I have tried the EARGO product which worked well for about a year, but after numerous failures made them unreliable and the warranty was only good for a year. I then went w/o any hearing aids for a year which was terrible for me in restaurants & yes one on one conversations. I heard about Connect Hearing. I contacted them and spoke to Heather Porter. Making an appointment was a pleasure and easy. Heather has a friendly demeanor which made arrangements easy and set the tone that I was going to deal with professionals. This opinion was reinforced in person. Doug Kuenning, Hearing Aid Specialist, gave me a very thorough hearing test which confirmed what I already knew from previous tests. My hearing was bad in the speech range and it wasn't getting better over the years. Doug asked me specific questions about my hearing history and checked the inside of my ear. Doug went over the hearing test with me explaining why I was having trouble in various situations. Doug is a serious and meticulous hearing profeswhen it comes to discussing hearing loss and as he wears them too. His knowledge is pretty amazing and you are put at ease when he speaks. He enjoys probing his clients to get us to explain our hearing experience. FYI I was having trouble especially in crowded rooms or even hearing my grandson in the back of my car. Sometimes I had to pull over to turn around and talk to him. After some additional conversations Doug recommended a behind the ear (BTE) device. I am a bit vain but Doug reviewed the device and showed me how well it is hidden (he had a mirror) so I was offered a free trial for a week which turned out to be a bit longer but this was no issue and no obligation. He explained how this specific model would apply to my hearing problems. Well I went on vacation and returned to Connect Hearing after 10 days. Doug's recommendation made my vacation in the mountains significant better. I could hear my wife during the airline trip, hearing the waiter/waitress in restaurants was easy, I could hear birds & streams on our hikes and most importantly I can hear my grandkids speak in the car. I will wrap this review up thanking Doug for his expertise and Heather for her hospitality. I now own my aids for about 3 months and I am thrilled and my family is too. I have returned to Doug twice more and as hearing adjustments should be made over a period of time as my experience allows Doug to make very small computer adjustments to provide me with the best hearing. One question remains, why didn't I work with Connect Hearing years ago? Thank you Doug, Heather & Connect Hearing. I love my new life. The other service gave us Aimee's phone number, and it was amazing. Aimee understood immediately what we needed, and offered to visit us right away, in less than an hour she was there. I was a bit concerned, after all, 3 gay men dealing with to Catholic ladies... I had no reason to be concerned at all. Aimee was not just professional, but caring and understanding, and we got a caregiver who was also a gay man, so my friend felt more at ease. The team made by Pablito, Ninfa and Rosemarie was very professional, always on time and made our friend's life much easier. They became like family, gave him professional care, allowed us to have more time for ourselves and rest knowing our friend's needs were being take care of. Our friend died recently, leaving a huge hole in our lives, we miss him, and we are sad, but we are also happy and in peace because with Kindred at Home, he had professional care, he had lovely , kind people helping him, every day. He became stronger, he gained weight and was healthier, before he died. After a fall from my hoyer lift, I reached out to Lift and Transfer to schedule an inspection for…read moreApril of 2025. The owner of the company, Craig Coogan, came to my apartment late and smelled strongly of alcohol. He was visibly under the influence. My caregiver was going to be off her shift, and I let him know. He aggressively insisted that she put me in the sling, because I weigh 130lbs and that should not have happened. I told him that my next caregiver was on her way to my apartment. He insisted that I should get in my hoyer lift again. While we were waiting for my next caregiver to arrive, he stated that he works with everyone in the Bay Area for Lift and Transfer and has been doing this for 28 years, and then said for 25 years a few minutes later. My next caregiver came in, and I was put in the hoyer lift and raised up as high as I could go. There was nothing underneath me, and my caregiver stated that she wanted me to be in my wheelchair while we discussed options. Craig declined, said I was safe, grabbed the sling, pulled it hard, and shook it back and forth. As a reminder, I had fallen out of the sling because one of the straps came off the hook. He then put his hand on my upper leg close to my vulva and my shoulder without asking for consent. He left it there for roughly 3 minutes. As a disabled woman who cannot physically defend herself, this caused alarm because there was no reason to touch me. Also, because he seemed drunk, I couldn't predict what he was going to do. He would ask my caregiver to adjust the sling and then proceed to do it himself in a rough manner without asking for my consent. He was aggressive when telling my caregiver she was doing it wrong when she stated that she did manual transfers. She stated that we preferred it that way with her, because she can pick me up. If he had come at his scheduled time, then my previous caregiver, who uses the hoyer lift would be able