It's one of the best stops in town now to not only pick you up some musubis, but also some local manapua and pork hash too! One stop shop for beach bites! Thank you for the great variety of musubi, pork hash, sushi, ice cream and manapua. Only other great place for musubi is Foodland, but 7-11s variety is better. I don't touch musubi from anywhere else, because they don't compare, and turns out to be a waste of money and expectations. 7-11 does it just right. The employees here are always busy ringing people up and are very kind. Sometimes I wish they didn't have to deal with some of the knuckleheads that hang around outside the store. They currently make two types of crisps: beef and fruit. The beef line includes flavors of Original, Teriyaki, Spicy Teriyaki, Chili, Cracked Pepper, and Furikake. They come in two sizes of 1.6 and 2.5 ounces. The fruit line consists of Pineapple, Li Hing Pineapple, and Banana in 0.9 ounce pouches. Prices range from $7.99 - $12.99. BEEF CRISPS My favorites are Original and Teriyaki. Original is like traditional jerky with savory flavors. Teriyaki adds a bit of sweetness to the mix. Cracked Pepper is seasoned with bigger bits of peppercorns. Furikake, my most recent try, adds bits of nori (though they're undetectable due to being overpowered by the jerky's flavor) and sesame seeds which added a bit of toasted flavor and additional crunch. The beef crisps are cut paper-thin like potato chips and are easy to chew as they're not dense like traditional jerky. Nor are they oily which is even better. I have yet to try the Fruit Crisps... FOR SALE: The "factory" is an actual Shell gas station in Kahului, located on Kaahumanu Avenue across the street from the Maui Beach Hotel. The family that runs the gas station are the creators of this delectable snack, so you can purchase every item the sell right here. They also distribute to select stores in Wailuku, Lahaina and Upcountry Maui including Haiku. Or, buy online. OVERALL: The ultimate snack that goes great with adult beverages or by themselves. They have 6 different flavors; original, furikake, cracked pepper, spicy teriyaki, teriyaki, and Hawaiian chili. My favorite are the original and teriyaki. I've tried the cracked pepper and it burns your mouth pretty quickly. The Hawaiian chili is similar to the cracked pepper but it has a hint of sweetness to it. I can eat a whole bag in one sitting because it's that addictive!!! I came across this place at the Made in Hawaii festival. I haven't seen it distributed in any stores on O'ahu BUT you could purchase it online at $13/bag. If you're on Maui, they do not have a store of their own but it is distributed to the Shell gas station on Ka'ahumanu Avenue near Ka'ahumanu shopping center. They sell it at $11/bag.

The Hawaiian lady working this morning had a visit by her aunty this morning and her aunty dropped off some gardenias to her while I was in line to buy coffee. I jokingly said after her aunty left, "where's mine?" she said "my aunty gave me plenty, I can share with you," I told her "no, no I was just playing, you enjoy." She still insisted that I have one to take to work with me to smell and enjoy and told me to have a great day. The nori encased the entire musubi rather than being just a thin belt in the middle like how some places do, making for a clean eating experience. Highly recommended! The single slice of Spam, while thickly cut, was so lightly fried that it didn't bring out the true wondrous flavors that we Hawaiians crave, and tasted like it came straight out of the can. When I went to the pump, they were some of the highest prices I've ever seen on the island. I believe 5.19 a gallon in town. Really? I asked the cashier if he was aware the prices were not posted as he said yes, he was. He said that the owner was in a negotiation with corporate Shell...and that's the reason the prices aren't posted. Seems pretty shady to me. I won't be buying gas here again from someone who refuses to post gas prices from the street sign.
