Longs / CVS Combo store. Plenty of parking. I visited on Christmas Day. It was busy and many of the shelves were empty. I had no trouble finding the toothbrush that I was looking for. I'm glad I could use my CVS coupons here. The store looks dated. The cashier was nice. read more

Opening in 1938 as Longs Self-Service Drugs in Oakland, California, there are now only 70 stores still named in Hawaii. All others were converted to CVS drugstores, after the acquisition in 2008. This location in Kahului is within walking distance from the cruise port, and has a large selection of not only souvenir type foods but also groceries and beverages at expected prices. Our group of four came with many others after getting off of our cruise ship, and the store was well equipped to handle such a variable volume with most registers manned and operating. Ended up buying some Hawaiian branded candy, and others in our party bought some souvenir food to bring back home. The store also has an ATM which I took advantage of, and served as a good place to get picked up (either via a taxi or a rideshare). read more

When we come here we receive nothing but great service. Tge cashiers are friendly. Even tho they over charge you and you tell them to please check the receipt. They correct it without a problem. This pace has done great deals on Sundays so mage sure your check the app. Fur deals you can get. The more you save the better deal for you. Ib ashtrays mage sure i check the app before I head on in. So you never know what you'll be getting. Cove here if you need medicine to. They may not be cheap but they might have what you need. It's convenient for the people who are on the cruise ship. read more

This store was fine for what it was, which is a big drug store that had some great touristy items for cheaper than other places, especially considering it's tough to find cheap food in Hawaii. We scored a great deal on some souvenir Hawaii Calendars for folks back home, as well as some other small things to bring home. Also, since they are connected to the CVS you can use your rewards if you have any. They also have random odds and ends here. They even had legit 100% kona coffee (but it was behind a security case, so you gotta ask if you actually want some). I didn't use their pharmacy or drug services, so can't comment on that. Parking was easy, and the shop is located in a plaza with lots of other random stores and restaurants, so plenty to do besides just this. read more

This is to all Longs/CVS not only to this location. Beware to all people who did the membership, for extracare card. I called to their customer service I was passed to 3 people and problem wasn't resolve. They put 3 people name in one account which it doesn't make sense. Account owner name is different name. Email is in different name, card being charge to all membership is under different person name and her card being used to a membership she didn't subscribe, the point is the company automatically put her credit card without the owners permission. The 2 other persons name in the account did not have access to the owners card . So how in the hell CVS put her debit or credit card in the membership without her knowing and without her permission. This is very wrong and illegal. read more

This will always be my favorite Longs location as I grew up coming to this one exclusively. I still am not used to the "new" store set up ever since they merged with CVS years ago. Just like at the old Kahului Safeway that closed down, I preferred the old set up at Longs as I used to have all the aisles memorized and could get in and out in minutes. Now it takes me a bit longer to get in and out, but it's still leaps and bounds more enjoyable shopping here than at Walmart or Costco. Having only one Walmart and Costco on island makes for crazy congestion in the parking lot and in stores - just too overwhelming at times. Granted, Longs can get kind of hectic around holidays and sale days, but never to the extreme of the others. It's always nice being able to find your favorite snacks here. Recently I picked up some sweet popcorn/mochi crunch mix and mac nuts to take back with me to Georgia. They don't have many Hawaii brands of snacks in the South, so ever since I moved I've been missing them. My dear friend was sweet enough to send me two care packages this year while I was away, but I couldn't miss out on the opportunity to load up on some goodies while home. Longs has "long" been a fixture in Wailuku. If you are looking for some tourist gifts to bring home for friends and family, (candy, macadamia nuts tee shirts and etc) you can find them here at Longs. They are open 24/7 (except for the pharmacy). So you can stop off here whenever convenient. Why pay top dollar for trinkets at the airport or ABC store when you can get the same stuff for less here. read more

I love this particular Longs for several reasons: 1) great central location 2) lots of parking 3) stocked a lot better than some of the other Longs on this island especially on the sale items that we locals watch religiously 4) cleanliness 5) They usually have a lot of registers open especially when they are busy The number one reason why I love this Longs is that the old timers and Kupuna cashiers are the sweetest and they move faster than some of the other cashiers. We had a scheduled appointment for a booster shot and though there was a slight confusion we got it worked out. The booster vaccination was administered quickly and there was only the slight 15 minute wait afterwards. I used the time to do some last minute Christmas shopping . There was some good bargains and I can't wait to see if there are more after holiday specials. There were plenty of cashiers to handle the volume of shoppers too read more

