I had no idea we had a huge Walgreens close by. I was on the hunt for Hershey's Chocolate Candy. I searched online and found them at this location. Well, I could not believe my eyes when it walked in the door. You could put 3 of my neighborhood Walgreens in this store. It was huge and although it took me a few minutes to figure out where everything was, I was blown away by all of the products in this store. So, they had more candy, junk food, cleaning products, vitamins, and other stuff. Thank you to Kathleen for helping me at checkout. She was very nice and helpful. Arrived at 8:10 and was told there was a printer jam. He came out the color of a beet-literally! Red! Messay (sp) the manager said this happens when the printer overheats! I'm like whaaaat? I moved all my prescriptions to this pharmacy and so far so good ...the pharmacy manager is helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Make sure to register and complete your information on the app to enable text notifications...I wasn't able to get mine until I did this (under the Rx section). The five stars is really for the general store manager who is amazing! She patiently waited while I downloaded the app, and then explained how the app worked (it's a bit complicated to set up but worth it!) She also spent time giving me tips about the store sales, difference between specific items, etc which I really appreciated. I don't think I've had anyone walk me through so many helpful things all at once without the slightest bit of impatience. I felt welcomed and safe here as a new customer... The parking lot is very spacious but the driveways into the lot are a bit narrow and easy to miss from Hungerford Road. Alas, I also found out that this Walgreens doesn't carry the sunscreen brand that I like...so although this is a fairly large store there are some items i.e. sunscreen that will have limited choices... read more

Walgreens Photo Department at Hungerford Drive- Rockville This dept is awful. I have had many prints done at the potomac location and never had an issue. I ordered 40 holiday cards with extra pre-printed addresses on the envelopes. When I picked it up and came home, I noticed that the addresses are on the back of the envelope instead of the front. I called and they asked me to come back and pick up new envelopes. I drove back again at night to pick up the envelopes and came home , as I'm inserting the holiday cards, I realized I was missing 14 cards. I called Walgreens again and this time upset as this location is 20 minutes away from my house and I have already driven there twice. When I called and spoke to the night manager, she said not blaming you, however you should have checked before you left. She repeatedly told me without any solution or advice. She was rude, combative and kept interrupting me as I was speaking. She agreed to give me a refund for the ones that I'm missing, laughable! I now have to drive there a third time tomorrow after hearing a 10 minute speech about their machines and how I should have checked first. This person has zero skills and should not be dealing with any customers much less being a manager. I'm very dissapointed in this and will make sure I let everyone know of the poor service I have received from her. read more

While at Walgreens I saw that they had my Argo organic tea that I like. So I knew I had to get some it's so refreshing. It's really low in grams of sugar that is great & it doesn't loose any flavor by being low sugar. Walgreens had them on sale so that was a win for me the two flavors that I purchased. Was the hibiscus sangria tea thats 3gm sugar & the green tea ginger twist that has 5gm of sugar. I pick my two up I noticed the package picture on the bottle has charged. I was kinda spektical if the taste is still the same & come to find out its still good. Argo is an organic tea company they have many different flavors like Carolina honey tea & hibiscus squeeze. Every visit I've had to pick up meds over the last year or so have been the worse experience I've had at a pharmacy. I've lived in the Rockville area for about 25 years and this is the absolute worse pharmacy I have ever dealt with. They NEVER answer the phone and worse yet, you'll be waiting 20mins and the phone hangs up. They never get back and not to mention they have an excuse EVERY single time. I've dealt with this pharmacy for a over a year due to the convenience of its location. Not always the best service at the pharmacy. One of the clerks is a clear communicator and pleasant. The other needs to find a new attitude. Rude and slow. Either retrain her or let her go. This pharmacy is horrible. Every time I went in there they screwed up my cats RX. Different prices quoted - I mean off by $100 or more for the same RX month to month. This review is for the pharmacy, which has been steadily declining ever since the pandemic. Initially, they had competent staff and fast service, but in the past two years their service has become terrible. There's always an issue when trying to fill a prescription and I can never get through to anyone at the pharmacy when I call. This is the worst Walgreens I have ever been to. Do not expect any sort of customer service here. I have been to this Walgreens twice, both times to pick up an online order. I had no issues the first time however I had an unpleasant experience the second time around. I recieved an e-mail that my online order was ready for store pickup. Followed the instructions to bring my photo ID and go directly to the photo counter to pick up my package. There was no one waiting in line at the photo counter and one employee working behind the counter. I asked her if I could pick up my order and she responded (loudly) with the nastiest attitude for absolutely no reason and told me to go to the back of the line while pointing to the front entrance checkout registers, where there was one person who was currently in checkout. If you don't want customers picking up online orders at the photo counter, don't put it in your email instructions and don't take out your frustrations on the customer. read more

