I usually walk to this Walgreens when I have to wait for my car at the shop down the street, I walk to Walgreens to kill time, the last visit I noticed a section with dollar items and they are great products. I didn't purchased anything as I didn't need them at that time. I had to drop off my car again for servicing and had an estimate time of 2 hours 30 mins. so its off to Walgreens, I wanted to check out the dollar section this time. I made a return as I had a coupon for 5,000 bonus points which I didn't get to use during my purchase. The cashier who helped me was nice, she returned the product and rang it up again with the coupon so I could get my bonus points. I like Walgreen's rewards program, earning bonus points is great! Accumulate those points and your items can be free with reward points. After I'm done I walked around the store to see what I can get, I saw the dollar isle, very organized located in the middle of store. The dollar section reminds me of the Dollar Store. Check it out next time you are at this Walgreens, I don't recall seeing this section at the other Walgreens store I've been to. This Walgreens has a very nice selection of Dollar items. This visit I bought vanilla wafers, 3 pack of Yahoo chocolate milk, mini bottle of Hawaiian Punch drink and I was surprised to see the Moon Pie in Banana. I bought the dollar stuff for my son's snacks, great deals, never know what bargains you will find at Walgreens! Besides the dollar section, I checked the weekly ad to see what is on sale, I like when they have register rewards offer for toothpaste, this week they have crest is on sale for 2.99 and with purchase of 3 you get a $3 register rewards, which register rewards are like cash to buy other items. I did kill about an hour browsing around here. While shopping a stock clerk asked if I needed any help. All in all, I enjoyed my shopping experience here today, will be back again! read more

My ALL TIME FAVORITE STORE!! Lol!! ESPECIALLY THIS LOCATION. They ALWAYS have AFFORDABLE SNACKS AVAILABLE. They have awesome sales and they also have a 24/hr pharmacy which is also a DRIVE THRU. I ALWAYS shop here for $1 snacks & or toys. The prices here for toys are really reasonable & affordable. Can't go wrong with Walgreens. Just wish they had one in Aiea area. I'd be there EVERY DAY. This has to be the worst drugstore on the island. The customer service is terrible. Believe the negative reviews of this place. I thought the other Walgreens was pretty bad but this one is the worst. My app showed that my photo order was ready for pick up but when I went to the store I found out that the order was denied and simply not processed. I explained to the staff that the promotional offer which plainly stated that all members of a family plan were eligible for the offer. But they were not having any of that. I even called the mobile provider to make sure prior to making the order. They could have at least called or emailed me to notify me of their decision to deny my order so that I don't waste my time coming there. In the whole grand scheme of things this was just a minor inconvenience to me so I let it go. But I won't make the same mistake again of ordering photos from this store. This was just an opportunity to check out the quality of their prints and I guess I won't find that out. Instead I found out that this store has the rudest staff and the most visually unappealing photo department in a drugstore. They just lost a potential customer. read more

I'd give no stars if possible. This is particularly a rating concerning the pharmacy and the unavailability of the staff. They're next to impossible to reach by phone and since there aren't many stores on the island the nearest one is a bit of a hike to travel to for a question about a refill or a medication. The last time I attempted to contact this store by phone I was on hold for 15 minutes and then disconnected....TWICE. I've notified my doctor today to transfer my meds to CVS/LONGS. read more

This has always been my pick up for medication because of the drive thru until now that they have inexperienced Phamacy people even the pharmacist that dont know how to read prescription. I went to longs after waiting too long for my prescription to get verified and thank God Longs knew how to read my prescription I was able to get my meds. I was looking for a drive-through pharmacy because I couldn't get out of my vehicle due to back pain, went to their location and found out that the drive-through is for pick up only. So I parked my car and went inside. I thought it was my lucky day because the store was completely empty. Because I usually use Longs and don't have to fill out any paperwork the clerk had to put all My information into the system. That took about 15 minutes. After we finish , I gave him my prescription. He told me I'd have to come back in about an hour. One hour! But there's nobody in the store. I had an amazing experience here. I was in the San Francisco airport getting ready to board my flight to Honolulu when I noticed that my prescription medications that had been check by security at my home airport were never put back into my backpack. I was panicking! I use Walgreens at home, so I took a chance and called this Walgreens. I explained my situation to Diane (on the airplane getting ready to depart for a 5 hr flight) and she said she would contact my insurance company and see if they could arrange a week's work of medication for my stay. No Wi-Fi was available on the plane. I didn't really think things would work out. But I was more than pleasantly surprised! When we touched down I checked my Walgreens app and my medications were ready and waiting for me! What a relief. I can't say enough good things about Diane and the staff at the pharmacy. Clean, bright store across from Kamehameha Shopping Center and Kapalama School. Went in for my hepatitis A shot. For all of us Yelpers, we should all take the shot since we eat out frequently. Better to be immunized and safe than risk the chance if contracting hepatitis and ruining your liver! Mike administered the shot and it was painless until the medicine went into my body. Ugh! Mike even gave me an information sheet about hepatitis A and reminded me that I need to come back for my second shot in 6 months. Easy and quick! read more

