I had a much better experience at this location today. I was happy to find a dog toy that was great quality for only $3.50, so I grabbed another one. I also found fresh dog food from Purina for around three dollars, which was an amazing value for me. On top of that, I finally picked up a Hawaiian design tablecloth that I had been wanting and was really excited about. I also received a couple of coupons to use on my next visit and ended up using one for two Spam teriyaki flavors, original and Korean barbecue, which I had never tried before. I can always count on Longs to be available 24/7, which I truly appreciate. As someone who gets off work very late, options are limited, so having a reliable store open around the clock makes a big difference. read more

They always nice and greet you at the door especially healthy Hawaiian lady w/ glasses , plus they go out of their way to be helpful even though they under staffed some days. Floor Supervisor Jollie always around too, helped me plenty times which I appreciate cause I'm partial disability. My wife and I got our Covid and flu shot today. I also got the one time RSV shot being over 65. The pharmacist Mr Arleigh was fantastic with our shots were given quick and without pain. He did a great job! They also have a special going on to help the community and also protect yourself by giving you a $10 coupon if you spend $20 before the end of the year! That's a fantastic deal. Shopping in Waipahu, Oahu, Hawaii... I wanted to drop off a completed Entry Form from the insert of the weekly local newspaper, "Midweek". It asks for the page number of certain advertisements. Easy! I saw the bright red "Longs Drugs" sign and stopped by. The box for entries was in plain sight in the Photo Department. Yay! Let's win! Since I was there, I asked if I could use the restroom... Sure! I found a manager and she unlocked two doors for me! Thank you! Then, I remembered that my auntie needed raisins for her oatmeal... and I needed a filler for a gift... Found them! Longs has a great Loyalty program which uses a patron's phone number. After inputting my number, the cashier gave me a receipt and a coupon for $1 to use at a later time... wow! Thanks! In less than 4 minutes Supervisor Long hair, kept using vulgar language at least 14 times . It took over 13 minutes before customer service arrived. Ohhh Longs Waipahu... where do I even begin? This place is a whole experience. If you're in a rush...don't come here. I repeat: DO NOT come here if you've got somewhere to be. The lines? Legendary. It moves slower than 5pm traffic on the H-1. I'm talking the kind of slow where you question all your life choices while holding a bottle of shampoo and a pack of li hing gummy bears. People get so frustrated, I've literally seen them just leave their stuff and walk out. It's that real. And let's not forget the smell. There's always this weird, mysterious odor lurking in the air....like rotting clothes in a garbage bag that's been left in the sun for three days. It's... noticeable. If smells could talk, this one would whisper, "Welcome to Longs Waipahu." But hey, it's part of the charm now. You walk in and it hits you like a nostalgic punch to the nose. But let's be real, despite all that, we still go. Why? Because Longs Waipahu is local gold. You go in for one thing and come out with snacks, toothpaste, a birthday card and probably some random sale item you didn't need but couldn't resist. The snack aisle alone deserves its own Yelp page. Crack seed, li hing everything, mochi crunch, Maui onion chips.... you name it, they got it. You're not just shopping, you're browsing with purpose. My wife bought an Amazon gift card for $40 and they made her go get a different card, saying something was wrong with it. She got a different card and we gave it as a birthday present to our neighbor. They contacted us saying it was already redeemed. On our way to Ewa Beach, for whatever reason beyond me Mr G decides to be nostalgic or something to check out this Longs location... I wanted to go to Walmart in our area but when he hopped on the freeway automatically I was irked. I used to work nearby this longs eons ago and never had any issues before. Soon as we walked through the doors it smelled similar to Pacific Super market, wth?! If you don't know it's very fishy in Pacific Supermarket and Longs doesn't sell fish! Second thing we noticed were 2 long lines as there were only 2 cashiers in the entire store. I feel for them, really. Then as we're waiting in line one probably is at the end of her shift and needs to go home. Even more so people in line complaining. Originally I just needed to pick up a birthday card. But standing in the line so long we had loads of time to go off individually and grab more items. So I got some alcohol, candies, and even had time to go outside to the ATM next door... I'm glad they had everything we wanted in stock. Needless to say we won't be visiting this location anytime soon. I know everywhere is kind of struggling to retain and hire new employees so it's not any one person's fault for this kind of issue. Always makes me wonder if management or work environment is the cause though *shrugz* I will say that the Waipahu community is huge because when I did work nearby, we had the longest hours compared to other branches and we were ALWAYS busy from open to close. Hubby and I came here around 2:30 am looking for Halloween candy. Unfortunately when we walked in, the choices were limited and they literally almost ran out of the good candy. We ended up walking around the store before we ended up leaving. I did run into two Hello Kitty Christmas decorations. Let me tell you how much I wanted to buy this. I wanted too but I know it's probably really expensive. I ended up walking away. Sad face. The store is open 24/7 which is a plus. Sometimes we need things early in the morning. There was hardly anyone inside at 2:30 am. Maybe around 6 people inside including us. There was only one cashier ringing people up. There seemed to be a line of 6 people including us. Plenty of parking at this time up front. Lol This place gets busy on the weekends. I would definitely come back if I needed something. Sometimes they have good sales as well. 11/23/24 5-6:00p Over one hour in this store because only two cashier lanes open on a Saturday, discovered upon paying the 1st time some items only accessible from the first cashier (ie. corned beef), and was advised to check with someone working the floor to see if there was flour stocked in the back before she could give me a rain check. The employee stocking the shelves checked in the back and advised none in stock. In line again to request the corned beef and rain check. The other cashier passed me a booklet to check for the flour on sale and since it wasn't there, no rain check. I found it online and back in line again. Saw the cashier who initially helped me walking by and asked her (hoping to prevent customers having to wait because of me) but was advised the other cashier could handle and the flour on sale was from another valid paper ad. Finally got the rain check but all this inefficiency put me in a bad mood leaving the store. I know now to bring the full page ads with me to save time. It may be awhile before I shop at this location again. Gave at least two stars to acknowledge the hardworking employees stocking the shelves who answered my inquiry regarding the flour, envelopes, and scotch tape and for the cashiers since they have to deal with so many customers. I hope management makes improvements (ie. having another employee write up the rain checks to free up cashier's time and signs directing customers where to locate sale items not on shelves) since the store will be even busier with the holidays approaching. read more

