Hello folks, this review is ... wow over 4 years from my initial appointment. As I was booking other appointments, i realized I haven't had to book a waxing appointment for my legs in years! Here are the results from areas I lasered: Legs - I haven't shaved or waxed my legs in 4 years. No growth to worry about, no issues. The only place I have hair is on my knees as I wasn't able to do laser on them due to scrapes from a running fall. It is funny to see the hair there when there isn't any elsewhere on my legs. Underarms - I occasionally do shave here. I used to have very thick, south asian underarm hair and shaving it just made it thicker over time. I do have light hair growth here, but the hair is so thin it's rarely noticeable. So yes, there is hair growth here but the discomfort of having thick underarm hair is gone! Face - unfortunately where I ended up having the most re-growth. I've had a unibrow my whole life and I was excited that lasering it would make it a non-issue. Unfortunately, I still get my brows threaded because the hair growth was the same. I do think the mustache area an d chin have less hair growth, but there is still more than I was expecting when getting it done. Overall - Nearly complete hair reduction in 2/3 body parts, with one of those covering half of me! I'm very happy and I've been considering if I should go back and do other areas. read more

Do not go here. I have had Botox treatments for years and never have left a session with such trauma to my face. I had huge swollen bumps that were bruised and stayed bruised for weeks. They were unwilling to do any kind of refund because frankly the damage was already done. Eventually, it healed, but it was a terrible experience with this location. The practitioner was rushed and more interested in getting multiple procedures done at once rather than the safety of the client. Update: A member of the team reached out and were kind, but they were not helpful at all. Their corporate policy is not flexible, and there are still yellow areas on my forehead where the bruising was. read more

I bought the package of 6 for clear and brilliant, and it's been a good experience so far! Appointments are easy to schedule and reschedule, the customer service people are usually friendly, and they allow me come in earlier so I can get 45 minutes of numbing time. My skin is super weird so it takes a long time for me to feel the full effects of the numbing, otherwise the treatment will be super painful! I think the treatments are quick and easy, not too bad on a pain level, and relatively quick healing time. I'm usually red for a day and then my skin looks amazing afterwards for a good week or so. I feel like appointments are pretty pricey, I've asked about other treatments like micro needling and laser hair removal, and they are a bit too pricey for my current budget. They try pretty hard to sell you on extra packages especially now that I only have 1 treatment left. Honestly I would consider repurchasing because I do love the results! Awful. They kept my money even though I had nothing done. March 2020, I paid $1200 for face laser treatment. Then they closed because of covid restriction. After a year they reopened and when I called, they said because I didn't cancel within the year, I can not get my money back. They were closed, as in not open. Do not use this location. I purchased a package of 50 units, of which I was up sold to break into two sessions. I used 34 my first session and had 16 left over. When I went to reschedule for my touchup to use my remaining units. It was noted that all 50 were used in the first setting which they were not. It turns into a he said she said situation. I was really disappointed for the treatment I recieved they promised that the treatment is very effective and this is for my Melasma.i spent 5000$ plus including cream-without any results instead my Melasma to get clear and they even get worst after all clear brilliance treatment and laser that they offered .and when I complained they didn't even care until now I haven't get any update it's almost a month now coz I am requesting for a partial refund if possible . Do not go here. I've had 16 tattoo removal appts, each with a different staff member, most of whom gave me different feedback and had varying levels of competence. In my final session, the staff (Jonnesha) clearly did not know what she was doing and almost forgot to wear gloves for treatment. She lasered an extremely large outside my tattoo area, and then was very sharp with me when I noticed and asked questions, even bringing in another staff which was odd. It's unclear if this will lead to long term scarring but it's completely unacceptable and she was very unprofessional with me. I was assured a manager would call me by 3 pm the next day and I never heard from anyone. After calling multiple times and waiting on hold, I finally spoke with a manager who let me know she could not provide me with a refund because of her status and told me she couldn't say more because she isn't a medical professional. After requesting she ask for a refund from corporate rather than requiring me to, she assured me she would. Just a few minutes later, I received a call from corporate where I had to explain the situation to a 4th person in spite of being told it would be handled for me. This company is abysmal. read more

