Last week, I took my chances and got their $6 spicy ahi bento. $6 is a very good deal so I ended up buying 4 for my family. Ok, I really am curious about the 'ahi' that was served. It was all minced up and I swear there was no taste. The consistency was like, and this is kinda gross, raw hamburger, if you can imagine what raw hamburger would taste like. It looked like a legit spicy ahi bento but the taste was bad, the consistency wasn't appetizing and it just wasn't good. Kinda bummed about it because I was looking forward to a yummy dinner that Friday. What's with the Maikai label? Does Foodland really make all of the labeled items or do they just repackage it and slap their name on it? The cashiers are usually good and lines can get quite long. The parking lot can be challenging but you can find a spot. Maybe you need to park far away as it does get crowded.

Being greeted as you enter the store is a nice touch. It's a smallish store which is great for us elderly to navigate easily without being on feet too long. Nicely stocked with good variety of items despite the size of store. Love the 2 for $5 Fridays too! Lose one star as no senior or military discount. But I keep going here because I love the cashiers! All are friendly and fun- quick and efficient- especially this Caucasian lady that makes me laugh so hard! She rings it all up, lets me know if I saw the brand was on sale, while bagging everything perfectly. I go to her line just to get my laugh for the day. Store is always clean, plenty of shopping carts, and deli well stocked with a specific area for discounted items.

Target Stores have been doing this for years. It's organized- staff are hustling around. There were a few "shoppers" (for online orders)- very focused. They don't make eye contact - maybe so people like me don't ask them questions I did self checkout. I put my bag on the checkout area - which alerted the staff to come. Right at the entrance, they had most of the Thanksgiving essentials displayed, which was actually really cool. And of course, I had to splurge on an Oreo house-making kit just for the fun of it. Even though they were completely sold out of turkey, we managed to grab all of our Thanksgiving sides before heading over to Safeway for the final ingredient, our big turkey. They've got great holiday items right now to splurge on so buyer beware and don't spend all your money at once! All in all, I was really grateful Walmart was still open when we went. Regardless if they know their name or not, majority of the staff are really friendly and helpful. I usually don't take the time to write about a grocery store, but wanted to write this because of a really positive experience I had recently. My dog had just passed away and I was in the store to get a few items. I noticed they were marking down some flowers. Wilma was there and helped me look for some nice ones. She noticed the ones that I had picked out had some dying roses and kept saying "are you sure?" I mentioned that it was fine as I could use the other flowers and just wanted something as my dog had just passed. After I said that, I could feel immense warmth and empathy as she expressed her condolences and realized how meaningful these flowers were for me. Thank you, thank you Wilma for your sweetness!