Over 40 minute wait. Three people working the desk but only one person knew what they were doing . You could only check in by going through this long line . You could not add a vaccine to your vaccines you signed up for despite the person giving the vaccine having no one to give the vaccine to as most people only slowly picked up medication. read more

Be prepared to wait to receive your vaccination. I checked in 10 minutes before my appointment, and then waited 30 more minutes to actually get the shot. I was willing to wait because they have the Pfizer version, which is the one I wanted. The problem seems to be with the staff behind the counter, not the pharmacist. This is a fine Walgreens. Store is fine and staff is okay. But the pharmacy is often slow in filling scripts and doesn't always have refills in stock right away but they do notify when it's available. What is the most infuriating... is that ALL WALGREENS shut down their pharmacies from 1:30 to 2:00 pm every day. The rest of the store is open, but the most important part of Walgreens, the pharmacy, is closed. You have to remember this. Or go elsewhere. Perhaps Walgreens corp will change their policy. read more

This is our goto pharmacy. We have a couple prescriptions that aren't always easy to get, and this pharmacy always gets them for us within 24 hours and almost never is out of stock. It has made life so much easier. I drive 25 minutes to go to this pharmacy because of the consistency of prescription availability, as well as a pleasant and helpful staff. I was there one day and there was a customer in a wheelchair who was struggling getting their items. One of the staff went around the store with them getting their items, checked them out and helped them to their car. It's very rare that I give out one star reviews but hear me out per my friends visit. My friend was nice enough to run an errand and find a specific body wash for me. She had a difficult time locating the item so she asked for help and Caroline, the manager glanced at the picture and immediately said that the item was sold out (didn't bother to help or look for it). She asked another employee and he found the item with no problem. Needless to say the customer service here is terrible. When I got a hold of the body wash I noticed the expiration date was 05-17. I went back to the store and the manager for the evening was apologetic and looked at the other items on the shelf. ALL of them were expired! First of all, why were these expired products still out for sale? I got my refund and quickly left. I refuse to be back at this location! read more

