I have to come here monthly to pick up prescriptions and the pharmacy is always understaffed (and this was true before Covid). It takes at least 30 mins of waiting in line to pick up a prescription. It's not unusual to see one person taking care of both drive up and inside customers. I absolutely cannot stand coming here and have to practically rearrange my schedule to pick up a script. On top of that, when my dr office calls a prescription in, they are often left on hold for 30 mins or more. Not a lot of options in Pinole otherwise I would go elsewhere. read more

The Pharmacy may be busy, but this doesn't mean they can't improve their customer service. Been on hold for 10 minutes now and counting. 10 minutes. I could have driven there in 7 minutes. They can't just ignore the phones like this. I've heard, "We're sorry, our staff is answering other calls. Please hold on and we'll be with you shortly." so many times now. This automated message is said every 15 seconds. 11 minutes is not "shortly." I decided to hang up. Improve your phone customer service. I hope management sees all these bad reviews. read more

What kind of pharmacy closes for 4 days in a row because their system is down without informing the public?

I've been on hold for 1 hour 45 minutes. I've been the "next call" for over a half hour. Enough said.

This is just ridiculous. I have been trying to get a refill for over a week. Arrived 25 hours after I called in the refill, and waited on line 38 minutes and they said they had to get approval from my doctor. Fine, I understand. 3 days later after speaking with my doctor office they said it was faxed in. Go back to Walgreens and wait on line 45 minutes again and guess what: they say they don't have it. They refuse to call my doctor even though they always pick-up. Back to calling my doctor again. Fine, they faxed it in again. Now I'm calling Walgreens to not waste a trip down there and guess what:48:33 minutes on hold, they hang up on me. I have now been without my medication for 2 days and Walgreens still can't get their act together. They've been using the same excite for 3 years now: we are short-staffed. Well there is a simple solution for that: hire more people!!! I'm now going to be working on getting my prescriptions moved over to CVS. I've had it with them. read more

this is solely for the covid testing: not even 1 star: I had to get covid tested again due to exposure to covid. and i'm not sure what is going on inside of the pharmacy, if they have only 1 tech or 1 certified person to administer the test but I have been waiting 45 minutes not even to the window yet. I had my appointment scheduled for 330pm, and it is now 415p. granted they share the window with the pharmacy patient and the covid patients, but figuring out a better schematic for this would be way more beneficial. it's like they take 15 min after every car to reconfigure?! thankful for the service but please do not get tested here. Walgreens in Pinole has the most unprofessional pharmacy employees. I scheduled my booster vaccine and after receiving a confirmation email and multiple reminders, I show up 15 minutes prior to my appointment time (as requested) only to be told no one can help me and to come back in an hour. The reason I was told I couldn't be helped was because some people don't show up for their appointments, so the pharmacist decided to go to lunch. Both excuses had nothing to do with me and was a terrible excuse to inconvenience patients. I do not recommend scheduling any appointments there unless you don't care about your time or money. read more

