Avoid this place at all costs. I just put $14 of cash into my truck, and it will be the last cent I ever spend here. The woman working the counter--late 20s with an aggressive amount of makeup--has a horrific attitude and treats customers like garbage. She doesn't even know me, yet she had the nerve to argue with me and tell me I "don't have friends" after I mentioned I've lived in this community for over 30 years--likely longer than she's been alive. Her "famous" words were "I don't care" and "I know" to every complaint about her behavior. It's pretty pathetic when an employee is in full agreement with being called out for having a nasty attitude. Even a group of 15-year-old boys who came in while I was there showed more maturity and respect than she did. It's a sad state of affairs when a group of teenagers has better social skills than a grown adult with a supposedly developed brain. Today I went to grab a coffee and I used an extra cup as a sleeve and also to keep the cup integrity given it was the largest size (24 oz). The clerk had a bad attitude and wanted to charge me for the extra cup. I just left the drink on the counter and walked away. If this is the store policy; no wonder it has 1 star rating. 0 stars! If you value your car, avoid this car wash! This place has to be one of the worst, incompetent, and rude businesses I have ever had the displeasure of visiting. I went here on Thursday, Nov 2 to get my car washed. I paid my 10 dollars at the drive up, typed in the requested code and pulled up to the car wash tunnel. As per written instructions, I put my car in neutral, took my hands off the wheel and removed my foot from the brake. The machine guided my car into the car wash tunnel and began washing my car. As I came to the end of the tunnel, my car was slammed into a wall and came to an abrupt stop. No one came to assist me, I had to turn the steering wheel to realine my car to get out of there, and was greeted by an attendant who threw his arms up in a WTF fashion and started yelling at me. (I couldn't understand much of anything he said). He then insinuated the incident was my fault and I might be responsible for any damage to his equipment. I explained I did everything the instructions told me to do. He called me a liar. And said that I didn't, that he had me on video. He insisted I wait to make sure his equipment was OK. I didn't want any trouble so I acquiesced. Mind you he showed no interest in the damage to my car which was quite extensive. To shorten a long story, his equipment was fine, although he claimed it was damaged but he would be able to fix it and we should just have each of our own insurances take care of our property. I requested a receipt which he begrudgingly gave to me. Fortunately my car was drivable, but with extensive front side damage. In hindsight, I realize I should have called SOMEONE, although I don't know who since it wasn't a moving violation incident. Now I am dealing with insurance who are helping me with my next steps to repair my car. I am not from the Pleasanton area (which by the way is lovely), but I will NEVER go to the AM PM gas station/car wash again. You would be wise to avoid it as well. read more

I go here all the time for the convenience, but I have a black friend and we needed air and water for his car and the owner yelled at him and treated him like garbage. Me and white dude got different treatment the first time I go there with my black friend he gets treated terribly don't go here they are terrible. 2 things I like- the prices are cheaper than other gas stations. And the store inside has an atm. 2 things I don't like- they don't accept credit cards. And the car wash is terrible!!! My experience with the car wash is the reason I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 3. They have this thing I had never seen before to put your wheel on, that after putting your car in neutral will drag your car through. I felt very uncomfortable with this and proceeded to back up so I could leave. The service man ran out yelling and waving his arms for me to stop. When I stopped and rolled down my window he said "what are you doing?" I said I've never seen a car wash like this in my life, I didn't know what to do. WORST COMPANY EVER! I have lived here a few months and go to that gas station frequently. Today I pumped gas as usual only to have the entire gas handle come off. I go to another pump to begin pumping gas, go and report that the gas pump is broken only to have the very rude female cashier and her incompetent coworker tell me I have to pay for breaking the pump??? I should start off by saying, it's my first review. And sorry folks, it's a long one. If only you could give 0 stars. One of the employees was extremely rude and nasty. What company let's their employees yell and scream at their customers? Apparently this Arco AmPm does. My mother and I were getting our cars washed when we noticed the machine said it was out of service. We went inside to get it checked out. It was some goof and the employees had to come out and work the wash manually? Anyway, my mom goes up first and the machine didn't catch her cars wheel and forces the car backwards. (Cars are supposed to be in neutral) One of the employees was watching closely from behind. I'm not sure why he was there? But was skimmed. He proceeds to knock on my mothers passenger side window harshly and scream at her. When it wasn't her fault at all. There was 0 amount of respect in this man. My grandmother was in that passenger side seat. When my moms car finally made its way inside, the man approached my car and flatly calls my