The Pharmacy at Rite Aid has been great. When I started to get my prescription at Rite Aid the service there has been wonderful. They know me by name. The line to pick up prescription can be hectic but I learn going there in the evening can be a fast and easy way to get your prescription. As of late the shevles have been empty. I know Rite Aid filed for Bankruptcy but now they exit it and becoming a private held company. What is addicting about going inside Rite Aid is the ice cream that they serve. I have to avoid eating their ice cream. Parking is easy to find at Rite Aid. I have not seen their spaces being filled up. I will say that I have seen delivery trucks occupying the parking spaces with the unloading. read more

Probably the cleanest Rite-Aid I've been to. Came through to get snack essentials as I prepped for a long drive to SoCal and I was taken aback at how organized and neat everything was. I don't think I saw anything out of place anywhere. Impressive! I haven't been to a Rite-Aid for some time, so I'm not sure when self-checkout kiosks were available (card or mobile pay only) but it's good to know it's there, even more so especially during a pandemic. This Rite Aid is usually well stocked and organized. I don't frequent Rite Aid very often but when I do they usually have what I need. This particular day I was in the mood for the Thrifty ice cream just like the good old days! I even wanted to purchase the original Thrifty ice scream scooper. Look out for deals on the tubs of Thrifty ice cream. That day it was 2/$7, not bad! I couldn't decide, there were so many flavors! I ended up buying four kinds of ice cream for my freezer. I also thought they ran out of the ice cream scooper but the awesome sales associate checked the back and score! I was able to take one home. The scooper is a bit pricey at $29.99 but you're paying for nostalgia here. The scooper works perfectly at home! The cashier's are always friendly as I am checking out. More often that not their answer is "not ready" or "we don't have it", which is understandable. However, how they relay the information is a different story. No apologies, nothing. The pharmacy has terrible customer service. I get heart meds for my dog refilled here. My dog completely ran out of meds yesterday (oversight on my part) so I needed a quick refill. I ran interference between my vet in concord and Hercules Rite Aid to make sure the refill authorization went out. Received text confirmation from the vet that the refill authorization was sent to rite aid. Tried calling Rite Aid to confirm they'd received the authorization. The pharmacy never picked up my multiple calls. Went in person to check on status. While the clerk at the register was courteous, the woman to whom she deferred, was flat out rude. Vet said authorization was faxed yesterday. She denied it. Vet asked for fax number to confirm, she insisted instead that instead of her giving them the fax number, they must TELL HER WHAT FAX NUMBER THEY SENT IT TO. She said she'd then tell them if they had the right number or not. Just nasty. Vet faxed authorization again and confirmed by text. I stated I would wait to make sure Rite Aid got it. The woman said it would take an hour for them to receive a fax. I stated I'd come back in an hour to make sure they had it and the woman rudely responded that the fax may still have not been received, because (now) it can take HOURS for them to receive a fax. I explained that my dog was out of heart meds and I NEEDED to get his prescription filled today so he won't miss a dosage of meds. I'm not sure if this woman is a pharmacist or a manager, but she is hands down the rudest individual I've ever dealt with at this Rite Aid. read more

Worst Pharmacy I have ever been to. I have been here six times for an elderly friend. They have never had the medication ready in spite of saying it was ready. I have been waiting for 90 minutes this time and still counting!!!. There are two pharmacist, but they both go to lunch at the same time leaving no coverage. Only concerning the Pharmacy in this review, not the store.. I went to pick up some prescription cream expecting to pay only $10. I was told that I owe over $300. This didn't exactly shock me since it has happened 2 times before. Somehow Rite Aid Pharmacy does not get the correct information from the insurance company. Rite Aid is also bad about notifying me when the prescription is. ready to be picked up. When I complained about it the manager told me to fill out a form to be called. I have done this several years ago but I complied since I thought that it could have gotten lost. But the next time I had a prescription to pick up they still didn't call me. If only there was a 0 Star rating.... This relates to corporate notification re: online orders. I placed an online order and received immediate confirmation about the order. About 10 min. later, I received an email indicating that my order was ready for pick up. When I got to the store, I went to the checkout desk and the clerk informed me that there was no online order for me. I showed her the message, and after involving a manager, who further researched the order, I was informed that the store did not have the items I had ordered. The online order process for another competing pharmacy was very different....the online order was linked to the local store inventory; the payment charged to FSA/HSA account required a "backup" form of payment in the event that there are issues with charging the FSA/HSA account, when I am notified that the order is ready, I needed to "check in" to the system by notifying the system I am at the check out counter, and the clerk retrieve the bagged order, scans the bag, and sends an electronic receipt. The entire transaction is "closed out" by an email thanking me for my online order. Despite the multiple steps involved (including multiple notifications), the competitor online purchase process works. Why can't Rite-Aid corporate come up with something similar that "works"? read more

