Sally has quite the impressive selection of specific products ranging for items from head to toes the fun yet quality items of hair colors has really gotten my curiosity to go outside of my usual box as the staff here are really knowledgeable. Shop is very neat and organized which makes shopping super easy and fun and as I went in look for a nail file was blown to see the variety choice I have since I'm always in need of reshaping my nails a buffer was something I was looking for, located in Kapolei Commons making parking very easy and that's something beautiful! Me and a friend just visited earlier today and had the most weird uncomfortable experience. We walked in with my friend knowing what she wanted but we decided to walk around the store. As we were making our way everything seemed fine got asked about two times by I believe the manager lady she was a lil shorter lady. We said we were good both times didn't bother us. Then as we became the only two customers in the SMALL three aisle store the cashier up front (Heavy set person of color, I believe she had glasses and a side pony) decided to swiffer mop right in the aisle that my friend was looking at product in. She then gave a wicked face as I started walking up the aisle in the spot that she just mopped . I said sorry n stayed friendly but just thought it was weird how she decided to mop right where we were.so as me and my friend are chatting about the hair colors n things she stops literally right beside my friend n just stands there listening to us before she interrupts to give some advice. We thank her n tell her we had knew what she was talking about. Idk if that made her mad but she then just proceeds to stand there swiffer in hand about shoulder to shoulder from my friend as we keep chatting n it just feels beyond awkward. Like literally just stands there right next to us still just listening to our conversation and frankly invading our personal space. I've worked in retail for almost 5 years and ik the protocol for watching customers and profiling them and we were friendly never rude we said we didn't need help and usually we go on and do other things but watch from afar but this was way to creepy and really infuriating. As soon as my friend made a comment about wanting to put everything back and leave she finally moves behind us up to the front of the aisle and then just STANDS there swiffer STILL in hand( she didn't even mop the other aisles mind you!!!) n she just waits...staring at us straight up! Like if I wasn't trying to be a good person and a returning customer I would have went off and sounded very rude but I was there with my friend for her to grab her items. We finally just rush to grab anything n she leads us to the register. We check out and leave with the most gross taste in our mouths trying to just understand why she was like that but woah I had to come on here and let whoever reads this to be aware. Just came to shop here today for the first time. An I had the worst experience. The lady with the funky blue an black hair for starters followed me around a was basically breathing down me an my other half's neck as if we were stealing. To top it off when we went to check out she had the nastiest attitude. Me 3 years ago woulda dragged her but luckily I'm a changed woman. Sally Beauty Supply in Kapolei. I called and was helped by Muriah. Muriah was very personable and helpful. She was able to put my colors on hold for same day curbside pickup. When you get there just call them and transaction is thru the phone and Muriah brought out my products. Sally Beauty Supply us opened with adjusted covid hours. ALL covid safety rules was followed. 6 ft circles, required face mask. When a baby (no mask protection)was in the store no customers were allowed in, loved the extra step for baby protection. I rarely come to Sally's. Usually I get my product online when I am in between salon visits. My stylist uses a soecific brand of color. I took a photo of the color that she issues to touch up my roots to cut down on cost I usually do my root touch up and leave the cutting and highlights to her. I came in to pick up some curly girl products for my hair. They were out of the specific brand that I needed. I ended up going with another brand no problem. I had asked for help with color matching my stylist color to a brand carried by Sally's. I'm guessing she was a manager. Skinny blond lady with glasses. She told me to bring my color wheel out and match it that way. She did explain a few details to me but I had more questions and assistance. She was walking away as she was answering me. If I were a professional colorist no problem. I am not and really would have loved the extra minute to spend with me. All I needed a a a minute or two of her time and I would have been all good. Underwhelming experience today I was hoping for the bare minimum, it's called customer service. read more

