Stopped in for butter and was blown away by the size of the store, the cleanliness and the variety/ selection of goods ( including some cool Hello Kitty ube mochi snacks, which of course I had to have)... The alcohol selection was huge- including the wine!

No one working service office. Lazy or something. Come on guys!!! I was waiting 30 minutes or more longer. Come on guys. Get back to work.

This store was a little on the congested side. Parking was mostly full and it took some time to find a spot to park. The cashier that I stood in line for was slow and others at different checkouts got through much faster than I did. There was plenty of fresh fruit and flowers for sale. There's a huge variety of cheeses and alcohol for sale. The fruit was also in great condition, no immediate mold on raspberries. So that's a huge plus. It's not a low price store, definitely on par with a Carrs or Albertsons

Safeway stores are more expensive than most of their competitors. This branch in Lahaina is no exception. Still, there are good deals to be found if you look hard enough. Also, make sure to download their App and sign up. More savings can be found there as well. The store itself looks spic and span clean. Merchandise is well organized. Shelves are fully stocked. Cashier was cordial.

Good grocery store in the community! They have good fresh products and ready to serve our kitchen tables! Pretty convenient to have it here! It's located just next to the mall so it's very accessible! Love it Keep up the good work and good service! Cheers

Great stop in Lahaina on the way to our Kaanapali hotel. Good beverage selection. Nice produce. Good snacks, even some nice local items. Cashier was friendly. Floor staff was helpful. It's a large Safeway with a great selection of all your vacation needs.

I like to shop Safeway. This Safeway in Lahaina is huge and it has everything you need. The young lady working in the floral section was super friendly. She assisted me with my balloon order. They were limited to only 1 congratulations balloon. It's a bit more expensive than usual but I had to have them. $6.99 for the Mylar Congrats & $7.98 for 2 simple balloons . If I'm in need again, I'll definitely stop here.

Thank you to the bakers who made our wedding cake happen on time. There was a mishap on the order and it was going to be a day late for pick up. The aunties in the kitchen accommodated us and handled it very well. It wasn't their fault that the order was placed wrong, but they knew how to handle the situation. I got to pick up the cake on time for the decorator to complete on time before the wedding. Thank you for the amazing customer service and being so professional. Their cake displays looked delicious and stunning. They make the best tres leches cake in town. We also ordered a sheet of tres leches along with our wedding cake and it was phenomenal. The kitchen looked well maintained and clean. We definitely recommend Safeway Bakery if you need a cake. Thank you for the great customer service.

The fresh poke from the seafood counter is tasty - love the scallops and spicy salmon!

Staying at a condo nearby with a kitchen? Tired of paying to eat out? Forgot to stop by the Costco by the airport and don't want to drive all the way back? (Or maybe you don't even have a Costco membership...) Well Safeway has you covered. It's a good alternative stop for groceries... and I like the poke here. Don't get me wrong - Foodland is a great local option and Tamura's is the GOAT of deli poke shops on this side of Maui, but if I need to grab cheaper groceries then the tubs of poke from the seafood counter are enough to kill 2 birds with one stone. While some poke are previously frozen, they do have fresh options that are clearly labeled. If I just want the typical options like spicy salmon... I get it here. It's good and consistent. The scallop poke is also great with the sesame flavor. Docking a star because the parking lot is a bit of a mess when it gets busy, as there are other popular stores in the area like ABC stores. This Safeway seems to run out of gallon tanks of water quickly... we came late at night when they were restocking, but whenever we stopped by during the day I would notice they ran out, so something to keep in mind.

Plenty of parking though as it's on a private lot. Let me tell you, the poke here is fire!!!! So fresh!!! Found this place here through Yelp, and the other Yelpers definitely did not disappoint. The store is super clean, and each staff member I encountered here were all very polite, and helpful. When you walk in, the Poke section is directly to your left. When we arrived, there was a line and for good reason. They had about 5 or 6 different kind of Poke's the days we went 7/29 and 7/31. I had the Spicy Ahi and the Tamura's one day. Then the Shoyu and Chili pepper the next. All which were extremely fresh and flavorful. Great to eat by itself, or you can elect for a Poke bowl, which gets you two scoops of rice with furikake and sesame seed (if you want) and two choices of poke. You won't regret it if you're a poke fan! We came here twice to satisfy our poke craving. Crazy how it's a large liquor and wine store, which I'm sure they get a lot of customers for. But the days we went, it mainly were both locals and tourists stopping in for just the poke. Just a heads up, I overheard a lady ask "will you have more tomorrow"? To which the employee said, "yes we have enough fish for the next 3 days" which tells me that they do run out or have days where their poke bar is closed. The poke bowl was $14.99 each and completely worth it. Best Poke I've tried so far in Maui! Give them a try!

It starts at their building in Lahaina, which has a little café/coffee shop, plenty of chocolate for sale, and a rooftop experience that looked interesting but we didn't get to try. By the time we finished the tour, the kids had reached the "we have successfully experienced enough things today" portion of the vacation. Fair enough. From there, you take a fun little ride out to the cacao farm, and that's where this became much more than "let's go eat some chocolate." Our guide, Andrew (I'm about 95% sure I'm remembering his name correctly!), was fantastic. He seemed genuinely interested in cacao, the process, the company, and what they are doing there. That makes such a difference. He talked about how cacao is grown and processed, the history behind Kuʻia, and a little about founder Dr. Gunars Valkirs and his rather fascinating path to chocolate. Then, of course, there was the tasting. Lots and lots of little squares of chocolate. This is educational work I was willing to undertake. Unfortunately, I can't tell you which particular varieties were my favorites because apparently I was too busy eating them to take adequate scientific notes. What I can tell you is that there really wasn't one I disliked. What surprised me most was how much flavor there could be in chocolate that wasn't buried under a mountain of sugar. The differences and complexity of the cacao actually came through, and it made me think about chocolate completely differently. The chocolate sample they gave us back at the counter was also fantastic, as was the coffee drink we ordered. My only regret is that we didn't buy more chocolate before leaving. Be warned, though: apparently this tour has side effects. I went in expecting a fun Maui family activity where we'd learn a few things and eat some chocolate. I left wondering about cacao varieties, fermentation, processing, climate, chemistry and several other questions that absolutely nobody in my family asked me to investigate. It's been a few weeks and I'm still going down the rabbit hole. Five stars. Great guide, fascinating process, excellent chocolate, fun for the family, and potentially hazardous to anyone predisposed to acquiring new interests while on vacation.
