This is a good location with tons and tons of good finds for a moderate to low price. For a little bit I thought in the makeup and skincare area that I was being followed around by the associate as she walked up and down these aisles behind me. When I left and came back I saw that she was just putting things away just a little robotically. Lines are long at peak times but outside of that it wasn't too crazy. This is my happy place on Maui....always great bargains to nab and I can use my bank points to buy gift cards to spend here. Today I was looking for summer clothes, and some winter sweaters for a vacation. I found both and the sweaters were on sale which was even better! Great guy at the changing rooms helped me sort out my mountains of try ons, and he popped up and rang me up later too. He was friendly and proficient and just a nice employee. I've never met a bad employee here. They are always friendly and helpful, every visit. There was plenty of stock in, and lots of choices, and I really enjoyed my visit. Only thing they were short on was greeting cards. I'm so glad this store opened on Maui, an upgrade from Ross/Walmart/Target clothing and goods at fantastic prices. What's not to like? read more

We shop here regularly because they have great deals and a pretty good selection. I've gotten some furniture here but mostly household goods and decor. I have always had great service here and the isles are kept pretty neat and organized. I can always find sales staff stocking or straightening merchandise. read more

They have a good selection of clothing and household stuff. Very much like an upgrade on Ross. Prices are moderate compared to big department stores. Lots of easy parking in a convenient location at the Maui Mall. They also carry a lot of pet supplies, such as toys and beds. read more

TJ Maxx, like Ross is always a hit or miss for me. However, there are other times that I go in looking for something & end up with more. Pricing & brands are pretty one up from Ross. It's literally your one stop shop & brings your creative juices to light. I will say though that recently I haven't bought any clothing. The selection isn't as broad & I'm especially bummed about the lack of "junior" dresses & shorts. I've actually bought several dresses previously, but recently when I've gone, there are just a handful. I get it, usually off season there are more, but even this past winter it was slim picking. Also, unlike Ross they don't carry or very rarely have size 5 footwear. I'm sure on the mainland it's a minority size, but in Hawaii there are a lot of us with small feet. I do like though that their work out equipment section has expanded to more then just yoga mats & bags which is nice. I've since picked up weights & a belt. Otherwise, I will say that I love coming here, especially for gifts & grabbing little things to put together baskets. read more

It is not every day you walk into a store in Hawaii and get such exceptional service, as I did the other day at the Kahului location. A big shout out to Abby C the manager and Jamie C , for making my experience the best to date. Jamie helped me find exactly what I was looking for and Abby even offered a discount for a tiny imperfection. They made sure my new sexy end tables made it into my car without incident. Maui's first and only TJ Maxx store, I come here every so often to browse and see what's new. The store is always well organized and clean so you can find things easily throughout their various aisles. They also have a clearance section with a bunch of different knick knacks located at the back corner of their store. My favorite things about this shop are the notebooks and planner selection. They carry some really cute designs that I haven't seen anywhere else and most of them are affordably priced. I also love that they carry furniture and home decor. They seem to have a rustic country farmhouse style going on and I dig it. There's a lot of super cute pieces from chairs, to drawers, to artwork. There's also candles, wooden storage crates, lamps.. the whole shabang! The best part is when the holidays roll around and they have themed products on display to go with whatever holiday it may be. Right now it's all fall/halloween themed and I needed to exercise a ton of self-control to not buy anything. They had the cutest fox garland and fox figurines. Just really really cute stuff to decorate around the house! They are priced higher than their competitor down the road, so I don't often leave with too many things (hence the 4 stars). However, I've scored a bunch of great deals on after holiday clearances which is always fun! Lastly, customer service is pretty on point. I received prompt assistance when I requested a reprint of a receipt that I had lost more than a week prior and needed to get a reimbursement for. They were unable to print it due to technical difficulties, but I was able to take a photo of their computer monitor. I'm really not into stores like this. I don't like rummaging through clothes with my head tilted sideways and working my fingers to the bone. I like to see the same clothes in different sizes and colors on one rack. Yes, I am a true blue Virgo, which doesn't help the fact lol. That said, this is Maui's first TJ Maxx, and they're going to do great here. Discount stores usually do. The store is clean, of course on day one, organized, of course on day one, and easy to maneuver through. The prices were low on everything I saw; bedding, clothing, housewares. There wasn't a big selection of men's dress clothes though. And there were so many people in the store so I totally missed the pet section. Service was "opening day friendly" as I like to call it, and won't last long. Maui store service sucks. Except at Target lol. Parking is free and plentiful because they're part of the Maui Mall. We'll see how they do in a few months. They may just earn a 4th star! read more

This TJ Maxx store is the first on Maui, in the Maui Mall.........(Oahu already has (3) TJ Maxx stores - Ward, Pearlridge, & Pearl City), and when you go to these types of stores, you shouldn't have high expectations. Basically this kind of store is a hit or miss........if you're looking for something in particular, and just so happen to be at the right place, at the right time........believe me, you will find a great deal! Other times, don't be disappointed if you are looking for something in particular, and cannot find it, because TJ Maxx, as well as Ross Dress for Less, or Marshalls probably gets their deals from various manufacturers as overstock, dead stock, or irregular overstock. I was on my way home one day when I decided to pop into this store (as I was eating a very late lunch across the street from the local Taco Bell). Upon walking into the store to take a quick look, I found a really great deal on some Starbucks coffee! (Check my pic out). The coffee on the left, I bought from TJ Maxx for $5.99 for 20 oz. of coffee...........the coffee on the right, I bought from a Ross Dress for Less Store on Oahu..........same price $5.99, but I only got 12 oz. of coffee. So now gang, you can clearly see I found a great deal at TJ Maxx! But of course..........like I said before......it's really a hit or miss.......... If you don't mind riffling through racks of clothes, this is your jam. They have a nice variety of makeup, hair products, sunblock, tweezers and the like. I found a makeup set with 6 eyeshadows and 3 blushes for $3. Such a great deal, since I love to experiment with makeup without having to pay for department store prices. I also found super comfortable jellies in size 6. Which of your like me, you know that's the hardest size to find. They also have a variety of cleaning products & miscellaneous home decor. I also like to shop here for the food; like coconut oil, apple chips, even jelly bellys. They have a huge selection of pet supplies, baby clothes and travel necessities. I browsed through the baby section for my nephew. They didn't have much of a clearance section. But they did have beanies, hats, and a lot of cute tops. read more

