Came to get some melatonin for our flight home, the slow release kind. Found the whip body towel, these are used at the Korean spas after a soaking to slough off your dead skin. Shredded squid. I am sure the other flight mates would love the smell of these, better not. Grabbed some nuts, simple, clean and easy to eat on the plane and filling too. They have Coca-Cola with coffee blended. I have no idea. Is it one or the other doesn't have enough caffeine. I will say that there's a lot of Asian inspired snacks, food, and drinks and other household and accessory items here. I decided to visit Walmart because I wanted to see what the store had to offer in Hawaii. The first thing I noticed was an L&L Hawaiian BBQ area. Most Walmarts would have a McDonald's or sometimes Subway. I thought that was pretty cool. While shopping, I came across the Aloha Maid Fuji Apple canned drinks. They were so delicious! I came back here to buy two 6-packs. They were placed into my suitcase to come home with me. I also purchased Spam. Back in California, the only Spam flavors we have are the Original or the Less Sodium kind. I selected the Hickory Smoke and Jalapeño flavors. It was interesting how they were all locked into containers, though. This location was a little too crowded for me. However, it had many exclusive Hawaiian products that I appreciated. read more

First of all, one has to take into account the store can't control the customers that shop at the store and what they do when they are in there. That being said, there are some questionable characters that shop at Walmart and some crazy kids not necessarily being effectively parented. Otherwise, Walmart is a very inclusive store, meaning they carry and stock a lot of everything one could actually need. I try to avoid the area because of the traffic for the most part, but when I need something they almost always have it or something comparable. One of my favorite parts of the store is the hardware and crafts sections. Home Depot and Lowes can be overwhelming when I just need a screw or some glue/paint, Walmart stocks these things. The crafts section is the best offered other than a specialty store! The staff do a decent job helping out when asked for help and the check out process is pretty efficient considered many of their customers don't even speak english. Overall a great general store with good deals to be had. read more

Different things to see and different places to visit. I don't shop this location often, but when I do, I feel like its pretty easy to navigate. My 2017 Hyundai Sonata lease expired, so I returned it last week. I was going to buy another car, but my friend said she would give me a car. Spend money ... no spend money ... hmm. So I got the free car ... a 2001 Honda Accord, gold two-door. It's in pretty good shape. The exterior has held up well. But the interior was pretty dirty. I have spent hours detailing the interior, but you know how some plastic gets gummy over time? Well parts of the surfaces were gummy and covered with cat hair. So I decided to buy some Goo Gone. Wednesday I saw an 8 ounce bottle of Goo Gone at Longs so I bought it. Thursday I went to Safeway and saw a 12 oz spray bottle, and it was $8 with a buy one, get 1/2 off second offer. So I paid $12 for two 12 oz spray bottles. Then Friday I went Walmart to look for a seat belt button, which if you didn't know, keeps the buckle from sliding all the way down the belt to the floor so you don't have to grope around on the dirty floor to retrieve the buckle to fasten yourself in. Of course, that's a super specialty item so I didn't expect to find it. I asked a clerk, and he actually knew what I was looking for, but they were out of stock. In the automotive department they have some pretty strange items. I saw a deer horn, which is a 3 inch plastic thing you fasten to your car hood. It whistles in two different pitches when you drive faster than 30 mph, so it apparently alerts deer to not stand in the road in front of your oncoming car. Yeah we really need that here on Oahu. Wonder how many they have sold. Anyway, as I passed the auto cleaning products shelf, I had to look for the Goo Gone price. The fricking 12 oz spray bottle was only $4.74. And this week Longs had a sale on Armor All wipes for $4.99 per container. Of course, by the time I dragged my lazy arse to Manoa Longs they were sold out of both the Cleaning Wipes and the Protectant Wipes. And Kaimuki and King St. Longs didn't have any Protectant Wipes, but Kaimuki had 1 unsold container of Cleaning Wipes so I scooped it up like a greedy hoarder. Walmart has both products, and their regular shelf price is $4.12 !! The moral of the story is to check prices at Walmart before buying stuff at Longs, cause Walmart's regular price may be cheaper than the sale price at Longs. Of course, the tradeoff is that you will have to put up with the low life Walmart customers who frequent the store. Like me. read more