mother rude, he didn't even listen to me. I don't know what possessed him to step in back of my mothers car when the controls are inside the car wash. After the whole ordeal my mom goes inside to complain and ask for a receipt. She also asks for the employees name, to complain further I imagine. The other 2 employees give her what she asks with that guys name on it. The rude employee waltzes in and rips the receipt right out of my mothers hand. In front of all the customers! I can't believe the nerve of this guy. That employee deserves a major time out. I've never heard of gas station NOT accept credit cards and who in their right mind would type in their PIN code? I'm assuming, it's the PIN code to your debit card, right? And, *rolls my eyes* Haven't you people heard of Identity Theft before? What a great way to get your Identity compromised by giving the Gas station NOT only your debit card number while swiping your card, but also giving them your PIN code. And, what is up with the $0.35 cent charge to use your debit cards? Talk about robbing us just because they don't accept credit cards. I was out of gas July 12th, which was yesterday, mid-morning, but being asked for my PIN code, I thought I missed the Credit card option so I cancelled out and restarted. Second time through, the screen asked for my PIN code so then, I knew this particular gas station only accepted Cash or debit cards only. I ended up driving away with an empty tank and hoped to make down to Valley/Santa Rita, which long story short fueled up at the Shell's gas station since nobody was around compared to Chevron, parking was tiny and pumps were taken, but, Shell's station always accepted Credit cards so I was happy as a clam can be. read more

Today I got stuck in the car wash and I waited, and waited, and waited...honking the horn...no one came to my assistance. Thankfully, I had my cell phone and called for help. I explained to the man that answered "I'm trapped in the car wash". He laughed and said "GOOD FOR YOU" and hung up!!! WTF? I was furious and once I FINALLY got out, one of the regular girls met me outside and I told her what he said. We walked inside so I could get my money back. This is a great Arco AM/PM. They have a nice layout inside the store and it is easy to find things. They also have about 20 different fountain drink choices including a Green Tea with Honey choice that is off the hook. This beverage helps me get through my day! I wasn't going to leave a review about this but when no one decided to call me back after I asked to speak with a manager about this, here I am. Went yesterday for a car wash. I get in line, punch in my code, wait behind one person. There is a lady (Hispanic with short hair, only stating this so you all can beware of her) outside working the car wash. She "helps" direct me in the little tire lanes. Once I'm in the position she likes, I follow the directions on the board- put in neutral, roll up all windows, etc. All good. The machine was acting up apparently while the car in front of me was inside the wash. I see the lady turning it off, on, looking inside and talking to the driver of the vehicle in front. She comes to me, looks inside my car, and keeps trying to troubleshoot. I feel for her at this time bc we have all been there. But here's where my feelings went from patient to anger. The lady comes to my car again and tells me "Turn off your engine!" A bit rudely but I figured she was frustrated so I say "okay then I need to put in park" so I do and turn off the engine. 5 mins later of her trouble shooting, she comes back, looks inside my car and goes "why is your car off?! And why aren't you in neutral?! All this is YOUR FAULT!" And walks away. I'm dead serious. So I stick my head out the window and ask "excuse me?? Didn't you tell me to turn off my car?" And she keeps going about how the wash isn't working because I'm not in neutral etc and how it was my fault there's a line behind me (mind you the wash still wasn't working when she's saying this). Luckily my kids were in the back seat or I would have lit into this "woman" so badly. So I just said "you really want to keep talking? Because I'm going to report you to the manager". She just goes "yeah yeah" and finally the machine works. I get my wash and since I have my kids, I call the AM/PM from my car. The attendant who answered took my name and number and said the manager was just out to lunch but she would tell her as soon as she got back to call me. I did tell her (in a courteous way) that it was in regards to the horrible service I received from the car wash attendant. Normally I have great service inside this AM/PM. The cashiers/clerks are very nice 99% of the time. But the way this "woman" spoke to me, she deserves to be unemployed. I stop to fill up at this gas station twice a week and put in $50 of gas in my SUV and buy about $10 in food as I head from Tracy to Palo Alto. Every time I go in there they there is a sign on the bathroom door saying the bathroom is out of order. If you ask them, they will give you the key and there is never anything wrong with the bathroom. This evening, I went in and this time they would not give the key. This car wash does NOT deserve even one star. AVOID it. This ARCO AM PM #82635, 3121 Bernal Rd, at the corner of Bernal Rd & Stanley Blvd in Pleasanton, is the WORSE car wash. Railing of car wash to drive in, is mostly DEVOID of padding. Defective railing has caused bad damage to my wheels. I was told by employees there, that many customers complained about it, but Mike, the owner, did NOT address the problem. When I talked to Mike, the