I love my neighborhood Walgreens. They have the best selection of snacks, cards, and Gatorade. It is sports season and the night before the game...I was running over for Gatorade and Gummy Bears. I couldn't find the flavor my granddaughter likes and asked for help. The nice lady took me over to the refrigerator and I found 3. So, I bought them all. I also bought some Gummy Bears for an extra boost of energy during the game. I may have sneaked a few red ones myself. ; ) So, if you are in need just wander over to your local Walgreens and they will help you out for your big game day. read more

If you think it is difficult to break through and talk to a pharmacist, try CVS' new routine. You CAN'T speak to a pharmacist. After about 10 minutes of utter frustration they finally tell you to leave a voicemail. I have found this Walgreens at Seven Locks Road much easier and much more consumer friendly. Pharmacy Dept terrible in picking up the calls. I get multiple drop/hang up calls. I'm trying to avoid driving in just to get answers on when I will actually get my meds. I came a couple times and every time they say it will be ready the next day and the next day and so on. Huge Walgreens located in a strip mall off of Seven Locks Rd in Potomac. They offer all kinds of vaccine shots such as shingles, flu, etc., they're "free" but they will charge your health insurance provider. No idea what happens if you have no insurance. read more

This pharmacy is notoriously slow. They might have two people working the prescription pick up, but it seems like it's always really slow. The people are super friendly who work there but the system just doesn't work. There's always a line and they really need to hire more people. Also seems like they might be doing some outsourcing with the pharmacy or something post my simple prescription that was put in early on a Friday morning was not available until Tuesday morning for pick up. I needed to fill antibiotics and cough medicine right away because of an ear infection. Arrived at the pharmacy WELL BEFORE THEY CLOSE AT 9pm. Was there around 8-8:30pm. The slim figured fair skinned Asian male pharmacist refused to fill the scripts. But not because the Rx is out of stock. He explained that he wants to do paperwork now so he can go home on time at 9pm. It was m well before 8:30pm and I can't emphasize enough that the pharmacy don't close until 9pm. He claimed that the earliest the scripts will be ready is sometimes tomorrow. Given how ill and lousy I was feeling, I was in disbelief. I can understand it if the prescription can't be filled because it's out of stock. But to blatantly tell a customer it can't be filled until tomorrow so he can go home at 9pm promptly? I can also understand it if I rolled in at 8:59:59 or something like that. But no. This was well before that. UNREAL. And this isn't the first time I've had similar issues with this pharmacy and hence, I am writing this review. I normally go to the one on 12222 Veirs Mill Road because they have much better customer service and turnaround time. I went to the Seven Locks location tonight because the one I love was closed already. (i.e., they close at 8pm instead of 9pm). Cannot tell everyone enough to just avoid this hell hole. read more

This is the closest location of Walgreens for us and we occasionally stop by here to get medical supplies and photos. The location is off to the side in a busy shopping strip. Parking can be a challenge given the popularity of other stores here. The store is well organized and clean and that is all the store is good for. The staff is mildly helpful on a good day. Also, the hours are limited compared to the CVS down the road. Because of these reasons, this is not my preferred store for pharmacy supplies. read more

I became very ill with Covid and I am immune compromised My doctor called in Paxlovid which they said they would deliver that day. The drug must be started no later than the third day of onset. The drug was never delivered. I called as soon as they opened next day. They apologized and said the Uber driver didn't show and it would be delivered by 4 that day. Again it never arrived. I begged the pharmacist to get me the medicine but she said she could not arrange it because Corporate would not allow it. I am alone during their business hours, with no car. Walgreen's should not say they have same day delivery when they obviously do not. They are part of the medical community and the were heartless and put me in medical danger. Do not rely on Walgreens at Seven Locks. I would give no stars if that was an option. read more

I find the pharmacy to be very frustrating, despite the friendliness of those who work there. I called in a refill, waited a 4 days to pick it up, got there and they insisted I was out of refills and needed a new prescription, yet I got a reminder that my prescription was ready to pick up. OK, I wait for them to contact my doctor. She refills my prescription, I go to pick it up, but am told that Thursday to come on Monday. I come on Tuesday, New Years, at 5:15 pm, because the email reminder I have says they are open until 9 pm, but they just closed at 5 pm. Not open on New Years. Frustrating. You can't call because no one answers the phone there. read more

