The one thing that I loved about the COVID pandemic because there were a lot of negative things about the pandemic was all of the drive-up shopping options. Walmart did a great job with this speedy convenient way of making purchases during the pandemic and I love that they are still making this option available today. My only problem is sometimes it's hard to find where the pickup area is LOL.... At this location the the Walmart curbside pickup area is on the opposite side of the store entrance under some beautiful trees. If you enter the parking lot from that side of the building you will have to literally go upstairs to Sams Club turn around and come back down the ramp to get there. If you enter from Keeaumoku Street you will need to find your way to the far side of the building. Once you find it you are set. This Walmart parking lot is a hot mess....There are always so many shoppers and it doesn't matter the time of the day, but there are lots of parking stalls Thank you Walmart for continuing this great service..... read more

Never order delivery from this place. The customer service is terrible they send items that are not even close to what you ordered. I ordered green tea, Gatorade, meal replacement shakes, and a few other personal hygiene items. I was delivered 4 5/pack bags of spicy ramen!!! No one is available to deliver proper items you have to wait 10+days for refund and reorder. This Walmart location is like the busiest location in Hawaii. It always seems like it doesn't matter what time you go, it's always crowded. Walmart only allows service animals in the store and yes I have one. A dog. We go in the store with his service harness on. Clearly his harness reads service dog. Every single time I walk in this store I get questioned if my animal is a service pet. I guess they can't read. I get it, I comply. However while browsing in the store I come across a few dogs, in strollers or just walking around with no vest/harness and they try lunging at my dog for no reason. Really? How are these dogs coming in? Well. Besides the animals, this store is a cluttered mess, it's busy and there are people trying to walking every where it seems like every one is in each other way. The self check out lines are long. Most of the items are reasonable (I think) but this is not a store I will go back to visit frequent. They did renovate the store also so things did move around so finding items became a little more difficult. read more

I'm not a Wal-Mart shopper, but when you're on vacation and need to buy gifts to bring home in the Mainland, we made it a stop to look for gifts and my friend was looking for a particular item that he couldn't find at Long's and ABC. The store is located on Keeaumoku St and has a large free parking lot. I used to Wal-Marts being in the suburbs and not being in the urban city center area. As you walk in, you have a large section of Hawaii souvenirs of all types. The next section is where we here for, a large section of macadamia nuts, candies, coffees, cookies, jams and syrups. I bought several boxes of chocolate macadamia nuts, which was cheaper than at the aforementioned stores. I'm sure Wal-Mart is a shopping option for locals. But for tourists from the Waikiki, it could be a little trek to get here. But if you can find you way here, the savings might pay off for your gift shopping needs. read more

The place is busy, seems popular with parking, which is very convenient! Made a quick stop since they have parking for their customers here. It's a pain to go anywhere and have to look for a parking spot. Came to get some melatonin for our flight home, the slow release kind. Found the whip body towel, these are used at the Korean spas after a soaking to slough off your dead skin. Shredded squid. I am sure the other flight mates would love the smell of these, better not. Grabbed some nuts, simple, clean and easy to eat on the plane and filling too. They have Coca-Cola with coffee blended. I have no idea. Is it one or the other doesn't have enough caffeine. I will say that there's a lot of Asian inspired snacks, food, and drinks and other household and accessory items here. It's right by where we've been eating The past couple nights. There's been A whole neighborhood of Asian restaurants in the vicinity too. read more

I place multiples of the same item on the conveyor belt. The employee, an older haole lady with long gray hair, doesn't count and assumes how many I purchased. She guessed and charged me for 4 instead of the three I have. Then with a knee-jerk reaction, as if she has done this time and time again, she says go to customer service. I then wasted 30 minutes of my night in the line. The employee should be retrained to 1. Ask the customer how many they have. 2. Learn to count the items themselves. I see this as two failures that occurred because the employee went against common sense practices and possibly some type of store policy. This is only frustrates because I normally do HER job and actually do self-checkout... yep I do my part working for Walmart without pay but, also without errors. Elites and others stay away from her lane or you too can waste 30 minutes of your evening in the customer service lane. They should do the right thing and give her a job where no one knows if you make a mistake, like in the air traffic control tower or charge nurse in an inner city E.R. Detroit and Chicago come to mind (I am being sarcastic...Please don't give her those jobs) read more

When visiting Hawaii we love to visit WalMart or Costco as it is a cheap place to get our basic needs and souvenirs! This is a regular WalMart, near the Ala Moana center. They've got covered parking and like most WalMarts, they are almost always busy! Like I said, great place to stock up on staples like water, snacks, and whatever else you forgot to bring from home but we especially love this place as they have very affordable souvenirs- macadamia nuts, pancake mix, postcards, necklaces, flowers, etc. Definitely a cost saver compared to the other places you could buy souvenirs! read more

