I was on vacation and accidentally left all of my medications at home. Since I use CVS at home, I figured I should go to this Longs Drugs (Longs is owned by CVS), since it was the closest to my resort. Their pharmacy was very helpful with pulling through one open refill and with reaching out to my doctor to refill my other two medications, although that required a return visit. We also found it to be a great place for other personal goods we needed as well as affordable souvenirs. Overall, I'm happy that Longs Drugs was able to help me out! read more

We had discount coupons such as 40%off a reg priced item and$4 off a reg priced item. We spent time shopping in the store and picked up a few items that weren't on sale. They didn't have any sale price Or sticker in front of them. We made sure to pick out reg priced items so we could use our coupons. But when we went to check out, none of them scanned reg prices! They all showed sale! What a bait and switch scam! The store purposely did that so none of the coupons worked. That tactic to lure customers in to end up paying more should be illegal. On top of that, the attending staff couldn't help, or maybe didn't want to help, since my purchase was only$4, instead he stopped helping me and went over to help another customer who's buying a bunch of liquor which's obviously more costly. He had to call the manager over who didn't believe me when I told him the items were on sale (they rung up reg price). He had to bring me to the aisle where they're displayed and still spent a long time scrutinizing them!! Wasted half an hr in that junk store over a $4 purchase!! It was not that long ago since this Longs (known as CVS outside of Hawaii) was redesigned, so I was surprised to see it had been redesigned again since the last time I was here a year ago. Previously there were a lot of tall shelves; for those of us on the short side or use wheelchairs or scooters, it was difficult to see around the store and reach some items. Now there is a mix of short and slightly taller shelves, making it easier to see the pharmacy which is at the back of the store. Also many more items are within reach. Things have been moved around, too, so you may need to reorient yourself if you've been here before. The store still carries a wide range of goods, aimed both at residents and tourists. That includes souvenirs. Longs comes out with a weekly ad each Sunday; it behooves you to check the sales before shopping. Copies of the ad are posted near all three entrances (two from the outside, one from inside the mall). In most cases, you can buy up to five (5) of any sale item at one time. Prices on Maui are not inexpensive, so many residents stock up and save. Note: If you need to buy decongestant that contains pseudoephedrine, you will have to go to the pharmacy. You must show ID and the amount you buy will be tracked electronically. This is true regardless of where you buy the medicine. There is abundant free parking, even during the holidays and when the evening luau across the street starts seating. A pretty fair amount of accessible parking with cutouts at each of the external entrances. read more

I was shopping for souvenirs and the two ladies at the Honolulu cookie company recommended longs. Glad I listened because there were deals and discounts. They made a mistake the first time and charged me full price but when I brought it up, they apologized, and refunded the money to me. I saved almost $20! Workers here are very honest. He told me my refund will show up on my statement in 3-5 business days. Highly recommend if you are looking for Melona ice cream bars or macadamia nuts to bring home. For Inter-Island Covid testers: DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION. I've tested numerous times through CVS Health but the ones in Hawaii play by different rules. You have to self pay and there is no such option on the website. (If there is, it's well hidden). I called to confirm on two occasions, noting I was traveling inter island and both people I spoke to said I was fine and booked properly. It wasn't until I showed up to the parking lot (it's not a drive thru as it states) that the snotty woman told me I didn't book it correctly and my husband's and my appointment was cancelled. She was so clueless that she actually recommended to cancel and rebook as if that's possible same day... appointments aren't available for DAYS. The other fun bonus - they say results take 2-4 days because they have to fly them to a lab on Oahu. So you have to test no more than 72 hours in advance, but CVS doesn't promise them until 96 hours post test. Be prepared to quarantine at your destination. Do yourself a favor - Go to Minit Medical. They are so much nicer and more informed. And their test turn time around is way faster. read more

This Longs is located in the Cannery Shopping Center - and it has everything you could want, from hotel/condo snacks, to BBQ type food supplies. They also have a great variety of take home trinkets, shirts, flowers, shot glasses, candy, you name it! The prices are fair and the selection is vast. If you are looking for beer (hint, hint) they have a good selection. My biggest gripe is that the check out counters are SLOW. They embrace the 'aloha time' approach to everything, which you need to do also, otherwise you will be frustrated. read more

I have only been in 2 so far, this one and Kihei and they seem very similar. Prices are very reasonable and they have a wide selection of items. This one is located in the Cannery Mall in Lahaina. They have a huge lot since it is attached to the mall. There is also a Safeway close by so you could get your food there and most other non-food items you might need at Long's. Took some friends souvenir shopping. They wanted magnets and shot glasses , the very basic Toys and calendars. We parked at the Cannery Mall and went through the ABC store first. Longs is in the same mall so we went there second. ABC prices were insane compared to Longs. The same made in China souvenirs etc were up to 4 times more expensive at A B C . Not sure when A BC raised their prices but this was a real eye opener. read more

