This Walmart deserves only negative stars. With it's poor customer service and very little options to choose from, I definitely lost my respect for this store. When we walked in I noticed right away that employees were not trying to help. I literally had to ask a man who looked like a local to show me where things are. But the worst happened at the register. Me and my sister in law were paying separately, I payed first, nothing special. But when my relative was trying to pay they refused to sell her a bottle of wine asking for an ID. Well she doesn't have one, she is from Russia. I take the bottle and try to pay myself. Oh no, I cant because now they seen me and her together and we are in the same party! Ahahaha!!! What!! I asked for a manager, she comes over, saying all this crap about she hopes we enjoy our stay and mahalo and aloha and stuff like that!!! WTF??? Sell me the wine!! Well later after arguing for 10 min, my sister in law actually found a Russian licence where she had her date of birth, we gave it to the " management", they checked it by the book, and just when they had no other reason to not sell us the wine, they came up with another one. It sounded something like this:" we won't sell you the wine because we have pesonal reasons"! Come again! Cause I never seen a sign in any walmart that would say " we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone because we have personal reasons". Soo after asking them the same question 5 times on what are those reasons, the " manager" actually told me " i am done here." not ones in my 7 years in America I heard management in any store say I am done here. It's like you would go to Nordstrom and they would not sell you what you wanted and tell you they personal reasons! Well that's impossible! At last I of course would not recommend this store to anyone. I feel very bad for people who can't afford more expensive thing and have to shop here. read more

If they had negative stars I would use them. I have shopped Walmart on the mainland, Oahu and now Maui. It is my go-to store for all household goods since they are just so expensive everywhere else and when I moved to Maui, this was no exception. Everywhere else is almost double in price. I have to say that being the only Walmart on island shows because this is the worst Walmart I have ever been in. No competition means they don't have to try or care because they know you will be back. The first time I came here, I decided it was so bad that I would go to Kmart, which I never shop at Kmart because it is always a bad experience. Here was even worse and I had to go back to walmart. Every time I shop I leave without at least two things I came to buy because they are always out of stock. They were completely out of ALL razors..totally bare shelves for two months! Bare shelves of Paper plates, tissues, toilet paper, dental floss, tooth brushes, shampoo, and Conditioner. Totally bare shelves of toilet paper not one roll of any brand. I wound up paying $13 for a 6 pack at Walgreens ugh....every time I step into that store I wind up frustrated and saying "I can't wait for Target to be built so I NEVER have to step foot inside of THIS Walmart ever again!" It really can't happen too fast for me. If you are looking for souvenirs, clothes movies and other types of stuff you may have more luck but if you are buying for the home forget it. read more

Shockingly poor service and print quality on pictures for my dad for Xmas. Thanks crappy Walmart. Nice effort. A refund wouldn't have covered the serious lack of interest/experience it took three employees to print a single photo. Seriously disappointing when Walmart holds the market for such services. Ever since the plastic bags were ordered to cease by our County, most of the grocery stores, or stores period have changed the types of bags they use for customer groceries or items. Now Walmart took another path that is so greedy. They will not supply bags for their customers in Kahului, Maui. For some reason they want us to buy a bag and now not only do they not provide us bags for our items, we have to BUY one. Now they are making even more money for themselves. This is not right.....If I buy something from a store, the least they could do is offer a bag to put my stuff into. I feel they are very greedy and not thinking of their customers. They surely offer bags at their other stores, just not here. This sucks big time! They need to offer their customers bags to put their purchased items in instead of making them buy it (Kahului, Maui). read more

I'm very disappointed with this store. I don't visit it much because I prefer to pay more at Target because of the service and neatness of the store. I did stop in here the other day and every time I'm there I remember WHY I prefer to skip it. But this last time left me intrigued as to WHY are customers STOPPED and expected to stand in line at the door to show our receipt! I just stood in one loooong line to PAY for my items so WHY do I need to stand in another to show my receipt! This clearly shows that you think ALL customers are stealing. Especially when you have your employees chasing customers out the door who don't stand in the line when your employee is chatting away with another employee. This is ridiculous. Terrible experience nightmare, we went here last night to buy nintendo switch for my son birthday wish. As we opened the box this morning the nintendo was full of scratches front and back. So we went back to the store right after school to exchange it but unfortunately they can't exchange it because it's not match with the serial number. We did everything we can we gave the receipt that showing we just bought it that night, then came back the next day. They even check cctv if we are telling the truth and they did see us that we went here last night but still they refuse it and accuse us that we are exchanging it to old one. It's just so sad and disappointed that we loyal and honestly customers have to deal with the consequences. Even though we are just a victim here and didn't do anything wrong. And the assistant manager JEREMIAH and store manager WALTER doesn't seem to be care about this kind of accident because we didn't even received any apologies. So we just bought nintendo switch for $300 full of scratches.!! read more

This Walmart is horrible! The atmosphere is really bad which is typical of Walmart, but the aisles were poorly stocked and items were just thrown around. Several of the dairy aisles did not have a single item in them. Would not recommend. read more

