My cousin had his medication refilled at a different pharmacy which was really busy; had a crowded parking lot; and had long lines most of the time. The care home operator suggested that cousin switch to Walgreens. Ok... let's try it. We brought a handwritten prescription from cousin's PCP (primary care provider), and gave it to the pharmacist. I was afraid he wouldn't be able to read the doctor's writing, but the pharmacist knew this doctor and could interpret the scribbles. Yay! We had the current labels on the bottles of medication... just in case. After about 15 minutes, the cheerful, efficient pharmacist told us that only 1 of the 3 medications could refilled. Next time, it will be a breeze going to Walgreens instead of the other pharmacy! Thank you!

To make matters worse, the pharmacy worker did not want to help me get my covid booster. The pharmacist stepped in and told her to add me as a walk-in. She started grudgingly adding in my info and kept asking me my birthdate 6 times, if I was allergic to latex 6 times and my phone number 5 times. My husband was witness to it. I finally received my booster. I was going to give Waipahu Walgreens 2 stars but the main store cashier was so quick and courteous that I rated the store a 3. Later on I noticed that the pharmacy worker misspelled the street and wrote the wrong city and zip code on my covid card. She had my drivers license to look at. So Walgreens should have a more competent worker at the pharmacy because accuracy of spelling and copying info is important. Also a board on the exterior of the store looks like it is popping off the building.

I also found fresh dog food from Purina for around three dollars, which was an amazing value for me. On top of that, I finally picked up a Hawaiian design tablecloth that I had been wanting and was really excited about. I also received a couple of coupons to use on my next visit and ended up using one for two Spam teriyaki flavors, original and Korean barbecue, which I had never tried before. I can always count on Longs to be available 24/7, which I truly appreciate. As someone who gets off work very late, options are limited, so having a reliable store open around the clock makes a big difference.

They have clearly visible signs warning that it's broken but you don't know how hot it's actually gonna be until you're inside sweating. This location is also one of the few that still has no self checkout. Be prepared to stand in line.

Two of the cashiers gladly helped me with my "rewards" card (different visits). Another time I stopped someone in the aisle for help. She patiently helped me select a suitable, medical adhesive. I noticed she was the manager. Checking me out was such an ENTHUSIASTIC cashier! Her name is MARI! She asked me for the reusable bag I was holding and gladly put my items in it for me. Such a delightful surprise! Mari's bubbly persona made my day. This kind of customer service ignites your feeling to go back again. It was three years since I had gone to this Long's Drugs due to the dissatisfaction in their pharmacy.

They have photo department deals that the two Longs in my neighborhood dont offer. The layout also seems different but you can easily find your way around the store. There usually weekly sales ads you might find useful. With online shopping at Amazon it cuts down the weekly shopping visits like before. That's probably why the closest Longs to my home recently closed. You can schedule your vaccine shots here as well as pick up your pharmacy orders if it's convenient for you.

Unfortunately, Walmart doesn't currently accept Apple Pay, but they do offer Walmart Pay through their app. By adding my card to the app, all I have to do at checkout is scan the QR code, and payment is completed instantly. It's been a real lifesaver on days when I've forgotten my wallet or just want a quicker checkout experience. It's not quite as seamless as Apple Pay, but once it's set up, it definitely saves time and makes shopping a lot easier. On this shopping trip, I was able to use Walmart Pay simply by downloading the app then adding my banking information in the app and voila, my groceries were paid. I am grateful to Walmart for having this option for customers like myself.

Because let's face it, Costco still holds value regardless of the POOR experiences I've encountered from the Pharmacy at Costco Ka Uka. I'll preface by saying customer service trumps mistakes any day, HANDS DOWN because humility goes a long way. Period. I have enough years under my belt with age and jobs to know what good customer service is vs. BAD customer service. Although the Golden Rule is more commonly known, The Platinum Rule is the NEW STANDARD, which for those who are unaware is "Treat Others How THEY Expect To Be Treated." It shifts the focus from what YOU want to what THEY want. It is now a selfless model vs. the selfish model when you look intrinsically into its meaning. Sorry for such a long intro, but it's necessary to hopefully get my point across. Today I picked up my monthly medication, and was subjected to be taken to the consultation window to have ALL my meds re-counted in front of me. Totally unnecessary since not all of my meds have been short in the past. ONLY ONE SPECIFIC MED HAS BEEN SHORTED ON NUMEROUS OCCASSIONS!!! But if this is what it takes for the Pharmacy Dept. to finally get it right, so be it. You must be wondering why? Last month my 2x/day med was short 30 pills. THIRTY PILLS! How do I know? I refill my five weekly pill boxes with all my meds which always should equal four full boxes and one with two days. Simple math. Noooooo, this specific med was short. But because this wasn't even the first time this happened (about six or seven times, seriously, same med ALL THE TIME) I was informed to come back to verify the count. wtf When I finally was able to return, inconveniently since I plan ahead when I need to visit Costco, there was talk under the tech's "breath" when she called the pharmacist over. "He's the one..." which I heard because they didn't say it soft enough. smh He basically said, "our inventory is correct, so you are wrong." Keep in mind, this wasn't a narcotic, but a prescribed pill which I need 2x/day per my doctor. I was outraged because he was basically telling me we're right, you're wrong. I really couldn't believe it. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM COSTCO AND ITS PHARMACY. Talk about having no sympathy, empathy, and humility since I explained how I'm short 30 pills. Okay so since I still NEEDED my meds, they counted the remaining 30 in front of me, but informed me they would be counting this med in person each time I pick up in the future (but not ALL my meds). I agreed because again, if that's what it takes so be it. He even tried to justify that it was triple-counted and initials on the bottle "DC" show it was double-counted, BUT I'M TELLING YOU IT WAS SHORT 30, NOT 1 OR 2, THIRTY!!!!!! Being insulted, I went to the front, explained to a manager on duty, which she said she would talk to the Pharmacy Manager. Keep in mind, no follow-up ever happened, no pharmacist or manager ever reached out to me from then until today. So instead of trying to talk to a manager again, here I am sharing with you my awful experience. Good luck and stay safe!
