Lip flip review I took one star off for price. I took one star off for business conduct. I took another star off because after disclosing that I was a mom, I was asked if my sons dad was supportive or basically if he was in our lives. I can't help but feel it's because I'm a young, Latina mom. He is very much in our lives and an amazing father. Before going into procedure It was my first time getting Botox, so, I did do some research on what I wanted. I asked Sonia questions about my expression lines on my forehead and a lip flip. Ultimately, we decided on just the lip flip. What I gathered from all of the research, was that about 4-8 units (sometimes 10) of Botox is typically used in a lip flip. I was expecting to pay between 50 to 150 for this procedure based off their websites prices. During procedure Just before the pokes, Sonia quoted me over 200 dollars. She's the professional, so, I took her word and went ahead. After it was done, out of curiosity, I asked how many units she had used and she said 20 units. I said "20 units!" and she went on to explain how it was normal. It seemed like a lot but again it was my first time and I hadn't called around to other places beforehand and actually spoken to a person. All my research was done solely off company websites. I remember about six to eight pokes. I didn't bruise and I can already see some improvement. However, the results are expected to fully show in about a week. My review is solely based off conduct and not practice. Today, I spoke with three other businesses and they all said they wouldn't use 20 units for a lip flip. To be honest, I do feel deceived. I feel that either too much was used or less was used and I was charged more. I will be calling to ask for my record to sort that out and hopefully my lip doesn't stop working in the next couple of days. Background: I don't smoke. I don't drink alcohol or caffeine. I'm generally healthy and hydrated. I was even complimented on my lips before the procedure. I don't see why I would be a special case that needs this many units. Update 4/4 I spoke to Sonia today and apparently, I received two services but wasn't aware of it. All I ever mentioned was a lip flip. Also, a little surprised that she kept saying she would prefer not to respond on yelp with my "private/personal" information and made it seem like she would rather have me take down my post or change it or else she'd have to post my "personal" details. If you'd prefer to not do something, then just don't do it. That's just my humble opinion but I'm pretty transparent so go ahead. read more

Not transparent on price increases. But wanted to support local Alameda woman of color owned business. One of a couple of the treatments provided left me with first degree laser burns on my face. Sonja iced my face for about 45 minutes, apologized and wrote 2 prescriptions to heal properly. I went in about 2 weeks (?) for follow-up. I admit my face looked good but at a burn price. She said if I had any issues, recovery, product, treatments etc to contact the office. When I requested a reimbursement for prescriptions she asked if my insurance would cover it and I said no, so she deducted it. No other deductions. Based on a medical appt with my Dr. it was suggested that I follow up with her. I made three phone calls/visits for follow-up and never received a call back. I don't do many reviews, and had moved on to another place, but I recently received a notice from Rejuvenate Wellness Spa, saying "we miss you" and to go into the 2026 new year with a new you, make an appointment...This confirmed that I made the right choice of continuing and completing my Skin Reset journey elsewhere. My experience with RWS made me look further and fortunately I found a different esthetician nearby. The pricing is transparent and less than I paid previously, excellent follow-up (she calls me!) support and just an overall better chair experience. I use less product! Last month I visited Rejuvenate Wellness Spa for the first time. The spa is tucked in the back of the Encinal Market Shopping Center, conveniently located 10 minutes away from my home. I had an appointment for a Hydrafacial with Sonia and I have never had a facial before. She made me feel very at ease and explained the exfoliation process with the wand as she went along. I also enjoyed her manual massage with the moisturizers afterwards. My skin felt so smooth and cleansed after the procedure and I saw the dirty water containing the "gunk" that was removed from my face. For context, I am a 33 year old male. I've always had visible pores, but within the past year, they became larger which really affected my self esteem. I also suffer from discoloration/hyper-pigmentation. Initially, I scheduled a facial with the lovely Liz. During my facial, Liz suggested a chemical peel to help reduce the pore size. The chemical peel was great and I got quick results after the shedding. After some time, I felt my pores still appeared large so I returned for a follow up check in. Sonia heard my concerns and then suggested I try Micro-Needling with PRP. She explained it could help with discoloration, skin texture and give an overall brighter appearance. I booked 3 sessions, each a month apart and I was so grateful that Sonia worked with my schedule. She stayed much later than she had to in order to ensure I was properly set after each treatment. After the first treatment, I was very hopeful. The down time is only about a day or so with some bruising which was great because I did not want to miss work like I had with the chemical peel. I started noticing results 3 weeks after my first treatment, going into my 2nd treatment. She was very clear though that the overall results will appear throughout the coming months. After the second treatment, I saw even better results. I could not deny there was improvement in the areas I was concerned for. Well, it's now been 2 weeks since completing my 3rd treatment and I have to say I am so satisfied with the results. There's been such a HUGE improvement in the reduction in the size of my pores and my complexion is overall brighter. My confidence is so much better and that's all I really wanted. I'm grateful for Sonia in her advice, experience, and the shared struggle she shared with skin texture. I left each treatment feeling more confident and accepting of myself through her help. Wow! I came to this office for the first time and I was so impressed! I had a hydra facial first and my skin felt so good after. I was so relaxed during the facial too. Getting my face waxed is necessary and never a good time, but she manages to make it such an enjoyable experience. As a regular (every two weeks), this is the first time the provider adds in massage, and other things that seem to be doing my skin wonders beyond just waxing. Monica works miracles. I then had a hydro facial recently along with my waxing and it was so relaxing and truly rejuvenating. She recommended products with good specific instructions on how to use them, and my skin feels at least 10 years younger.
