I went to Diablo Pharmacy this evening for the first time to pick up a prescription that was unavailable at our usual Safeway Pharmacy. Upon arrival, the Pharm Tech informed me that I would need to wait 15-20 mins as PJ, the Pharmacist / Business owner was out doing a delivery. PJ raced into the store in leggings and a t- shirt and started to cause havoc out back. He initially helped the lady ahead of me and then when it came to my turn started to yell at me stating that I needed to call my son's physician to transfer the prescription to their Pharmacy. After about 10 mins of diligence on my end, confirming that the prescription had been in fact sent to PJ's Diablo Pharmacy he started to yell and get aggresive toward me. Threatening to leave the store without filling my son's prescription if I did not call his Dr.'s office. I started to pull out my phone to share that the prescription had in fact been sent to Diablo, when additional threats / insults were hurled my way! At this point, I looked up at PJ's wife (a pleasant lady who was also at the store), and she started to make amends and apologize for her husband's atrocious display! "He's had a long day" she suggested, before PJ continued with his aggressive / barraging remarks. Save yourself the time and rude customer service. Go to a real Pharmacy! read more

Don't listen to any negative reviews about this place or the owner. I've never seen a pharmacist work so hard to take care of their customers. It's a one man shop, so act accordingly. If you need to pick something up, be sure to call ahead of time to make sure he's there and available. PJ is a real guy, he doesn't put up with nonsense. We (spouse and I) never had a need for a compounding pharmacy before as we have our typical prescriptions automatically refilled via another company. However, when our family need one-off prescriptions filled (after urgent care visits, etc.), we tend to go to either CVS/Walgreens and the likes. Yesterday evening, after a Pediatric Urgent Care visit for our kiddo, we were given a prescription that was sent to CVS inside Target. They then told us they can't fill it and we need to go to a main store like CVS/Walgreens that is a standalone brick and mortar store (meaning not inside another store). After calling several nearby CVS/Walgreens standalone stores, no one can fill the prescription. Finally, someone mentioned to us that we need a "compounding pharmacy". We Yelped for a compounding pharmacy and called Diablo Pharmacy, which was still open. Unfortunately, Diablo Pharmacy had one of the main ingredients listed in the prescription in powder form, which isn't the liquid form called out in the prescription (that's a no go for us since the Urgent Care physician confirmed the powder form wouldn't be as effective). Although we didn't fill our kiddo's prescription with this pharmacy due to one ingredient needed that wasn't an exact match as the one prescribed, we felt that this business deserves the five star rating. They were great to work with and for that, we're grateful for. read more

Unfortuneatly, I will not be returning. I say "Unfortunately", as I have been there before and got good service. However, one time a while ago, just as I got there, he ran out the door to go chat with someone. Minutes later he finally returns, saying he hadn't seen that person for a while and needed to chat with her. I'm left thinking "uh, wow, really. So chatting with a friend is more important than taking care of a customer?" What happened today though made it the last straw! Just as I got there, he was walking out the door to go chat with a couple guys. He held the door open for me, so obviously he knew I was now a customer. I stood there in the shop watching him chat with two guys outside that were apparently delivery guys for the pharmacy. I waited a full 2 minutes, at which time I figured enough is enough, and I walked out. He said something to me and I just waved at him and kept walking. I mean, what a joke! it's like chatting with a couple of guys is more important than taking care of a customer! Apparently, HIS time is way more important than MY time! I brought my non verbal autistic son to a doctors appointment on 7/16. After we were done, he wanted to go into the little pharmacy near the front of the building. He found some candy ( the cheap giveaway kind for kids) on the side of the counter and proceeded to grab the two containers. The woman working there didn't seem to mind. Admittedly he was taking a lot but it was hard to stop him. In time I would have got most of it back but i never got the chance. Just then, this man comes out from the back and proceeds to yank the candy containers away from my son. He seemed very angry about what he was doing and was absolutely terrible to deal with. I have NEVER dealt with someone like this before. You DON'T JUST GRAB things from a person like my son, he doesn't understand, and it could cause other issues. In 34 years nobody has been as outwardly annoyed and angry at my son like this man was. If you have a special needs child - do not take them into this pharmacy. It is a hostile environment. This guy should be ashamed of himself. You would have thought I had a weapon and was robbing him. SMDH. read more