Customer service is a 0 here. Crystal in electronics is an awful person with a major attitude. Brad the team lead in customer service who is barely a manager was a joke. Either one of them were showing empathy or even a simple sorry for their mistake on my son's Christmas photos. You would think with the holidays right around the corner they would actually care or pretend to care at least. Being a struggling single mom who works 50 hours a week to make ends meet. Shopping in Honolulu, Hawaii... Originally, I visited Walmart to get a sewing machine for my sister. When she told me that she didn't have a sewing machine, I was shocked! How can she teach her daughters to sew (or even hem pants) when she doesn't have a machine? I think sewing is such a useful skill! I've sewn Halloween costumes, my graduation dresses, face masks, and more! So, I went to Walmart in search of an early birthday gift for my sister. I like this Keeaumoku Street Walmart because of its free, covered parking, convenient restroom, and variety of goods. I enjoyed the clearance Easter goods and browsing the various departments. I think Walmart is great for Hawaiian souvenirs, clothing, jewelry, and greeting cards! You can even get a fresh pineapple and a lei to go! In the past, I bought a lot of stuff for my house here. From tables and chairs to curtain rods, swimming pool toys, tiki torches, furniture, garden tools, and baking supplies, I found everything I needed at reasonable prices! Like shopping in a dungeon. For some reason the lighting inside this Walmart is always terrible. I understand Walmarts use lower light levels in the morning so people who are sensitive to bright lights can shop but the lighting is lousy even in the afternoons. The light level is lower than it should be and it is super low contrast causing great eyestrain. I don't have this problem in Target, Longs, or local grocery stores. Did a little Christmas Shopping the other day and what can I say... A LOT OF THINGS IN STOCK Surprisingly! Which was great! #1 downer of this location.. Dirty. Parking lot, dirty. Inside is filthy and definitely calls for sanitation. Otherwise, The products they have for almost everything (seasoning, cereals, makeup, shampoos, bathroom essentials, electronics, frozen foods, utensils, toys, clothes, etc.) MANY OPTIONS, MANY BRANDS! Very affordable compared to Target that has the same things. Highly recommend bringing your own bag. I almost spent a few hours here looking at many products. Walmart has some cheap eats at their grocery section. I bought a hungry-man boneless fried chicken & grapes for $10.20 tax included. A nice big multi-level garage where you can park shared with the Sam's Club above - although backs up a lot when you have one person waiting on a car to back out. Easier to park in the wings. A few entrances. Convenient to Waikiki and Ala Moana. Lots of everyday supplies at reasonable prices. The Walmart itself has a big tourist section, a McDonald's, and a few services including optical and a reasonable grocery section. Most of the produce stored in the coolers with just a few fruits and potatoes in open displays. Customer service sometimes missing - walked around the sporting section for about 10 min without finding anyone. Ended up going to the toy section to find someone to page someone to come over. read more

I know, you're thinking, "Is he really reviewing Walmart? Jeffrey's obsession to write reviews is entering a new level." No no, silly, I just want to share the reasons I go to Walmart and maybe we can trade tips. I go to Sam's Club upstairs at least once a week. Now there are things I can't buy in bulk so I make my way downstairs to Walmart. Let me tell you there is quite a difference in the clientele at Sam's and a Walmart. I only learned last year from a friend that Walmart is also known as Wally World. Had no idea, and still don't understand why. Parking on the ground floor for Walmart is always a cluster fu*k. It's a little better if you don't mind a walk and park on the far mauka end of the lot. Pro tip: park on the second level near the stairs and just walk down. So much faster! Baking supplies: flour, cake mix, cupcake cups, brownie mix, pudding mix are all cheaper here than anywhere else. So of course I'm always stocking up here. If you have a garment steamer or water fountain/feature (those zen types), using distilled water greatly increases the life of your steamer and fountain. Distilled water also doesn't leave hard water marks on your fountain and keeps it new looking. The distilled water at Walmart is only $1 each! Look for the purple label and cap. If you read my CVS review, Vick tissues are a life changer when you are sick! Stock up! I keep boxes at home, in my car, in my office. Whenever someone is sick and give them a box and they love me for it. They have a full pharmacy and just about any over the counter drug you need so it's a one stop shop. EOS sweet mint lip balm is my favorite. Soft, moisturizing, minty and has a slight sweetness to it. Makes the most kissable lips. You might be familiar with their ball shaped ones. Those are cumbersome to take around. Walmart carries them in a tube shaped lip balm which fits better in your pocket. It comes in a two pack. These are usually hard to find else where. There is a L&L in this Walmart. My guilty pleasure, on the days I cheat and don't do Intermittent Fasting, I get a Spam with Egg sandwich and add cheese. So good! I'm mildly allergic to eggs so always pay for eating this 20 minutes later. Bring some reusable bags and save the environment. Have fun at Wally World! read more