I usually love T.J.Maxx and I spend a ton of money in this store since there's pretty much nowhere else to shop on Maui. I was excited for the "members only" weekend only to find out they were letting everyone in and the store was pretty much picked clean. If you are a regular TJ maxx shopper and seen what these stores are like on the mainland I find it hard to believe that you can give anything less than a 5* for the Maui TJ Maxx. I've seen some clean TJ Maxx stores....rarely....like the ones in Georgetown DC and Friendship Heights MD. This store is on a whole different level. The fastest way to check the store for cleanliness is to go directly to the clearance section. Usually, it is a mess because customers throw things around all over the place. Not here. The clearance section is super organized here. The funny thing is one TJ maxx employee commented on how he thought this store should be better organized. Obviously he hasn't seen how bad it gets on the mainland lol. I bet you this store is the cleanest TJ maxx store in the US. Employees here should be super proud. Since the TJ Maxx hasn't been open for too long, I don't think Maui shoppers understand or appreciate how great of a place this is for a no-frills all-year around discount store. The store had numerous bargains including theory shirts knocked down from $180 to about $25-$29ish, lacoste shirts at $12, and hugo boss dress shirts at $25-$29 (knocked down from $180ish). I ended up picking up a $45 nike dri-fit activewear shirt for $5. These types of bargains are very difficult to come across in the mainland. As for other notable products not on the mainland, I really liked the Hawaiian-local made section from which we picked up a guava jam (so good). There were other items such as chips, honey, chocolate, and coffee and the sort. It's a great place to pick up some gifts on discount when returning back home. Lastly, and most importantly the staff....you gotta take a look at my pictures. Noel, who is waving his hand, is the friendliest TJ Maxx employee I have seen in my life. Maui has a lot of Maxxinistas! This is one more retailer that needed to open on Maui. This new store is part of Maui Mall's renovation and expansion. After being sold by the original developer A&B who built the mall in the early 70's, it was sold to Alberta Development in 2014. Just like another discount store across the street, TJMaxx offers designer merchandise from 10 -50% off. The store layout is like most TJMaxx stores, with a large selection for women and home furnishings, a small section for men. The quality and selection is a lot better, although you still have to rummage through the racks to find what you want. Pricing is also a little higher that the place across the street, but you know it is worth the price. read more

Finally made my way to check out TJMaxx. I had scored a gift card from a friend and wanted to go use it before Christmas. I went in and asked the associate how to check the balance on my GC. She pointed at the mile long line and told me that I could stand in the line and ask an associate when I got to the front. Uh, what!? That would be a big fat NO. I was already losing hope in this store. Moving on... I had the next associate ask if I needed help finding anything and I explained that all I wanted was to find the balance on my card. She said "no problem! Let me go scan it for you!" Finally! Customer service. Score. There is so much variety in that store. Everything from wallhangings to athletic clothes, dog toys to cooking utensils, office supplies and shoes. I was really pretty impressed. I found some cool things that never seen before and they were priced pretty decent. Lots of great ideas for gift giving. Everything was pretty well organized and prices were clearly marked on most items. I got some really cute things and made a mental list a lot of other things that I will come back to get it. Oh and PS. My birthday is in January and anything in the beach decor section is on my list. Ha! The staff was really friendly and super helpful. at one point and associate Sunday with my hands full of things and went to get me a bag to put my items in. So polite and such a great way to get me to buy even more! Ha! Really liking this TJ Maxx. I they come out with more Hawaii/Maui inspired items. Keep it somewhat local. read more

A good TJ Maxx Store. I've been a fan of TJMaxx stores for years and was so happy when I heard they were bringing a store to Maui. They have the best selection of name brand merchandise at discounted prices. The store is clean and if you need help it is easy to find an associate to help. There are nice clean dressing rooms with helpful friendly associates. They have a single line check out that moves quickly. My only complaint is that they are heavy on Junior sizes​ and styles and not enough regular, plus size women​s lines and no petites! read more

There is nothing special about this TJ Maxx unless you are a HUGE fan of shopping here. It is fairly new so that means it is clean, well lit, and the prices are reasonable, however, the parking is scarce so be aware of that. I was a bit disappointed with the selection of many of the items they have but like I said earlier if you shop here frequently it may not be an issue for you. I found this store to be well organized, very clean, and with a great variety of household goods, clothing, gift food items, including coffee, honey, jams, candy, etc, and more... I love TJ Maxx's anyway (I'm from L.A.) but this one really did have that "aloha" spirit...the clerks were very helpful and friendly --I also noticed they take care in their merchandise displays! I can spend hours in here buying stuff I don't need. The items in here are great quality...even the snacks. There are a variety of spices, too. There is also so much work out gear! No, I don't really work out but one day I will and when I do, I will definitely get all my athletic wear here. I prefer TJ Maxx over Ross any day! For one thing, it is much cleaner.