When in Hawaii for souvenirs, we actually go to the Walmart's here. It's well stocked and more selections. Good selections of trinkets, souvenirs, silverware, jewelry and Hawaiian dresses and towels. Just the ambience is different in these Walmarts then in the mainland. I just like shopping for summer clothes here. It's not trashy. Definitely a better Walmart than our area in the Bay Area. I decided to visit Walmart because I wanted to see what the store had to offer in Hawaii. The first thing I noticed was an L&L Hawaiian BBQ area. Most Walmarts would have a McDonald's or sometimes Subway. I thought that was pretty cool. While shopping, I came across the Aloha Maid Fuji Apple canned drinks. They were so delicious! I came back here to buy two 6-packs. They were placed into my suitcase to come home with me. I also purchased Spam. Back in California, the only Spam flavors we have are the Original or the Less Sodium kind. I selected the Hickory Smoke and Jalapeño flavors. It was interesting how they were all locked into containers, though. This location was a little too crowded for me. However, it had many exclusive Hawaiian products that I appreciated. read more

Pros: -lots of covered parking -nice, well stocked store -lots of employees on the floor -lots of registers to check out -different selection Cons: -although lots of employees, not many seem happy -the crowd is different because of the location -layout is different than what I'm used to I like visiting Town. Different things to see and different places to visit. I don't shop this location often, but when I do, I feel like its pretty easy to navigate. Sometimes there might be cool new things that I wouldn't have at the Walmart stores near me. I do appreciate the covered parking garage. I can also appreciate the ASB in this location. My 2017 Hyundai Sonata lease expired, so I returned it last week. I was going to buy another car, but my friend said she would give me a car. Spend money ... no spend money ... hmm. So I got the free car ... a 2001 Honda Accord, gold two-door. It's in pretty good shape. The exterior has held up well. But the interior was pretty dirty. I have spent hours detailing the interior, but you know how some plastic gets gummy over time? Well parts of the surfaces were gummy and covered with cat hair. So I decided to buy some Goo Gone. Wednesday I saw an 8 ounce bottle of Goo Gone at Longs so I bought it. Thursday I went to Safeway and saw a 12 oz spray bottle, and it was $8 with a buy one, get 1/2 off second offer. So I paid $12 for two 12 oz spray bottles. Then Friday I went Walmart to look for a seat belt button, which if you didn't know, keeps the buckle from sliding all the way down the belt to the floor so you don't have to grope around on the dirty floor to retrieve the buckle to fasten yourself in. Of course, that's a super specialty item so I didn't expect to find it. I asked a clerk, and he actually knew what I was looking for, but they were out of stock. In the automotive department they have some pretty strange items. I saw a deer horn, which is a 3 inch plastic thing you fasten to your car hood. It whistles in two different pitches when you drive faster than 30 mph, so it apparently alerts deer to not stand in the road in front of your oncoming car. Yeah we really need that here on Oahu. Wonder how many they have sold. Anyway, as I passed the auto cleaning products shelf, I had to look for the Goo Gone price. The fricking 12 oz spray bottle was only $4.74. And this week Longs had a sale on Armor All wipes for $4.99 per container. Of course, by the time I dragged my lazy arse to Manoa Longs they were sold out of both the Cleaning Wipes and the Protectant Wipes. And Kaimuki and King St. Longs didn't have any Protectant Wipes, but Kaimuki had 1 unsold container of Cleaning Wipes so I scooped it up like a greedy hoarder. Walmart has both products, and their regular shelf price is $4.12 !! The moral of the story is to check prices at Walmart before buying stuff at Longs, cause Walmart's regular price may be cheaper than the sale price at Longs. Of course, the tradeoff is that you will have to put up with the low life Walmart customers who frequent the store. Like me. read more

First of all, one has to take into account the store can't control the customers that shop at the store and what they do when they are in there. That being said, there are some questionable characters that shop at Walmart and some crazy kids not necessarily being effectively parented. Otherwise, Walmart is a very inclusive store, meaning they carry and stock a lot of everything one could actually need. I try to avoid the area because of the traffic for the most part, but when I need something they almost always have it or something comparable. One of my favorite parts of the store is the hardware and crafts sections. Home Depot and Lowes can be overwhelming when I just need a screw or some glue/paint, Walmart stocks these things. The crafts section is the best offered other than a specialty store! The staff do a decent job helping out when asked for help and the check out process is pretty efficient considered many of their customers don't even speak english. Overall a great general store with good deals to be had. read more

