I had a really great experience at this Walgreens thanks to the manager working during my visit. She was incredibly kind, patient, and went out of her way to help me from start to finish -- from assisting with my pickup order to personally ringing me up at the front. What really stood out was how attentive and involved she was. Even while helping me, she checked in with her staff to make sure they were supported and didn't need additional help. They have a pharmacy, photo services, passport photos, and all your household, wine and snack foods, as well as your toiletry items . They also, have an extensive holiday decor. Their staff is friendly and helpful. I have their app and have an account associated with my cell number. The Walgreens app has deals and discounts and if you need to make a return and use your number during the initial transaction they can look up the receipt and give you a full refund for your return product. My experience of getting the first does of the Meningococcal B vaccine here was excellent. The first time, the pharmacist--a young lady--was very nice and thorough. As someone with allergies to foods(peanuts and seafood), the system obviously gave a general warning due to that. She did not know whether there was something wrong, which is fair, and let us know honestly to reschedule. The second appointment went well, nothing to say there. Overall, you can do worse than Pleasanton's Walgreens. Very fast, kind, and informative. If you need a vaccine or something requiring the pharmacy here, don't be scared. Maybe my customer service is rare for this location, but they're very smooth and stress-free. The only reason I won't be scheduling any more appointments is simply because I don't live there. Blown away with the wine selection and prices. One parking spot up front for vehicle charging. While I was there grabbed a few other things. Wine selection is unreal. I'm not sure why they carry so much and then discount it because they have too much or don't want to carry that item anymore. My wine selections at home were dwindling and it was good to restock. 19 Crimes - sometimes has Martha Steward there on the label, Yellowtail, mescatos and watermelon flavors - almost anything you would want for deep, deep discounts. Grabbed some sparkling water spritzer of the 'nice' brand variety. Nice is good. Nice is great. Nice is better than mean. At 2.49 for an 8 pack thats great. One pack was lime flavor and the other was grapefruit flavored - both unsweetened, I'm not sure how they do it. I'm not sure I want to know how they do it. In Germany people drink these kind of spritzers all the time. Usually people don't drink flat, plain water. Got some Scott paper towels. They looked really strong and had a bunch of ripples in the sheets. Looked good for heavy duty cleaning. I love these old junky cars that people neglect - I rescue them and clean them - roll back the age on them and then send them off into the world again once I do what I can with them. My OG tdi ALH - needs some extra scrubbing power. PO was a surfer and a firefighter and don't think he was into cleaning much. I'm trying to get 25 years worth of filth out. These towels for 3.70 will help. Noticed some books. Picked up the one "California's deadliest earthquakes." I was curious if the last one on the Hayward fault was somehow recorded in the book. I would have bought the book for a picture of two. Too bad it was included. The last one was October 21, 1868 and the next one is due. I'm always thinking of this. Sometimes I think I would be better off if I wasn't thinking of this. See, the thing is back in 1860's there were no people living in Hayward at the time - so therefore people don't think its a danger. This pharmacy is a complete joke. The people working there are absolutely incompetent. I get a prescription every month which needs to be filled in 7 days and it's the same issues....every single time. They don't put the order in, they don't have the prescription and I'm arguing with them to get it right. Today I have to get my prescription transferred to San Ramon and drive there to get it so the 7 days does not run out. 50 minutes round trip. Do better! read more

Always closing early and opening late. I arrived at 2 when their lunch break was supposed to end, but they didn't open until around 2:15. They usually don't have my meds refilled by the time they give me over the phone when I call to refill them. Very disappointing compared to Rite Aid. read more