We were recommended by our pediatrician and he is really amazing when it comes to working his 'magic' so you don't pay those crazy prices on prescriptions even when the insurance companies may want to screw you over. He was able to get our prescription down to $100 less than what CVS or Walgreens was going to charge with a discount and now with COVID he was able to get us a special coupon to cut down our prescription down to double digit cost vs. triple digit costs! He is direct, informative and always willing to help or give advice. Some people (based on the reviews here) may need fluff, sunshine and glitter but he's straight to business and is a really nice guy...no fluff! Different strokes for different folks. For our family personally, he's been super helpful! This is a small pharmacy owned by the pharmacist himself, P.J. He will go the extra mile to help you out! I was visiting from out of the area and had forgotten my meds at home. This whole thing played out like a fairy tale for me. Bear with my storytelling as it is a happy ending. My family & I moved to San Ramon a month ago. I have depended on my neighborhood CVS / Longs for over 10 years with only the occasional issue maybe once or twice every year or so. Well, after establishing a physician's care here and obtaining my needed monthly scripts, I then naturally deferred to the closest CVS as my pharmacy of choice. CVS Diablo Shopping Ctr. on San Ramon Valley Blvd to be exact. Well, they had only a portion of my meds, the one not available was a critical one. They said if they ordered it that day they could have it in 2 days. Hm. Sorry, that's a terrible option. I asked her what other options do I have? Could she call another location? She obliged. Fast forward to me driving AWAY from CVS DANVILLE without the medication because they did not have the generic less costly version, but they DID have the brand version which would have cost only $500. Danville WAS kind enough to call their OTHER Danville store on Camino Tassajahara to see if they had what I needed but they too were out. They were EXPECTING a delivery the next day but could not guarantee it. OK CVS. Three strikes and YOU'RE OUT (in more ways than 1)! I'll give credit to the ladies that helped me as they did seem willing to be of some help but it was one of those "out of their control" scenarios so unless they were outright rude or unhelpful with me there was really no issue with their customer service. Side Note: I have to divulge that while waiting in line at BOTH CVS stores I overheard comments from other customers about their disgruntled opinions of CVS. Long waits, Understaffed, Incompetent Pharmacist (I over heard this, this does not reflect my CVS experience), Always out of what I need. GEEZ!! Get me out of here! After 10 years of loyal personal investment, I said goodbye to CVS. The inventory issue is a big one. You don't mess around with people's meds without having to pay a consequence. Whether it's an issue of poor inventory /ordering techniques at the store level or a bigger corporate issue, I'm not hanging around to find out. It gets better/worse. I then decide to try Rite Aid (the one in Crow Canyon Place with the Ice Cream counter). Surprise! THEY didn't have it EITHER! So now I'm starting to feel like I'M the unreasonable one because I have this unique Script request! NOT!! The clerk said that I was like the SIXTH person that day that needed something they were out of. OOPS! I can't believe she said it out loud let alone to my face. She ALSO said they could have it in 2 days. Nope. I'm done with Rite Aid Pharmacy now as well. I should really call it NO Aid Pharmacy. They DO have awesome ice cream though so my trip was not a total bust. This was all on a Wednesday. Next day I decide to try this place (Diablo) as I noticed there were no reviews or ratings so I assumed it was relatively new and worth a shot. It was also on the way home from my kids' school so also very convenient. (this is the Fairy Godmother part of the story) It is important to mention that this store is in the Bishop Medical Offices Park on the ground level of the 2301 building. Truly a hidden gem. From what I understand is effective signage is an obstacle for the business as they are not allowed much. Strict guidelines as per property management which is understandable for a medical community. I walk in and am IMMEDIATELY greeted by Operator/Owner/Pharmacist P.J. Jahan. Mr. Jahan was friendly, extremely informative, and helpful. Not only that, they HAD what I needed in stock. I was immediately put into the system and he generated my prescription in less than 10 minutes. Faster than any Big Name Pharmacy and charged the minimum Co pay for script. The business is only 7 or 8 months old so they are still settling in to some degree. I leave this LONG review in hopes that others will see the importance in supporting our local independent pharmacists vs. Giving your hard earned dollar to the Corporate Super Massive Black Hole. I will be leaving my Yelp feedback for CVS and RITE AID on the flip side. I will also be using Diablo Pharmacy & Wellness from now on. Thank You Diablo Pharmacy and it's Owner Mr. Jahan! I found Diablo Pharmacy online years ago after the apathetic and utterly indifferent treatment I received from the major chains. THE BEST service I have ever received! This was our first time to go to this pharmacy to pick up two prescriptions for our son. One was ready right away, but one we had to wait for. We told them we needed to go to another appt, but we would pick it up the next day. The pharmacist said they would deliver it to us later. We live in Livermore, he said no problem. I was shocked that he really did deliver it to our home 2 hours later! Plus we owed $6.50 and he said do not worry about it. To pay it the next time we were in.
