When I want a quicker store run than Walmart, I go to Longs...there's a good chance they'll have what I'm looking for. While it's a medium sized drug store, it has literally everything. Food, local snacks, leis/flowers, cards/gifts, toys, beauty products, slippers, beach stuff, Hawaiian good stuff, cleaning & cooking things, seasonal items, even Kodak picture printing. I don't know any other store that has Kodak printers anymore! There's options to make gifts out of your photos too or let the store develop the pictures for you! With grad season coming up they have lots of leis and make it yourself materials. There's always sales and choke coupons to use there too! Best yet, they're open 24 hours and so is their pharmacy! I usually have prescriptions sent there and get a text quickly when its ready. If I have to bring a prescription in, they get it ready in 10-15 min. I have our family meds on auto fill so I get text alerts monthly when its ready. There's even a minute clinic with Dr's that can see people same day if you can't get in to your own Dr! How convenient! The store is clean and organized & there's always friendly workers around the store. If you have a CVS account, you can find extra coupons in your email, apply it to your account and it should pull up in store when you put in your phone number. Gotta love savings! We were shopping around the Kapolei area and really struggled to find a nearby business that had public access to a bathroom. Unfortunately, this Longs Drugs is now added to my list of places I can't rely on in case of an emergency. It's hard to shop and dine around the area when you don't know if you'll be able to find relief when needed. This is one of the challenges I personally run into while shopping in Hawaiʻi. read more

The pharmacy texted me saying my 2 prescriptions were filled and to pick up my medicine. The pharmacist did not explain anything and rang up the order. I realised that they sold something I didn't even request. It was an old prescription that I no longer needed. I don't even think it was covered by my insurance. The bag was unopened and stapled on top, and the box with the item was inside. Took it back and the pharmacist said they won't accept it even if it was not something I ordered. Unbelievable. It's a perfect location & the pharmacy is 24 hours . But after sitting there for almost 30 minutes for my prescription and now it 1:30 and they are going to close for lunch the gal finally told me "we don't have enough to fill your prescription " "so why didn't you tell me that instead of making me wait this long for nothing" . When your not feeling good you just want to take your medicine and sleep; well how can you rest if you need your asthma medication? Because I just didn't want to deal with this I went home and as soon as I go home CvS calls to apologize & told me that Waipahu cvs has it and my answer was " you should of done that in the first place instead of making me sit there for nothing " So lesson for me is to stand up and double check on your prescription even if they get irritated; don't jus sit there and trust that they will get to you especially when they close at 1:30-2:00 for lunch. Idk if it's intentional but I needed to rush to Longs in the early morning for my child to get Benadryl and as far as I know the Kapolei longs should be 24 hours. This is the second time within a months span. Apparently only their location has their register down and you are asked at the door if your picking up a prescription you may go in and in my case last night I needed to get Benadryl for my child the Japanese man told to go either to Longs Waianae or Longs Pearl City because their register is down. Very odd that this also happened to my husband when we needed to run to get Tylenol for our children after 2am. Thank goodness for Safeway Ewa Beach who is 24 hours and fully stocked with friendly staff. read more

Kapolei Longs on Farrington Highway can be found behind Chilis and McDonalds, next the First Hawaiian Bank on Farrington Highway. I usually pop in here for items sold out in Waianae or Waipahu as this store is generally well stocked. Recently I needed a TB/PPD test for work. I easily made an appointment via the Longs website for the Minute Clinic. (Appt the next day). The minute clinic may be found in the left rear corner of the store. Look for the pretty colors. I arrived, checked in at the kiosk (you may check in on the app) and was immediately greeted and ushered into an exam room. The staff was professional and efficient. The nurse practitioner assisted me with making an appt (via the CVS app) for my PPD reading in two days. My second visit went just as smoothly. Highly recommend the Minute Clinic for any non-urgent medical needs! read more

Came in to pick up some medication. I like coming to this location because the employees here are helpful and friendly. There is something about the feel of the store compared to others locations. I also like this location because it is usually never really crowded, its close to home, and they always have what I need. They usually have many items avaialble and their shelves are always stocked especially when the new sales come out on Sundays. The Sunday sales are the best especially when it's their value book. Today, I had a 30% off one regular price item coupon that I was able to use. Yay! It's another thing I like at Longs because they have some really great coupons on their CVS app. The app also allows you to accumulate extra bucks which you can use for future visits. You can either scan the barcode or enter your number to get points to your CVS account. Today, the employee at the pharmacy took the time to check on a medication that was not listed for me. She was able to place an order which I thought was great service. read more

