March I got injured at Walmart Kunia on my left foot, knee and now I'm having pain to the left side hip Don't expect to get any response from Walmart insurance company by phone or email they send me mail while I was in the hospital the letter say if I don't respond how can I respond to them after the date I got it? Then send a certified mail with this time 10 days to respond your insurance company doesn't understand handicap issues or I wouldn't be able to use the Walmart scooter..A simple request from day 1 copy of Incident report multiple times from both Walmart Royal Kunia and it's insurance. My OG Walmart... Way back in the day hearing about Walmart I was excited as it was to open down the road from my bestie in Ewa...well demographics says Waipahu though getting there you take the Kunia exit...shrug! This more slightly hidden location that you may need to rely on google and though it's probably more nostalgic this location has a special place in my heart that's tied to my late bestie it's my favorite store with lots of parking and is very clean and organized with the friendliest staff. Found parking just steps away from the door walking I seeing the latest Spam collection including the on for Hawaii and Korean BBQ...so cool! I did curbside at this store. After I got home to get the groceries from the back of my car I discoverd they put all of my groceries into 3 really crappy paper bags. The kind where the handles rip if you look at them funny. One paper bag was all canned goods. One bag they put 6 pounds of potatos into. 2/6/26 @ 4:59p - Derek in the Hardware Department provided excellent service. He was on a ladder when I approached him to inquire about safety goggles, and he told me where to go. As I headed to the aisle, he followed up by coming over and pointing out the goggles located in two different areas that were packaged differently but appeared to be the same, and I was able to choose one. Decided to purchase a Ninja Crispi online and Walmart had a great deal and this location was the only one that had it in stock. The online procedure was super easy and they even offered free shipping/ delivery to my home the next day! Tried calling to get a timeline on the delivery but got transferred three times without any help or answers otherwise it was a nice experience and would probably do it again soon! Stopped by to pick up some local goodies and some hygiene items. Some of the shelves were empty which was a disappointment because they are usually stocked, but they did have the items that I actually went there for. The employees here are nice and helpful. I've never had issues at this Walmart location. This Walmart is usually my go to because I like the ambiance and feel. I also like that most of the time, they have the items I need. Since I live in the area, I visit this Walmart quite often. Being 79 years old, I walk slow and my vision is poor. I usually ask for help 3 to 4 times a visit. Regardless of how busy they are, I find the employees so very helpful. They will stop what they're doing and actually take me to where the items were. I had to ask for help 3 or maybe 4 times today and was helped by each one accept for one who told me where the item was and apologized for not taking me since she was the only one working at the registers. I must look helpless (ha ha) because the employee even scanned my bought items for me. These awesome employees are well trained. Hats off to whom ever the managers are. If I'm not mistaken I think this is one of the original Walmart?. The Royal Kunia location I like coming here because it's less crowded than all the other Walmart You can tell this Walmart is the first Walmart because it's a little run down compared to the Kapolei and the Pearl City location I also like this Kunia Walmart because they have roof parking and you come down with the escalator. Less crowded if you just go straight upstairs and park because everyone wants to park in front of the main entrance. read more

