Oh it had been a minute since I got to sport a Maui Built tee…read more The selection was vast and the staff there was very friendly and helpful. I also loaded up on some stickers for the car and the bike helmets. Too bad they were out of the "Filipino" logoed tees. It's a great place to stop by after arriving onto the island from the airport to "gear up like a local".

You just lost me as a long time customer and supporter. My Ohana and I have been supporting your…read morestore for 10+ years. We are Kama'aina. Almost every time I shop at your store, we show our local IDs to get the 20% kama'aina discount. We spend upwards of $600+ every other month in your Kahului and Kihei stores. I am a Kama'aina. I look local. I sound local. I split my time between CA and Hi for work. My work requires me to have a CA drivers license, I shopped at the Kihei store two days ago and the employees recognized me and gave me the 20% Kama'aina discount. Today I shopped at the Kahului store. Before checking out, I asked the two clerks if I could get the Kama'aina discount (20%). Both said yes. After checking out, I looked at my receipt and noticed I only got a 10% discount. I asked the clerk why it wasn't a 20% discount. I shared that I just shopped at the Kihei store and was given the 20% discount because they recognized me as a regular kama'aina. She said there is a new policy at the beginning of the year that Kama'aina without a HI drivers license would only get 10% discount. I immediately asked the clerk to return my items. I told her I'd come right back with someone from my Ohana to get the 20% discount. I was abruptly told that no returns are allowed. I didn't even move 2' and wasn't allowed a return. I get it that rules are made to be enforced because there are malihini that try to get the Kama'aina discounts. But come on - it's clear that I'm a local - who splits his time between CA and HI and has to have a CA drivers license for work. I try to support local whenever I can. I spend a lot of money in your store and am always buying gifts because I like your brand. However, my extended Ohana & I will no longer be supporting your brand. Many of us are long time supporters. No more.

Hands down one of my favorite shops on the island! The clothing was one of my biggest highlights. I bought one of the cutest pareos/sarongs I have ever had and the owner of the shop designs the fabrics and clothes! The dresses were really nice and as someone who is on the thicker side, I like that their pieces were truer to size. The prices justify the unique and beautiful work. They had a lot of lovely handmade jewelry and I had to snatch up these cute beaded earrings that I wear all the time. Prices for jewelry are so affordable for gold filled and handmade. This is my go-to for cute gifts anytime I am in Maui! Everyone should definitely stop by.

But what I like best about this shop is the locally made aloha wear. There are both men's and women's clothes made in Wailuku. The clothes are quality made and very modern in taste. Prices are reasonable. The saleswoman who helped me today was super friendly and helpful! I appreciated her courtesy. I liked this store so much, I went to get my cousin so she could shop here and see all the beautiful clothes. So why the 2 stars out of 5 stars? When I brought my cousin to see the items that I was raving about, another employee behind the counter was talking to another customer. Apparently she was telling him the positives and negatives of living in Maui. That seemed really nice and helpful to him. But the employee started to tell the customer how horrible it is to live in Honolulu and continues to bad mouth the city. Ummmmm.... Both my cousin and I just spent $500+ in your shop and we are both born and raised in Honolulu. We both think Honolulu is a pretty great place to live. Not cool to talk badly about another city - especially if you are 20 years old (she told the guy that) and haven't lived in Honolulu for an extensive time. Unprofessional. I don't think I'll be returning here to shop and I don't think I'll be giving any recommendations to come here either. P.S. my yelp reviews are primarily (90-95%) 5-star reviews because I want to support and encourage businesses in a positive way. This was an exception.