Placed a free promotion 8x10 Photo order & my picture did not print, because their machine "broken" because it ran out of ink. Manager told me to place my order at another store. I went home and discovered that she did not cancel my order, so I was unable to reorder my photo. Called the store and told the cashier to tell manager to cancel my order and I was told she did. Tried reordering my photo in the app and was unable to use the promo code. Checked the status of original order and still showing...Pending!?! So the manager didn't cancelled my order or she doesn't know what she is doing? Maybe she doesn't want me to use the free promotional code that I received from the CVS email to get my free 8x10? My dad and I got our COVID-19 shot today. It was really easy to get. Stood in the pharmacy line and the tech told us to stand in the other line, which I think is where you drop off your paper prescriptions. Went to the other counter, there was another tech who helped me asked me for my ID and insurance card. After that, answered some health questions on a form and she asked me which arm I preferred to have my shot on. I wasn't sure and she advised me to put it on my non-dominant one. Then she told me to sit in the waiting area until the pharmacist was free and she'll give me my shot. I didn't have to wait too long, maybe 10 minutes at most. The pharmacist was really kind and she told me to just relax my arm as best as I could so it wouldn't be painful. After it was done, she said to sit for 15 minutes and then I could leave. I got the Moderna shot, so she gave me my card and told me to get the second dose a month later. Right now, Hawaii is in tier 4 so I believe that the state allows 25 people in outdoor gatherings and 10 for indoors. With tourism opening up again, it's scary to not be protected at all. Super easy to get and the only side effect I have is my arm is sore at the injection site. I feel perfectly fine otherwise. read more