Shopping in Royal Kunia, Oahu, Hawaii... Long before GPS (yes, there was a time), I would venture to the Walmart at Royal Kunia when I wasn't able to sleep. Note: At that time, the Walmart in Downtown Honolulu didn't exist yet (formerly Macy's) and the Walmart on Keeaumoku Street wasn't built yet. I would get lost because Walmart at Royal Kunia is kind of tricky to find. I can't even explain it. It's in a residential area and it shares a parking lot with other businesses. One of my favorite departments was the crafts and sewing department - this is challenging to find, too. It's not in the far corner like the other Walmarts on Oahu...it's in the middle... Anyway, I enjoyed looking at patterns, yarn, and material and imagining what I could make. I also shopped in the clearance area for great deals. Whenever I needed something, I'd usually go to Walmart because of the low prices. This time, I visited the Royal Kunia Walmart in search of a sewing machine for my sister. It's really important now because starting Monday, April 20, 2020, face masks are required in public when interacting with other people. I found an easy mask pattern online that I think my nieces can make on a sewing machine. However, sewing machines, thread, and even elastic are sold out at this time! Since I was there, I browsed the entire store. From fresh produce, clothing, and appliances to hardware, furniture, and automotive needs, the store was tidy and clean. There was a limited supply of half off Easter candy as compared with the Pearl City Walmart, but I found some jelly beans anyway! I looked at the Hawaiian souvenirs, greeting cards, jewelry, snacks, and tote bags - everything is great for gift giving and personal use! If you live in the area, check out this Walmart. Waited at the similac showcase for 20 minutes before someone came for assistance. I called the operator 3 times and she said said someone was coming. The 3rd time I called she said the electronics associate said she would be there. So after a few minutes I went to electronics and the clerk was on her computer near the photos so after a couple minutes I told her excuse I've been waiting at the showcase for 20 minutes. She called another associate to assist me. The clerk that came asked if I was waiting long and apologized and she also rang me up at her station. Hubby, daughter and myself came to this location to look around. Hubby wanted to buy some plants and found some on clearance. They looked a little dried out but hopefully hubby can salvage them. I love shopping both at Target and Walmart. I find myself coming to Walmart more often because they have a wider variety of local products. We all know that Walmart is not known for customer service. About a month ago I purchased a robot vacuum that was upwards to $600. Both my husband and I frequent Vegas often and when we got back home to Hawaii I needed to return my purchase. Unfortunately it was 7 days past the return.. I went into the local store and the team lead and a courtesy clerk at the returns desk denied my return. Keep in mind I used my Walmart credit card from Capital One to make the purchase. I did not have my receipt but they were able to locate my purchase using my credit card. I asked to speak with a manager. Leilani the manager came to the return desk to hear my side of the story. I asked her if she could make an exception. We go back and forth to Vegas frequently and I miss the return. By 7 days. She was so gracious and she said that she would make it one time exception. I just want to highlight Leilani and the pleasant experience that I had. I know it was my fault but she accommodated me this one time. I don't ever return items that I purchase unless it is broken or damaged somehow. Which is very rare but I am truly thankful and blessed to have Leilani assist me today. It's definitely a Walmart vibe. When you walk in someone is there greeting you, same person that checks receipts as you exit. Workers are barely available when you need assistance, and when you do find one, they make you know that you are an inconvenience, not in words, but in demeanor. Lots of things are locked up due to high theft rates I'm guessing, but it's difficult to find someone to come open the locks up for you. And then they take it to a counter to be purchased right away so don't obtain locked up items until you are done shopping otherwise they "hold" it for you but you may have to wait in a long time to obtain it for check out. Self check out is easy but still annoying that these machines possibly took the place of someone's job. read more