This location is tucked away in a small shopping center behind Park Potomac. It's super easy to park at and the staff inside are super friendly. I don't shop for groceries at Walgreens but will stop by to grab discounted paper towels or laundry detergent. Items are always in stock and the lines move very quickly. The photo department is also really nice. I print a few 8x10s here a month since I don't have a printer that does photos that large. The photos are always ready to go and they have a neat notification system that allows you to have other people pick up your order. For a convenience/grocery story it's pretty no frills which is what I look for. If you have a sweet tooth make sure to go the day after Halloween and you can buy candy by the pound. read more

Are you guys actively trying to spread covid?! They have turned me away twice when I have an appointment for a vaccine and are telling me to just go make another online appointment and cross my fingers. Meanwhile I'm trying to get a tumor removed but can't until I get this shot and my wife is suffering with MS. This is the only place that I can find the Moderna shot that I need and they consistently let me down and show zero concern. This is why we have a covid problem, not just because of stupid anti bad people. Even the people who want a vaccine can't get it because of Walgreens. Update- I just got my shot done at Sam's club, no problem, no bad attitude pharmacists, no lazy people canceling confirmed appointments. Called Walgreens pharmacy and wished to speak to the Pharmacy staff concerning a perscription that had a status of "in progress" for the previous 3 days. Waited on hold for over 25 minutes and had a Pharmacy staff member asnswer 4 times with a quick "please hold" during this period. My experience with this particular Walgreens Pharmacy has continue to decrease from good to bad over tha last 2 years. I quit using CVS at Cabin John because of poor service and went to this Walgreens years ago. May have to reconsider other options. read more

This pharmacy has some of the worst pharmacists I have ever experienced. Two times the pharmacist did not fill my prescription correctly. She seems incapable of counting pills. The first time it happened she actually told me that I should have noticed there was not enough pills in the bottle. I told her it was not my job to count the pills, it was her job. She gave me a hard time about giving me the pills I was due and since it was too soon for my insurance to cover a refill and it was an antibiotic I needed the pills. She told me the manager would call me back. The manager never called me back. I called back irate the next day and spoke to another pharmacist (thank goodness. I told this pharmacist how the other pharmacist attempted to blame me for not counting my pills. I told her I did not get the call from the manager I was told I would get. I told her the pharmacist told me she was overwhelmed with the number of phone calls asking about the covid vaccines to which I responded to her that she should complain to Walgreens about that...not to to me as I had my own problems. I told her emphatically that I needed my antibiotic pills IMMEDIATELY and since I was not asking for a drug with street value, it is an antibiotic and she should give me the pills I was supposed to be given. This pharmacist told me to come in and she would have them ready for me. And that is not the end of the story. I had another prescription for antibiotic filled last week. I was short 5 pills. This time I got an apology and was told to come in and she would give them to me. I went in, the pharmacist I spoke to had left her shift and it took the one who was there a good 10 minutes to locate where she put them. This was after waiting in line to get them. I hate this pharmacy but it is so conveniently located. If this happens again I am out of there!!! read more

Can I give a place zero stars? This pharmacy is beyond horrible. First of all, no one ever answers the phone. This morning I was on hold for 2 hours before I talked to a human. Then I went to pick it up and waited in line for 30 minutes only to be told "we have 36 orders and can only see 5 of them, we will get back to you". They never did and when I tried to call them back this evening I was on hold for 75 minutes before someone picked up and then HUNG UP. Now they're closed and I won't be getting my prescription today. This review is only for the Walgreen's pharmacy, as the store itself is great. One of the pharmacy techs sent my refill request to the wrong doctor's office, which is a potential HIPPA violation. I called and spoke to a pharmacist directly about this, and she seemed quite unconcerned. Also, I have gone to this pharmacy after receiving a text that my prescription was ready, waited in a long line, only to be told that my prescription was not ready. The pharmacy techs do not appear to be well trained in the various aspects of handling medications for the public. read more

