WALGREENS is located on one of the four corners of the intersection of Washington Ave. and Lewelling Blvd. Since I work from home (drafting patent applications), and save three hours/day because I do not need to commute, I typically devote several hours per week to these two activities: (1) Landscape photography and; (2) Burning music compilations on blank CD's and then making enamel paintings on the CD's. What this means, is that I need to make periodic trips to Walgreens, for example, at the Washington Ave. location in San Leandro, in order to have my photographs printed as 8 inch by 10 inch color prints. During the past year, I have had about 120 photographs (each, eight by ten inches) printed at Walgreens, and the result was absolute perfection for every photograph (great color saturation, perfect color balance, accuracy in color reproduction). What this also means is that, as part of my trip to Walgreens, I need to stop at nearby HOBBIES UNLIMITED on Manor Blvd. to buy more enamel paints. Attached are images of my most recent photographs, and these include: (1) Photograph of elk by a pond near Tomales Point Trail at Point Reyes. (2) Photograph of other elk lounging in the meadow just south of this pond. (3) Photo of my painted disc, where the disc contains space age lounge music, for example by Martin Denny, by Esquivel, and by David Rose (Holiday for Strings). (4) Photo of my painted disc, where the disc contains drum & bass music, for example, by Squarepusher and by Aphex Twin. This location of WALGREENS is huge. There is a front aisle, where the photograph-processing section is found, and a rear aisle, where the pharmacist's counter is. Most of the rear aisle is used for displaying toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, dental floss, manicure devices, nail clippers, artificial eye lashes, pads for putting into shoes, and bandages. In addition, there are twelve aisles that are each oriented from the front to the rear of the store. After spending 15 minutes taking notes, I asked one of the clerks, "IS THERE ANYTHING THAT YOUR STORE DOES NOT SELL, BESIDES NOT SELLING JET PLANES AND ROSE BUSHES ? ! ?" That is how amazed I was a the huge selection of things for sale. These twelve aisles have these things for sale: (1) Refrigerated beverages, snack foods, medicines for stomach problems, medical devices, such as stethoscopes and blood pressure measuring devices. (2) Vitamins, eye drops, soda pop, wine. (3) Canned foods, cookies, coffee, cereal, medicines for colds, bed pans. (4) School supplies, walking canes, tampons, walkers for old people, toilet paper. (5) Detergents, candles, baby food, diapers, bubble bath. (6) Bug spray, cat food, electric extension cords, chocolates, chewing gum. (7) Hand lotion, holiday candies, holiday decorations, toys (Hot Wheels, bathtub toys such as a floating duck, Star Wars characters), and Play-Doh. (8) Women's pads, Huggies, Fantastic Four toys, Hot Wheels toys, condoms, pregnancy tests, crayons, picture frames, magazines. (9) Gift wrapping paper, holiday cards, birthday cards. (10) Socks, deodorant, shaving cream, electric hair curlers, electric hair driers, hair bands. (11) Hair bleach, hair dye, shampoo, Rogaine (to make hair grow on bald spots), acne medicines. (12) Make-up, lipstick, wrinkle remover, eczema relief medicine, psoriasis relief medicine. During today's visit, I spoke with two employees at the photography counter. Each understood exactly what I wanted, and both employees patiently answered my questions, despite the fact that there was a line of three customers (each wearing a paper mask) in back of me. Been going here for 15 - 20 years or so. Great late night option for what you may need and easy to get out again fast. Odd food options, the expected pharmacy and wine. Went a couple nights ago. Two ladies at each register very pleasant to talk with joking around. Walmart is down the street but that is a real battle and isn't open 24 hours. Food Maxx is also nearby and open 24 hours. Parking here is easy... lots of spots. Well lite up too at night - don't be afraid of your shadow here the neighborhood isn't that scary. read more

It's a pharmacy. You come in, pick up your prescriptions, and walk out. Quick and simple. How bad could it possibly be? WRONG! I had to go to this pharmacy 4 times within 3 days to get all my medications. Day 1 8pm: My mother was short of breath and had been to the ER. We chose this pharmacy to pick up her prescriptions because it was close to home and open 24 hours. We were asked to return later because the medications were still being processed. Day1 10pm: I returned. Their computer system was down. I was told to come back in 30 mins. Strangely, their computer system seems to have issues very often because it had happened 2 weeks before. Luckily, I didn't need to wait too long this time. However, I was able to pick up only 3 out of the 4 prescriptions because the remaining one was out of stock. Day 2: Walgreens informed us via phone in the morning that our medication was ready for pickup. I returned again at 6pm, but was told that the last prescription was still out of stock. I inquired about the earlier phone notification. Their explanation was that the notification was a delayed message for the 3 prescriptions that I had already picked up. O_o Day 3: I prayed and returned again. When I lined up at the pharmacy, there were already 5 customers in front of me complaining about being neglected. Meanwhile, 6 people (pharmacists and staff) were working in the back, none came to the windows to assist us until one lady loudly (but respectfully) demanded attention. We didn't get a response right away, but eventually one lady came to the window. When I picked up my mother's medication, I heaved a sigh of relief. I'd never imagined that picking up prescriptions would be such an arduous odyssey. To some extent, I should be grateful to Walgreens because it taught me an important life lesson: Don't take things for granted, and cherish the little moments that bring joy to life. read more

Super slow pharmacy with only 1 pharmacy tech at the register for over 10 people in line inside. When called, they put you on hold for 30 minutes then call gets dropped. When there's a problem with prescription, the pharmacist doesn't call the prescribing physician even though it's in pharmacist's scope of practice to get orders from or verify prescriptions with the physician over the phone. No improvement after concerns were discussed multiple times with the staff and manager in the past. They need to do better especially for the senior citizens and people with disabilities who stand on line for a long time. read more