If I could give them 0/5 believe me, I would. Poorly run pharmacy. I had a prescription transferred here it honestly, they suck. The person over the phone asked me to repeat my name at least 5 times, told me they couldn't find my prescription, only to find that they were spelling my name wrong. Ok fine, moving on. I was told it would be ready within the hour. Arrived 2 hours later to give them grace, because why not? Not even the extra hour helped them. I showed up and the lady was running around frantically talking about she had to make sure they have it. Excuse me? You all confirmed over the phone you had it, that's the whole reason I'm here. So why has this turned into rocket science? She ran around for nearly 10 minutes then finally returns to tell me it's going to be a few minutes. I ask her to clarify "few", considering it literally means 3. She said they're short staffed so like 5-10 minutes. Well ma'am, if you were short staffed maybe you should be originally quoting people longer time periods rather than giving me the normal turn around and failing to deliver. So if I showed up an after after talking to y'all, would I be waiting 5-10 or would I be waiting an hour and 5-10? She tells me I'll get a text when it's ready. 15 minutes later, nothing. So I go back. The lady that helped me this time said "yes it's ready!" ... I suppose I'm supposed to be thrilled but it actually pissed me off because where is this alleged text message? Seriously, do better. Find a better strategy for when you're down bad on staffing. People don't have endless amounts of time to be waiting around. If you can help it, don't come here. It's better to drive 15-20 minutes for a better pharmacy than to pray for an miracle here. read more

Go to CVS. Avoid coming here. Their lines are awful. I waited over 1 HOUR before closing for a flu shot that should've taken under 5 minutes if you include checking in. CVS never has this issue however my work requires i go to Walgreens because those are the vouchers they give. Thankfully they pay me 4 hours of pay to get it done for the painful 1 hour it takes waiting to actually get it done. They even tried to tell a woman on my visit both her and her doctor provided her wrong birthdate so they gave her the run around about 1/3 of her prescriptions. Poor staff. read more