My loyalty was always to Longs Drugs until they were sold to CVS. I always considered Longs Drugs a local company even though they were based out of Walnut Creek, CA. But now, I'm indifferent since it provides jobs. Walgreens is located on the old site of Kam Bowl, which was another reason why I was a hesitant to be a customer. So many memories about the place. I really only go to Walgreens for one thing - freshly ground coffee. And when I mean fresh, I'm talking about a machine that grinds the coffee beans and serves a good coffee in 3 minutes. Every once in a while I'll buy some snacks. They always have good deals there. Parking is so much better than navigating the Kamehameha Shopping Center traffic. Sorry, Longs. read more

I stopped by this Walgreens on my way from the airport because this one is opened 24/7 and from my experience, Walgreens that are opened 24/7 are usually bigger and carry souvenirs!!! I found a lot of souvenirs and cheap Li Hing candy and my biggest regret is not buying MORE things here!!! I went to two other Walgreens in Honolulu but it just wasn't the same. This location had better sale! Is it because we were in the hood? The Li Hing candy here had a monthly tag for $0.99 (regular price $1.99) and the other two Walgreens I went to did not have the monthly tag and I even asked them to scan it. Nope, the exact candy was not on sale there. They have a huge selection of Li Hing candy and macadamia nuts you can stock up for souvenirs! They had a lot of that stuff on sale too! They even sell Walgreens Hawaii reusable tote bags for only $0.99!!! The guy at the cashier was really nice. He scanned all of things and wasn't annoyed that I was so excited to find all these amazing things at such great prices. My biggest regret is not buying more because I left Hawaii still with 80,000 points in my balance reward account! That's $100 of things I could of gotten for free at Walgreens!!! I saved my points so that I could splurge in Hawaii and I should have just spent them all here. We also bought the giant beaded necklaces here. A lot of things are locked up here behind a plexiglass which tells me this is a high theft store. I used to stop in for random items once in a while and lately, I've utilized their photo services for the convenience. After my most recent visit, I decided it was my last. A few weeks ago, I ordered photo cards online and before submitting the order, reviewed the proof for spelling, layout, etc. I went to go and pick up my order, nothing else, and it took about half an hour. No one was at the photo counter so I went to the front to get help. It took a few minutes for an employee to show up to the photo counter to help me. I gave her my last name and she said my order wasn't ready. I let her know that I received an email confirmation letting me know that my order was ready. She looked again and ended up calling a co-worker over to help her. She wasn't able to find it either. They then called a manager over for help and the manager found it in seconds. Was it training day? Not sure but it sure seemed like it. I paid for my photos quickly and didn't take a look at them before leaving since I had already spent a lot of time waiting. When I got to my car, I checked them out and the text wasn't centered like the proof I approved online. I went back inside to let them know and the girl who helped me called a manager over. I explained to him that this wasn't what I ordered and he basically told me "too bad" that's how it got printed. I asked for it to get reprinted and he told me I would have to place another order online. So I asked for a refund so that I could resubmit the order. He said "The best I can do is give you 15% off." 15% off, for something I didn't even order?! No, thank you. Need a refund please. I asked again and he apologized and said they couldn't reprint, this is how it came, I'll knock 15% off, etc." By that point, I had lost all of my patience-used most of it up waiting for them to find the damn pictures and then it wasn't printed properly and now this "manager" is telling me he can't refund it. I ended up raising my voice and other customers started noticing. I basically told him that I wasn't going to pay for 85% of something that I didn't order. The final product is what not what I approved online. After raising my voice and standing my ground, he immediately agreed to give me a refund. Unbelievable how he tried to still get me to pay for an incorrect order and had the gall to tell me he couldn't do anything about except give me 15% off. There are a lot of other photo and drug store alternatives in the area and I will definitely stick to them going forward. read more

I was skeptical when Walgreens built its first store near Ala Moana Center. Since then, they have set up shop in several places in Oahu. Now this Walgreens is near Kamehameha Shopping Center. It's quite comparable to Longs Drugs with everyday items and food stuff too. More jobs for the local economy really. The last time I came in here was for the annual flu shot. I don't really come in here for anything else, other than to price compare what the nearby Longs has. If it is cheaper here, then I will buy from Walgreens. Walgreens is the store i go to for about anything! they have stuff from makeup to snacks to medicine, home stuff, school stuff, etc. their prices are pretty affordable too! esp if you have their rewards card. if you use it when you go & purchase something, you build up points and get rewards here and there for stuff in their store :) cool! the service is good. wenever i cant find something, i can always find help around the corner :) the store is set up pretty easy to know where everything would be so you wont be asking for help quite often. They have their own private parking outside so there wont be any problems with that. oh! and they have redbox in case you decide to have a movie night at home :) whats not to love about this store! :) read more