The only time to every shop here is super early...or dead late! The parking lot is crazy! A lot of people dont know how to drive and alone the pedestrians dont look before they walk across the street! Customer Service sucks!! My first incident-I went to the babies department and was looking for a rocking chair which they didnt have any on the floor and noone was around in that department to ask if they had more in the back. So me and my other half walked over to the electronics department and asked for assistance. All we got for an answer was "Thats not my department I'm sorry"....So we asked to have someone page for an associate to get back to that department so we could get some help, they did and we went back and waited almost 30min for someone to come. When that person got there to help us, they said "ooh i have to check in the back to see if we have, and see if someone that is qualified to drive the forklift to bring it down"...she left and took another 15-20min. We were almost there for an hour only to have them tell us that we had to come back because they didnt have the personel to drive the forklift to bring it down. Second incident- After I gave birth to my first child, we went to walmart to buy a few necessities for our newborn. We are walking through the isles and a associate carrying a huge box to where she couldnt see over it or where she was going...almost walked right into my babies stroller which would have knocked it over completely. Or worse...have that huge box fall on top of my babies stroller which she was sleeping inside. All the associate could say was "Oh Sorry I didn't see you there" and then continue on her marry little way! Third incident- Wanted to buy a TV, they didnt have it in stock so they took my name down and told me they would call me when they received their shipment in a few days.....the NEVER DID!! Fourth incident- Their trying to be like Costco!! Having someone stand at the door and check your receipts upon exit??...But its not consistent. Someone is there sometimes....and what makes matters worse is they dont really check your receipt! There was several times my other half held something in his hand where you couldnt see, the lady looked at my receipt looked into my bag and just checked it off. Another time I had a return, the lady looked into the bag with my returns and checked my receipt off....which i then told her the items i just bought was in the bag i was carrying....all she said was "ok" and motioned me to go!!! I dont see what is the point of having someone there at the door checking receipts when their not even looking at it, just marking it and sending you on your way. Those associates should be in departments where customers actually need the assistance. And not having customers wait over 30min just for a question! I would honestly rather spend the extra gas and travel down to Kmart where I know they have the customer service...and people there ready to help you and not tell you "oh that not my department". Not to mention Kmarts shelves are ALWAYS stocked!! Just rediculous how poor customer service walmart has!! read more

I just wish they would open on time and if your the third car in line it took half an hour to just check in your car. I wish they would have their workers come 20 minutes before doors open to warm up computers and other machines because that's what they said they open later then what they post to open on the front of the doors of Walmart. The need a better system or need to be on time. And it only took me 5 minutes to check in when it was my turn which I waited 30 minutes. read more

Huge trek from the resort part of town. Your GPS will say 45 minutes, but with all the traffic lights it takes about an hour each way. The prices are much higher than Walmart on the mainland and the shelves are very picked out. Also, there is no fresh food there. If headed out that way, Costco is a much better option. Otherwise, there are great local supermarkets on the west coast , and the prices are only slightly higher. Save yourself a loooooong, disappointing trip. read more

Visiting Maui (Sept 2017), my family didn't want to spend too much on groceries since we were only there for 6 days. Knowing that Walmart typically has the cheapest prices, we decided to go there VS Target. Big mistake. We were looking at bagels (the 4 packs with the plastic ties) and all the bagels out had moisture in the bag. I'm not talking like from humidity, I'm talking like at the bottom of every bag had pooled water in it. As my family and I were looking through the bagels, trying to find one without too much moisture in the bag, we found a baby COCKROACH crawling all over one of the bags my dad picked up. In shock, he dropped the bag and the cockroach crawled over a bunch of the other bagel bags. I went to find an employee immediately to tell them what happened, and all the employee did was grab the cockroach with his hand and the ONE bag the cockroach was currently on( even though we told him that we saw it crawling all over MANY of the bags) and then he walked away doing nothing else. After that, we checked out with only the necessities we needed from there (putting back any loosely sealed food items) and refused to ever return to this store. You may be saving yourself a few dollars on items, but for your own health - go to Target/Costco/Safeway/FoodLand or just anywhere else. read more

I spend from 10:30 to 14:30 at the Kahului Walmart tire center to buy and have 2 tires installed! well, my own fault, since I could have been there (after a 2 hour drive from hana) at 6 am and stood in line then to shorten the wait. that's what I was told. being told and being told can be 2 different stories. the guy who took my order after only about a 1/2 hour wait was rather condescending and made me feel, or tried to make me feel, like a lucky person to even get my tires there. customer service? how surprised I was after the 3 1/2 hour wait, I guess they count on you spending more money in the store the longer the wait. but what I was surprised about was that when it was finally my turn, the installateur was a cool and friendly guy, even pointing out that the guy who took my order had overcharged me and he was denying the charge. that consoled me, or is this all part of their game? for the benefit of the doubt I would like to recommend mark martin. this happened on 4/20/2017. thank you mark, for whatever your reasons were to be kind. you rocked! read more
