This is a nice Longs location with pretty much anything Longs should have in stock. Today I went in to return two Items I purchased yesterday. I have never needed to return anything to Longs before. It was easy. First, they scanned my digital receipt and then the two items, asked me nothing. They let me know I had paid with a debit card, therefore the amount would automatically be placed onto that exact card. Simple. I then proceeded with my purchase. The store could use a little sprucing up...but that may be due to how some isles are made into isles by items. The lighting is poor, but only due to it being florescent... everything is always marked and usually in stock. (For Hawaii) I go here often for Lei and snacks. Around the holidays, I like to grab greeting cards. I have also stopped in for candies and white elephant gifts. Stocking stuffers and things when I need to buy multiple gifts and gift bags. 3-12-22 We visited this Longs which is convenient to the Salt Lake Park where we've been attending the kiddies' soccer games. Another soccer season came to an end and after browsing their rows and shelves we chose Skittles for the kids to pass out to their teammates. It's easy to find what you're looking for and zip your way in and out of the store. There was one cashier open to process our payment. Surrounded by many other popular businesses but there's enough parking stalls to accommodate shoppers. Their shelves are already stocked with Easter goodies and accessories. Came to the island on a 3 day pit stop between an international trip and making my way back to the mainland. While over seas I ran out of my daily medication and called this pharmacy as soon as I landed. They were able to transfer my medication and get it refilled and ready to be picked up within just a few hours. It's somewhat busy inside store, but people are aware of their distancing. Store is somewhat organized and signs up, but I had a difficult time finding the commercial products. In fact, they were near office school supplies on three different shelves and round the area, but not in a section by itself. It was skimpy, not much there. It seems some stores have pride in this area like two Longs on King Street, and Miliani's big shopping center. This Longs is a bigger 24 hr one with refrigeration going down one side of the store which is huge. The workers and customers wear masks. Social distancing is practiced. There was no wipe down station to wipe your carts. Well, I leave this place somewhat unhappy, not getting what I came for. You win some...and you lose some! It's pouring cats and dogs! I like coming to this location. They have some pretty cool stuff on sale. I wasn't looking for anything in particular until I came across some Hello Kitty masks. I found three packs in different colors for $2.99 I think..I totally forgot the price but still not bad for three. They came in black and white and I chose black. They had some makeup items on clearance. I was tempted but I had to watch what I spend. It's so easy to spend here when there's so much to buy. Lol Location was organized and items were easy to find. Parking is across from the store. Although I almost lost it when a guy parked next to me and literally banged his door on my passenger side. I had to back up first before the guy got out of his car. Today I just came into Longs Drugs to get a few items. The lines in the morning were short but what bothered me was the cashier. The cashier pretty much gave an attitude the whole time. I accidentally pressed no receipt and I asked her politely could I get another receipt with the coupons and she said there is no way I can print it out. I know she was not telling the truth because they have done it before for me. I also had a coupon for 15% off a product. She told me I can't do that either. I was upset because how can I not use my coupon. Overall the customer service was definitely not there. At least be polite she was giving me a sassy attitude the whole entire time of the transaction. Requested a prescription refill on an item that says right on the bottle 9 refills. This would be the second refill. They were like we need Dr.s approval I said it's approved for 9 refills and the response was we still need the dr.s approval. That was 6 days ago, I have called the dr offered to pay out of pocket and they were no we need dr approval and that they called once already (ONCE). Terrible customer service. Saturday 10:-00pm and 2-cashier but 1 guy is in training because his line is now 5 deep and growing but he seems to be wanting some help - waiting for manager. He's calling someone to help over the PA system ---- It took 8-9 min for someone to come out and now it's 8 ppl deep and this person whose name on my receipt says Christine. well her light is off but she's ringing up a co-worker who seems to have fist preference because he was shopping earlier. As of July 2020 this particular location will not allow you to use coupons that are worth more than your item. I tried to use coupons (for example, 3.00 off a brand) on products worth less than (for example, 1.99) and they would not take it. The registers wouldnt take it and the managers wouldnt override it. Its a real bummers. Other than that development, this store is usually stalked but the staff are usually unfriendly. Customer service here sucks. read more