When I was at the new DTE at Pearlridge, the employee gave me a tip to try Sally. Ok I replied not knowing where I'd find this shop. As serendipity would have it, since hubs was off told him let's go to Target Kapolei cuz I needed some household items and we could eat on that side. As soon as we turned in I spotted Sally. Wait I gotta go in there. He waited in the car checking his email. The female at the counter was so friendly and walked me over to what I was looking for: disposable mascara wands. In January I had lash extensions put on and my goodness, my own lashes were gone except for new baby ones starting to sprout on one side- gross! Pinterest lists recipes for growing longer lashes so I'm going to give it a try. What else did I find and buy at Sally's? Pointy tip eye qtips and... of course my nail person told me the new dip powder was really strong, stronger than gelish.... bong! They chipped off within 4 days and I could peel them off easily. Spotted a light slightly subtle blingy polish to get me through. Ah the price of beauty... may look great when it's fresh and new but sometimes totally ughsafter. read more

Even though I enjoy shopping at all the different Sally's stores, I always seem to find myself gravitating toward this location. I love the West side, it's my true hometown. Located in the Kapolei Commons, it's so conveniently placed near so many different eateries. Amazing stores to shop at like ross, TJ Maxx, and target. Within walking distance of Regal Theaters for entertainment, and many others! Lots of parking all over the Commons area, it's just the perfect place to spend a couple of hours. So first off, if you haven't, I definitely suggest signing up for a Sally's card and emails to get their welcome coupon. If you're a beauty professional they have a separate pro card to get additional savings. Both The emails and mailers are helpful to find the best deals for all your beauty needs. Although there are way better beauty supplies to shop at for professionals I will say Sally's is always the most convenient for locations and hours. The main thing I always come to Sally's for are the gel polish. I am always able to get the best deal on gel polish here than anywhere else on island. Buy one get one free is always the way to go especially when each item will cost at least $10+. Coming to Sally's isn't just about the products they have, it's also about the friendly and helpful employees. Anytime I stop in, anyone that I've encountered at this location is so helpful. I'll ask for what I need and they give me a heads up on upcoming promotions. For a penny pincher like me, I can always appreciate that for sure. The store was very neatly stocked and virtually no wait to check out. Prices were also comparable if not like the mainland prices. Who would have thought purple hair would have revolutionized the way I care for my hair? A co-worker came in after the weekend with a really pretty brownish-purple hair dye that I was absolutely in love with...WHO DID YOUR HAIR?? I shouted. She reported that she did it herself. I retorted "Haha, get out of here, that looks professional!" She said no, she really did. She asked me "do you dye your own hair?" and I said yes. She said "do you use the boxed stuff in stores?" and I said yes. She said "do you know those boxed dyes damage your hair and fry them?" and I said yes. She said "well stop using those boxed dyes and go to Sally Beauty Supply" and I said "YES!" I said, "can anyone go, or do you have to be a professional beautician?" as I've often thought you need some kind of license to buy supplies as in the "olden days" and she said no. I asked her where was this fabulous, magical shop in Kapolei? And she said it was by Pier One, Genki Sushi. I've been past this store maybe a 25 times but never noticed it. One of the reasons is I wasn't looking, and another reason is they have the store windows blocked with white paper to keep the brutal Leeward Oahu sun out of the windows. I drove up tonight and saw the sign that said "OPEN TO THE PUBLIC" and I said....YES!! Stepping into the place was like a beauty lover's buffet of stuff from head-to-toe...every imaginable hair dye color from bright pink to midnight black, plastic ear-cover packs for when you do your own dye-job at home, dye brushes, pointy squeeze bottles, eyebrow and eyelash dye, spray-on grey root concealers, special shampoo and conditioners, hair-cutting capes, make-up, jewelry, nail polish in every boutique shade possible, and fake eyelashes galore with eye lash tools...wowwwww! The great new is the professional products here cost less money than the boxed dyes at big chain stores...and you can mix up your own batch to save money as most of the professional dyes and developers come separately and you only mix the amount you need in equal ratios. The girls there were super friendly, asking me if I had any questions and answering them without hesitation because they knew their stuff! I always come to this location to get my beauty needs. First off, the girl in the front didn't welcome me as I walked in or ask me if I needed help with anything. She's a white girl with purple and blue hair. She needs to work on her customer service skills and to always make eye contact when someone walks into your store!!! If you don't like your job go find another one. And this other worker, I believe her name was DEZ. She kept hovering over me as if I was gonna steal anything. The lady working there was extremely friendly and helpful. She made some suggestions as we were looking for a way to dye my nieces hair and actually get the color we wanted. She also showed us some other products that she felt would work well on our hair. Most folks know this but with a military ID you get a discount which is always great! read more