The cashier (or manager) said they have worked for this type of store for many years and enjoys it. Horrible, incompetent staff. Came in to get Liquid IV. The Walgreens app said it stocked at the Hungerford location. I asked several staff members including a manager and NOT ONE took the time to show me where it was. After walking in circles for 15 minutes and growing frustrated, I went to the counter and a staff person says, "We don't have it the manager looked." Before I left, a gentleman came from the back and helped me. GUESS WHAT? They had it! Absolutely Terrible. First time ever going to Walgreens and it'll be my last. That lady named, Tricia, had god awful costumer service. So damn rude and she's gonna lie to us. We went in there to check out the place for the first time. We noticed that there was Arizona Green Tea on Sale for 2/$1. They occasionally have this at CVS and we would buy a couple of cases of them. Seeing that Walgreen also offered this deal, we decided to ask them for a couple of cases. We walked up to Tricia and asked her can we get a couple of cases of them. She then tells us "We only have about 6 or 7 CANS left". This is was odd because when we saw them in the fridge, there was WELL OVER 6 or 7 CANS. So we realized that she lied to us and she probably didn't want to sell us anything. We carefully looked at the sale tag and saw NO INDICATIONS OF A LIMIT. Then we decided to just take the cans from the fridge and buy it like that since she didn't want to sell us the cases. We bring it to the register, and then she says "You can only buy 4 cans." She tells us "I'll let it go this time, but next time you can only buy 4 cans." We then tell her that if that was the case, then they should really put it on the sale tag. And she starts to have an attitude saying "I don't have to put a sign or anything". We insist that they should still put a sign because we were thinking if you don't then more misunderstandings like this will come up. Then while we are paying she starts giving us DIRTY LOOKS. We tell her "Don't give us those looks. Don't look at us like that." and she tells us with a stank attitude "I can look at whoever i want like this." At this point we are outraged. That is NOT proper customer service. We begin to argue about how she lied to us and just doesn't want to sell us the Arizona. She proceeds to tell us to "NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN". Well obviously i don't plan on coming back here if their employees have such b*tchy attitudes. We ask to speak to a manager and she says "there is no manager here, you can call tomorrow morning". First of all, why is their NO manager in the store?? Kinda odd that the store can still open without a manager to handle these things. We ask her for her name. She says that we can talk to the manager about whatever we want. As we leave she WAVES IN OUR FACE AND SAYS "Goodbye." Now we just cannot believe this b*tch is really doing this. We tell her "Bye b*tch." and she once again tells us to never come back here. We later ask the other employee there about the manager, and says that apparently SHE is the manager for the night time or something. Can't believe they even hired people like this. We have reported her to Customer Service. They told me that her behavior is not tolerated and they will send in a report. Luckily the lady I spoke with wasn't a b*tch like Tricia. I also advise anybody who comes here for a vaccination to be ready to wait. For me, the wait was 90 minutes, and in the end, I didn't even get my vaccination done. My appt was scheduled for 1715, and as recommended by the online Walgreens scheduler, I actually arrived in the store at 1700. However, the first delay occurs in the check-in line -- there is a common/joint check-in line for both the pharmacy and immunization patients; as such, I could not even check-in until after 1720. From there, I was told to sit and wait ... I noticed 2 other people waiting, so I knew I wouldn't go until after them -- that went until after 1745. However, expecting to go next, I saw another patient (who'd arrived after me) go in at around 1800 ... I went back to the pharmacy desk and was told that I was next. But then, at around 1825, the next patient went in ... I went back to the desk again and they told me that they had misplaced my appt ... so at 1830 (90 minutes after my first arrival), I left the store, having wasted that time for nothing at all. read more

Imagine placing a drug prescription order at the Rockville Walgreens Pharmacy. Then imagine this store ran out of your drug, so instead, they used their poor judgment to substitute a different drug for you instead. And then later, after you've paid for it, and returned home to discover that your order was wrongly fulfilled, you call and the manager-on-duty essentially tells you that you'll have to be inconvenienced if you want your money back because they didn't do anything wrong for the customer. Because that was my experience in a nutshell tonight...but with the Rockville Walgreens Photo Department. I placed an online order for 4x6 reprints, and they decided that since they didn't have 4x6 paper in stock, that they'd just blow up my images to 5x7 (without even asking me if it was OK). Then, if I wanted the correct reprint order, then I'd actually have to return to this store later in the week if/when they ever get 4x6 paper...with my receipt, envelope with order number, and wrong 5x7 prints. Oh, and I'd also have to resubmit the whole order online because my order gets deleted from their system within 48 hours. I suggested that the store manager-on-duty (Tricia) contact Walgreens headquarters to credit back my $2.90 to my account so that I could get them reprinted at my local Los Angeles Walgreens (where I live, since I'm departing Rockville in 36 hours). But Tricia's response to me was "We have no way of reaching Walgreens headquarters to ask." If there was a way to give this store's customer service efforts "zero stars", then I would. Poor management, poor customer service. Visited this Walgreens for a quick makeup and pill pick run I had many questions in reference to menstrual pain pills (Pamprin vs Midol) and makeup selection. Kamara Kaoiatu was stocking the shelves and was quick to offer her assistance. She helped in the pain pill aisle and the makeup aisle. She also informed me of makeup sales of particular products which was extremely helpful! It is obvious that this employee takes GREAT pride in her work and has the qualities to one day be an exceptional store manager. Thank you Kamara Kaoiatu for taking the time to assist me. read more

