This was my primary pharmacy and go-to CVS up until now...they had good service and once a nurse from the MinuteClinic even kindly walked me to my car when some random person outside the entrance began harassing me. This is the reason for the two stars. But things have changed and lately it hasn't been as welcoming or organized. There are still a few friendly associates at the cash register but I don't see many of staff who were once here. During a recent power outage things were very confusing (no sign was placed outside the store to let customers know what was going on)--as I was about to go in right at the beginning of the outage i was suddenly stopped at the door (by one of managers I think) and told the store was closed due to no power. I went back to my car but then the lights came on again and a customer who had just arrived walked in. I waited a bit and then went in too (I forgot the errand but I had to get something that day). Then after finding my items and going to the register everyone waiting there was told the power was off again (actually I had to learn that from another customer, as the lights were on but something with the machines was off) and that there might be a twenty minute wait. I decided to put all my items back on the shelves and leave. There was just no plan on the part of the store or clear communication about what was happening, I've also had the absolute worst experiences at the pharmacy. I had not picked up prescriptions here in awhile so I didn't know anything was wrong until a few of my current medications were already filled. Then when I went to pick up an order one day the pharmacist at the window rudely told me that one of my medications (out of two) was filled but that my insurance didn't cover the second medication and I'd have to pay the full cost (of course it was an important medication). One, the pharmacy never called or texted to let me know this. In fact I received a text that my order was ready. Two, what the pharmacist told me was completely wrong, as I would find out later. Three, she was extremely impolite throughout my interaction with her. When I asked how much my medication would cost she referred me to another pharmacist who told me I had to call another pharmacy to have them send it over to CVS. I didn't understand this reasoning but she appeared impatient and as if I should have understood. I asked for her to print out my prescription (how was I going to call another pharmacy and tell them anything without that?) as she hadn't even offered to help further. I guess it didn't matter to these pharmacists I had come to pick up a prescription I had received notification was ready only to find out one of the medications actually wasn't and that I had pay full cost for it because my insurance "didn't cover it" ....unless I called another pharmacy to send it over?? I took the printout she gave me and then purchased the medication that *was* ready (actually they hadn't bothered to give it to me so I had to go back and ask for it). I went over to another pharmacy with the printout and tried to explain what the CVS person had told me (and said I was confused). Guess what? That pharmacist was straight with me and told me that my insurance plan DID cover my medication but they just did not work with CVS anymore. I spent a few more hours transferring all my prescriptions to this new pharmacy and instructed my PCP never to send anything to CVS again. read more

This CVS was decent. I came in with my son to pick up a few things and I got some Advil, snacks, and my son picked up money from Moneygram. The store needed to be restocked for the cereal that was on sale along with some snacks, but that's about all I saw that needed to be restocked. It was after 5pm., so customers were picking up some groceries, snacks and prescriptions. The store has Halloween candy and etc for that holiday and they also have some Christmas items out for that holiday which is my favorite. :-) I did find some deals for hair products as well. They have a board up in front of the store that show you how to save $10 on medicine and etc. If I need to come to CVS, I will most likely come back here if I'm on this end of town. read more

The girl at the register has an ongoing attitude and I'm surprised she still has her job, given that she has no people skills whatsoever. Due to my last few experiences with this particular pharmacy, I'm taking my business elsewhere and would not recommend this place. I'd like to echo the other negative reviews that this is not the greatest CVS, though such thing as a beloved chain convenience store seems pretty unheard of. This location is very understaffed at both the front registers and the pharmacy. It's kind of surprising given that this is a good location at a development like Rockville Town Square. My 'hack' for picking up prescriptions is to use the drive through window. I've seen one pharmacist manning 2 registers at once when you walk in, so I learned to visit the drive-thru instead. read more

Obviously I am not alone in this review as this is clearly a poorly rated CVS. First of all the location is not great as you have to pull into a parking garage to access parking or the drive-thru. The pharmacy members are not friendly at all. I dropped off my prescription at 3:30 and was told it would take a half an hour to fill, and when I came back at 6:20 to pick it up they were just starting to "work on it" and told me to come back in 10 minutes. :( Thank goodness this is not a medical emergency. read more

This is for the pharmacy. Rude & useless when it comes to service. Now three days past when I was told to come back to pick up a prescription. Then they ask if I can wait till Monday because it's on back order...same reason the other three times I came to check. I asked a pretty simple question; is there a Cvs store close by that may have it? They call one...Viola...they have it. Here's the kicker... I ask another some question; is checking with another store for a customer protocol? The answer - "sir, calling is a courtesy. I found it so let's move on." Wow UPDATE 3 DAYS LATER They never sent my prescription to the other store. And now I'm waiting at this other CVS, waiting for the original, crappy CVS, to STILL FAX over my stuff...WTF!!!!!!!!!! This has been my "local" CVS for nearly six years, and it's going downhill. Which is sad because it didn't exactly start at the top. After today, I've had it. Sometimes their scrip automation calls work, but usually they don't. I have to just go and see if they have it. On Monday, they refused to turn the photo print machine on for my 1-hour order. I called this morning nearly 48 hours later, and they still didn't have my photos. Two employees tried to help me on the phone. One constantly interrupted me and insisted I wasn't spelling my own last name properly. They asked me to resend the order. NO. Just NO. This is not a one-off incident. Most employees here are rude and shouldn't even talk to shoppers other than the basics of checking them out, or this location should get more self-checkouts. You always have to wait for an employee to stop doing nothing to come be rude to you to check you out. read more