Shopping in Honolulu, Hawaii... Originally, I visited Walmart to get a sewing machine for my sister. When she told me that she didn't have a sewing machine, I was shocked! How can she teach her daughters to sew (or even hem pants) when she doesn't have a machine? I think sewing is such a useful skill! I've sewn Halloween costumes, my graduation dresses, face masks, and more! So, I went to Walmart in search of an early birthday gift for my sister. I like this Keeaumoku Street Walmart because of its free, covered parking, convenient restroom, and variety of goods. I enjoyed the clearance Easter goods and browsing the various departments. I think Walmart is great for Hawaiian souvenirs, clothing, jewelry, and greeting cards! You can even get a fresh pineapple and a lei to go! In the past, I bought a lot of stuff for my house here. From tables and chairs to curtain rods, swimming pool toys, tiki torches, furniture, garden tools, and baking supplies, I found everything I needed at reasonable prices! I had bought a sewing machine here and I thought that I could get one for my sister. However, they were all sold out! I did see some fabric, craft supplies, and office items! Oh, well... Despite the fact that Walmart has things for so much more cheaper.... Customer service here is horrible! They're slow and they dont help you! Customer service is definitely not their priority at Walmart or at this one I called a few times on the phone and I was hung up twice I went inside to exchange some thing and instead of getting me the correct item that they labeled wrong they made me go and get it which was all the way in the back of the store. I also did a return and wasn't given my original receipt in case I needed to return other things then they blamed me and said that they gave it to me which I can assure they didn't then when I had to push and say that they didn't they found it right in front of them. Did a little Christmas Shopping the other day and what can I say... A LOT OF THINGS IN STOCK Surprisingly! Which was great! #1 downer of this location.. Dirty. Parking lot, dirty. Inside is filthy and definitely calls for sanitation. Otherwise, The products they have for almost everything (seasoning, cereals, makeup, shampoos, bathroom essentials, electronics, frozen foods, utensils, toys, clothes, etc.) MANY OPTIONS, MANY BRANDS! Very affordable compared to Target that has the same things. Highly recommend bringing your own bag. I almost spent a few hours here looking at many products. Either one of them were showing empathy or even a simple sorry for their mistake on my son's Christmas photos. A few entrances. Convenient to Waikiki and Ala Moana. Lots of everyday supplies at reasonable prices. The Walmart itself has a big tourist section, a McDonald's, and a few services including optical and a reasonable grocery section. Most of the produce stored in the coolers with just a few fruits and potatoes in open displays. Customer service sometimes missing - walked around the sporting section for about 10 min without finding anyone. No no, silly, I just want to share the reasons I go to Walmart and maybe we can trade tips. I go to Sam's Club upstairs at least once a week. Now there are things I can't buy in bulk so I make my way downstairs to Walmart. Let me tell you there is quite a difference in the clientele at Sam's and a Walmart. I only learned last year from a friend that Walmart is also known as Wally World. Had no idea, and still don't understand why. Parking on the ground floor for Walmart is always a cluster fu*k. It's a little better if you don't mind a walk and park on the far mauka end of the lot. Pro tip: park on the second level near the stairs and just walk down. So much faster! Baking supplies: flour, cake mix, cupcake cups, brownie mix, pudding mix are all cheaper here than anywhere else. So of course I'm always stocking up here. If you have a garment steamer or water fountain/feature (those zen types), using distilled water greatly increases the life of your steamer and fountain. Distilled water also doesn't leave hard water marks on your fountain and keeps it new looking. The distilled water at Walmart is only $1 each! Look for the purple label and cap. If you read my CVS review, Vick tissues are a life changer when you are sick! Stock up! I keep boxes at home, in my car, in my office. Whenever someone is sick and give them a box and they love me for it. They have a full pharmacy and just about any over the counter drug you need so it's a one stop shop. EOS sweet mint lip balm is my favorite. Soft, moisturizing, minty and has a slight sweetness to it. Makes the most kissable lips. You might be familiar with their ball shaped ones. Those are cumbersome to take around. Walmart carries them in a tube shaped lip balm which fits better in your pocket. It comes in a two pack. These are usually hard to find else where. There is a L&L in this Walmart. My guilty pleasure, on the days I cheat and don't do Intermittent Fasting, I get a Spam with Egg sandwich and add cheese. So good! I'm mildly allergic to eggs so always pay for eating this 20 minutes later. Bring some reusable bags and save the environment. Have fun at Wally World! read more

Walmart has some cheap eats at their grocery section. I bought a hungry-man boneless fried chicken & grapes for $10.20 tax included. I took them home and I only had to use the microwave oven once before eating. This is the lazy persons way of eating the real cheap eats in Hawaii without doing much of a cooking. read more

I don't know why the ratings are soow. Walmart is located under Sam's club and sometimes the produce here is cheaper! Get avocados here for under $4 for 4! The produce is not gross as you may think, it's actually pretty nice and cheap for some items. I always go to the self check out which is quick. Unfortunately, they don't have Apple Pay yet. Like shopping in a dungeon. For some reason the lighting inside this Walmart is always terrible. I understand Walmarts use lower light levels in the morning so people who are sensitive to bright lights can shop but the lighting is lousy even in the afternoons. The light level is lower than it should be and it is super low contrast causing great eyestrain. I don't have this problem in Target, Longs, or local grocery stores. It's like the light isn't putting out the correct light spectrum. I heard the Kapolei Walmart is even worse. read more
