They also had a really good selection of clearance and hot-and-ready food items marked down. A lot of them were under $5, which was quite the deal! I believe it's because we came in later at night, so take notes, everyone. You might find some really good markdowns if you shop later in the evening. I ended up taking home two SPAM musubis, a Zero Sugar Monster, an apron, an oven mitt, and, completely randomly, an Oreo-flavored Twix. This Foodland trip was a SUCCESS because I didn't go aisle by aisle and break the bank. I went in to grab a snack, found something cute, treated myself, and WALKED AWAY. That is growth. Also, if you're looking for cute reusable tote bags for only $1, you can find them here too! Sometimes the best Foodland trips are the quick ones where you walk out with dinner, a little treat, and something cute for yourself. Atleast that's what I'm telling myself for this trip. Foodland is the best.

It's the ones that they had when I was growing up. They have all the usually departments: produce, meat, seafood, deli, bakery and floral. I did not see a pharmacy in this store. When you walk into the store, there's a huge Halloween display along with bags of candy in the front. Judging the store by itself I would have given it two stars. However, the workers were so nice and helpful. We got help in the produce department. The woman working the self checkout thanked every customer on the way out. We conversed for a bit. Sometimes, it's not just the business itself; but the people who run it. Therefore, I had to give them four stars.

There were so many different flavors to choose from that I've never seen before. Safeway shopping trips are always fun because we get to do it late at night. They do close 2 AM to 5 AM but they open up at 5 AM which is perfect timing for us. He and I are working during the afternoon and nighttime so our schedule for grocery shopping doesn't match the usual business hours for the casual grocery stores so Safeway works for us.

I say this because upon entering it's like a food court, as first you see Teapresso Bar with full offerings of drinks you then see an insane selection of baked goods more than some small bakeries offer along with plate lunch, smoked meat, pizza and even roast pork handing under the warmer...all this before I enter the grocery sections you see graduation leis, UH merchandise and various grab and go treats as well. It's a beautiful supermarket that nice and clean very well organized with displayed items neatly placed and the vibe here is just so calm and friendly I was just very impressed with it all knowing that I can purchase items already made before entering to shop is quite deceiving and tempting but is nice to know for busy folks that they do have you covered whether you're in a rush or just need a single ingredient this is the place to go and support all things local. Thank you!

I would not recommend Times Supermarket for a poke bowl…read more The portions of both poke and rice were inconsistent, and the employees seemed unsure about how much to serve each customer. We returned our poke bowls because our portions were noticeably smaller than those given to other customers. We ultimately chose pizza instead because we were not confident we would receive a properly portioned poke bowl. Pizza was fairly priced and we enjoyed the Goomba. There is an unpleasant odor in the facility. The atmosphere was busy and casual, as expected for a supermarket, but the service at the poke counter made the experience frustrating.

Target Stores have been doing this for years. It's organized- staff are hustling around. There were a few "shoppers" (for online orders)- very focused. I'm not sure how they want me to bag items otherwise Then on exit there was a person who again checks bags. There were fundraisers right outside the door. Totally supported Leahi Soccer League

Right at the entrance, they had most of the Thanksgiving essentials displayed, which was actually really cool. And of course, I had to splurge on an Oreo house-making kit just for the fun of it. Even though they were completely sold out of turkey, we managed to grab all of our Thanksgiving sides before heading over to Safeway for the final ingredient, our big turkey. They've got great holiday items right now to splurge on so buyer beware and don't spend all your money at once! All in all, I was really grateful Walmart was still open when we went. I just wish they stayed open a little longer for us late-night shoppers! Also, they have the most charming mural at the front entrance.

They had variety musibis where they use to put tuna or ume in them which I loved eating both when my mom use to buy us for breakfast!!! Their bentos use to be very good too! I remember their rolled eggs which was my fav to eat. Over the years they added spam To it which I didn't eat because I don't eat pork anymore! Their bentos also changed too! Their chicken use to be the best on the menu now it's just a copy cat of Zippy's chicken. I don't buy their deli anymore just their poke because their poke is always better quality from other stores.

"Lucky you live Pearl City! $6 Meals!!?"…read more  Did you hear about Pearl City Foodland's $6 Specials they offer Monday - Friday?  They are the bomb!!   With the prices of everything going UP, UP, UP there's now a place you can enjoy ono food for only $6! I have 2 favorites -- Tuesday & Thursday.   I eat it practically every week and you'd never guess when you see it! Tuesday is the BBQ Bowl -- You get ypur choice of meat, rice, and a side (banchan). I always get the smoke meat with pickled onion on rice. The smoked meat has plenty smoked taste, just enough fat, and it's not tough (you know what I mean).  The pickled onion is the perfect compliment!   Love the bite and the vinegar taste -- cuts though and brings it all together!   They give you quite a bit in the bowl.  Definitely enough to make me smile!    Again ---- $6.00!!!!! Thursday is another winner in my book.   It's noodle day!!!  I used to get the Mega which had everything in it.   It was a special that they had at the beginning but it's been discontinued.  I think the only one I'm not too crazy about is the curry.   I know some like it -- but having watery curry with noodles is just not me.   The rest are pretty good.   They warm up the noodles right there and add all the goodies on top.  It's take out so they give you the hot broth in another container ---- perfect so your noodles don't get soggy!   I think it's a great 'buy and eat later' meal! I think the only negative is that sometimes the parking lot is very, very full.  If you go early it's not too bad.    The rest of the days they have kalua pig burrito, nachos, and the $6/lb food bar Friday.   With all the prices on everything going UP, UP, UP, it's so nice that we can have a good and satisfying meal for $6.00.    Thank you Foodland -- Food, Family, and Friends!!!

Also, I love that it's open and available at the time that I'm available. I will have to say that being here at 5 AM with nobody in the building but myself and probably a few associates, made it extremely cold? Or am I just not used to AC anymore? It was actually unbearably cold that I had to leave after sometime because I was getting so uncomfortable, it hurt. But then again, this is someone who used to live in Texas and needed to always have a 66° AC to someone who now lives in a space with absolutely no AC. So take this with a grain of salt. This is probably my favorite Safeway I've ever been to and I've been to several in the country during my travels. It's a shame that I only started checking in seriously this year! I highly recommend this location for good finds and for being very well organized. It makes me want to shop more. I also found some fun items in their international section that I've never seen before. I will obviously be back!