I give this Walgreens a five star rating since the staff really goes out of their way to please their customers. Yes- I have been able to get what I need in a timely fashion, be able to return items with no problem, and to be dealing with courteous sales staff from the moment I walk in the door. I find that this Walgreens being around the corner from my apartment is also conveniently located. Stephanie in cosmetics stays with you and waits on you by letting you know what products are best for your skin type , as well as what is new on the front of skin care. She really knows her stuff. She is always so pleasant. The counter staff are so helpful in checking you through as your time comes up waiting in line. I love the reward points I get and often walk out with having gotten back $5 to $10 off my bill. In closing I know this is a safe, courteous store where I know I will always walk out pleased. This Wags is near my apartment, so I shop here rather frequently and get two of my cats scripts filled here and used the GoodRX coupon App here. I did purchase the Wags Pharmacy Benefit for the one cat, but honestly it's not really worth the savings, as the price for that differs on the medication daily, just like the GoodRX prices do on the app. So it's really not worth the annual cost of the Wags Plan. The cost of the plan is per cat as well, you cannot just buy one plan for the entire household, so I'd hold off or really do the math prior to buying. We did the math and thought we'd need it long term for our one cat, but he turned out not needing the medication long term. The staff, the staff here is superb! Especially the cashier, Joe W., Renee E., and Christina D., (she's new). Joe has an amazing personality, his smile and charisma is contagious, he always greets guests as they enter the store, and is always willing to assist. He will call for backup if the line for the register is too long. Renee is eager to help if you need anything when trying to locate a product or if you have questions about something in the sales flyer or if you need assistance with coupons or points during your transaction. Christina is new, but eager to learn, she's in good hands with these two! I have shopped at other Wags in the area, but will only shop at this one due to how I've been treated by other employees at other shops. My only complaint is that sometimes they are out of stock on sale items but I don't blame the staff, I blame the company, since they recently changed the points allocation on the rewards system. Also, the extreme couponers make this very difficult as well, I know this because I belong to extreme couponer groups on FB and they post about their hauls and where to go, what deals to get, etc., it's hard to get items when they clear the shelves. read more

I often stop by here to grab a Redbull or a greeting card after I drop my oldest daughter off at school. The store is pretty well stocked and has very courteous employees. The parking lot is big so I usually get front row parking and parking in case you haven't noticed is a big issue for me. I like to be able to go in and out of a place without circling for a spot, What I do not care for is the pharmacy department. Twice I have called to check on a prescription, been told it was ready but had to wait once I arrived to pick up. And for some reason they told me my insurance would not cover my migraine meds yet the Walgreens in Potomac had no problem getting insurance approval which leads me to believe they were just too ummm busy? lazy? to call it in and decided full price was just easier. So I like this location for everything except the pharmacy department. Oh and they act like you asked them to cut off a pinky toe if you want them to call your doctor for refill approval and once I had a refill on my bottle but they refused it saying I really didn't have any refills left even though I KNOW I did and once they refilled the same medicine TWICE at the same time so I thought I was getting two different meds but really I got home and found out they had given me two bottles of the exact same thing. I visited several times recently. Including twice to pick up a prescription. The pharmacy proved professional courteous service.

The pharmacy staff at this Walgreen's seem incompetent. I have dealt with Walgreen's in other locations for a long time, but this Walgreen's pharmacy seems unable to give clear explanations and were unhelpful in filling my most recent prescription. It took me two hours of back and forth and everyone gave me a different story. Even the store manager was unhelpful. I gave up and canceled my prescription there. Furthermore, the pharmacist at the pharmacy to which I am transferring my prescription just called and said she is unable to get anyone at Walgreen's to answer the phone. They keep hanging up on her. This Walgreen's is not even that convenient to where I live, the only reason I went there is because I've had my prescriptions at Walgreen's for years. Not planning to go back. read more