There's one woman who works here who obviously just has no idea what she's doing ever. My mom and I have been picking up our prescriptions from this CVS for years with no problem from any other staff except this woman, I'm not sure of her name but she has a very thick accent. She told me my mom wasn't even in the system which I know is impossible. She asked for date of birth which I gave to her and she asked me to repeat it 6 more times each with her tone being surprised that somebody is born in 1963????..... oh well. Guess my mom won't have her medicine on time? Cmon. Update, a couple years ago I came her to the minute clinic and had a minor allergic reaction to amoxicillin which should've been kept documented at the minute clinic. This year a new person started working there and prescribed me amoxicillin for ... THE FLU.. (?) and I broke out in the worst hives I've ever had in my life. We rely on the people at the pharmacy and minute clinic to be here for us assisting our health! read more

Rudest people working at this pharmacy I had to wait over ten minutes, before I could finish my sentence the horrible person transferred me to the front counter, I was retransferred back to another rude person who hung up on me. On hold listening to stupid ads and brand messages for a total of 40 minutes today. The company has cut back on staff who are harried and have no idea who you are, and they get orders wrong. When they did not have my medication, they did not offer to call other branches. It is not the fault of the very nice staff. It is just that they have too much to do. This CVS Pharmacy has the rudest pharmacists. The two working here are absolutely arrogant, technically incompetent, and useless. At first they said they don't have the drug, later they changed and said that they do have it. They are super slow at preparing and treat you basically like a piece of shit. Hmmmmm ... a drug store is a drug store is a drug store to me but here it goes ... I went to CVS pharmacy to get a prescription filled (shocker I know lol). Anyway, this particular CVS pharmacy had a drive-thru component, which seems to be popping up all over the place. I'm not used to drive-thru pharmacies and thought I would give this one a try. Lo and behold when I pull up to the drive-thru it was out of order, so I walked my lazy behind the extra 10 feet or so into the store to get my prescription filled. The staff was wonderful. They got me in and out of there in less than 30 minutes. This would have been a five-star review if the drive-thru this pharmacy advertised with signage was not out of order. It is pretty cool that the pharmacy texts you when your prescription is ready. Never try and get anything other than normal store goods or your Rx here. I've tried and failed 3 separate times to get pictures here and each time their photo machine is broken. Do they send an email to let customers know it's broken? No. I went in to pick them up and found out the machine was broken. Went online and transferred my pictures to a different CVS so I thought "Hey, I'll call CVS - Hungerford and let them know so they don't double print my pictures when their machine is working again." The manager and the clerk I talked to both said they didn't need to cancel my order because they weren't going to print any of the picture orders that came through while the machine was broken. When I asked if they were going to tell the other customers that, they got an attitude and said I had fixed my problem so why should I care about other people? Even though I can walk to this CVS from my home, I'm never coming here again. Completely worthless. read more

It is interesting that my recent Yelp review regarding CVS Hungerford Drive was removed to the Yelp "not recommended" bin. I was joined by one other review in that bin. We both claimed that the pharmacy incorrectly dispensed our medications. Long story short, don't trust this pharmacy to dispense your prescription medications correctly. read more

The store is always backed up at the checkout counter and the clerks are mostly rude. The pharmacy has a few good people but my review is because the last time I was there the girl at the register decided it was her business to look at everything I was purchasing. Regardless of your Dr. Calling your prescription in, you always wait at least a half hour and the staff truly does not care even if you're in serious pain as I was yesterday. Very dated interior, carpet full of stains. Many of the shelves are in disarray, the frozen food section especially is always a complete mess. Lots of items are completely sold out and the ones that aren't gone are strewn all over the shelves. The employees are hit or miss - one lady was rude for no reason, but several others have been very polite and pleasant. I try to go to the Walgreens across the street because it's much newer, larger selection and the merchandise is neatly arranged and in-stock. read more

Inside this is just like any other cvs. The difference is that the staff here is incredibly rude. For that reason I would only shop at this location if there was absolutely no other option. We ordered photos to be printed out for our daughter's first birthday party. CVS gave us a confirmation and a time to pick up the prints. We arrived only to find that their printer was broken and they didn't call to let us know that we weren't going to get the prints we need for the birthday party. Had we known we could've ordered our prints at target or walmart. I understand machines break from time to time, but there is a phone next to you. The employees are professional and always appear to be very busy but the length of time you have to wait for a prescription is at best 45 minutes to an hour. I called from my work office to get information for a client that was looking into ordering Melatonin from us but wanted to call to see if getting it from CVS pharmacy would be less expensive if they even carried it, I spoke to a pharmacy tech that said they did carry it and asked what strengths. She confirmed they carried 3mg, 5mg, and 10mg. I said great I'm specifically looking for the 3mg, what is the cost? The technician responded it's an over the counter product, I said ok can you tell me the cost so I can let the client know, she hesitated and sounded confused and I was put on hold when the pharmacist suddenly picked up the line and said very snippety "it ranges from 10 dollars and up but we can't give you the price of all 30-40 products we carry" I immediately interrupted her and said "I wasn't asking for ALL 30-40 products I just needed the cost for the 3mg" she continued and I said thank you and hung up. With having 9 years of customer service experience it's frustrating to know that having a simple question answered by a "professional" that literally takes less than one minute to look up (my aunt works at a CVS I know) plus the fact that there are no "30-40" products of Melatonin 3MG and seeing as I was speaking to the pharmacist I would say that is a bit exaggerated, there are probably 3-4 different brands of the 3mg NOT "30-40", and to be rushed off the phone rudely is extremely unprofessional. read more