The date that I picked up my prescription at CVS Waipahu. As soon as the cashier checked out my prescription, Txxx 0.1%, the pharmacist marked my Txxx 0.025% prescription inactive. Today, when I try to refill my Txxx 0.025%, it won't let me. I called CVS Pharmacy and was put on hold for 30 minutes before a pharmacy staff answered and said she couldn't put an inactive prescription back to active status without even getting my name and birthday. I explained to her that because the Txxx 0.1% is too strong, I have to change it back to Txxx 0.025%. She said to go to my doctor to get a new prescription. It is unfair because I have to spend money on copay and time at the doctor visit on a pharmacist decision on marking my prescription inactive. I still have 2 refills left on my Txxx 0.025%. I will transfer all my prescriptions to another pharmacy and won't shop at CVS anymore. read more

If you care about your loved ones care and Health wellbeing then Do Not Use Longs Pharmacy Services. Longs is continualy out of medications vital to patients health. The person responsible for ordering long time customers medications obviously doesn't do a very competent job. Longs pharmacy staff often tell customers that thier prescriptions can't be fill due to supplier being out. Local Hospital pharmacy outlets have plenty of those same medication. Ask your doctor to discontinue calling your prescriptions to Longs Hawaii Pharmacy locations and use a different pharmacy for your families good health and welfare. read more

They do more then drugs. Of course, most of the time I come is to get drugs. The legal kind. Gee you guys?!?!? Anyway parking is hit and miss here depending on the time but worth the effort. To me, this is like a slightly upscale 7-eleven for convince. They got it all: from quick snacks to cheap toys to last minute makeup fixes and party supplies. But I come here for the pharmacy (and when those Vienna sausages are on sale. That's got to be the Filipino in me). Just like Walgreens there is a pharmacist on duty if you have any questions or concerns. The people verify everything to make sure you're picking up the right medications and know how to use them. The only problem I have is if you drop off a prescription and decide to wait. The waiting area is pretty small. If you do this, make sure the pharmacist has your updated phone number. Or you're waiting for a long time. Overall three stars. The place gets messy and disorganized sometimes and the cash registers often have long lines. It's seems sometimes Long's Drugs is more concerned about keeping the shelves filled and organized then opening up another register to get people out the door. Today I brought my daughter to her doctor and her doctor send her prescription to Longs Waipahu at around 10am and I got a text message at 11:24am that her prescription is ready. And so my husband went pick it up at around 3:45pm and they told him they still working on it and he needs to wait at the waiting area. So I called the pharmacy and told them how come I got a text message that it's ready and now u guys are telling us that you still working on it? And they just so rude and said "WERE STILL WORKING ON IT" so u need to wait They don't even apologized for they're mistake. I always got my prescription here and always not treated good but since it's closer to my home I always choose this location to pick up our prescription. Seriously not happy with my dads prescriptions and their pharmacy. My Dad called me telling me that he was missing one of his medications when he went to pick it up last night. He usually picks up about 9 prescriptions at a time due to his diabetes. Since I was not there he gave the phone to the associate for me to consult with them about the missing medication. My dad does not not know the names of his prescriptions but more so just tells me that he is missing the biggest pills and the most important one. When I got on the phone to talk with the representative, she informed me that they were out of stock. I then told her to transfer it to Walmart in Kunia. I informed my dad that he could pick it up the next day... When he got to Walmart he had seen the medicine they had refill was the incorrect refill. I called Longs to inform them of this mishap and was placed on hold twice before I got hung up on. Then I called back again and they had placed me on hold for over 7 minutes?!? You must of seen my facial reaction at this time! When I finally got someone on the phone and asked what is going on with the most important medicine for his diabetes, she informs me that it was never processed to be filled and it was placed on hold and does not know why??? Oh but, I would be able to pick it up today after they process that order?!??! Okay, so much for driving back and forth and really really inconvenient for my 68 year old dad! Besides there long waits in line and obvious "caring" about their customers... Growing up, my grandparents filled in as my angel / guardians because both of my parents worked during the weekends. One of my fondest childhood memories is the countless trips to Longs Drugs with my grandma, I remember being patient as I followed her around the aisles while she searched for sale items in the latest Longs Drugs ad. My favorite part of trips to Longs Drugs as a child and even as an adult was being treated to a snack in their candy aisle. I purposely chose Violets because they were my grandma's favorite mint and she always scolded me saying, "That's NOT candy! That's a mint, pick something else!" Whenever I visit any Longs Drugs location, I somehow find myself wandering into the candy aisle searching for Violets and if they're in stock, I'll buy them. Its become an inexpensive splurge that brings me an immediate feeling of comfort and nostalgia. read more