I went today thinkinhg i was getting treatment but the appointment had been change to only a follow-up. To whomever returns calls for the consultation to book an appointment: You have horrible customer service! You need to get extra support with finding new ways to assist customers with consultations. The person at this location who connected me was very rude, and she talked over me at every point of the conversation as if she did not care if I was booking an appointment or not. TLDR: 10 laser removal visits later all five tattoos still plainly visible. I bought a heavily discounted package of ten visits to treat all five of my tattoos for around four thousand dollars. Still a lot for me but I had decided to try and get them removed for personal reasons. I was told by the customer sales team that ten visits should be enough to remove most of the black outlined tattoos and hopefully the colored ones. After around seven visits when it became plain that none of them would be "removed" I was told that the treatment varies depending on type of ink, how deep the tattoo was, which is all understandable. However the reasons for my one star review beyond none of my tattoos being removed. All my Tattoos were done in different tattoo parlors and in different states so it's not just a case of my personal tattoo artists used really permanent inks and when very very deep. Around half of my visits I was told or noticed that they had overbooked, this resulted in shortened treatment windows and sometimes was rushed where the technician would "wave" the laser over the tattoo in its entirety instead of tracing the lines and filling in the shading. I asked one technician about this and she started crying and so I am guessing it is common, as my last visit today was also overbooked. On several of my visits it did not seem as if the technician ( a different one each time) read through my charts to note what settings had been used, nor did they change settings when going from color to color (the same laser they used on the black outline they used on the red or green filler) I spent a good chunk of change, subjected myself to around two and a half years of treatments only to have more or less the same tattoos only "lightened" If you have like maybe a thin Chinese character or word or something small, this treatment might be worth it given the small amount of space. However if you have a tattoo that took longer then five minutes to put on your skin, it's probably going to stay with you if you come here. read more

Beware of bad injector! I am deeply sad that I am writing this review. I have been going to Laseraway for years and at other locations in socal but while visiting my family in the bay area I decided to give this location a try. My first visit back in May was extremely positive including the welcome desk staff and my injector, I believe named Esther was extremely knowledgable. This convinced me to come back but what a mistake was made! On my visit 2 weeks ago the welcoming from the staff was lackluster but with these types of places it usually is. So it's to be expected. My biggest upset was with who my injector was. I am deeply scarred and traumatized by my experience and believe this injector should not have been working at all! When she greeted me in the room she was chewing gum, so that was quite interesting and very unprofessional. But where the real issue begins is during the injections for my botox she had a severely shaky hand and dropped the injection needle times. I understand our hands shake but she could barely get the needle into the injection site because her hands were shaking so bad. I also believe she mishandled some of the units of botox I was supposed to received due to her negligence. I was kind and calm about her mistake however when it came to injecting my face (which I have had done before and am seasoned in this procedure) her hand was shaking continuously. So much so she could not find a proper placement after making the white dots. I endured the procedure because I simply did not know how to react and was appalled by her actions. Although she apologized for hand even how she was trying to place my botox from behind me in the chair and over my head did not seem correct. In total she dropped the injection needle 3 times and after each time she did re-glove and get a new needle however this is excessive and warrants that she was simply a novice in this field who should not be injecting!. If I ever return to this location I will specifically ask to never be injected by her and hope that others are aware of this. Not only were some of my units wasted but also I noticed a small dimpling on my forehead which I believe was due to misplacement. I hope it wears off but wanted to warn to please be aware of who is injecting you and ask for credentials and background. Hoping to help someone else who doesn't have to experience this. This place gives people incentives to give them good yelp reviews so take all the 5 star reviews with a grain of salt. This is a massive chain so there's a very impersonal and transactional vibe. Their customer service is not good (if something goes wrong or you're unhappy, they will NEVER refund you). If you buy a package and the service doesn't work for you, you're never getting that money back. They still get my package details incorrect when I come in. I still give them 3 stars for the fact that their laser hair removal method does work pretty well. I'm 7 sessions in and almost all of my hair is gone or is very fine which I am happy about. I'm not going to go into personal detail about my experience but they really messed up in my first few sessions. Once I complained, they admitted their mistakes but did nothing to make it right and the whole experience completely turned me off. They miss some spots or do something different in the next session and it's not consistent between nurses. This causes hair growth between sessions to be uneven. There needs to be a standard protocol. I always feel the need to be clear with them to make sure they get the entire area. They aren't the cheapest option nor are they the best option. I actually found that I overpaid for my package even with a "special deal" that was only temporary (it's not temporary, it's a sales tactic). Also, front desk staff- if you hate your job that much, please just don't do it. Save us all the hassle and find a job where you don't have to interface with customers or people in general. The front desk staff was wonderful, I'm terrible with names but the person at the front desk was extremely helpful, even after my procedure she gave very clear aftercare instructions and provided me with some extra Vaseline packets. The nurses were also excellent. I went in for the clear and brilliant treatment with Emily, Emiliana, and Emily. They were very professional and explained the process to me. I was a little nervous going in because I have never done laser treatment before but they were very kind and checked in with me frequently to make sure that I was okay. I was looking for someone who could provide some beauty needs and this place popped up. I thought they only did laser hair removal but I was wrong. They do laser facials, fillers, Botox, and of course laser hair removal. The space is clean and bright and when I arrived I was taken back right away. The nurses are very skilled and sweet. The rooms are beautiful. The staff at the front desk are always very helpful, in person or on the phone. They also do a lot of specials, like really good value. It's also super easy to part because it's at Bay Street. I love it here. Also the calendar, appointments system is top notch. read more