This might be the nicest Walgreens I have ever been in. It's definitely catering to this areas demographic. There's fresh food and it looks pretty good! I forgot to check if the prices were reasonable. The staff wasn't terribly enthusiastic but I let that slide. They have a huge variety of things- I even bought a hands free ear piece so I don't get a ticket for talking on my phone come Oct 1 (stupid Nanny State)....they had everything from hello kitty duct tape to bao! It's 500% nicer inside than the other Walgreens in Potomac, and 200% nicer than the CVS next door. Good and easy parking too. You don't have to deal with the crappy RTC meters. I'm a fan!! read more

Giving them a one star rating is too generous and I am absolutely disgusted that I contribute several thousands of dollars per year to Walgreens to learn that of most recent, they decided to remove all of the African American beauty cosmetics from "select" stores. I experienced this when I was in Charlotte, NC, Knoxville, TN and again now while in Rockville, MD. This is utterly unacceptable and offensive as to why our dollars can only be spent on products they deem necessary and to certain consumers in certain neighborhoods. I'm traveling on business and always patronize Walgreens. I go out of my way to find one as I'm passing CVS and Rite Aid to only learn that my cosmetic needs and business is not necessary in certain areas. I spoke to the store manager who was very nice, apologetic and understanding and insisted that I call the customer care line to voice my concern....more like disdain. I asked him if there's a large percentage of African Americans in this community and he said that there was. My question, "Why aren't our products sold here?" He was unsure. He stated that he has no control over inventory of items that come and go and I believe that but you can voice a concern on behalf of your customers. I do have control over where my money is spent and I choose to support businesses that are conscientious of ALL people at all locations. There's always Walmart and Amazon. The pharmacy does a good job of asking for backup if the lane gets up to 3 people or more. They also have my prescriptions ready extremely fast. There is plenty of parking and it's never very busy. This Walgreens is clean, pretty well-organized, and populated by friendly staff. Evan, who works the register, makes pleasant small talk (and the occasional joke) to liven the old checkout ritual of dump your things, scan and pay. Flu shots at the pharmacy quick and easy! Actually, all my experiences with the pharmacy here (and the experiences of everyone else I know who have used this location) are fast, friendly, and professional. The signs make it relatively easy to find the section where what you're looking for should be, but occasionally the things are not organized as intuitively as I would like (spent 15 minutes searching for Benedryl once, which I prefer to attribute to causes other than my general cluelessness). read more

My doctor was supposed to fax over refills for my medications, but when I arrived at the Walgreen's pharmacy, the refill order did not arrive as expected. The darling pharmacist called my doctor's office and took the refills over the phone so I did not have to do without my medications. I went to pick up my orders( photos) around 11:30am at 12/29. I made the order at 12/28, and on the website shows I can pick it up after 11 am at 12/28. When I get there the cashier work in photo area is so rude. She refused to check my order. She said there is no order under my name, and then simply answer my order is not ready yet. So I ask her, when will it ready? She just walked away and saying she's the only one here today, she's so busy. read more

I hate to poo-poo this store when it's new with good customer service but my car was towed from the parking lot because I had went across the street first to drop something off at the UPS store. The signs warning against walk offs were not visible from the parking space and I was gone no more than 10 minutes. There was a sign posted at the entrance and I know I shouldn't feel entitled but the $100 towing fee seems too severe a penalty when there is ample parking in the lot. Sadly, would no longer patronize due to the strict parking enforcement. read more

I live in Rockville Town Center and this used to be my go-to place, but today they refused to honor a raincheck for a 2 for 1 sale item I bought from them two weeks ago. At that time, I bought the one, and they had no others in the store so they gave me a raincheck to come back for the free one. Showed up today and, although they had more of the item, and I had the raincheck receipt with me - made out with the date and itemized for that specific product - they would not honor it because they said I also needed the original purchase receipt. They treated me as if I had to prove I had made the original purchase (the itemized raincheck should have proven that, and on the day they said it was all I would need). It's really a shame because the item wasn't that expensive, but after this experience they've lost a loyal customer forever. Unfortunately they practice bait and switch advertising and do not make good on their own mistakes, but blame it on the customer. read more