I came to get my medication. The lady named Desiree checked my full name and date of birth and quickly said, "I don't have a prescription for you," then left the register without even asking what kind of medication or refills I needed. So, I was still standing there, pulling out my doctor's message to check if they sent it to the correct address. From far away, she said, "WHAT ARE YOU STILL WAITING FOR?" I thought that was rude, how about asking me if I still need help with something? she didn't bother asking what kind of medicine I needed so she could help me better; instead, she just left. I told her I was checking my doctor's message because they sent it to this address two days ago, and it indicated I still have four refills. Another lady helped by asking what kind of medicine I needed, and when I told her the name, she confirmed there was a refill available and she could give it to me. Desiree was mumbling something about it being on back order, and when I asked what that meant, she didn't respond. I asked the other lady how long the wait would be, and she said 15 minutes. Then Desiree rang up my meds I told her she shouldn't be working here because her customer service is awful and her smart mouth said oh okay DESIREE YOU NEED MORE TRAINING to work at the pharmacy. read more

This pharmacy usually has only 1 worker at the window processing pick ups. That's usually the case when I pick up prescriptions. Regardless of how long the line is I have witnessed only a handful of times where another worker is able to step in and help, or there are 2 windows open. Be ready to spend at least 30 minutes waiting in the pharmacy line. Add another 15-20 minutes if you have chatty people who want to tell their life story to the worker and don't care how many people are waiting behind them. There is so much employee turnover at this store! I've been coming to this store for over 30 years and the service today takes the cake. If some know, the high end Macadamia Nut products are locked up in a glass case. I wanted to purchase the Island Princess Chocolate Covered Mac Nut that was on ad this week. Along with my other items to purchase at the regular cashier, I asked Jayden ( a minor, whose register has a sign that alcohol may not be purchased at this register) that I would like to purchase the Island Princess Chocolate Covered Mac Nut product that was on ad. He relayed there is a customer service button to ring to have someone come and open the case. I relayed, I'm asking you, can't you help me? He then said what item and on what aisle it on. ?????? Customers do not take notice of the exact aisle the product they are inquiring about, nor do they want to be directed to go back to the aisle to push a service button to get another person to help me! WTF , I then told him, don't you guys study the ad for what's on sale this week so you know when customers inquire about them. He looked at me and said, NO. I told him, well you should. It seems that Jayden is not educated enought nor has been trained to effectively do his job. Or....does inquiries of this sort not within their job description anymore to help the customer with an guaranteed sale that contributes to his paycheck. Or...just plain lazy or ignorant due to lack of training. I asked if the Manager was on duty he said yes. In the meantime, another floor stocker came after having to be called by Jayden for assistance. Mind you the mac nut aisle was in line with his register. Apparently, Jayden does not know the lay of the store nor the what is on ad. Who works here and not know how to service the customer and yet have the nerve to respond negatively. Back in the day as a retail cashier in a Supermarket, before any digital technology, cashiers would be handed the following week's ad to study and memorize because there were no systematic bar codes with pricing and inventory accounting. Whenever a customer inquired about any item on the ad, we would know where it was located, how much it was on sale, and the price to ring up on the register. If we didn't know, we would leave the register if there were no customers in line and assist the customer to locate it (there were no customers in line behind me). If there were, we would call over the PA to have a stock person bring that product to the front so the customer would not have to leave to find it for themselves!!! I was unaware of the service button for the glass case. The impression that Jayden presented was that, there's a button to call someone for the items in the case and that I will need to get that person to help me (after he had already rung up my items). He did the right thing to call someone for assistance because he was clueless. The better response, if he was clueless (after I had referred him to look at the ad, and pointed it out which one I needed) , "I will get someone to help you", instead of there is a button you need use to call to open the case. These kids do not have the proper training and it reflects on the Manager of this store. This Manager should be embarrassed and without saying the employees must emulate the Manager's exact character. Auwé to this store!!! read more

Staff at the pharmacy need to be more up front. They aren't that informative. I waited in line they said it would take 20 minutes and I could walk around the store. So I waited. It wasn't that big of a deal. Then I stood in line and someone else told me to wait another 20 minutes. So I then again waited... after 40 minutes of waiting and them saying it would be ready, it was not. So I stood in line again only for the worker to be rude and have no respect or concern, and she said it would be ready the next day. Went and waited about ten minutes for them to tell me they didn't have it and they had to records on my order in the system even with my confirmed pick up email I received from them. The only saving grace for this whole experience was Hailey that helped me re do it on the self service kiosk. She was also dealing with a problem customer trying to return an item that was returnable while still giving me 5 stars for the service. 1 star for the glitch that caused me to wait and redo my order. It is a good selection of stuff. The complaint is they don't seem to care when we tell them that after two weeks or a couple of days that, the writing on the bottles of prescription drugs is all faded, and they can barely read. The man just shrugged and waved it off. That's a big NO because if someone can't read the prescription instructions, that means that they might take the wrong amount and possibly have severe health problems. The other complaint is that they want you to self-check out! That's bull because it'll be easy to trick the system and not scan something. Also, the system didn't want to take my two $10 bills. It says online that the pharmacy is open 24 hours. I drove up there at 2am to pick up my prescription and the store is closed. Will not open until 4am. Last time I came around noon and had to wait for an hour because they were on lunch break. I think that it's time to change to an online pharmacy. I will not get my meds right away, but they'll be home delivered for free, and I will not be wasting my time. read more