Brought our disposable cameras to this store. They took it and told us it might take a while because it had to get sent to the mainland and there was a big backlog. That's understandable. So we checked back in a couple weeks, they said it wasn't done. We checked a few more times in monthly intervals... no photos. Considering all this talk about not enough workers, we thought this was fine. But last week, we go back again and then they tell us, it was dumped because it's been months since the photos were received. What!?!? So instead of trying to find out what happened, they blame us for waiting so long to pick up photos. Even after we explained that we've been there multiple times previous to this last time, they have the nerve to tell us we should have asked to talk to a manager after the second time of their workers telling us it hasn't come in yet! So bottom line, they told us sorry but not sorry that your vacation picture are gone. Poor excuse for customer service. So don't go to Longs for your photo needs, unless you are willing to risk losing them. Go to Rainbow Photo on Keeaumoku instead. read more

I'm writing this about an employee I encountered today at your store. She said her name was Lovina . She literally threw me out of the store saying she doesn't want to deal with me. All I asked if the have any of this so call product and she said yeah right! Sure you need this and I told her it was for my wife and she told sure you have a wife! I told her Yes I do and she said I don't believe you and said leave! Is this the kind of employees you hire second guessing and telling you to leave. This updated review is for the photo department: I wanted to add 2 additional stars to my rating not only because of the convenience of this location but because of the helpful and patient photo clerk that assisted me today. My mother needed a photo (unfortunately she didn't have a negative) enlarged from a 4x6 to either a 5x7 or 8x10 size. Thankfully, this location has such a machine (Fuji brand) for copying or enlarging photos solely from a picture....with no negative needed. The clerk that helped me was quite friendly and answered all my questions about cost, sizes available, and time needed to print out the photos. COST: 5x7 = $0.99 each; 8x10 = $1.99 each After the original photos were scanned and the print size selected, the printing process took roughly 10-15 minutes. During this time I did some other shopping in the store and brought all my items back to the photo dept to check out. The photos were ready by the time I came back, and I was given a separate folder to keep them in. Bottom Line: Although I still currently dislike the service provided by certain cashiers, I am thankful the photo dept has satisfactory customer service. read more

Aloha, or should I say a lack of. This morning at 7:20am a cashier (ella d.) Gave me terrible customer service today. While not handing me my change in my opened hand & just putting it on the counter got me bugged, but to have the nerve to tell me to hurry up, ("Hurry up other customers are waiting") while I was putting the change in my wallet set it off to another level. I asked another worker to speak to a manager to solve the problem & she tells me she is a manager, & practically does nothing but allows the worker to go on without giving me a formal apology. I've been a customer of Longs for over 40 years & to have a foreigner treat me with this type of disrespect is not how an full bloooed American deserves to be given such rude customer service. I'm writing this because of a very inconvenient refund experience and I hope that Longs will notice and do something about it, especially because I can see how it can be a problem for simple transactions of others. The workers were easy to work with tho. I went in for a quick errand to buy some items and used my debit card through Apple Pay to purchase them. There was an error so I used AP again... The payment went through and I threw away my receipt in their store because I had no intentions of returning the items. Then, I went home and I saw on my checking account it was charged twice. I called them to explain what happened and asked for a refund but they said I need to come back in person with the receipt. THEY charged me twice. It's in their records, I was just there 30 minutes ago but I still needed to go there with my receipt. I had this problem a while ago at Agu Ramen and they gave me my refund when I called them so I wondered why it was such a hassle. Anyway, I know I could've called my bank to dispute it but I just wanted to be sure, and get it over with that night. So I went back to the store and I thought I could just grab the receipt from the top of the garbage pile because I was just there... but the security guard said he flipped the excess trash and crushed it bc it was overflowing lol... so he was very friendly and helpful and said I should ask the register for gloves which they gave... again I asked if there was another way to get my refund and they said, "sorry you need the receipt" sooo I'm here digging through trash while people are coming in (good thing I have my mask on lmao) just so I can get my $12 back. After a few minutes I found it and then the lady called for an operational manager who they then said wasn't there so they said to come tomorrow morning..... lol I was pretty chill...I just wanted my $12 back from being charged twice!! I understand that I should've had my receipt, but cmon I got ketchup and nail polish! Lol! And I was just there and I have a bank statement!! They could've just looked at their records or check my debit card. They need to update their procedures. I would've taken pictures of me going through the trash but I was too embarrassed. Just trust me, I went through all this just to post on Yelp just to get my $12 on a Saturday night when I could be doing something else. I'm not mad but more embarrassed and frustrated there's so much that needs to go through for a refund. I hope Longs will consider an easier way to get refunds especially when they are the ones double charging. They have a hand written sign that says flu shots from 0700-1200/1400-2000. I went at 0710 and was told it was going to be 30 minutes for the shot. Why post the hour on a hand written sign when you can't even make that? Come on Longs/CVS you can do better than that!! Update. I came back in 30 minutes. Waited 45 minutes to get registered. Waited another 15 to get the shot. The pharmacy personnel are very nice. This issue is with Long/CVS needing to understand the impact on their employees and customers for waiting this long read more