I used to love this Walmart, I go out of my way for the better selection at Kunia. However, the store was super busy, only one lane open & its for lock up items only, tobacco, lighters, alcohol etc., so I wait patiently in the dreaded self-check out line. I start scanning my items a plastic drawer & 2 clear storage bins, and this Filipino lady is breathing down my back. Weird, but I finish my first transaction, run my card & she snatches my receipt out of my hands & accuses me of stealing a bin. Claiming I had 3 storage bins and 1 drawer. I said no, it's 2 with 2 covers. She voids my whole transaction, makes me do it again. People are staring because theres customers who actually need help navigating the self check out machine, and they are waving at her, their red lights are going off. One person skips the line all together and leaves with a cart full of electronics, alarm beeping, dude said "nope" to showing any receipt upon exiting. (nice).. And left into the sunset. Instead of helping the dude next to me, who was trying to pay for bananas, she watches me scan the bins again, same amount, she starts messing with my screen, insisting that I have more. I said the lids come with it, I used to work here, I know what I'm doing. Can I ring up my moms vitamins separately or are you going to void that too, and steal my receipt? I finish up and she thoroughly looks through my bag, checking every vitamin, every bin and cover. Taking my plastic drawer apart, because why not make a bigger scene. The poor older guy next to me looks really fed up, so while she's trying to prove I shoplifted, I help the old guy ring up his produce, he accidentally chose organic, easy fix and delete. I ask her if she's done, because I have a long drive home & there's customers who actually need assistance at this self-checkout. She insisted I have to pay separate for the storage lids, because it doesn't show up on the transaction list. I said I dont have time for this, but if you want to get your manager involved, I can explain step by step how rude, entitled and unintelligent your actions were. Better yet watch the footage. I took my receipts from her and walked out. I'll never shop at Walmart again. If Im ever in that area, I need to get her name because she wore the cashier vest but kept the name tag hidden, which tells me she gets into it with people a lot. And needs to get put in her place real quick. I've seen a group of people get tired of watching our ordeal & walked past the check out altogether with a ton of sh#t they didn't pay for. What a sh1t show! But god forbid I walk out with a $10.00 plastic bin with a free cover! Which I freaking paid for twice! I swear, if the cashiers aren't going to trust us to ring up our things, then do it for us. Like wtf! You're not loss prevention, but I was. Know your role & help those who actually need assistance. Groceries were very reasonable compared to other C stores in my area! For as many people that go there, the store was neat and clean. Parking was a breeze! Lots of spaces to park. That have a McDonalds in store which is great to treat your hunger pains! read more

It's one thing to say you can't do anything to help me, but it's another thing to lie to my face. 1. You tell me that the price per store on the Walmart app is online prices. I scan the product, it shows online price. So I click the options on the bottom to show price per store and it clearly says $79. You said it's the online price. I ask, so those prices fluctuate per store. Every store has a different online price? You said yea. Lie. Also, I say I was trying to get this Black Friday deal from 2PM that there was no option to do pick up today at any store. You say, well it sold out then. No. I had the item in my cart and ready to check out for one hour. I just didn't check out because I couldn't do PUT and I wasn't about to pay $27 more to ship it to my house. What's the sense of getting it at the sale price if that's the fact. But no, you insist that it means it sold out from the start because you sold out on your TVS. Thirdly, you say that there's a ton of glitches going on (which I'm clearly aware of) but you're handling them one by one single-handedly in the back room. Mary, this is a nationwide situation and I know for a fact you cannot fix it yourself when your store isn't the only one being affected. So another lie. if 0 stars was an option i really would . we ordered TWO pictures from the kunia walmart photo center on december 22, 2023 at 1:30PM. we was told that pickup would be SAME day at 5:57pm. we decided to go at 6:05pm in case they needed a little more time. we get there and worked named " JAN " talked to me with an attitude saying it wasnt ready without even looking like i dont know how it works. ( IVE ORDER FROM THERE MANY TIMES ). closer to 6:15pm i received a text saying our order was ready. once again jan was helping us and once again gave us an attitude that the order isnt ready. once again WITHOUT looking. she deserves to be FIRED. this walmart NEEDS TO GET IN CHECK. 1st Place-My Preferred Before we all get excited about this place, let me just say this is my prefered Walmart of all the other 5 Walmarts, but that doesnt mean its necessarily the best for everyone, it just works with me the best. Lets start with the parking, you can park in front of the store which is has short driveways but wider. The entrance can be a bit of a doozy since its like a 2 way stop but cars can come from 6 directions so make sure you are cautious when you make that right into the lot. If the front parking scare you, theres another big parking behind the store and on top that not many know about, most times many spots up next to the store and even a electric car charger station. While most of the Wal Marts boasts at least 2 entrances, this one has 4. Top from left side Elevator, Top from right side Escalator, main front entrance and garden front entrance. Garden front entrance is my favorite since it leads right to the food section and toilet paper section, I can be in and out and avoid the lines and checkout at the garden station. I think this location has the second best electronic section because of the workers that know their stuff and the older gentleman working the photo station is a great at service. They dont have my favorite popcorn here but they more then make up for it by having cold drinks BEFORE the check out including my favorite Iced coffee chilled. Top side elevator entrance has like a hidden fun station up there, with like 5 claw machines. The two restrooms in well placed locations, by the shoes in the back or up front by Mcdonalds. Products are well stocked, employees are helpful, and Ive never got anything here that was was spoiled or in bad shape. The return center is also spacious and in a well located part of the store up front. My one gripe about this place tho is the mop water smell lingering by electronics somewhere between aisles K10 to J22. read more

