Sally Beauty Supply in Kapolei. I called and was helped by Muriah. Muriah was very personable and helpful. She was able to put my colors on hold for same day curbside pickup. When you get there just call them and transaction is thru the phone and Muriah brought out my products. Sally Beauty Supply us opened with adjusted covid hours. ALL covid safety rules was followed. 6 ft circles, required face mask. When a baby (no mask protection)was in the store no customers were allowed in, loved the extra step for baby protection. Excellent customer service for Mariah. She will be a great manager.

I have to say having lived all over the mainland I was completely surprised at the selection of products available here. The Kapolei location had all my needs and then some! Shout out to who I believe is the asst manager Brennah who was very knowledgeable and friendly!

When I was at the new DTE at Pearlridge, the employee gave me a tip to try Sally. Ok I replied not knowing where I'd find this shop. As serendipity would have it, since hubs was off told him let's go to Target Kapolei cuz I needed some household items and we could eat on that side. As soon as we turned in I spotted Sally. Wait I gotta go in there. He waited in the car checking his email. The female at the counter was so friendly and walked me over to what I was looking for: disposable mascara wands. In January I had lash extensions put on and my goodness, my own lashes were gone except for new baby ones starting to sprout on one side- gross! Pinterest lists recipes for growing longer lashes so I'm going to give it a try. What else did I find and buy at Sally's? Pointy tip eye qtips and... of course my nail person told me the new dip powder was really strong, stronger than gelish.... bong! They chipped off within 4 days and I could peel them off easily. Spotted a light slightly subtle blingy polish to get me through. Ah the price of beauty... may look great when it's fresh and new but sometimes totally ughsafter.

Who would have thought purple hair would have revolutionized the way I care for my hair? A co-worker came in after the weekend with a really pretty brownish-purple hair dye that I was absolutely in love with...WHO DID YOUR HAIR?? I shouted. She reported that she did it herself. I retorted "Haha, get out of here, that looks professional!" She said no, she really did. She asked me "do you dye your own hair?" and I said yes. She said "do you use the boxed stuff in stores?" and I said yes. She said "do you know those boxed dyes damage your hair and fry them?" and I said yes. She said "well stop using those boxed dyes and go to Sally Beauty Supply" and I said "YES!" I said, "can anyone go, or do you have to be a professional beautician?" as I've often thought you need some kind of license to buy supplies as in the "olden days" and she said no. I asked her where was this fabulous, magical shop in Kapolei? And she said it was by Pier One, Genki Sushi. I've been past this store maybe a 25 times but never noticed it. One of the reasons is I wasn't looking, and another reason is they have the store windows blocked with white paper to keep the brutal Leeward Oahu sun out of the windows. I drove up tonight and saw the sign that said "OPEN TO THE PUBLIC" and I said....YES!! Stepping into the place was like a beauty lover's buffet of stuff from head-to-toe...every imaginable hair dye color from bright pink to midnight black, plastic ear-cover packs for when you do your own dye-job at home, dye brushes, pointy squeeze bottles, eyebrow and eyelash dye, spray-on grey root concealers, special shampoo and conditioners, hair-cutting capes, make-up, jewelry, nail polish in every boutique shade possible, and fake eyelashes galore with eye lash tools...wowwwww! The great new is the professional products here cost less money than the boxed dyes at big chain stores...and you can mix up your own batch to save money as most of the professional dyes and developers come separately and you only mix the amount you need in equal ratios. The girls there were super friendly, asking me if I had any questions and answering them without hesitation because they knew their stuff! If you join their Beauty Club for $5.00 a year, you get discounts and perks. After my initial purchase tonight, I got a free product and a $5.00 off coupon for my next visit! Sally's got a new fan!

Luckily, I found Pali Women's Health which was thankfully on the west side of the island near home. Pali Women's Health shares the same parking lot as Kalapawai Cafe. If there is no parking, you can find street parking, Chuck E Cheeses, or across the street at the old K-Mart. It's a small facility, but I felt that it was great for what I was wanted. I called in after seeing their Yelp page and requested an appointment. Someone called me within 48 hours to schedule and because I was a new patient, they even mailed me my forms ahead of time so I can complete it before coming in. The woman on the phone was really helpful and she worked with my hectic work schedule. My appointment was with Physician's Assistant Alisha who was awesome! I felt comfortable talking with her about my health and felt that she gave me great information based on my family's history on preventative measures and doing a cancer screening. I felt comfortable talking to her and the exam flew by quickly. I'd definitely recommend!

During that call, I stated that I was willing to provide medical documentation regarding the pink eye diagnosis, and that offer was not welcomed at the time. So it's confusing to now see that documentation is being requested publicly. The photo attached to my original review was taken immediately after the service. In that image, you can see that some lashes were not properly isolated and several were not lifted upward evenly. Additionally, the rods were in place for the duration of the 1.5-hour appointment while the facial, dermaplaning, and extractions were being performed. I understand policies exist, but the experience itself, both during the service and in the follow-up communication, is why I felt compelled to leave my review. Clients deserve to feel heard and taken seriously, especially when a medical issue follows a treatment. Ultimately, based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this business.