Warning!!!! Do not use this pharmacy.. save your time and money! This place is absolutely horrible. I should have known by reading the reviews but was in desperate need of a pharmacy while I was out of town. The Walgreens I use at my home town is nothing like this one. My doctor called in my prescription late last night and it wasn't ready until the afternoon today. I went to pick it up, only to be told my the woman at the counter that she couldn't locate my account. I gave her my address, phone number and date of birth. Nothing!! I showed her my insurance card and she told me that didn't work either and apparently she created a new account and told me my prescription was $500 because she couldn't accept the card I had. I only have one insurance card!!! She refused to take it. I kept telling her that's all I had and have ever had to provide. She was RUDE and told me she knew how to do her job. I asked her to call my Walgreens and she refused! I had to call my pharmacy myself and was told they should have my record on file and have them do a central search. Why do I have to call my pharmacy and do their job?!! Eventually the woman helping me gave up trying to help me and another woman came for help. And to help. I provided her with the SAME inform I provided the other woman and she was able to locate my information. What a waste of my time and energy, energy that I don't have because I haven't been feeling well. It was such a horrible experience that o also took the time to call their corporate office and file a complaint. Apparently I should be receiving a call from upper management in the next 2 days. Pharmacy is terrible. No people skills whatsoever. They tried to charge me for a workers comp prescription. In the past I was only required to give my claim number, but now they are requiring an insurance card from workers comp. I don't have that. I said CVS does not require this. The manager said, "Sorry we aren't CVS." I came back the next day, with the same information, and received my prescription with no issues. A lot of problems here. Low staff creates long lines. Walgreens doesn't seem to have figured out how to care about the planet and reduce packaging yet. I ordered 2 items at the same time (in 1 order) from their website to ship to store and each item came in a different box, which added to the confusion when I went to pick it up in store and I told the staff I had 1 order but 2 items. There was a bit of a communication issue with her in getting the 2 boxes. After getting my boxes, I then waited 20 minutes for them to figure out how to check out my 2 items in their computer system and give me a receipt. In the end, they gave up and told me it's fine and to just go...without a receipt. They also never sent me a confirmation email saying my items are now available at the store for pick-up even though it's been 3 days since USPS has said the package is already there. Desmond, the manager of photos absolutely hates his job and people. He refuses to give me my Christmas cards with my family after he had printed them a week ago and I hated the backround. I returned them & ordered new ones and have to do a copyright from the photographer all of sudden?? I've been back there 6 times now because they NEVER, EVER answer the phone and no one ever knows what's going on... I sent the copyright to the right email yet the manager says he hasn't received it?? He's being an asshole just to be one. The wait time is never less than 30 minutes and they don't ever have the prescriptions I need on hand or even ready. They are very quick to turn you away and say sorry we just can't help you... The pharmacy techs are unprofessional and rude. Today my son had his wisdom teeth out and the doctor called in a prescription for ibuprofen and one for pain. I went to the window and they told me that neither prescription was ready but that I could sit and wait 15 minutes. This is the worst Walgreens I have ever been to. My prescription was sent over 2 hours ago and it still was not ready. The woman at the front told me it would take 20 more minutes, so I went to get a drink and came back 20 minutes later. The line was super long and it was not moving. Some kid wouldn't stop coughing in line. He coughed absolutely just out into the open space where everyone was near. Did not even cover his mouth once. Coughed about 100 times. I am wearing my mask because Covid ruined my life . That is the reason I am in line getting medication. I have rashes all over my face, arms, neck, chest, and body. I have a serious illness involving my skin for over a year because of Covid. The line was long and it was really hot. I started to sweat and my face got even more itchy. I was in so much pain. I was in pain for probably 25 minutes . Then when I got to the window, she said it would take a few more minutes. Are you serious? I was literally about to faint from the heat and inflammation. I called Walgreens to put in a perscription and they put me on the hold cycle for well over 30 minutes until I had to hang up. I called the general store Walgreens number to see if maybe I had the wrong contact information and they were very rude. The store lead shared "I'm not in charge of the pharmacy so theirs nothing I can do." I completely understand our Pharmacist are over worked and strechted, but I've never been completely ignored. I arrived on Monday around1:30 PM and waited in line for over 30 minutes. While waiting, I observed the clerk refilling the shelves. Rather than bringing the cart over to the shelf, she walked back and forth between the shelves and the cart. Real efficient. By the time I got to the Pharmacy window at 2:00 PM. the clerk informed me that they would need another 10 minutes to fill the prescription. I spoke with the store manager and she was unconcerned. I was helped by Yaniah. I saw Walgreens was doing a promo for printed pictures. After I went through and selected all 200 pictures the discount code wasn't working. Because the ad said it couldn't apply in store I called. Yaniah was so very helpful, she went above and beyond and honored the coupon. I also appreciated that she looked for the coupon before validating it. I really appreciate the level of customer support she provided. Is being slow requirement for being hired? I hate you in there because I have to stand in line forever with the people "working" move in slow motion. All I have used for of this place anymore is to pick up pictures, it always takes way too long, and I am going to start going somewhere else as of now. They always wanna argue with me and tell me my name is not my name, and ask for an order number and my phone number and want to argue further with me. I would just go look under the alphabetized boxes where they're at . It's obvious these people do not care about their jobs are customer service, it's ridiculous. Unfortunately I must agree with the majority of the reviews for this Walgreens. As I'm thinking as I type this; Pleasanton Walgreens is bad all the way around. All employees starting from the managers are rude. A few years ago, the older Asian male manager literally yelled at me in the photo department for something very miniscule. It was something about their machines being down. I was shocked because I normally wait days..ahem, sometimes a week or two before I pick up my pictures. I called corporate a couple of days later because they were closed when I called from the parking lot. I got nowhere. I stayed away for awhile and have been here maybe three times after that incident. It was bad every single time. I have heard the supervisors/assistant managers speak very rudely to customers. How they "get away" with this bad behavior year after year stumps me. Honestly, they should just close this Walgreens and open one on the Pleasanton/Dublin border. There. I said it. Their prices seem to be more than other Walgreens which is very strange. You would think they would be similar in prices. They definitely are not which is very odd. read more

