The worst pharmacy I ever used. They got my prescription 10 days ago but they didn't notify me about the prescription ready until 3 days ago. When I stopped by the pharmacy, the staff told me that the prescription was put back from the shelf because it hasn't been picked up in 3 days. This Walgreens is conveniently located at the Santa Clara Town Center. This store was built in 2013, replacing an older building, so it's surprising that the inside feels claustrophobic and dated. Rather than having an open floorplan, the store puts things like the pharmacy behind corners. The store carries a large variety of stuff, but it can be hard to quickly determine the location of things; the signs overhead are not too helpful. Items on shelves are packed very tightly together. They definitely know how to use every bit of usable space. The person who stocked the shelves must be a pro at packing a suitcase! I went to the pharmacy to pick up probiotics. The pharmacist was friendly and helpful, unlike what many other reviewers seem to have experienced. This location carries some vitamins, but not organic ones. Fortunately, Sprouts (also in the Town Center) carries a much bigger selection of vitamins, some of which are organic. read more

What a waste of time. Use their auto refill option is absolutely worthless. They have two pick up kiosks here that have been out of service for a year or more. One girl working the counter and always a 30 min wait to pick up Rx. The manager here should be fired. Update: This just gets better. It seems their administrative incompetence goes all the way up the corporate chain. On my way home, I get one of those "we care about your expierence" BS pester me notifications on my iPhone from their Walgreens application. It asks me to click on the link to leave them important feedback about my experience at their store here in Santa Clara. I click on the link and the application opens and reports that the survey is no longer active. I poop you not. They should stop wasting their money on tv and radio commercials with that hipster doofus that hasn't acted in anything since that goofy Alaska tv show and try hiring some corporate administration that doesn't have their heads up their rectums. I walked into this Walgreens at 8:58 pm on October 26th and proceeded to the Pharmacy to find out that the cage and bars were already down. The sign says the closing time is 9:00 pm. I went to the front cashier and explained to the women there that it was one minute before 9:00 pm and the pharmacy should not be closed. The clock on the wall directly behind her also showed 8:59 pm. We then walked me back to the pharmacy and the women pharmacist argued with me that they did not close the cage until 9:00 pm. That was absolutely 100% not true. Both my phone and the clock on their wall showed I was in the store prior to 9:00 pm. The two people in the pharmacy obviously wanted to close up and get out of the store as soon as possible, even before their actual closing time. Terrible customer service by the pharmacy department, especially the women who I assume was the pharmacist. The women who escorted me back from the front was very nice and tried to help but I left without getting what I came in for. I will never visit that pharmacy again. read more

The staff explained that they never had a shortage on flu vaccine. They were only short on Covid vaccine. How much confidence you should give a pharmacy whose staff cannot distinguish between flu and covid vaccine? What else can go wrong? read more

Time and time again I am so fed up w the pharmacy at this specific location. Not only do they mess up A LOT, but they will have your whole medical team in panic because their "system" messes up. I had my doctor call me in a panic, asking why I had requested the same medication twice. To my surprise I did not even call Walgreens or request this medication. When I called the pharmacy back, as they had already left two voicemails. The person whom I spoke with was condescending and rude. Acting as if I had made a huge burden for them to check what happened in their "system" I literally had to call my doctor and insurance company and explain to them that I DID NOT request this medication and that Walgreens made a mistake (what a pain in the ass) So once again, thanks Walgreens for fckn up my prescriptions once again. read more

Most unorganized pharmacy ever. They never refill the prescription ahead of time like most other pharmacies & when you do show up, the 100% of the time they never have the full prescription. They once sent my partial prescription in a ziplock bag, where the Medicin was expiring the same month. Mind you this is a very expensive medication. Save yourself the pain and go somewhere else until this place learns the simple rules of being organized & hopefully get training on management & customer relations. read more

This Walgreens had everything I needed to quickly get in and out. Staff were quick to help me find some items that I didn't initially find. One noteworthy thing I noticed was how clean this Walgreens was, it was fully stocked and spotless. The pharmacy is ok, sometimes there are long line cuz there's some old timers that get 20 medications. The employees are cool though. They have too many handicap and 'green energy' parking spots. You don't get extra points for adding more than regulation. Luckily, I park in the 'Green' spots because green means Go. Maybe even 2 at a time!! Worst experience I have ever had at a Walgreens. I shopped very frequently at the one in Palo Alto where I use to work. After venturing here on a day off to get a prescription transferred from the other Walgreens to this one I will never go to this Pharmacy again. I had the absolute worst customer service from a young African American man there, describing him since I as unable to get his name for this horrible review. I went in to ask for my prescription, he asked me several things more than once, then told me he couldn't fill my prescription and in essence dismissed me and didn't even bother to help me. I left the store and at once called my old pharmacy to see what was the matter, being on hold for more than several minutes didn't help to ease the frustration I already had with service for this chain . But when I got on the phone the Pharmacy at the Downtown Palo Alto location seemed to know what they were doing and said they would call this pharmacy to clear up whatever was going on with my prescription. When I went back I encountered this same person and told him the other pharmacy would be calling him to clear this up. Essentially all it took was a phone call to the other pharmacy to have a repeat prescription order removed from there system so this horrible location could fill my order there. The lack of knowledge and problem solving skills from this individual was beyond outrageous. I had to wait another 25 minutes after this whole situation just to get my prescription filled. I am pretty disappointed with this location, the knowledge of the staff to problem solve something simple rather than dismiss customers trying to get medications filled. Also the lack of service up to the standards I am use to. Do not go to this location at any cost, Palo Alto is a great location and I will be writing a great review for them. I wish I still worked in that area, I wouldn't have had to waste my time today for over an hour trying to get my prescription. You can do better! read more