to show him how she uses it. He would not offer different solutions for how my caregiver could transfer me. It got to a point where they got into a verbal argument, and I had to raise my voice at him to tell him that he is not here to discuss this. I was then put back in my wheelchair. My caregiver stated she has another client with a different hoyer lift that might be a better solution. He kept pushing her to tell her who it was because he had been working with everyone for 25 years. She was hesitant to tell him because she did not want to violate client privacy, and then he stated again that he had been working in this company for 28 years. After that, he gave her his card so she could send him a picture of the hoyer lift. Afterwards, he was drawing a map of my room to demonstrate other options for hoyer lifts while my caregiver was doing work around my room. He would not move out of the way when she politely asked him to move multiple times to where she had to squeeze behind him and brush against his body. He would not acknowledge her. When he drew his map of my room, it did not make sense of what he wanted to do. He had this idea of putting the hoyer lift in the ceiling, which I stated I was not comfortable with. He gaslit me by telling me that it was fine and I had to tell him that my ceiling would not be able to hold a hoyer lift with the poorly designed ceiling in my apartment. He then continued by suggesting putting me in a hoyer lift that could put me further down in my bed. When I told him that I would not want that, he then suggested putting me in a hoyer lift where I could park my wheelchair in the hallway. This did not make sense because my staff would not be able to safely get me out of my chair or bypass my wheelchair to get me to the bathroom on my commode chair. His next suggestion was to park my wheelchair facing the wall. This would not make sense because my caregivers would not be able to put the straps from the sling on the hooks safely. I stated that it wouldn't feel safe doing it. He then suggested, again, placing the hoyer lift in the ceiling and parking my wheelchair in the hallway. It had become more obvious that he could not think logically due to being under the influence. Afterwards, I walked him out of my room, where my caregiver was cleaning dishes. He kept talking to her about how she should not be manually lifting me and mumbling that it wasn't safe for her back. He then tried to give her his card again. At this point, I understood that he would not leave without me forcing him to leave. I had to walk him out of my apartment building to make sure that he was out of the building. I did not feel safe until I knew he was out of the building. Not only was I concerned for my safety, but I am still concerned for the clients that he continues to work with.

Very disappointed with my experience at CVS Pharmacy today. I pulled into the drive-thru at 12:26…read morep.m. and was immediately told, in a loud and dismissive tone, that they were closed for lunch and that I needed to come back later. I asked what time they closed because the website clearly says 12:30 p.m., but the employee ignored my question. I parked and walked inside, arriving around 12:28 p.m., where they were already pulling the metal security gates down. The same employee loudly said, "We're closed." When I pointed out that it was only 12:28 and they told me they closed at 12:30, she insisted it was "already after 12:30," even though it wasn't. I understand employees need lunch breaks, but closing early and then being rude and argumentative about it is unacceptable. If your posted lunch hours say 12:30, customers shouldn't be turned away before then. A little professionalism and courtesy would have gone a long way.

Her behavior is unacceptable and she is truly in the wrong industry. I spoke with the assessment nurse about it who left a message for "Kevin". I have no idea who Kevin is or what his title is. I received a voicemail from Kevin days later. I mean DAYS! I call back and the receptionist tells me he never called me and essentially calls me a liar, as I'm staring at Kevin's voicemail on my phone. She refused to put me through to him. That was the last straw! The previous day, I attempted to contact the nurse who had seen my husband only ONCE since his assessment and it was 9 days AFTER the assessment! My husband had a massive heart attack, followed by a serious fall, resulting in bodily harm and injuries, for which he was hospitalized again. Here I am chasing her and she can't give me an appointment to save her life. I told her he has an emergency dental issue and I need to take him to the dentist and she tells me her only availability is during the dental appointment! She then proceeds to get an attitude with me about my "frustration" with her. The next day when I attempted to speak with this Kevin person, whose voicemail had come in during the weekend, and was unable to, I had had it. I fired the agency over the phone and on the spot! Later that day I get a text from the evaluating pt to come and discharge my husband the following day. Are you kidding me?? I was respectful and declined. I contacted our PCP for a referral to a different agency. The agency called me an hour later. They will start in a couple of days. If you truly want good home healthcare services, this is NOT the agency to go to! The evaluating staff are great but after that, good luck! And heaven forbid you need to speak with someone with any type of pull. Forget it! The crass receptionist speaks for the entire administration.