One lady cashier is amazingly friendly. The pharmacy is crowded, rushed and cannot really help with questions. It is great that they have a Fed Ex drop off, but I have always had to wait and wait for someone to show up. No matter what time of day, no one is ever there. It is in the photo department. This is literally the absolute WORST pharmacy I have ever experienced, terrible customer service, it takes an average of 5 days to get a prescription filled, the pharmacy techs have NO CLUE what meds are what, I have had them cancel my prescriptions, for no reason, they will send a text saying your prescription is ready, then you get there and it's out of stock! AFTER you have waited in the line for 45 minutes. Twice they have told me the Dr needs to rewrite the prescription because it's unclear, both times they were prescriptions that I have had for YEARS! My god .. ive never seen such blatant disregard for a customer ever. I went to the pharmacy to get a consultation on a medication i was taking and i walked up to the consultation window and told the guy i was looking to ask the pharmacist some questions. The guy turned around and said "hey this guy has a question" ( speaking to the pharmacist on the other side of the room ). To my surprise the pharmacist mumbled "whats the question" and didnt even look my way. I was like "really" and i left! You want me to have a three way screaming match to convey my question cause you were to busy stuffing pills in a bottle?? I would have gladly waited but he just didnt want to help. Any idiot can stuff pills in a bottles .. but i think a pharmacists job goes beyond that and i think they have an obligation to the the people in the community they serve to at least "pretend" to give a dam! My experience with the other pharmacist there was not like this. To the asian pharmacist at this wallgreens location: poor show man! You are not serving this community well and you are an embarrassment to pharmacists world wide who are passionate about there job and who actually care. I had to go to CVS in pinole which is not my pharmacy but the pharmacist there took the time to answer my questions and they were glad to do so! Hell, Sprouts which doesnt even have pharmacy.. had someone in the vitamin section who spent 20 minutes with me going through different vitamins i was considering and how they may interact with each other and the medication i was taking. I mean what the heck.. when you get more assistance from a grocery store clerk then you do your local pharmacy we have a problem! Clearly this Pinole Wallgreens has a management or a core competency problem. Its not a coincidence that they have absolutely horrid reviews here and im not surprised. Its just cringe worthy to be honest. This pharmacist and the management at this wallgreens needs to check themselves. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out this place is a grade A turd in the making. See you at 1 star! My advice, if you are compelled to run this place into the ground and you want to save some time before this locations dives off the cliff. . AT LEAST "PRETEND" TO CARE! First of all, I want to stress that the staff is terrific, just too few for the amount of business at this location. There are simply too few people working here . The ones that are here are being grossly exploited, working in panic mode more than half the time. In the meantime, customers wait in long slow moving lines both in the store and at the car window. This appears to be a business model where corporate saves money by short staffing the pharmacy and making customers unwilling and unpaid de facto "employees" waiting far too long to pick up their drugs. Because I like the employees I have eventually had the pleasure of dealing with, I have held off on dumping this store in favor of CVS where the pharmacy is adequately staffed and wait times, if any, are reasonable. read more

Be careful if planning to fill a prescription here. They were closed for three days at the beginning of the week (due to staffing issues) and had no one to answer calls. My doctor's office tried several times to call and find out if they were able to fill my prescription. This turned into a week long scavenger hunt to get my medication. When they did open they were out of the medicine I needed...when they had placed the blame on me the previous week. This has to do with the pharmacy only. I have no information about the store itself, only the pharmacy. Today I get a notice to come pick up my prescriptions at a different Walgreens (San Pablo Ave, near the Parkway), I go to there and see the drive up is closed again. Not a big deal as this is more of the rule than the exception now. So I go inside and see the pharmacy is closed up, dark and no one there. Guess what the problem is now. They are "Closed due to technical difficulties". I find a person working there and asked how was I to pick up my prescriptions? He said the pharmacy would be closed for the rest of the day and no real idea of when it will open back up. Maybe tomorrow, but not sure. He suggested I call the other pharmacy in Pinole and see if they have my prescription in stock and I can just get it there. Sounded reasonable. I called the Pinole pharmacy and after going to the pphone maze, was put on hold with the nice message they are helping other customers and I was more than 3 people deep in the que. I waited for about 45 mins on hold, and I got to being #3. About 5 mins later I was #2. About 15 mins later, they disconnected from me. Really?? I am on hold for over an hour and you disconnect from me? Poor management of that pharmacy as well. read more

I went to get a flu shot and had to wait a half hour even though I had an appointment. The pharmacist refused to pull her up mask over her nose even after I politely asked her to. She said that masks fog up her glasses so she can't wear them over her nose and that she was far enough away from me in a tiny room as she was standing right next to me. I also have glasses and I make an effort to wear my mask underneath my glasses so that they don't fog up. Many Doctors, nurses, and surgeons also glasses too and they wear a mask correctly. This is unacceptable and this person should not be working with patients if she is unable to wear a mask. read more

Walgreens at 2750 Pinole Valley Rd, Pinole CA charged three times for the same item (overcharge of $122.48). Called, and was told Mgr would call back, did not happen. Said they would check and call back. Did not happen. Went to the store, provided proof, had Bank Statements--was told Mgr would call back--its day 13 since the original overcharge--no call. Next stop- Walgreens Corporate, Walgreens Consumer complaints, Better Business Bureau, Seven on your Side, Small Claims court. My concern is how many senior citizens have been overcharged on their debit or credit cards and not even know about it or question it. Beware of moldy food!!!! Giving this place two stars because I was able to purchase my lipstick from here and I really liked it. However, upon my make up purchases, my boyfriend and I figured we'll just grab some snacks for a nice movie night in and oh.my.stars. I'll attached a photo but we found one extremely molded beef jerky pack which an expiration date of 2016? I'm sure Walgreens had nothing to do with this but don't you guys check your items before placing it out for customers? this pharmacy is a demonstration of how awful every aspect of a company and a customer experience can be. always a crazy wait, always a screw up in qty of how many pills are filled or not filled, different pricing every month on the same prescriptions. today was the final straw. the failed to fill my dog's prescription so both myself and my dog's vet had to wait for 20+ minutes on the phone to talk with their insanely understaffed pharmacy folks. finally, my vet called me back to say that walgreens informed her it would cost $150 to fill my dog's normal monthly prescription. she suggested i call costco. costco filled the same prescription for $25. no exaggeration. just crazy. please let them go out of business so something better can go in?!?! read more