This place is really decent, and they had the teeth flossers I needed, and were fully stocked. It's oddly configured, but I don't think it detracts immensely from the experience. The pharmacist was really helpful, and got me enough medicine to cover the rest of my trip up here. It was entertaining, because he seemed genuinely confused as to why someone from SoCal was visiting here, but he was cool, and it was all good :) It's conveniently located, and they took care of things in a timely manner. The cashier I went to was cool, and he made a Zuckerberg joke, because why not? YOLO! I'll definitely come to this location again, because when you need flossers, bottles of water, your medicine, and Cheez-Its, Walgreens is the place to go! read more

Advice to the pharmacy department: reacting with a combative response does not qualify as good customer service. You need to get better if you want to stay in business. I had to a stop by this pharmacy three times in order to try pick up just one prescription, and never got it. The reasons were poor communication, over promising while under delivering, and a super long line. read more

I shop here since walgreens was in the old location. I used to see polite employees that we know them every day. now things are changing new faces and more unprofessional working in this store. This review is about an employee named 'Daniel' , If I can rate 0 star review for what happened tonight at 11PM to me and my mother an elder women 65 years old. he was yelling at us and scaring my mother in forcing us to buy an insole because my mother try it on before buying. We told him that we are going to buy it but he insisted to handle the box to him with an angry red face and a scary voice, this is ridiculous because we shop from this store almost every other day. I asked for the manager but I've told that this rude employee Daniel is the manager . We in Santa Clara we don't like to see these rude gangs serving us in our community. Please hire professional and polite employees. 50% of santa clarans are elder people. I will never shop from this store at night, instead I'll go to CVS few blocks away. I would give the following stars Pharmacy: 0 stars Beauty: 4 stars General: 3 stars PHARMACY This pharmacy is chronically understaffed! You can typically wait in line for over 15 minutes for a prescription. Not only that, but the staff aren't very thorough. My boyfriend and I have told them for months that they keep filling his prescriptions for only ten days instead of the entire month. They get it wrong every single time, and we've corrected them every single time. It's ridiculous. Heaven forbid there's something actually wrong with your insurance or other prescription. You will have to wait over an hour for there to be someone to help you. Meanwhile, when I walked out of the store, there was a pharmacy tech "hangin' out" at the cash register with five other employees. They were fist bumpin' and chattin' it up like bros. This is ridiculous. As soon as Target opens, I'm transferring all my prescriptions. BEAUTY This lady that works in beauty is great! She is the only reason this whole store gets a second star. She will help you find anything and will make sure you get all your coupons and discounts. She's awesome. GENERAL The store is clean and organized. They have nice sales and good inventory and the lines aren't too long. It's too bad that the Pharmacy is so poorly staffed. EDIT 10 - 15 This Pharmacy is INCOMPETENT!! I went in to get my birth control refill and they kept telling me it was rejected by my health insurance. After calling my insurance and spending 20 minutes on the phone, I find out that they submitted the refill with the same prescription number as before, making it a DUPLICATE. How bad do you have to be to make this mistake. EVERY SINGLE TIME I go into this pharmacy there is a problem. This is hands down THE WORST PHARMACY EVER! This location is in the same shopping center as the old Walgreens. That entire plaza is undergoing construction, so many of the shops/restaurants will most likely be moved. I was excited when this Walgreens was under construction because I was expecting a more modern store. But this is HALF of the size of the previous store, which means that each department's products have been reduced. So if you go there hoping to comparison shop for the best deals on medicines or toiletries, you won't have much to choose from. There is also a refrigerator section for perishables like fruit platters, yogurt, and sandwiches, which is good for on-the-go, but I think it takes up valuable shelf space. PHARMACY I haven't used the pharmacy yet, but that area of the store seems dim to me. I was expecting it to be a lot brighter since it's a newer store. CARD SECTION I also miss the card selection they had at the bigger store... There was a huge selection of cards and gift wrap. The birthday selection is average, but if you're looking for special occasion cards, like Graduation, I suggest going to the Hallmark store in the plaza while it's still open. REGISTERS The registers are at one big counter next to the photo department, so there's one queue for all registers. Each time I've been there (about 3 times so far), there's only been one cashier, and they don't move very efficiently. PARKING The parking lot here is THE WORST! I don't know why they didn't make each aisle one-way, like the parking lot at Chase or Boston Market next door. It is very close to have 2 midsize vehicles pass each other, so forget about it if you have an SUV or minivan. So far, I'm not impressed by this location. I live far from this Walgreens but I prefer to come here for my prescription. Everyone in that department is nice, courteous and efficient. In particular, Annie, the pharmacist. I only talked to her on the phone regarding my prescription and she was beyond helpful, especially when she found out I have no insurance. She called my doctor and found ways to get me a cheaper way to pay. God bless her! Went to pick up my meds and everything went better as the staff was able to find an alternative so I ended up paying way way less. read more