I went to get a tetanus shot and they refuse to give me service even though their website and other resources claim that they accept those who does not have isurance for a pricer visit. Dont waste your time coming here without insurance. The man i spoke with spoke to the man incharge of the pharmacy and he had been told that i cannot get my shot without the insurance even though their own site says that i should be able to, but i was denied access to the shot. read more

I went in today and saw all the self check lines and hate them but always wait in line for a checker. I had the worst service at Kapolei Longs pharmacy with worker Desiree LY and I think she needs to be retrained on how to help customers. I have gone there numerous times and this was the worst. I work in the customer service field as well for over 22 years and she seemed to be stressed out but you never take it out on customers. Her coworkers stepped to help her but what she really needs is how to deal with customers who are inquiring on why procedures are required then explain it to customers in a appropriate manner. I purchased a pair of reader glasses for $28 (1.50 strength) and later realized that I needed a stronger strength (2.00 strength) I returned to LongsDrug, store # 9317 on 3/07 @ 1400 to do the exchange - that is all I wanted to do no money back no nothing at all. I spoke with the cashier and she informed me to get the pair I wanted and any cashier could do the exchange. I went to the back of the store directly in front of the pharmacy and found the pair I needed and/or wanted which in fact was cheaper than the $28 I had purchased previously, price $25 and they were clearly marked on the display as such. I continued to the front of the store and went to do the exchange, the cashier then informed me that I could not do that. They had to refund then do a re-purchase of the item, I thought ok no worries. To my dismay the cashier then tells me that since I do not have my receipt with me that I will owe another $4.69 for the glasses that were already $3.00 cheaper than my originally purchased glasses? I asked her to explain to me and she said that because you did not have your receipt the store then will only refund me "the lowest price in the store" for those glasses? I told her the $28 glasses were the ones I was exchanging for the $25 glasses and so they are already cheaper off the get go. Then I have to pay $4.69 more? So I had her call the manager because she was so confused and did not know what she was stating at that point. The asian mgr came up to deal with this issue. I only refer to him as the asian mgr because he refused to give me his name and did not have a name tag on either. It was the mgr who was on duty 3/07 @ 1400 HST (hawaiian standard time). He said that because thats what the computer says that what it is. That is the answer I received from a senior member of management from your company? Great representation. And it only gets better from here. So I tell them emphatically I do not want the glasses and I want my money refunded as I am not paying more for cheaper glasses when I only wanted to exchange them to begin with. I go back to the display and I take numerous pictures of the display and funny thing is I also contacted an attorney friend for quick reference, I got the exact same pair of glasses that they refunded me only $21.99 because I did not have my receipt, I had the pharmacy gal do a price check for the exact same glasses - guess what $28 it was.... I checked all around the store as well and on the front windows and even at the cash registers that there is no notice to customers of this "refund the lowest price in the store with no receipt" this is not a common practice and without it being posted as company policy and/or procedure it is deemed unenforcable as well at the store level. So this is perfect act of corporate thievery and yes I have the proof I have all transaction receipts for this event and I also have the gift card and the pictures as I was advised to take to corroborate my statements. I have never had anyone speak to me and be so combative when they did not even take 2 seconds to see that this did not sound correct, nor was it correct and qualifies for the worst customer service ever. This place is HORRIBLE!! Pharmacy is always late from the time they quote you that your prescription will be ready, line is always long, seems like they are always over worked and understaffed. Had an issue with miscommunication within the floor workers and requested to speak with a store manager, an Aaron Joy came out and was RUDE!! His job was to diffuse the situation and his attitude made it completely worse! He does not belong being in a managers position. I wish I could give this place ZERO stars! I called the pharmacy inquiring about my vaccination record. I didn't wait long, but when someone answered the phone, they answered, "Hello." I was always taught that at a place of business, you should greet with location, your name, and "How can I help you?"But not here...The representative at the pharmacy proceeded with my request to look up if I ever got a certain vaccine at this location. When the representative said, they had no records. I said "Okay, Thank You." and was responded with a *click*. They hung up without another word. Apparently effective March 25, 2020 Longs is no longer accepting returns on non prescription medicine. I walk in 1:45am on March 25, 2020 and get denied when I tried to return a bottle of Tylenol which I purchased on March 20, 2020. I wasn't informed in advance and nowhere on my digital receipt did it say it. On the digital receipt it states Returns must be made by 5/19/2020. At the time of purchase, I was not informed of this "company policy". It was a shock to me to find out that they weren't going to accept my return. Way to go in earning a 1-star...would be zero if there was an option. Manager did not consider the fact that I was unaware of this "new policy" and the fact that it was so early in the morning that this "new policy" took into effect.
