One of my 20' XLR microphone cables failed while I was doing a remote recording session...scratches and crackling from a short circuit. I brought the cable to Elman for repair. He found the problem and fixed it. The "extra mile" was his applying heat shrink to the soldered leads which has two benefits: - stabilizes the leads against strain, and, should they get pulled again, prevents them from touching and should prevent electrical short circuiting. To make matters worse, nobody informed me upfront that the replacement battery would not be a genuine Apple battery. This information was only buried in the fine-print disclaimer, which was not easy to notice or understand. The staff should clearly explain to customers before starting any work that an Apple battery will not be used and make sure the customer agrees. Damaging my phone during a battery replacement and failing to clearly disclose the use of non-Apple parts is completely unacceptable. Very disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this service.