This review is for the Western Union service at this specific Walgreens. I called in advance and ensured the service was available. I arrived about 10 minutes later and was guided to use the computer. After 10 minutes of attempting every possible way to log in - including resetting my Western Union password and successfully logging in on my phone with that new password - I was still unable to complete the transaction. When I asked for help, none of the employees could help. They were nice enough, but actually said "Western Union didn't train us so we don't have any answers." Just saying....if your store offers a service, know how to help your guests to use them. read more

Don't even bother calling. I tried to call them to ask if I can transfer my prescription to a Walgreens closer to my home but was on hold for over 40 minutes. First to Review ! ! Yaa.... So this is the new store in the same parking lot at the nearst one closed. First off I could't wait to see the new store. This store is small ! Its new and organized ya.. but something seems so contained and small. I am so used to the large area i guess. I just went walking around investigating..lol I do see they have a area of fruit already cut in container. The Pharmacy is way in the back area. And the front check out counter are not to the norm. But the check was easy and polite. Parking lot was new... and pretty empty, but that is at 8:30 am on a Saturday Morning. I am really looking forward to the NEW Target that is coming to this mall area. ! read more

Not a big store, but has sale items in stock. I was in line with one shopper in front of me when they opened another checkout lane. The employees greet shoppers on the sales floor, and they thank shoppers for shopping there as shoppers are leaving. The cosmetics section is very well organized. They carry Milani Cosmetics. The parking lot is tiny, and most of the spaces are for compact cars. Right next to a Boston Market. read more

This Walgreens is relatively modern, with plenty of convenience store items. The pharmacy area is quite spacious so that people waiting in line aren't too crowded, and there's a comfortable waiting room area. The pharmacy also has self-service electronic kiosks that supposedly cut down on your wait times. The parking lot isn't large but never seems overcrowded. Generally pleasant to visit here. read more

Since they moved to the new location, nothing is done right in the pharmacy. The line is always long and there are never enough techs. You could use the express checkout, but the POS rarely prints out a receipt, so no one comes to the window to give you your prescription. When you do get a receipt, you have to stand back in the huge line with everyone else because the express window is actually ignored entirely. I was in line behind a gentleman once who was being told that there were issues with his coverage. He was generally treated like a moron - very unprofessional. The guy at the register begrudgingly agreed to fill his prescription anyway ... And told the man to return in an hour. Before he even got to me and well after the gentleman had already left, he realized that he made a mistake and tried to call the man back. In short, these people don't even know how to read their own system/database. So it didn't surprise me today when I got to the Palo Alto location and was told that my prescription was not ready, and in fact was never even called in. You see, the El Camino location ran out of stock of my Rx, so I tried calling them but the line was busy for over an hour. I then tried using my app to request that my birth control be transferred to another location. Unfortunately, the request looked like a duplicate when I'm only allowed one refill a month. I waited a while and called El Camino again. Five times. The fifth time I was finally able to talk to a person who said that according to their system, Palo Alto has my prescription and that it was ready. I asked that she recheck the system and just put in a transfer because I received a notice from Palo Alto that it couldn't be filled. "Sure," she said. Yeah. :/ read more

They accommodated us really from the time we came in till my dad got his prescription medicine and it was late already. One more thing that made us more appreciative of their service is William. My elderly dad needs to use the restroom so I asked the filipina employee if she can open it for us. Unfortunately, she said they're short of staff and she couldn't do it ( even though she can ). We asked another employee - William, and he made a huge effort to walk my dad to the restroom and opened it for him. William is a perfect model of great costumer service. I moved to Santa Clara from San Francisco and had to transfer my many medications from the Walgreens on 1st and Mission to the one at 2140 EL Camino Real in Santa Clara. This Walgreens has an extremely busy pharmacy and the lines are always outrageously long...It's not the staffs fault as they seem to try their best to accommodate the long line of customers to the best of their ability. This pharmacy does a tremendous amount of business and therefore should have at least 3 people helping customers at peak hours. The Walgreens at 1st and Mission in the city of SF usually had 2 people helping customers at all times and they are not nearly as busy as this location. Help... After trying to get a prescription filled and Target and they couldn't do it I went straight to Walgreen and the filled my prescription within 20 minutes. Target may be closer to me but it does me no good when they can't fill a prescription. Walgreens thank you for your great services you provide and also for having a nice area to sit down and wait while the prescription is being filled.