My best friend and I both treated ourselves to three IPL treatments here. See my friend's results. IPL treatments are uncomfortable and the higher settings are painful. My results were mixed. My skin appeared more even but the dark spots remained. In fact, since it lightened my skin overall, it might have actually made my dark spots look more prominent. Skin does look a little fresher and younger but I'm now using a chemical treatment to get rid of the remaining dark spots. My best friend came to remove his Rosacea and it appears to have helped (see skin). His skin does look more even. However, he wasn't given the nourishing treatment mask after his treatment. I was given one each time so I wonder why he didn't get one? Maybe because he has a beard? He only got one the first time. I would think his skin needs the nourishment too. In any case, this particular Laseraway in Emeryville seems like they have some good nurses but I took one star away since they are inconsistent about aftercare. read more

Have been going here for the past year for laser hair removal and have really enjoyed the experience overall. Super friendly front desk staff (Mimi, Gail) always help answer all of my questions and navigate appointments for times that work best for my schedule. The nurses are also super friendly and efficient (had Meg this past visit and she was great). After having completed a full 8 course treatment for shoulders and back, I am definitely pleased with the results. For me personally, the shoulders were a little painful since it's such a sensitive area but the nurses always helped me get through it. Back isn't too bad at all especially after doing the shoulders first (I prefer to get the harder part out of the way first). While I've only been to this LaserAway location, I believe they do provide high quality service - so much that I signed up for a heavily discounted maintenance package just in case I need a touch up in the future. Yassy was such a vibe literally from the moment she called me from my appointment Reminder! Then we chatted about Botox which I never had and babe! Arrived to my appointment on time. Walked in and two people were being helped, so I decided to wait outside (right by the door) until they were finished. There was little room inside, and there's still Covid. During my wait, I tried peeking in a few times and Alyssa didn't so much as look up. I eventually walk in and am still not acknowledged until Alyssa finished bantering with the last lady. I try to check in and am told (by director Alyssa) that I cannot be treated because there's only 5 min left in my appointment. I explain that I've been waiting and was told I should have interrupted her helping the two people to announce my presence for an appointment. Alyssa then refuses to reschedule my appointment, pushing me off onto customer service. I request to reschedule in person and she tells me the "first available" appointment is over a month out. I ask for a Wednesday and all of a sudden there's an available appointment in two weeks. Terrible !! read more