The Walgreens employees here are racist and rude. Many times I've been watched while shopping by the same slimy "manager" or whoever he is. Giving this Walgreens a one star is being generous in my opinion. I have photos printed last week and the photos show just how great a job they did. Also yesterday I sent in via the app photos to be printed and after receiving text from Walgreens letting me know my order was ready I decided to pay for them on line. I went down to Walgreens in Pinole Valley to pick up my photos and was told they haven't been paid for yet. I showed the person and the manager both that it has already been taken out of my account for payment. They told me that the payment is pending, yes it said pending but it has already been deducted from my account. The pending is my bank, they just haven't posted the payment. They kept telling me it's not paid for, so I called my bank and as I thought pending just means the payment hasn't processed on my side by the bank but the bank has paid it. Then while I'm at Walgreens I get another text telling me to pick up my order. This store needs to understand how payments process and since I have a Credit Union depending on the establishment some places do not process transactions immediately. I will get my money back, but they need to let employees know exactly how payments work when you pay on line. read more

I wish I could give a zero. Just went here to get my mum sympathy cards. When I walked in there were about 8 people in line. By the time I got my cards, the cashier was finishing up with one person and I was next with no one behind me. The manager decided at that moment to empty the drawer and count the money. Why he couldn't wait until I rang up my cards is beyond me. After about two minutes, the cashier tries to scan my cards but couldn't as the manager had locked down the register while he continued to count the money. I walked out. Around 2:30 pm on Friday, 7/10/20, the woman ahead of me in the check-out line at Walgreens had a little girl with her (around 9 or 10 years old). The woman had on a mask but the little girl did not. The cashier (white woman with short white hair) proceeded to happily engage the unmasked child -- at length -- in conversation. She never gave any indication that anything was amiss or instructed the mom to have her child cover up her face and nose. Did I miss some report stating unequivocally that children cannot transmit the virus? If so, then why are we struggling to figure out if, how, and when to re-open schools? read more

A few times now I have ordered prescription refills online. When I place the order, it tells me when the prescriptions will ready. In this case I had two email responses stating that my prescriptions would be ready. I go to the drive through and it's closed with no explanation. I go inside and ask for my two prescriptions. The woman tells me they don't have any orders for me. I asked if they even got my order and they tell me know. I started to get upset and I let the Woman know that this has happened before. She basically told me that ordering refills online doesn't work. I got aa little upset and after realizing that she had nothing to do with this, I apologized to her. I told how this was such a huge waste of time. I asked if there was any other way to find out if my prescriptions were done other than waiting on hold for thirty minutes. She explained that there were only the two of them that work there every day. Two people to handle all those prescriptions. I went to this location after having terrible experiences at the San Pablo Dam Road location but this one is just as bad. I don't know about you but I am getting a little sick and tired of receiving lousy service and paying outrageous prices for items in their store. I guess I'll have to give CVS a try. I'm a Walgreen's lover. Used to be a Long's lover, but, sadly, they no longer exist. Anywho, Walgreen's has it all and they usually have pretty good deals too. For example, having a party and need corny decorations? They got 'em. Going to a birthday dinner in an hour and havent bought a gift? Don't worry, you can find something at Walgreen's -- really! I bought my aunt a Brita pitcher with filters here, she'd been wanting one. Other examples include DVDs, gift cards, retro candy, novelty socks, electronics, and Britney Spears perfume. See? Something for everyone. :) Plus, they have what you need to wrap it up all nice. Here's another scenario: you need some random household items and can't face the supermarket crowds. I assure you, you don't have to. Walgreen's will have what you're looking for ... coffee creamer, ziploc bags, lightbulbs, cat food, toilet paper, ketchup ... somehow, they carry everything you need! And since it's cold and flu season, I'll also give them a shout out for the pharmacy, the over the counter med selection, vitamins and supplements, and those all-important flu shots.