I was just there to get a Covid Booster told that you could just walk in, the line was long, a gentleman held my place while I sat to wait. Only to get up there to tell me I needed an appointment. Ok my fault. I should have checked. But in all my time waiting I was thinking about how trashy the parking lot was, trash everywhere garbage cans out front just overflowing with garbage. WORST WALGREENS PHARMACY EVER!!! First time picking up medicine here since moving to San Leandro. My daughter's doctor sent a prescription electronically at 4:30 in the afternoon. My daughter was sick and really needed the medication. Every hour for 6 hours I called to check status of when I can pick up, the automated system kept saying in "progress". Next day at 8:00 am, I checked again and automated system says "in progress". By now I am even more f***ing pissed off than I was the day before. I had to call and speak to somebody ASAP. Lucky me I spoke with an inhuman, apathetic b***h. She could care less because she just started her shift when I asked what's taking so long. No apologies or interest in helping me at all. I came inside Walgreens and bought a couple of bottles of Starbuck cold coffee. I asked the cashier if she could give me 5 $1.00 bills for a $5.00 bill. She tells me "Sorry I don't have any singles" Now she is telling me this while holding a stack of singles and removing the rubber band. I wasn't asking for 20 singles i was only asking for 5 I been to several Walgreens before including this one and I have broke $5 bills $10 bills $20 bills with no problem. This woman was either having a bad day all together or she just took it out on me because she was watching my friend & I on the toy aisle. I was looking for the sports cards which they didn't have so I was looking for other toys for my 5 year old daughter. She needs to be retrained. I came into the pharmacy and waited for the pharmacist to come back. I told him that I had a rx faxed by my Dr's office and he proceeded to look for me. He told me he did not see a prescription for me, even though I showed it to him. He wouldn't even look at it and refused to even address me because I wasn't in the system. I don't even know why I gave Walgreens Photo a chance to print a photo book. I should've known better. When we picked up our book, it came in a dirty plain black cover. But we paid for a custom photo cover ($40). AND all of the photo pages were double printed in the book. Smh. Waste of my time coming here to pick it up. Wow, it's been so long since I have been to this Walgreens! This was our go-to a long time ago when we used to live in San Leandro but man, is it run down and dirty! What happened? Parking lot is dirty with trash. Inside floors are old and the smell in here is like weed when you walk in?! Staff are ok but then was 1am when we came here after the hospital so I guess no greeters. The best thing about this place is that it's 24/7 open even the pharmacy. We just came after the hospital and needed to pick up prescriptions for my husband and this was the closest 24 hour Walgreens before heading home. Friday, 8/23/19.. I ran to Walgreens because I was having an allergic reaction to something I ate earlier that afternoon. I was driving home from work and started to itch all over. When I got home, my left ear was swollen and I was red and bumpy all over. I get to Walgreens and I ran to the pharmacy. The first girl I encountered was like, "Oh my, step over here, I'm going to send the pharmacist your way, hold on.." So, I said, "I need to buy something to make this go away!" 2 seconds later the pharmacist looks at me and says, "Go to aisle 20, get Benadryl and bring it back here, I'll get you some water!" So, I run back to the counter so they can ring me up, and she comes by with a little cup of water.. reads the carton for me, and says, "You can take one to start.." And I was like, "Oh heck no! Give me 2!" LOL They rang me up, told me to go straight home because I was going to get drowsy (which happened) and to take another if needed in 4-6 hours. They were so nice and helpful- and knew exactly what was happening! They were kind and thoughtful.. and so sweet for getting me water! This is by far the worst pharmacy I've been to. Every time we put in an order, it's never ready until 4-5 hrs later. Twice they forgot to fill prescription for my kid and wife. Thought it would be quicker in the drive through but even longer. How is it an average of 1hr wait with only 2 cars in front of you? Doesn't matter what time day or night. Always be ready to wait an hour or more. Always says they're understaffed or too many patients. Really??? For 5 damn years I've been here and nothing's changed. Pharmacy used to be so much better but after Covid-19 it sucks. They must be understaffed because calling pharmacy during the day it's hard to get through. Sometimes refilling a medication takes much longer that before. You can spend 45 minutes waiting in line at the drive thru. When medication is out of stock they don't it takes longer than their estimated time or they don't refill it at all. Instead of them locating another Walgreens that have the medication I always need to call around. I am disappointed with how Walgreens has the most inhuman female employees I have encountered in a drugstore. I needed to do a beauty exchange I had my receipt from purchasing it yesterday at the Hesperian location which also has bad service . She took advantage of the line being long and it also being the end of the workday for a lot of people so I didn't think much to question her until I looked at the receipt . She incorrectly returned the items at a lower price and took the recipet from me so I can't dispute it ; she then charged me for 20 bags ! And gave me a store credit of 17 cents?? I love that this place is open 24hrs. Had to get some drugs to relieve my Hay fever and Walgreens came thru for me.

I have been currently 1hr and 25min on hold with this location. I have never been on hold this long. I really need a time sensitive medication and there's no hope my call is going to answered at this point. Phone rings and then the on hold music plays, repeatedly. I have called 6 other locations to try to find my medication in stock. None of them have it but at least I didn't have to wait this long. I'm definitely avoiding Walgreens in general from now on. Numerous times I've tried to fill prescriptions for 180 tablets and they can offer me 10 or 20 which means I have to keep going back for more and there's always a mix-up.