It's time for an update I think there was a staff change long time ago, there is a male manager now, I think he has made some great changes, I don't have to wait on long lines, the staff is very attentive plus super helpful & friendly. If you need help there is no hesitation they quickly assist you, with a smile. This is a very helpful staff which I appreciate plus I was walking around with my hands full and a staff brought me a basket for all my things even though I only came in for one item ended up leaving with three bags, some really great sales plus they have like a market at this Rite Aid line of refrigerators filled with meat, eggs, juice, milk, ice cream and much more it's like a one place stop and shop market/pharmacy plus they do passport pictures and have an actual ice cream area where they sell scoops on a cone!!!! Love! So I guess I am going to stop here more often due to the sales and great customer service 5STARS!!!! read more

This review is for the pharmacy only. This pharmacy is disorganized and slow. Why management will not double the number of pharmacists during peak periods is beyond my comprehension. Every time you come to this pharmacy there is a line. I'm not talking one or two people, I'm talking 4 or 5 people deep. Customer service at the pick up window, is you guessed it--slow! How long can it take to retrieve a RX, verify a birthdate, pay and ask the patient if they need a consult with the pharmacist? Bottom line is that it takes 15 minutes to complete those simple tasks at this pharmacy. I think their issues are a combination of lack of staffing and again disorganization. I'm doing myself a favor and getting my RXs filled at Lucky Pharmacy in Hercules or El Cerrito. El Cerrito Lucky pharmacy has the best customer service ever. read more

I wish I could give this pharmacy 0 stars! Do not use them for your prescriptions- especially if you need timely and reliable service for a serious medical condition. I have been at this Hercules Rite Aid over 20 years for my medications and it has sadly been declining over the past 5 years. They leave automated voicemails which call and tell you that your rx is ready, and then when you go to pick it up, they tell you not for 2 more days! (this happens ALL THE TIME). Recently, twice they tried to charge me when all my medications are free! These are not new prescriptions- same as usual. On occasion, when my husband picks up my rx's for me they forget to give him ALL of them (3) total; it's not like there any new medications, it's all the same medications, due to renew at the same time every month. When I called from home asking where was the 3rd medications- they said it was ready, and they forgot to check for it. Wow! They don't provide updates; as in 2 medications are ready now and 1 will be ready in 15 minutes etc. They no longer care about customer service. It's always one thing after another with the pharmacy; very poor service. It's too bad, a shame really. Luckily Safeway Hercules has a pharmacy and I am going to give them a try. On a positive note- the front of the house staff is wonderful, especially Lisa, who really goes above and beyond when it comes to genuinely caring about customers. read more

All employees stood out but their new Wellness Ambassador Shilpa Rivera is really a star. Eager to engage with customers, all smiles, and very enthusiastic about her job at Rite Aid. I went to the pharmacy to get a flu shot and they asked if I have insurance and I said no, then they told me to make an appointment. A week later I come in for the flu shot and They didn't tell me that I have to pay if I had no insurance. I know it's my fault for not having it but at least the people could inform that if you don't have insurance you have to pay out of pocket. read more

Do not , do not, come here for your prescription. The pharmacy is soooooo bad with filling prescriptions. They never pick up the phone and when they do they all have such bad attitude. They also never fill your order on time. You call them, let them know you would like to pick up your order, you get there to pick up and then they tell you " it's going to be 10 to 15 min" like that's why I called to get my order filled so that I don't have to wait! They never fill the orders for you until you get there and tell them your there to pick up smh. This has happened 12 times, I decided to take count of how bad they are.... I just don't want my hercules neighbors dealing with this bad service. Everyone in there are all very bad at their jobs with no sense of urgency. Very very VERY poor management. read more

Today is Saturday and I have been trying since Tuesday to get a prescription transferred to where I now live. CVS faxed the hercules rite aid on Tuesday, never getting anything back. Calling as well, nothing. Today I called this rite aid location at 10:09, on hold for a long time. Finally a man answered, I said I am following up on two prescriptions that need refill, I need to know the status as CVS had faxed and called many times with no reply. This man wad rude saying wait wait wait, I don't understand what you said, extremely rude raising his voice. Denying they were in the wrong as he is the one who answers the phone. I said again, they faxed on Tuesday. He got pissed of saying angrily I will go check. And guess what, it's on the bottom of a pile of faxes they have negligently ignored. I have been completely out of two medicines because of rite aids negligence. I can forgive mistakes, but being treated rudely, especially when Rite Aid is the negligent party. How many others are affected like this. I will never use a rite aid pharmacy again. Just got off the phone with a pharmacy rep there and I am not pleased with the way I was spoken to. I called for my brother to transfer his medicine to this pharmacy (and I guess I should have led with that) but Margie (spelling?) was probably the most snappiest over the phone encounter I have ever had to talk to. When I first ask to transfer my brothers meds, she said "well I'm with someone right now, I'll call you back. Is that ok?" Well you said it as a statement, not a question so do I have a choice?She was so monotoned like that it seemed like she couldn't wait to get off the phone with you and she get interrupting and snapping at me. I had to take a couple pauses so I didn't go off on her. Rite Aid, train your employees better. I get the pharmacy gets busy, but that's your job. If you don't like it, find something else to do. I haven't gotten the meds transferred over yet so we'll see how that goes. read more