I honestly couldn't wait to get on here to warn my fellow yelpers. I am still in shock. I went to Walgreens, Pleasanton, to get some passport photos. A man and 2 employees were at the counter working on a project of some sort. The man ignored me- one of the ladies smiled and realized I had been waiting, so called someone from the back to help me. (The man apparently couldn't be bothered.) Next, I got the passport photos taken, quick, good. Then I saw 70% off Halloween items. I put a bunch of fun stuff into my basket. There were huge printed signed that read "70% OFF ALL HALLOWEEN" and the entire row was full of signs like this. Candy, face makeup, decorations, hair color, spiders, etc. I put about 6 items into my basket. I get to checkout and the purple hair spray came up 70% but the other color (It was reddish, I think) did not. They were both on this Halloween aisle and both next to the sign labeled 70% off... The checker said she couldn't give me the discount for one, but yes for the other because of the way it scanned. She agreed it was strange, so she asked her manager. He would NOT scan in the 70% off for the reddish color. I kindly pointed out that it was the same brand, size and in the sale row with the label 70% off, so it was an obvious error. She agreed, but said her "manager" said not to discount it. I waited 30 seconds, took a deep breath then asked for the manager to meet me in the Halloween discount aisle. Not only did he refuse to look me in the eyes, he went and pulled down the signs saying 70% off. Another employee took me aside and said she agreed with me and would give me the discount, and yes, he was her boss. While I was in line (again) the manager was heard behind me and took items off of the 70% off shelf. In all my years of Yelping, I've never witnessed anything like this. I placed an online order for 1 hour delivery to avoid going out in public spreading my sick germs. I received confirmation of accepting delivery. 30 mins later I receive delay notification. Ok, no problem. 2 hours later nothing. Couldn't reach anyone at the store to figure out what was going on or if my order was even coming. Store closure time and still nothing. Called customer service line (not the store) who also tried multiple times to reach someone at the store with no luck. She deserves 10 stars for dealing with my sick frustrated self. She helped me cancel the order. Made the mistake of trying to order again this morning ... because I need a few items that only seem to be available here...and low and behold, same issue. Exactly 30 minutes from placing order - i receive a delay notice. No one answers the phone etc. Ended up having to pay mark up prices and delivery fees through instacart to get the exact same items which will arrive in 1 hour. VERY unhappy customer. If the store is unable to deliver, DISABLE the ordering option... I have ordered delivery from other walgreens stores without issue... avoid this store and save yourself the headache. read more

Pharmacy staff we're wearing masks. Went in today to receive a prescription that I really needed and stood 45min in line to only get to the front for one of them women behind the counter to tell me it needs to be resubmitted and it could take up to 3-4 hours. Meanwhile, I am suffering from a severe ear infection and in tears for help. She said their was nothing they can do and would give me a call when my prescription was ready, 3 hours later, come to find out 5min before they closed the pharmacy, that it was ready for pick up they just never called me. I'm still suffering from the infection and now I will not be able to take care of it until the next day. WORST customer service ever. People are in pain... waiting for their prescription to relieve the pain and these people have no empathy towards the situation. Put yourself in our situations people. Show some respect. read more

Let me give you an example of my experience that sums them up quite well. They post signs saying that they go to lunch on Saturdays until 2pm. I arrived at 2:13 and still no one behind the counter was there, but of course there was a line already. No one showed up until 2:20pm, and when they finally did there were no explanations or apologies for wasting our time. If you look at the photos you can see the sign with the hours, and that the windows were covered by a roll-up door as well as the clock saying it was well past 2pm. There is always a line there, and if you pay for express service you can get it but they never, ever seem to have two people at the windows so you have to explain to all the folks waiting in the regular line why you are cutting in front of them. Dont GO in this Walgreen Pharmacy location -- they will make you pay lots of Money for incompetence of their pharmacist and staff and the Store Manager will just ignore you and instead blame you and your insurance. In the past 2 months I only paid $25 for my prescription each time and today I need to pay $750 for the same prescription. I ASK them what is the reason - they said because of insurance. I dont get it - in past 2 months only $25 and today $750 and because of my insurance ?