This Walmart always takes forever when waiting for an associate to show up to open any locked cabinet. I see more workers walking around with radios but not assisting. I've asked 3 people for assistance and I get told, "wait here, someone is coming." This isn't the first time it has happened. Some days it's really a hit or miss. I didn't realize that Walmart opens at 5:00 am...WOW that's a big plus A bigger plus was I needed assistance and I was able to find someone who could help me....GREAT A bigger bigger plus was there was hardly anyone shopping. I love to shop when there are no crowds. I don't enjoy shopping when there are a lot of people. Love Walmart and its prices and items but it's so different now. They have one register with an actual worker and everything else is self checkout. The check out lines have no signs indicating if it's cash or card, you don't know until you reach the actual register. That's a bit of inconvenience for me to have to get out of line and go to the correct line that takes my method of payment. Maybe putting up some signs will help. read more

One cashier open with store full of people. They had only one cashier lanes with check out lanes. Now you have to check yourself out when you come to this Walmart. I personally like to go to a chaser because the self check doesn't always work correctly and then you have to wait for help. I hope they are not doing this with all the Walmarts read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This is not the first time I've had a bad experience here. On this particular occasion, my wife had ordered prints and a canvas from the photo department online. She received an email saying that her print was "ready to pickup". We arrived at the store only to find her prints were not ready to be picked, and furthermore they did not have the proper canvas material in the store. Why would someone prompt you to come to the store if you're order isn't ready to be picked up. Workers names are Allyn and Gladys. The associate told my wife they were working on it. She stood there under the assumption that it was coming right out. What they really meant was "instead of going home we want you to stand there for an hour while we fumble around the area pretending to do stuff". Neither of the workers asked my wife if she preferred a phone call at home instead of waiting an HOUR in the crowded store. Not that anyone important is likely to read this, but this is a poorly run store with sub par customer service. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

What don't they sell here. I came here to pick up some last few items before flying out. This is the local Walmart where I live and I don't really like coming here because everything seems messy to me. I understand a few thousand people come here but the shelves could be better kept. I see employees always picking up after people but they just seem to place an item wherever there is space. Why is there a Barbie doll in the lego section or what are oranges doing in the light bulb area? Anyway you've been to one Walmart you've been to them all (I know you read my Kapolei Walmart review, right) but what surprised me here was the Japanese candy. I use to load up on the treats when I flew out of Japan but you can now come here and not relay on Amazon. I got those Micky Mouse containers for my kids 1st birthday in Guam of all places. Overall three stars. They do provide a cheaper alternative to groceries then the conventional stores and this place is one stop shopping. Service: The cashier lines are VERY slow!!! Each cashier has at least two customers waiting to checkout. There was a total of 4 cashiers and the self checkout. They need more cashiers especially on the weekends. It's also hard to utilize the self checkout if you can't do cash back or use coupons. If the self checkouts were able to do that then you would have more patrons doing self checkout. Location: They are located in the Kunia area of Waipahu. There is a lot of parking spaces in the parking lot. Set Up: I like how the seasonal items are right in the front when you walk in. But I don't like how tight the aisles are. Since they put merchandise in the middle of the aisle there's less cart space to move. You have to patiently wait for the person in front of you or ask them to move to the side to pass. There is a pharmacy, self serve photo machines and McDonalds inside. Overall, this Walmart needs to be renovated. I would choose another location to visit because of the slow service and the small aisles. read more

In times requiring a steady stream of cleaning supplies, I found the store shelves to be sufficiently stocked.