After the mall added in TJ Maxx the parking lot can get crowded however there is still lots of parking. Handicap parking is located closer towards the O'Reilly Autoparts rather than Whole Foods. They have about 6 stalls available. What I love about Long's is that they are open 24/7 and that comes in handy. Sometimes you need something in the wee hours of the morning that you absolutely forgot and Long's can provide. Another great thing about Longs is their deals and savings. They make it easy to shop since anything on sale will have a bright yellow sign so you can't miss it. The deals are my favorite thing especially when they've got them on snacks and goodies. I've also found that Longs is the place to go if you want the different flavored Diamond Bakery savory and sweet crackers. I really can't find them anywhere else. This is the anchor store for Longs Drugs on Maui and is one of the original tenants. It has gone through a number of renovations over the years, but is still my favorite. The weekly sales appear in the local newspapers or can viewed online with the CVS app. It pays dividends to follow these ads because you can recognize significant savings. On occasion, this store's inventory clerk or manager will fail to mark the display on sales items. However, if I point it out to the cashier , and they find item in the ad, they always give me the sales price. Recently, I began paying closer attention to the coupons issued with my receipts. Often their computer will issue coupons for what you just purchased. (Other stores do the same in hopes you will return to their business.) If you are stocking up on items, don't buy everything at one time because you are likely to get a coupon at checkout. For example, I went to the Kehalani store to buy Neutrogena soap ($2.39 a bar on sale) this morning. At checkout I received an Extra Bucks coupon for $3 and a $4 coupon for cleansers. I had to go to Maui Mall, so I decided to stock up and buy more Neutrogena soap and used the $7 in coupons I received earlier. At checkout, I was rewarded with an additional $5 Extra Bucks coupon for spending $25 on Neutrogena products.(I guess their systems track this.) I ended up with $12 in savings from just these sale items. With the rising prices on consumer items, it really does pay to shop at Longs! read more

Longs is now owned by CVS which should be a plus for all, mainly because all your prescriptions and club card are linked nationwide. For you smokers, they've axed all tobacco sales. But this location is still 100% Hawaii Longs. It's been here for years and doesn't have the feel of current CVS stores. They are still the go-to place for local favorites and school supplies, long before Walmart ever entered the Hawaii market. I mainly patronize this place for grocery items which when on sale can go even lower than Wally's. The sale items are always conveniently located in the central aisle on easy to see square displays. They also have a very good selection of greeting cards, saving a trip to Kaahumanu Center and Hallmark. And the best thing? My Budweiser 30-pack cans are always on sale here! Service is friendly and helpful. Parking is plentiful and close by. Store is open 24-hours. read more

I have been in love with Long's Drugs for over fifty years. When I was a kid in the 1960's, Long's was my candy connection. You could get five nickel candy bars for 19 cents. I learned multiplication and division by calculating how many candy bars I could buy with my allowance. When I got a little older, I bought my first pocket transistor radio from Long's. A little later, I bought my first LP from Long's (Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane). Week in, week out, throughout my childhood I probably spent 95% of my allowance money at Long's Drugs. Visiting the Maui Mall Long's Drugs was an absolute highlight of my visit to Maui. For me, it was like a pilgrimage. Thanks to Yelp, I knew this was the one to visit. This location still has a lot of the original Long's feel. The center aisle with the square fixtures. The same tile floors. They still have such an eclectic mix of seemingly random products. You always find something to buy you didn't know you needed. They still have same wonderful sporting goods section with the fishing gear. The same creamy light bamboo colored cabinetry. The same comforting logo. It was such a blow to lose Long's on the mainland. The corporation that took over the Long's Stores sucks so egregiously I can't even bear to mention them in this review. I dearly cherish my memories of growing up with Long's Drugs. The incredible bargains, the wonderful employees, a very, very special place. Worst CVS on earth. The Manager George leaves the store without informing the Assistant Manager. If a problem arises (like today) chaos arises and customers suffer. 35 customers had to wait for a half hour in line until everyone was complaining. No one knew where George was. "He just comes and goes" the staff replied. The cashier took 21 minutes trying to enroll one customer in the CVS discount card holding up everyone in line. A second young cashier could not repair her receipt roll. "Clean the inside" another assistant replied. Who trained this staff? Who hired George? Who hired the regional director? Everyone should be replaced. I have never seen such pathetic business practices on Earth. Bring out some Mainland Pros! I am begging you! I bet this company will end up like Sears. So 4 years ago I was involved in an accident and shattered my spine. I've been going through all the motions to restore full movement to my buddy. Whenever I try to pick up my medication im told they are out and have to special order it. Take in mind it's a very common medication and mg. However, their pharmacy always makes me feel like I'm a bad person and their policies make it very difficult to get my medication filled without forfeiting half of my medicine, because they cannot fill my full prescription. I would ask can the head pharmacist order the correct amount monthly for so this pharmacy, so that those that are in need don't have to wait for special orders every month. At this point I'm ready to take my business elsewhere. read more