Okay, so I checked around. Best places to buy Mac Chocolates. Hands down. Don't be mistaken and buy at the grocery store first, which is always more. That's why the aisles are dead there! Duh. I shoulda' known. Oh and here's what you get: 1. Hawaiian Host all the way-check for deals. The best taste. 2. The Hawaiian Host MIx-the most expensive, but something for everyone. 3. Hawaiian Sun- this is for the rice crisp kind. If you haven't tried these, don't tell me I didn't warn you. 4. Mauna Loa nuts-the only kind. Damn, I think I left mine at the store. Try the onion. YUM. 5. Maui Style Onion chips-I don't even eat chips. These are amaaazing. Think kettle but better. Read the story. 6. Maui coffee- buy the 100% Maui. Don't cheap out here. Try the Mac one, too, for a change. 7. Mac Nut Kisses-better than regular kisses and don't taste weird like Hershey (Canadians will know what I mean). Tastes more like Hawaiian Host which means they are awesome. Seriously, one stop shopping. Why waste your life at Costco? Oh and the cashier even said "Aloha". A whole aisle of crack seed(no, not crack pipe crack - crack seeeed...if you don't know, google it)! Li hing mui EVERYTHING - gummy bears, mango, sour patch kids. Plus, they get plenty styles of arare(norimaki, tomoe, kakidane, wasabi peas, etc.) I got so greedy I bought a one pound bag and gorged until the MSG put me into a state of shock! They even had the spicy dried cuttlefish, but I couldn't get any cuz the BF said he would refuse to kiss me if my mouth smelled like cuttlefish! Not all Longs Drug Stores are created equal. I knew from my previous Hawaii trip that Longs was the best place to purchase souvenirs. However, I didn't know that their price points could still be different. Unfortunately for me, I purchased most of my gifts from the Longs in Kihei (where we were staying). I found out that at this Longs, the same items are anywhere from $2-$7 less! I suppose it makes sense because it is located in a mall and they make more sales, so they can afford to lower their prices. I wish we had known earlier, we could saved money on our gifts and souvenirs. The drive over would have been well worth the savings. Take note and save money, or buy more! read more

CVS Pharmacy (Long's Drugs) in Lahaina, HI was a nightmare to deal with. I ran out of my statin meds. They called my pharmacy to transfer the perscription and told me it would be ready in 2 hours. 6 hours later, I called and asked if it was ready. The lady on the phone said, "you have called the wrong number, I am the pharmacist. Next time call the pharmacy." She proceded to be rude and let me know once again that it wasn't the correct number and that she was a doctor... I simply had dialed the number Google gave me for the pharmacy there. Anyway, when she was finished with her soapbox, she said to pick up my meds in 1 hour. I did just that. When I got there they told me that my pharmacy had never called them back or faxed the perscription. Not sure why they told me to come in twice when nothing was ready. Then they called and said that insurance wouldn't cover it. I had told them I only needed 3 pills to get me through my vacation. I just ended up paying $20 for 3 pills. What a headache- next time it will be Rite Aid! read more

I grew up with Long's on the mainland in Fresno, CA. And I like that even though CVS bought Long's out in Hawaii they have keep using the name and format of Long's you don't need to have a loyalty card to get the advertised sales prices here. And one great thing about Long's is even though most everything is priced higher on the island you will get goods for a reasonable price here so stock on your basics and souvenirs and if you want just one box of Hawaiian Host Cara Macs they are going to have the lowest price on the singles boxes and just an ok price on the multi-packs. read more

Have been to this long's on the island of Maui 3 times now....and the more things have changed in Maui....Long's has remained the same. Great prices on Carmac's candy....88 cents calendar's which we always purchase....half off on holiday cards, souvenirs.....and tons of other items throughout the store. Need mouthwash....toothpaste.....shampoo....bodywash....lotion....or any other item you may have left on the mainland....Long's will have it and for a great price as well. The location is also great....because it is right inside the Lahaina Cannery Mall...so you can go shopping or just enjoy a Starbucks drink after you get what you need at Long's. This was once (and might still be in the local-sense) Lahaina's best one-stop shop since there were no similar stores in the area, but now they have competition from Walgreen's across the street. Longs still carries more local goods than Walgreen's, so that's their edge. Prices are very hit & miss with Longs, so shop around if possible. read more