As a retail supervisor I understand the frustration of working sometimes.. but seriously when u go as far as ignoring your customers that is a whole different thing. I asked for help from one of the workers she answered my first question. But when I asked her another question she was unwilling too show me and just said over there. Then another worker approached and i asked the same question to her the young girl thats when they both ignored me.. the younger then mumbled something to the older lady and walked away, without even acknowledging me. Walked out with more than I needed but very convenient for me to knock out 2 birds with one stone. I'd like to add that there is a photo shop here with a bunch of electronics to choose from and a drive through. Very fitting for customers that need to be in and out. I placed an online order for photo magnets because I had a coupon. Since it was a good deal, I ordered a bunch. I got an email that the order was being processed. Then I got a phone call that the photo magnet machine is broken so they were unable to process the order. From what I was told by a different store, it's regular photos that they stick a magnetic backing to. There is no special machine. So they are either lazy or they lied because they did not want to give me the deal. No wonder the Walgreens are closing one by one in Hawaii. Don't waste your time creating orders like I did, just go somewhere that will actually make your order. read more

DO NOT EVER USE WALGREENS ONLINE ORDER/PICK UP IN STORE SERVICES. Your order will NOT be ready when you're told online. I'm so disappointed with my service at the Photo Center at the N School St Walgreens. I ordered a canvas print yesterday afternoon. Online I was able to choose a pick up time, either after 5:55 PM or after 10:55 PM. I opted for the 5:55 pick up time. I don't live in town, so I ran some errands before hand. I came in to pick up at 7:30, thinking that 2 hours would give them more time to finish it. I walked in and not only had my order not been finished, IT HAD NOT EVEN BEEN STARTED YET. When I asked why I was given an ETA of 5:55, an employee replied with "oh yeah, that's the junk thing about our online ordering. You see, no one works in the photo in the evening, so sometimes the orders aren't even seen until the person comes to pick it up.." and I'm just like, well if this is a problem--why hasn't it been fixed yet? The lady who helped me and got my order ready said it wouldn't be ready for another 2 hours. I decided to go home and just come back in the morning for it. I assumed, well she said it'll be done by 9PM so should be done by 7AM right? NOPE. I'm here once again, told to wait, because they don't know how to assemble it now. YET ANOTHER EXCUSE. Let's just say, this is my first and last time ever using Walgreens Photo services. I'm sorry, but if you're going to advertise something--you best be able to hold up your end. There's no reason my order shouldn't be ready by the time I was told it would be ready. It's just bs and terrible customer service. They wow'd me with customer service! I'm moving and I saw some boxes in the isle. I asked the first person I saw if it would be ok if I took them. I had my baby with me, so she offered to take them up to the front for me and leave them by the cashiers. 8.19.13. I used to love this location, mainly because they carry a lot of makeup brands that you can't find in Longs Drugs (CVS), Walmart or elsewhere on the island. For example the Fergie collaboration products with Wet n' Wild, Sinful Colors nail polish and other promotional/season products. However, I've come to realize that this place is always hit or miss for me. I think it's a lot about timing and planning to come as soon as a new product comes out. Received extremely poor customer service at the photo department from this associate named Klei. I kept receiving multiple automated calls from a photo order that I had already picked up from over a month ago. So I went down to Walgreens to double check if I had picked up my complete order. It was not the automated calls that bothered me but it was the attitude that I received from Klei at the counter that bothered me when I told him that I had received a call to pick up my order. He just stared at me as if I was there to trouble him and said "so what, all the calls are automated". An awkward pause later, he decided to ask for my name and phone number to check on the computer and told me that I have picked up everything. I love Walgreens! I remember pre Walgreens in Hawaii I looked forward to going to Walgreens when I traveled to the mainland. My friends would be like "Walgreens?!?! Why?!?!" It's like a Longs with some fun things such as as seen on TV items and they have different kinds of not found in Hawaii candies. It's the mainland in Hawaii (if that makes any sense???). I always walk out with a bunch of impulse buy items like bubble wands or baby wipes. I enjoy walking through Walgreens and finding those yellow/orange tags that scream, "good deal here!" If you need toiletries, pharmacy items, photo printing, or snacks this place will meet your needs. If you need to waste 30 minutes of your life, do what I do walk around and look for those sale tags. read more
