I did it! I caved and bought the Executive Membership at Costco! I like buying things in large quantities. But, the real reason is that you can go shopping at 9:30 am, before the large crowds start to arrive. Service was spectacular at this Costco. The people were so nice and showed me where everything was located. I was shopping at this Costco because the parking lot was being replaced at my old Costco. But, I liked this one so much, I may switch over. They have great values. I use a lot of paper plates at my house. I am not a fan of doing dishes and they were on sale. I got Sketchers socks and Keith Harrington lounge wear. Thank you Shelley for letting me know about the loungewear. My students studied Keith Harrington when I taught second grade. The Halloween decorations were out in full swing. I saw giant skeletons, cute Mickie Mouse decorations, and adorable Halloween themed pillows. So, parking was good! Great service and good sale prices, a clear choice for future shopping adventures at this Costco. Thank you, Wheaton Costco!

Here's a picture that is perfectly indicative of this Costco's produce section in a nutshell. Last time I was there, there was a foul, vinegary smell coming from the banana area. I shudder to think what was rotting back there. And every single last package of leafy greens was two days away from expiry. One wonders when they'll hire a competent produce manager.

Here are some of the items that I ordered.

For me, delivery through Uber Eats was a valuable service because it is a timesaver and prevents overspending. In the warehouse, I will always manage to find something as I browse the aisles of Costco that I don't need. The driver was professional and personable, and all of my items were in stock.

First time at this Costco and for a Sunday afternoon, it was chaos! Parking here was a mess. Entering the address takes you to a shopping mall where the Costco is located and my first attempt to park was in the garage. The traffic and dodging other shoppers pushing their carts throughout the garage was a mess. I finally left the garage to the outdoor parking area, which was a little better but not by much. To get in to the Costco, you essentially enter in to a mall. Once inside, it was the usual of what you will find at any Costco. There are a lot of shoppers, going in all directions, moving at various paces, distracted with their phones...makes an eventful and stressful experience. I came, I saw, and I learned...to never come back here on a weekend. Enjoy!

    Such a steal!

Does Costco sell cupcakes? I know they sell cakes but can't recall if I ever seen cupcakes. If you know how much too, that would be helpful. Thanks!

You can order cupcakes at the bakery. They are huge and delicious and I want to say they are around $20 for a tray of cupcakes.

What credit cards do they take"?

    Costco only takes Visa.

I've only seen the area from the highways that are tree lined. I am quite amazed by how out of touch I was for this area. This mall is quite expansive. The one thing I love about the DMV area is that the malls are still thriving. Not to the point where every single store is filled, but no where near dead mall territory. I had some time to kill before I had to head back home and wanting to pick up some items. Parking here had me. I wasn't sure where would be the best place to park. I ended up in the outdoor lots and didn't even want to mess with the parking structure. As a note, early here means you will encounter a slew of parents with their children in tow. Be careful and mindful in the parking lot as they will be everywhere. The mall had a bit of everything in here. The typical anchors and national chains you would expect to find in a mall. Food court area was jammed with eateries and customers. I opted to not eat here. Would definitely come back. Especially on a lazy day. Good people watching, enough stores to grab whatever you might be thinking of getting, and ample parking.

I can't believe I haven't written a review for this mall after so many years! The food court is always packed with people with many different choices. The restaurants available inside the mall is always interesting. I saw a new Thai takeaway place downstairs near where Claire's used to be. The selections of the store keeps evolving. I had no idea Lululemon moved and has a bigger store now. It's hard to believe that the malls in America are dying when you see how crazy busy it is at the Mall. I couldn't find parking until I parked closer to the old Sears lot. And that was during a weekday well after Christmas and New Year's too. My nickname at work used to be the Mall Rat Haha! I can't wait to discover what new stores are coming and going the next time I return.

They've got all the staples: JCPenneys, Costco, Macy's, Target, H&M, plus smaller stores like Five Below and Bed, Bath and Beyond. The food court is huge and continues to grow, with some older spots being replaced by newer options. I was first introduced to this mall in a pretty unconventional way--at a dance event hosted by Urban Dance Artistry. The space was large enough to host a big crowd and still allow for smaller performance pockets, which showed me how versatile the mall space actually is. As far as cleanliness goes, the mall itself is generally clean and bustling with a very diverse crowd, which I love to see. The only downside? The bathrooms could definitely use some attention. They can be messy and not the freshest-smelling at times. Although I do really like that they have a separate area for kids to wash their hands. I'm not much of a mall shopper these days, and a lot of the stores aren't necessarily places I'd go out of my way for. But as a parent? This place is gold. My son absolutely loves the play area. There's also a paid bounce house spot near it (which he thoroughly enjoyed), and they have the indoor train that rides through the mall--which is basically a core childhood memory waiting to happen. It's also a great spot for teens to meet up at. I love that they have a little photo booth to print out 4 pictures on a strip, very nostalgic vibes. It's also super convenient. The Wheaton train station is right there, but it's also a hub for a lot of buses, making public transit access incredibly easy. On top of that, you've got nearby restaurants, Party City, a grocery store, and plenty of other essentials within walking distance. There's even a CVS Pharmacy nearby. Overall, it's a solid, practical, family-friendly mall. Not luxury, not glamorous--but convenient, affordable, and full of things to do--especially if you have kids. Four stars from me.

Transports you instantly to Shanghai. This large store has all manner of Asian, primarily Chinese works of art, folk art, and furniture. The owner Amy, is a delight. Luban Auction Gallery, owned and managed by Amy Guo, may have the largest and most varied storehouse of Asian, primarily Chinese antiques in the Washington area. That at least has been our experience. We found Luban and Amy by chance in 2018. We had been looking for a significant Buddha image for an honored place under a Bodhi tree in our garden. We searched dozens of places, from upscale garden shops to the Smithsonian, with no success (at any price point) until we happened on Luban in an on-line search. When we reached Rockville and entered the warehouse we were transported to Asia - we found a wonderland of antique furniture, porcelain, bronzes, jade, textiles and more. We also found many Buddhist inspired stone pieces appropriate for gardens. Not only were the works exquisite; Amy offered us extremely attractive pricing and was able to have this very heavy piece delivered to our house! A year later, we returned to pick up two additional pieces for the garden - a carved stone "100 Buddha" pillar, and a pagoda temple. Nowhere else have we found such pieces. In home furnishings Luban has an extraordinary selection of furniture and magnificent porcelain pieces, including lamps. Luban also has some stunning European and American sets of china and porcelain. Amy Guo is very generous in sharing her expertise and time. I could go on. But anyone in the Washington area who is interested in Asian antiques, art, folk art and decorative art needs to visit Luban.