I inquired about a consultation for permanent makeup - nano feather brows (more natural strokes compared to microblading) and the lady who answered the phone actually scheduled me for the Waikīkī location without telling me (originally I wanted Kapolei)...I show up to the Kapolei location day of my consultation and the place is closed. So I called the town location and the owner Hideko answered - I explained to her the situation and she apologized and said that she'd come to Kapolei that week and do the consultation herself. The day of my consultation I called a couple hours before and asked if she'd be able to do the actual service and they were able to accommodate me and said yes! This Kapolei location is nearby Ho'okele elementary and it's a small little shop with one bed in the center. It's very clean and relaxing. Hideko answered all of my questions and concerns. She drew out how my brows would look like and asked if I'd like to proceed. The process itself felt like tiny scratches on my brows not too sore. From consultation to finish it took about 2 hours 45 minutes. Hideko really connects with her clients, gets to know them and takes her time putting in quality work. The price I paid was $800 without tax or tip but I'm very happy with how it came out and I don't regret it at all. A follow-up/touch-up appointment is included in the price you pay if you'd like to add more detail or anything. Thank you so much Hideko and definitely would come back again!

I had my first appointment close to a month ago to have my brows done at their Century Center location. Now that a second one opened closer to home I scheduled my re-touch at the Kapolei location. It is in close vicinity of Ashley Furniture just off Kapolei Parkway close to a school and in a residential area. You will need to find street parking so be on the lookout for the Island Beauty sandwich board fronting the salon. Upon entering it felt like walking into the chicest spa with beautiful music, white fur chairs, white treatment tables and romantic wallpaper set off by a stunningly chandelier. Hideko checked on how my brows turned out after the first session, then marked points and measured to make sure both brows were aligned. This time she was going to microblade my brows after the numbing gel was applied. She cautioned me that I would feel more this time...so true as I felt my left hand grasping onto the table and what seemed like I penetrated the tissue paper lining. She asked if I was okay, applied more numbing gel. I had asked about the microblade tool which she showed me was new and in a sterile wrapper. It was so tiny like a pen but consisted of 17 needle like protrusions but I'd need a magnifying glass to really see. When the procedure was done she nodded approval and smiled and I was very pleased at the outcome. Hideko really is a master at her craft, I felt very confident being worked on by her. Thankyou and see you again Hid

I usually gravitate toward the travel section first, then make my way over to the body wash area which is always so nicely organized. Their purses and bag charms are the cutest, and I can't resist checking out the clearance section. You can seriously hit the jackpot and find things for like $3. I also love browsing their HomeGoods section. They always have the best seasonal décor, and I try not to leave without grabbing a toy for my dog. Their selection of tough toys is actually really solid for aggressive chewers. Today's haul was actually a win. I walked out with a hand lotion, two body washes, a hair clip, a dog toy, two bags of dried dragon fruit, and a few extra accessories all for $67. I'm proud of myself because normally I'm dropping $200 to $300 without even thinking. Sometimes I really have to tell myself to just stay home or at least sit in the car a little longer before going in lol. Because once I'm inside, it's dangerous. If I want it, I got it. The only downside for me is that as a plus size girl it can be a little hard to find good options in the 3X to 4X range. Overall it's still one of my favorite places to shop. It's basically an instant serotonin boost every time I go. Also if you see Piper K. grab it. Their accessories, especially bag charms and hair pieces, are so good. 1-Star Review - After spending over $25k with him, Dr. Okano still refused to help save my tooth…read moreI have been a patient of Dr. Michael M. Okano in Kapolei for years. He has already done four dental implants for me that cost well over $25,000. I trusted him with major, expensive work and expected the same level of care and respect when I returned with another tooth issue. Instead, Dr. Okano examined the tooth and immediately pushed for extraction with zero explanation of why saving it wasn't possible. When I clearly told him I did not want the tooth pulled and wanted to explore a root canal to preserve it, he refused to discuss any alternatives. I politely asked for a referral to an endodontist for a second opinion -- a completely reasonable request before an irreversible procedure. He flat-out refused. No reasons were given. No discussion of risks, benefits, or options. He simply placed a temporary filling and left me hanging, all because I dared to ask for a specialist consultation and a second opinion. After investing tens of thousands of dollars with this practice, I was shocked and disappointed by how little regard he showed for my wishes or my right to informed consent. This is not the patient-centered care I expected from someone who markets himself as providing comprehensive, state-of-the-art dentistry. If you're facing a potential root canal versus extraction, think twice before seeing Dr. Okano. He seems far more interested in pulling teeth than in working with patients who want every reasonable chance to save them. I will not be returning and strongly advise others to look elsewhere if they value autonomy and tooth preservation. Extremely disappointed.