Well which Walmart shall I review since I go to a variety of them my favorite has always been the Kunia store I find everything under the sun there. I also shop at the busy Keamoku store because I live in town now. I've recently shopped at the Fort Street Mall store in the old Macys building off King Street it has two floors and lots of great things to shop for everything I need under one roof. The Kapolei Walmart is also a great store to shop at I bought all my kitchen things for my new house I moved into two years ago. The Pearl Highlands if Pearl City Walmart is another great store I'll go out of my way for just like the Mililani Walmart I find a lot of great clothes for me and my granddaughters. read more

Almost all employees are very helpful and nice EXCEPT with the Filipino cashier who refuses to bag the groceries you purchased. He said it's not his job and I pointed to him that the 2 other cashiers were bagging the groceries of their customers. Never in my lifetime that the customers bagged their groceries. Unless when it's only 1-3 purchases. We purchased close to $200. Such a lazy employee. He should shift to a desk job if he doesn't want to do manual work. But I guess he won't qualify due to his lazy attitude. Will not recommend this place or be cautious if your cashier is a middle aged Filipino guy with gray hair. I've been going here for years adding to my PayPal account at the registers. Today the cashier has no clue what I'm talking about and I showed him what the PayPal app says to do, which has never before been a problem. Sends me to the returns desk. I get there and Diover or something like that is asking me questions I've never been asked before because all I have to do is have them scan a barcode from the app and it tells them what to do. In the rudest response, she says I need ID to add money to my account. Why? I'm not cashing a check or paying by check. I'm paying you for a service that has been, up until now, an easy process of me showing the bar code and handing them money and it's done. You folks don't even want to show ID to be able to vote for the leader of the free world, but you want my ID so I can hand you money? Needless to say, Dionver or bend over or whatever her name is, is adamant about showing ID. Why does she act like she's a cop or a bank teller? She has no right to asks for an ID. I understand technology moves forward but I'm not giving my ID to someone that does not need it nor get respect from me for being condescending and rude. It's become a joke at this store because of a certain type of employee is all up in peoples business when this is what Walmart wanted. I didn't ask to be showing my credentials to someone who is on a need to know basis and this is not one of those times. Train better or get new help. Ever since Walmart ran out all of the Mom and Pop stores and was able to stay open for COVID when all of the local stores were not able to, hence the shutting down of local businesses which is a travesty in itself. Donald Trump and Governor Ige send out mixed messages as to when and under what conditions this state will be allowed to at least partially open for business and recreation. In this time of uncertainty, we have to be akamai about how we spend our money. All I can say is "TGFW!" Thank God for Walmart! Walmart is still open 24/7 during this Age of COVID-19. That means you have time to decide whether you want to shop on-line or sneak and drive around looking for that perfect Mother's Day gift. You can play the waiting game and hope government and CDC reopening policies will change before May 10th, or shop at a one stop department store like Walmart, Don Quijote and Target. Potatoes, TV dinners, milk, rice, vitamins, lamps, fans, fishing poles, camping equipment, squirt bottles, kids wading pools, DVD's and CD's, televisions, toasters, hand sanitizers, sewing machines, handbags, underwear, fabric, coloring books, kukui nut leis, chewing gum, 14 kt gold plated bracelets, magazines, nail polish, Mother's Day balloons ....they got it. All the sheltering in place and Mother's Day things you need to get through Phase 1 of this COVID-19 pandemic. Business is 40% of what it used to be so social distancing is easy; but be warned. There is always the irritating 5% that shop here without wearing a mask that you must avoid. Self-check out lines move fast because people don't buy in bulk like before. Generally, 10 items or less, scan, push "0" bag button, insert cash or card and walk out the door. You still have time. Check out the other two department store options; Don Quijote and Target, before making a final decision on a Mother's Day present. Just remember, the other two places don't have 50 cent soda machines outside the exit door. P.S. Let's be honest. We all love our mother's but we men are glad La Mer, Chef Marvo, Macy's, Tiffany, Hermes, Louis Vuitton are all temporarily closed. Money is tight and today a mother would be very happy and grateful to receive a 24 roll pack of 2-ply, Angel Soft toilet paper, a squirt bottle containing a homemade disinfectant of bleach and water that meets CDC guidelines and a Revlon eyebrow pencil on Mother's Day.