Do not go here for lip filler!!! The nurses are trained by a board certified injector, they are not board certified. The entire experience has been so stressful. The salesperson is very pushy and way too fake about how I wold love my results. I went with it because I wanted to get my lips done (1st time). I was asked to numb in the bathroom. Meaning I put numbing cream on my lips, in the bathroom. I had to get a doctors note to do the procedure because I have a history of allergic reactions. An additional cost for the note and the nurse did not preform a prick test. In spite of my doctor recommendation. I had uneven volume in my lips and natural bumps, a reason to get filler, but the shape of my lips were even. I told the first nurse multiple times my lips were uneven, she said they were probably swollen and to wait until my second session. I walked around for two weeks with visibly uneven lips. It was embarrassing and I even stated my concerns about getting a more skilled nurse to correct it. My second session, the nurse had no knowledge of my concern, in spite of my request. She was very kind, and focused on the side that was left with lumps. She didn't have enough to put on the side that lacked volume. All of which she vocalized. The right side has a concave border whereas the left has volume. The bottom line of the right is visibility uneven. The bow on top has filler on one side and none on the other. There is a little on the border but not even volume. She asked me if I wanted to dissolve the filler because the lumps were pretty noticeable. I asked her to clarify, meaning the filler is wasted, your time and money gone. If not to file a complaint with customer service if I was unsatisfied. Two separate nurses did my filler. That's standard practice. Not because I requested a correction, the second nurse had no knowledge of my request. Which said to me they lack communication. Which is extremely important if two different people are doing your procedure. I gave it two weeks and I could still see the uneven line. I kept getting emails to rate my experience. I gave it a unsatisfactory rating. Two different people did my filler, leaving my lips uneven. I requested someone pay extra attention to the unevenness from the first, I had a virtual consultation to address it, went to my second session and the nurse knew nothing. I was contacted by Ranika Maharaj, Regional Clinical Director. Because my review. I stated my concerns and she set up an appointment to see me in person and assess me IN PERSON. The day of my appointment, she didn't show up. I was seen by a 3rd nurse who had no idea why I was there. She asked what we were doing. I mentioned I had an appointment with Maharaj that she set up. The nurse came back with an iPad so she could zoom her. Maharaj giggled, excusing herself because it completely slipped her mind. She immediately mentioned noticing the lumps on my lips. We had a zoom visit, which I felt was defeating the purpose of my visit. The third nurse was instructed to massage my filler. She in the presence of Maharaj stated there was a cluster on one side and it was uneven. The iPad died while our meeting and the nurse went to get another one. She took pictures and that was it. I was instructed to massage with a hot towel. Ranika Maharaj sent me a follow up email, stating my lips had natural lumps. She went on about how she does the procedure and her recommendations. I mentioned that none of that was mentioned to me at my appointment. I also found it insulting as she didn't even make our appointment. That it was her medical opinion they were much more even now. She stated she would reach out to customer service. My response to her was that I was aware of my natural lip's having the shape they did, that's why I got filler. My lips may have more volume now which over all may seem more "even". The outside border has volume on the right and is concave and uneven on the left. I realize results will vary, however I strongly believe that their practice is unprofessional and unorganized. They have a very corporate way of doing business. It doesn't feel personalized to you. There was zero accountability from the Clinical Director, a lot of deflecting. Bottom line I don't recommend going here for lip filler. I imagine most of us are very particular about our lips and how they look, especially if you are young or middle aged with a specific expectation. If those are not realistic then understandable. I feel I walked in with very reasonable expectations and I was met with this. If your lips are imperfect in any way expect that may be used against your end results. Which defeats the purpose in my opinion. I much rather go to one person who is board certified, who will use artistry to map out results. For the same price. read more

I originally purchased my first round of hair removal treatments from Groupon back in August 2020. Then I purchased the Three IPL treatment package and the results of the IPL were great as expected. I kept going for my laser hair removal to treatment my cheeks. For context, I've had laser hair removal back in 2010 on my neck and cheeks, and the hair on my cheeks started growing back after 10ish years. So I knew it was time to treat it again. After the 3rd treatment, I did not notice any hair reduction on my cheeks and the hair instead started growing back thicker due to shaving before treatment. I kept informing the nurse that I was not seeing results. The front desk recommended I purchased another treatment package because more treatments will improve the results. I purchased another six sessions but told them that the hair kept growing and it was thicker than before. I kept going consistently and did not notice any results. I even went to the office unshaved so they can see that the hair was still growing back. After reviewing my calendar, I see a total of 12 treatments scheduled and I decided to skip the last two treatments because they were just becoming a waste of time. I would avoid this place altogether. They have a high nurse turnover and that will negatively impact your treatment due to the lack of communication. read more

I'm now two separate treatments in at LaserAway. I came for hair removal (in Walnut Creek) and that has gone pretty well, so I came back for my IPL treatments (in Emeryville). I'm 4 treatments in, and have had a few appointments with Kristine, but this is the first one that has prompted a review. I mean, all expectations have been met, but I really feel like she knows her stuff with the IPL and the treatments are making a huge difference with her expertise! I'd show photos, but maybe I'll attach them at the end of the treatment process. There's a massive improvement in my skin.