owner, the next day, he said he already ordered the padding for the railing, but he has not received it yet. Mike/management must say the same thing to every car owner whose wheels got damaged by DEFECTIVE RAILING at his car wash station. Management/owner MIKE does not care. Mike said, "One unhappy customer is nothing for me to worry about. I always have other customers." Suggestions for improvement: This car wash station needs better sign for car wash entrance on top of car wash or right next to it. It's in DIRE needs of better padding on railing to protect car wheels. It also needs better lighting at night, at car wash entrance & inside car wash. It definitely needs better customer care & service. I will NEVER come to this car wash on Bernal & Stanley again. First time & it will be my last time. My minivan was super dirty and I couldn't stand it so I took it to this place for a car wash. Walked in and found out they don't accept credit cards. Its debit or cash only, so I paid with cash. Overall the car wash is pretty good and my van was actually pretty clean and the dryers were pretty good too. Wasn't too worried about getting swirl marks from the wash since its just a mini van, but if I ever need a car wash, I'll probably take it here since its close to my home. read more

16 well spaced pumps, always .17¢ cheaper than the 'mainstream stations'. Decent size snack shack. They do have a .35¢ ATM charge at the pump or cash only, but if you are filling up, still saves you a buck or two. Well off the freeway, so not alot of pull of traffic here and no service garage. I wish I could give this location 0 stars! They charge for air for your tires if you haven't purchased gas. When I asked if they really charged a $1.50 for air, the employee stated laughing "We don't charge for the air, the machine outside does". When I stated that charging for air is illegal in CA, he said read the sign that is posted on the machine. You didn't buy gas. Then just laughed. Rudest employees ever. Went to another station to get air, and it was free (as it should be), and then went back to get the owners name and number and they refused to give it to me (same employee) and then gave me a piece of receipt paper with the phone number, and then told me corporates number was on the window and I could find it there. To top it off, when I asked his name (I was getting angry at this point), he asked me why, and covered his name tag so I couldn't see it. I visited this gas station Sat 5-9, not to buy gas, but to get a car wash. I went inside & was greeted by a very friendly cashier who took my cash & gave me a slip with car wash code. I drove around to the car wash and waited in a line of about 2 cars. The lady in front of me was waiting for another car in the car wash to finish, so she could go through. I rolled up to the machine to enter my code, as it was my turn. I didnt proceed to go into the car wash, as I was waiting for the lady in front of me to finish her turn. No sooner than I'm trying to put in my code, the manager ran out in front of my car, waving his hands frantically, screaming & yelling at me to go through the car wash, because there were 4 cars waiting behind me and that I was holding up traffic. I told him I had no idea that I had to go through, when another car ahead of me wasnt even finished. He said, "NO, YOU DONT WAIT".."JUST GO!" -- I was FURIOUS that he treated me so rudely. I told him that NO WHERE ON THIS MACHINE does it state that you should proceed before the car in front of you hasn't even finished. NO WHERE DOES IT STATE THIS! I told him to give me my slip back, that I was going to go get a refund. He proceeded to enter my code for me and waved me towards the car wash, and said "JUST GO!" I will NEVER EVER EVER go to this gas station again. He was the rudest, most disgusting person to have treated a PAYING CUSTOMER like that. As I was going through the car wash, I could see him in my rear view mirror, speaking to the lady in back of me at her car window, gesturing towards me and laughing and shaking his head(clearly---as if to mock me). Also, if you need gas, go to 76 gas station on the corner of Ray & 1st St, just a few blocks away from Arco. Their gas is just as inexpensive and sometimes cheaper. Do not try the triple clear coat option at this car washer. Apparently, management is aware, I've told them but they refuse to check it. So, I can only assume they are milking this problem for extra profits on the pretense that it works. I've lost $11.00 bucks for a plain $5.00 spray and rinse job. I also informed this guy at the washer exit, that I'll be telling my neighbors and friends of this practice, instead of denying my assumption he stated " good and also tell the radio stations" because he doesn't need the business anyway. You have to pay a phantom 45 cent charge there every time you fill up. Credit cards don't work on their pumps so you have to use your ATM and enter your PIN number which probably isn't a great idea identity theft wise. The people behind the counter, particularly the middle aged asian guy (the manager?) are about as obnoxious as anyone I have ever encountered. If you buy a car wash make sure you get it done within 6 days not 7 days because they can't count days correctly. I had to get another car wash code because the supposed 7 day code expired after 6 days and they acted like I had just raped their daughter when I asked for a new code. Why such a small thing got them so angry, I have no idea. It was so not a big deal. Just give me another code, smile politely and thank me for my patronage. Simple, right? Not at this place.