Since I live close by, I frequent this store. However, lately, it seems that this store has been going downhill. They did a renovation and now it's like, where the heck is everything? Small displays here and there and all the ad items are completely out, even on the first day. If you are lucky, you might find an associate, however, I'm so disappointed that this store is just horrible for sale items. Why have a sale and not have any items to sell? It looks like a hurricane hit this store and no one here is able to keep the shelves filled. Went to the Salt Lake Longs Drugs recently specifically for the sugar that was advertised in the Sunday ad. I was told that the shipment did not come to the store. When I asked for a raincheck the manager told me that they don't give a raincheck for that item. They can advertise a sale item that they don't have but they won't give you a raincheck after I made a special trip to Longs during the corona virus pandemic just to buy the sugar. Longs has not been a local company ever since they were bought by CVS. No aloha anymore. read more

I come here all the time because it's close to where I live which makes it convenient. It's not in the nicest area and I dare not to go there after dark alone. One time I had gone there, a really creepy girl followed me throughout the store asking me to buy something from her. After politely telling her I was not interested, she continued following me all the way out to my car! I've seen her several times there after that experience and the employees seem to be unbothered by her. The set up of this store has been completely redone recently after being bought out by Walgreens and it is terrible. The aisles are smaller and longer than they were, nothing is where they used to be except the make up and alcohol and it's just not a pleasant shopping experience anymore. They should also stop giving every single customer a ridiculously long receipt. Perhaps they can save a few hundred trees. read more

This place is close to home so it's convenient to pick up the family medication here. However, there is always a long line for picking up medication. It's not that complicated. What's annoying is this old lady opening each prescription bag and opening every jar as a line waiting for pick up grows. There is only one pharmacy register open and gal behind the counter does very little to remedy the situation. If there was more than one person at the register, there wouldn't be a problem with some old person opening prescription bags and counting pills. Then when I get to the front after waiting so long for my medication, I found out that it hasn't even been filled. So more waiting. The doctor put it in 45 minutes ago. Looks as though they are short staffed today. I walk around but find that the place isn't fully stocked. I was going to buy hard cider for the hubby and me to find they don't carry it. Most Longs have a larger wine selection. Even the produce area is to be desired. Nothing looks fresh. It looks like they were half expired or passed the expiration date. I supposed if they moved the produce area to a more central area and made it look presentable, it might look fresh. read more

This particular Longs is located in the Salt Lake Shopping Center next to McDonald's. Longs Drugs has always been one of my favorite stores to go to since I was a kid. I check their weekly ad that comes out on Sundays because a lot if their snacks and household items go on sale. It's a habit that I picked up from my mother and grandmother. It was like "our thing" to go to Longs Drugs every Sunday after church. I've continued to shop at Longs as an adult because of their convenience and sales-especially sales on their snack items. Every Longs store has their weekly ad posted in the store-typically near the front entrance. This particular Longs gets kudos for posting their ad with little labels on each sale item with the aisle they're located in. Thanks for making my life easy Longs! Another plus to this particular Longs is that they have a wide variety of each category of products. For instance, their hair section has almost an entire aisle filled with so many different brushes, combs, clips, rubber bands, etc. in fact, this section seems to be larger than the average retail giant's section. The seasonal section always has a wide variety of items too. During Christmas they had a ton of decorations and wrapping paper. Now they have an entire aisle for Valentine's Day items. Parking at this location isn't the best-the stalls are crooked and inconsistent. Sometimes it gets tricky trying to find parking during the lunch hours but overall, I like this particular Longs store and the customer service is pretty good too. read more

just came from kapiolani ER. I needed to fill prescriptions for my 2 asthmatic daughters. the ER doctor tried to call them so wouldn't have to wait. after 5 attempts, he printed them and said try to physically turn them in. I have been in line for almost 20 minutes to drop off and no one has moved or even acknowledged me waiting with extensive line behind me. we live in salt lake so it would make sense to come to this pharmacy. while waiting in line, I can hear the phone ringing but not one employee even attempts to answer or update callers on the situation. customer service is almost ridiculous. the person helping me seems almost perturbed to be here or that he actually has to work. as if it my fault that they are so busy. I'm usually lenient and not so crude but I've never been so appalled especially in a situation like this where my 2 girls need their albuterol. read more
