Not sure if they have it anymore but Wednesday was their steak plates which were grilled in the parking lot and came with salad and a drink. It was good and tasty but now we go to BS whenever the craving strikes. This last visit I went to the Waipio Foodland to buy flowers for a very sweet and young loved one who passed. Seems like I've come here to also buy balloons in remembrance on her birthdays. It's convenient cuz it's close by to where we need to go plus there is green tea ice cream next door and flowers cost less here than C with their own tire repair and gas station. They have a maika'i reward card for savings or you can just give the cashier your phone number when she rings you up. read more

Absolutely love the spicy salmon poke. There are a lot of different sides you can find in the store or you can ask for a side of white rice. Best poke I've ever had and I have visited many different locations all over Hawaii. Service is quick just ask for the size and type of poke and they will put it in a container for you to go pay at the register. read more

Similar to Zippy's I have a love/hate relationship with Foodland. I've been going to this location since I was a baby and still remember sitting in the cart while my mom pushed me around. The love part comes from the convenience of being the only grocery store in Waipio Genty and the closest to Waikele (although that will shortly change when Safeway opens). The HATE part is that their prices are outrageous. I mean they seriously jack up the price to the point that it's gotta be like 300% or 400% profit for them, and at least twice the price of similar items at Don Quijote. Today, I saw a 3 oz container of Masago for like $8.00. Insane. The only reason that they get a second star is that they sell my favorite musubis in the entire world. Their spam, chicken, and redondos hot dog musubis are so good that they'd be my last meal selection. Like the rest of the food at Foodland, they are a bit pricey but worth it. Just make sure that you only buy/eat them within the first 2 hours of the store opening (when they are freshly prepared). As the day goes by, the rice gets harder, and is less enjoyable. read more

The fact that you could walk into a grocery store and get fresh poke from a walk in counter is amazing. I was able to get a 2 fish combo with rice for $10.99. Where i'm from in Texas, that's at least a minimum of $14-$15 and you get the bare minimum. Anything extra, you pay more. They also have hot food offering such as spam masubi, hot dog masubi, bento boxes, and many more. The spam masubi was great and finally glad I had a chance to take a bite of authentic Hawaiian made Spam Masubi. With it being a grocery store, you can also shop for many other household needs. read more

Today I got two half pound kinds of poke for my girlfriend and I to share with our homemade wonton chips for dinner :) The first one was the creamy and tasty California Roll poke. The second one was the slight spicy and creamy Wasabi Mayonnaise poke. Last but not least was the new local Hawai'i beer to try, the Ola Brew Kona Gold. With higher prices than I'm used to and availability a little lacking of some of the main items I need, it's not my fave place to shop but it sure is convenient! With deals and coupons, it isn't half bad, but their rewards system is outdated and deals harder to find. I prefer this Foodland because it's the one I grew up going to. Now an adult and life being hectic, I was relieved when Foodland offered online shopping for store pickup. With COVID, work being busy, and my home life being crazy it's been difficult to find time to go to a grocery store. I've used their online shopping three times already and each time it went by so smoothly that I felt my day went by with such ease and one less stress! Shout out to Dathan and Anjy. You guys were awesome and so friendly when coming to my car to help with my groceries even with my pup in the backseat. The quality of the foods like fruits and vegetables were top notch. My husband is picky with vegetables and their freshness but he had no complaints when I came home with our grocery order. Waipio location was also quick to let me know when an item was out of stock and offered replacements. Upon arrival, you just text them where you are parked (if the marked stalls are unavailable). Seriously so easy to use! People should use this service more often. I don't know many local companies who offer drive-up pickup, but I am so glad Waipio Foodland is one of them. On yelp, this was the closest food land to me on the way back from north shore. I'll take that. So... this store carry's way less then other stores. I had a hard time navigating through the store and had to ask multiple times for things. Even the workers didn't know where things were. I think that was the worse for me. Yes, I'm a fan of Foodland Farms! I love the spacious entrance with all the goodies and treats that you can purchase for snack or lunch. The produce section offers variety of fresh veggies and fruits in open concept. The short aisles are convenient and easy to stroll through. I feel like I'm at Whole Foods but even better because employees are much friendlier and helpful. I hope to visit here often. read more

You must make your way to a Foodland when in Hawaii. All of the food in Hawaii was amazing but very expensive. This is a great way to eat amazing healthy delish food whisk on vaca l. For 6.99 you can get a poke bowl with brown rice and more tuna than any human could possibly eat in one sitting. Tip: try them all! There were 8 different versions of Tuna poke the day we went in. I recommend the Hawaiian poke but by all means try them all first before you make a choice read more

Small for a 'supermarket,' but very conveniently located for all of us living in Waipio Gentry (or lower Mililani, if you will). Yeah, it costs more than going to Costco down the street, but at least you can get smaller sizes for the items you don't want gallon sizes of.