This Sally's is on the new side of Kapolei in the building where Down to Earth and Pricebusters are. The store is kinda small, and the shelves are always kept full with beauty products. Staff has always been helpful and knowledgeable whenever I've been there. The only complaint I have is that they don't carry a lot of the brands of products I'd want to buy! I'm a nail polish fanatic, and while the brands this store carries are decent, I'd probably come by more if they had China Glaze or Essie. And while we're on the topic of nails, there is also a small nail art section that is seriously lacking in the striping tape area! Other than my fussing over the nail stuff, the store has tons of products for hair and skin, and is always having different promotions and giveaways. There is a Sally's discount card, which you can apply for in-store. I think there is a small (~$5) fee to get it for a year, but if you have a military id card you get it for free. Either way, the card is worth it if you buy beauty products more than once a year. Definitely worth stopping by. read more

Each time I've been there, I've been totally overwhelmed with the sheer number of items in the store, so needed to ask for help finding what I needed. That being said, I may have had to wait while employees helped just one other person in front of me just once. Other times there was nobody else in the store so I got help right away. If I could rate 4.5 stars, I would. -.5 just for it being hard to find specific products without assistance, but 4.5 for great variety of products, friendly help, and always having on hand what I am there to purchase. read more

I've been going to this salon since i was 16, I'm 23 now and only NOW have i genuinely enjoyed shopping there. I had to ask if the staff was new because there was no way they were the same crowd there when i last made a big purchase last summer. To no surprise they said they've only been at the store for a few months. They were extremely friendly, and made a ton of jokes and even while they were working and restocking they were super friendly and constantly offered their services. I don't even have enough fingers for how many times i would walk into this store and get completely ignored and given an attitude. Because of this, I started ordering my products online and at other locations :/ It became a norm at that point so i was extremely surprised when everyone was SO friendly and that's an understatement. Sorry to have to write a bad review but the heavy set Caucasian woman was so rude. I brought in my receipt because she didn't give me 25% off the clearance items. When I told her that I came in because she didn't give me the discount she went off and told me "me and my manger went through your receipt and you did get the discount. It's just weird how the system does it." She was extremely rude as she continued to argue with me and she spent about 20 minutes trying to process my refund. Yes! I was correct and she gave me a $4 refund because I didn't receive the 25% off some of my items. At the end of the excruciating experience, she didn't even apologize. She said, "oh well, that's our system". It's not about the money but it's the principal. Even my 9 yr old daughter could tell you the math was not right. The salesperson tried to tell me that $2.47 was my discount off of $25 worth of merchandise. I have never experienced such poor behavior from a salesperson at Sally's. It's unfortunate that as a result of this person's poor behavior, I will no longer be shopping there. read more

I'm giving star just because the manager came and asked and apologize but because of the worker that was obviously was not trained correctly. So here is my story I went to Sally's in kapolei and I walked in went straight for what I needed. So as I was waking to the register one of their employee walked pass me and I looked at her looking at me and then she looked down to my purse which was open. I stopped her and as her is there a reason why she followed me and passed me as well as looked to see if I had something in my purse. So she of course denied that she did that, I'm no fool I know exactly what she did. I continued to walk to register to check out and her she comes to ring up my item. I told her that what she did was embarrassing to me and then she said she does not know what I'm talking about. I told her girl I am a woman of color you think I don't know when I am being followed. So she want to try and have attitude so I politely told her to cancel the transaction and that I will take my business to Trina or Hanns where I won't be followed. I will never spend my money at any Sally's and I will spread the work because I know barber's and beauticians that spend good money at Sally's. read more