My favorite store on Maui! I'd give it 5 stars, but the Cvs change and planogram spoiled it. They are discontinuing some or should I say a lot of old school products only found at Long's. (Ex. Hai Karate after shave) So if your shopping for or with your grandparents or elderly person and certain hair dyes, or hair creams / pomades no longer on the shelf, don't be surprised if there not carrying the item b/c of their planogram for the store. They should just admit they won't fill pain medications. Period. As a physician prescribing post-operative pain medicines for my patients, my experience with this pharmacy has been terrible. The most recent example is when this pharmacy said they didn't receive the EScript I sent in (even though I had an electronic receipt verification from Longs), when I resent it, they then said my patient couldn't pay cash for her meds. When her primary doctor called the pharmacy to inquire about this "policy", the pharmacy said "actually we just don't have enough to prescribe." Looking at the reviews, it seems this has been going on for a long time. So it's got to be one of two things, either the pharmacy has lost their rights to dispense controlled substances, or the pharmacist is on some sort of power trip dictating who can get what. Either way, my office will no longer let our patients fill their prescriptions here. read more

Review about pharmacy staff; after making an appointment online for covid booster and flu shot, showed up and the pharmacy tech checking us in is antagonizing me because the covid appointment did not register; keeps telling me I have to have an appointment for the covid booster. The pharmacists are floating around behind her, hearing this convo and that she is getting me upset by constantly repeating herself that I need to make an appointment (after I already told her I did online). Pharmacists do nothing, don't step in to clear things up or calm the situation down. THIS IS THE WORST experience I have ever had with any medical service; I have worked in pharmacy about 20 years in small mom and pop pharmacies, large in-patient hospital pharmacies, and clinic pharmacies all over the state of Hawaii and I know how to treat people. This woman (Allison according to PharmD Lauren) needs training and should NOT BE PLACED IN A PUBLIC FACING POSITION. I AM NEVER coming back to this AWEFUL pharmacy. Even Walmart, as busy as they are, have PLEASANT public facing personal in their pharmacies. Yes we live in Maui where there is a shortage of staff for everything.. yes we get it... we live here and know this. We are PATIENT but do not expect to be treated like a small child, antagonized and waste our time by coming in for a scheduled appointment only to be turned away. read more

This drugstore is open 24 hours, which is great, and it is in a convenient central location. Product selection is good: they stock the basics and then some. Deal and sale prices are good as well. Whoa. I needed to make a quick purchase to get a graduation card. Walked into longs and oh my gosh! My quick find to a hallmark card was going to be "which aisle do I start?!" All the shelves has been either shifted to the left, right, center, front, back....whew... Just dont be alarmed....give yourself some time to hunt for the items. Even their checkout stations has changed; its even positioned at an angle. I'm really excited to see the final layout when all this renovation is done. read more

I have missed you so much Longs. I miss your 60's style white tile that my shopping cart glides over effortlessly while wandering through each aisle. But I'm no fool ... I know you belong to the evil CVS empire, and someday -- like the others, you will be transformed into a ghetto pharmacy just like the others have on the mainland. You will replace that tile with cheap indoor/outdoor carpeting that will instantly stain, and will manage to soak up the random fragrances of dirty feet, oil, and pickle juice. But right now you are still Longs, even though your price tags say CVS ... you too will transform in time. Kong's is great been shopping there my whole life, I enjoy the sales , and how I can get what I need quick even my vitamins

If you've ever played football games on PlayStation in the early 2000s, there was always that one play with that one player that always worked for a much-needed first down. With me it was the Atlanta Falcons using Mike Vick to scramble for a 1st down. Well, Longs Drugs was strategically placed next to our hotel which made getting supplies extremely easy. And of course they had everything we needed. As we're active people they had water, sun screen and Vaseline. (I'm not weird, the Vaseline is used for running long distances) But they're open 24 hours a day which is awesome. And the place is always cold inside. In the mornings you're basically walking into an igloo. They carry fresh bananas and lots of other food also. I didn't know they were affiliated with CVS. So your membership works for both places. read more

For all the Maui visitors looking for souvenirs, skip the ABC stores and stop at Longs Drugs at the Maui Mall (or other locations in Hawaii). You know this is the place to go, when all the locals buy their omiyage (gifts for family/friends) at Longs. They have weekly specials on Hawaiian coffee, chocolate covered macadamia nuts, and local cookies. These are the standard omiyage to take back to the mainland. There's also a pharmacy, photo developing center, and the usual drugstore items. Some even have local produce. The Longs in Hawaii are very different than the ones on the mainland. The Longs in Hawaii are always packed with shoppers, especially on the first day of the weekly specials, whereas the Longs on the mainland are pretty empty, only needing one or two checkout stands. The Longs in Kahului has about 15 checkout stands so you can tell how popular and busy it is. read more

This is where I do my souvenir shopping before my long flights back to Houston. I always stock up on my menehune macs - the chocolate covered toffee coated macadamia nuts and coffee from Long's. You can also get a lot of other local delights such as dried cuttlefish and arare. One of my dear friends loves the sour gummy candies covered in li hing mui powder - so what kind of friend would I be if I didn't return with a bag full of them, just for her?