She cuts the customer off when they have questions and complains about how busy she is and doesn't have time to deal with the issue. She talks so loud that my ear drums ache! Called in a refill, and used the voice activated automated system successfully for one of the prescriptions, but had trouble with the other prescription, so was connected to the store pharmacy. I was put on hold for several minutes and then a guy answered, only to put me on hold again for several more minutes. I explained that I needed a 2nd prescription, and he said, "Okay, I'll cancel the prescription you ordered." I said, "Please, do not cancel it." He assured me he didn't cancel it. Then, he misinformed me that it was too soon for a refill for the other prescription and gave me a wrong number to request to get permission to get the prescription covered by medical insurance. I wasted a lot of time discovering he gave me the phone number for the wrong insurance company, and when I went to pick up the 1st prescription the following day, I found out that he cancelled it. I am wondering whether he was deliberately making things difficult or if he's completely incompetent. Either way, it's dangerous to lose a day to refill a prescription. My mother got her flu shot here, and I liked the young woman who administered it, because she was friendly and painless. She is why I gave this Walgreens 2 stars instead of one. The young man who was at the counter that day was very rude. He loudly said, "This pharmacy does not have the flu shot except for people over 65, but you look like you are over 65." I had already told him the flu shot would be for my mother, and I am quite a few years under 65, so his opinion on my age was rude, unprofessional, and unnecessary. I hope, now that I realize how mixed up this pharmacy is, that my Mom was given the right vaccine! I will not be coming back, even though it's the closest pharmacy. read more

I'm done with Walgreens! I hate the way I'm treated each time I go into this particular store to pick up my meds. The people in the pharmacy are rude and unorganized. They are no help to folks, just sending elderly people away with no help searching for their meds or anything. I've seen it myself! That same staff seems clueless as to how to work their own system. I gave them a change of address several times, yet it's never updated. Also, they put on one of my medication bottles, take as needed for pain. What? I do not take pain pills, my meds are nothing like pain pills, not even close! I went in because they said my medication was ready to be picked up. I get there and it's my turn to approach the counter, the dude just walks away leaving me there for a long time! Then I said, okay so I guess he's not coming back. Then another pharmacy tech came to me. She came over with a very "matter of fact" attitude only to tell me that my meds are not ready and will not be ready for days! What? I drove 8 miles, nearly ran off the road by these crazy drivers, only to be told basically it aint here and get lost! That's it.....I called cvs and im now going there. The store is right inside the shopping mall, not too difficult to find. I went there for just dropping off the package at Fedex counter. However, needed to buy a tape to wrap the box. I went to the counter with my small tiny purchase, however staff over at the counter-he had very big smile. He even offered me to look up my rewards with walgreens by put in my phone number. Just small tiny thing, but I think he done his great job (some store dont provide the services). I got my tape, went back to my car and came back to the store to drop off the box. At Fedex counter, there was nobody. I just waited there for some helps. Then, the same staff helped find someone to help me out! That's awesome. I called this is customer service. read more

It's a chain pharmacy so they pretty much have the same items as the other stores. However, I do want to say that the employees are reallynice and helpful. CVS is my go-to, but they ran out of crutches so I came here instead. I asked the cashier if they had any crutches and she goes to ask the manager. Upon seeing me limping, the manager goes and gets it for me. They even helped me remove the packaging and set it to the right height. Usually at places like this, people tend to mind their own business. read more

I can only speak of the photo department, but it was not a good experience. They printed the lady in front of us a calendar upside-down and then didn't get to us after she left for another 10 minutes. They were not really helpful and we had to suggest to get our order transferred to another Walgreens which they told us they would. However, the other Walgreens on Cabin John did not receive the order transfer.. The service was sloppy and not with a smile. Worst pharmacy ever. Pharmacist on duty argued with me regarding an Rx for a schedule II drug. Over and over again stating that the law was that the Rx was expired per the law. Not sure if this person has a current license, need to talk to management, because the law is "A prescription for a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance shall be dispensed within 120 days of the date of issue". The Dr. put a stamp on the Rx that it could not be filled until 2 months it was issued. We are well within the 4months. Don't go here! The pharmacist doesn't can't even interpret basic pharmacy law! read more

STOLE MY MONEY. Placed an online order and paid for delivery. 10 hours later, no delivery and they REFUSE TO REFUND MY MONEY. They will only issue a refund if I come into the store and provide them with my physical credit card, although they took my money online without the physical credit card with no problem. Had I not just had surgery, I would've driven to the damn store myself... But since I'm not allowed to drive I placed the online order that never arrived, and since I can't drive how am I supposed to get to the store to present them with my credit card to get a refund.