Longs Drugs is Hawaii's CVS Pharmacy. It's conveniently located just off the freeway in a shopping center with a lot of parking. Some days, you can't find a shopping cart as the house-less nearby take them for personal use or to recycle it. That's what a worker advised me. Be prepared to bring shopping bags if this is the case when you go in to shop. I like that this location is 24 hours for those late night runs. Area gets kinda sketchy though after dark, in my opinion. Longs new sales start every Sunday and go through the following Saturday. Be prepared for it to be busy on Sundays and most paydays (1st & 15th of the month). read more

Got a call that my prescriptions was ready, stood in line for 5 minutes, and right when I get to the cash register, they said it wasn't ready yet. Smh. Lack of communication and very long wait. I stood there for more than 20 minutes just to get everything processed. Theeen, they tell me I have to come back tomorrow because they don't have one of my prescriptions in stock. Okay, here's the long and short of it. Just realized what I wrote...no pun intended! I only came to this location because it was after midnight and I was just seen through the ER at Queen's West and needed my medications right away. Unfortunately, Walgreens Ewa Beach pharmacy was no longer 24-hour but this Longs was. Less than a mile away from Queens. I went into the store and immediately was taken aback by what I can only describe as soiled cat litter. I mean WOW it was rank and I work at a vet clinic! My olfactory senses never got used to it during my wait, unfortunately. The pharmacy workers were very pleasant and accomodating however! And I was thankful for their 24-hour service. However, I just could not get over the stench and overall appearance of the place. I did not feel clean. read more

This Longs Drugs is what can I say more? Longs. The usual set up. This one is located in the Waipahu Shopping Center I think it's called next to the American Savings Bank and Shakey's Pizza Joint. They always have a security guard at the door, I guess to prevent theft and because it's Waipahu? LOL! The cashiers and clerks are very friendly here and helpful. Whenever I need help they always stop whatever they're doing and assist me. Which is excellent customer service, and a lot more places should learn from this to gain a more loyal customer base. Convient if you live in Ewa because it's up the road, Kunia because it's down the road, and Waipahu because it's at the end of Waipahu and next to many other great business establishments. On Sale days it can get busy and the lines as well as the parking can be a bitch. But this is to be expected. I love that they always have good in-store specials. Like I said it's Longs, they do this at every location. LOL Great place to stop by for last minute things. I'm forever going to be a die hard Longs Drugs Customer. :) read more

Ive worked in customer service for more than 10 years, and I believe that servicing and acknowledging your customer should be a priority. A few days ago, I came in here for some last minute Halloween items such as glow sticks and some candy. The store seemed quite busy with people going in and out quickly. As I stood in line to check out, a customer in front of me wanted to do a money gram. Ophelia who was the cashier kindly helped her with the money gram as she ran into problems. Now, as I was the next customer in line patiently waiting, she did not acknowledge that I was next and there (it seemed like I was invisible). She could have asked another cashier to help me as I stood there for at least 5 minutes. At this point, I'm already irate. No acknowledgment that she would be right with me. I looked for another cashier whom was open and of course I walked over and waited for another 5 minutes because the other cashier had problems with the loyalty card. All in all, longs do have good items that are on sale, but please acknowledge your customers and don't make them wait longer than they already have waited. read more