I only had to switch to Rite Aid because my insurance would no longer cover my prescriptions at Walgreens so after about half a year with getting my meds here I figure it's time to write a review. I get meds here on a monthly basis so getting a refill is never a problem here, I usually call in my refill which I love. Picking up is usually quick but sometimes can take awhile especially when there is a long line. The pharmacy staff here are usually pretty quick and for the most part have a good attitude - although they don't say much besides "hi" and "have a nice a day". The actual staff at Rite Aid are really nice and on occasion I had several staff members ask me if I needed help finding anything. The store itself is small but they have a little bit of everything. Came here the other day to find Hanukkah wrapping paper on sell! Which was great. Yes there things here are pretty pricey and I would only buy something here if it was an absolute emergency or if I needed a particular item as soon as possible. The parking here can get kind of full but that is probably because there is senior housing right to the store. They don't have a drive thru here to pick up your medications (like they do at Walgreens) which can be a hassle for the elderly or for me people who have children. Definitely would raise this rating another star if they did! And yes they do sell ice cream here that I have tried once and it's pretty good! Over all a good store and in a good location - closer than Walgreens that is. read more

I have lived in Hercules for 25 years plus. Rite aid was always my pharmacy. The pharmacist are wonderful people who do a good job. However the staff are another issue. I have had issues with them making mistakes, not doing what they said they would do, and frankly just being very immature. Before this place opened up I used to go to Walgreen's in Richmond for any products that Albertson's didn't carry. Now that this place is open I can say that almost anything I need can be found in Hercules. The staff here are very helpful and knowledgeable. I remember trying to find a specific type of child's medicine that I wasn't able to find at another store. The worker helped me search aisle by aisle until we found it. They also have a decent selection of drinks that are already cold which include energy drinks that I love (Rockstar!). The store closes at 10pm every day but the pharmacy closes earlier. If you're driving around in circles trying to find this place It's on the corner of Sycamore and Turquoise (right before McDonald's). read more

This is the nearest pharmacy in my area other than than the walgreens in Pinole. It's a small building, with an even smaller inside. I only go here if I really need something. Workers here are a hit or miss on customer service. I've had the nice people who are extremely helpful & the assholes that I wonder how they got hired in the first place. Same with the pharmacy .. It's a hit or miss. But so far I've gotten pretty helpful pharmacists and pharmacy techs. read more

I have not had a prescription filled here so I can't speak to their pharamacy services. I can say they meet my occasional drugstore needs, which usually means I need some random beauty or first aid supply (epson salt, mascara, thermometer sleeve, nail polish) The service is slooooow. walked in to purchase melatonin today with my younger brother, nobody was at the checkout line to help me so I just decided to go to self check out, when I noticed that a worker had kept staring at me and looking over her shoulder at me. When I purchased my things and I was waiting for my receipt my brother had accidentally grabbed an extra bag while he was placing our things in one. As we were walking out minding our business the worker decided to try and stop him by saying " come back here you did not pay for that bag" , So after watching us walk around the store, watching me and making sure that I pay for my things which of course I did, we get treated like this in Hercules? I've been to this Rite Aid before and it's just your usually Rite aid like any other. They recently just remodeled the interior and it looks very nice now they have signs where everything is. This Rite Aid has a little ice cream station where you can get ice cream I have tried it before and it's pretty good quality but the service here is slow since the people who run the ice cream station are the people who work the cashier also. This Rite Aid is a pretty decent size it's not to small and not to big and also they do have a pharmacy. Last but not least, the staff here is friendly and helpful and there pretty full stock here so you'll most likely get to find the stuff you need here from snacks,drinks,makeup,birthday cards,medicine and MUCH MORE! This is the worst pharmacy I have ever been to. 4/5 I come here they have some lame excuse about your prescription not been ready. They tell you come in 15 minutes and they make you come back in half an hour. Worst employee's ever. Currently they have me waiting a extra 20 minutes on top of my hour wait because the pharmacist is on his lunch break. Why the hell would you tell me to come in an hour just so you make me wait? Plus they are super expensive compared to other pharmacies . The only reason I come here is because it's close to my house. if you can stay away from his hell hole, also the employee's do not care and make it known that they do not care about wasting your time.
