This is my favorite Walgreens to go to when I'm in the area. Whether I'm getting a cup of coffee from the Coffee Bean nearby or groceries from Trader Joe's next door, I almost always make a stop at Walgreens. It's a welcoming drugstore, it's more organized and clean than other locations I know, and their pharmacy department has been very helpful in the past. I also love the makeup and gift bag sections for their various options in beauty and skincare options, as well as decorative options for gift-giving. I've been frequenting this Walgreens for years but have never felt the need to write a review as my experience has always been what you'd expect at a Walgreens, solid and pretty status quo. With the holiday season fast approaching, I've been making a couple of stops throughout the season to pick up items specifically from the photo department. Whether it was my holiday cards or calendar's that I needed printed as gifts, two employees really stood out as being helpful, kind and hardworking. Jennifer helped me with my holiday cards and offered to go above and beyond in ensuring I was happy with the results and process of ordering. Anna helped me with my calendar order and was so pleasant to work with and went above and beyond for me as well! Typically the holiday's can be really tough on retail workers, but these two really made what could have been an unpleasant and stressful experience a stressFREE and pleasant one! I changed pharmacies to go the one near me. I called to check on my RX and the person that answered the phone was uneducated and stated that the RX was a dose that wasn't even the one my dr prescribed. I contacted my Dr and when the nurse call the pharmacy they stated that it's the right dosage. I came by yesterday to pick up the medicine and Areg stated I don't have a prescription after 10min he came back with a medication in his hand and said okay $43 I asked him why was it $43 I always pay $10 co pay he said I don't know and went back to check. Another person came by the window her name was Mary very rude no greetings and said check with your insurance and changed me and walked away. She had no manners no customer service. I called to speak with the pharmacy manager she wasn't available. I will put in a complaint regarding the way I was treated. It's not about the money it's about explaining it to the customer. Terrible customer service at the pharmacy. Rude staff members. We went for covid vaccine. For both doses they said that the system is not showing the appointments, and they were out of the vaccine. With a little attitude magic took place, the appointments appeared, the vaccines appeared and were administered. This happened for the 1st and 2nd doses. They closed the pharmacy the 1st time and left us sitting alone for 15 minutes without any supervision. read more

This review is strictly for the pharmacy. Several days after filling my prescription here, I was shocked to discover they had given me half the dosage I was supposed to receive. Had this been a different medication, this could have been a life-threatening mistake. When I returned to inform them of their error and swap out my medication for the correct dosage, they were extremely apologetic. I tried to be understanding; occasionally mistakes happen. Upon returning home, however, I discovered that while they got the dosage correct this time, they shorted me ten pills! At this point, it's clear this pharmacy is extremely poorly run and is putting people's lives at risk as a result. Completely unacceptable! read more

Anytime i darken the doors of a major "drug" store as in Walgreens or CVS it is because i am sick and am looking for succor via hard drugs. This means that this review has to do with the people behind the counter at this store and how they acted/reacted to my need for a prescription. I mean certainly these people must comprehend that if WE (as in the hordes that stand in front of them with a paper 'script in hand) are in need of their services because we are SICK! Recently i had a bad case of the blues because i had a bad case of loving you or more to the point i had strep throat which is no fun. I chose to have the nurse in my doctor's office call my neighborhood Walgreen's because Costco before Thanksgiving is like the riot scene in Nathanael West's "Day of the Locust." I thought that this store would be easier. Boy was i wrong. I was given a wait time of 15 minutes but of course that was not to be. And all you women know this: We Men are ultra babies when we are sick. We demand immediate action. We need our Mommies! Well Moms is long gone and here i am at the mercy of these meanies on the counter at Wallies. On the one hand you think: were these people placed here behind the pharmacy counter in order to drive us to suicide? Or did all the demanding sickies drive these erstwhile normals to turn into mean spirited sado-masochists? Please take a minute and ponder this. For all intents and purposes i felt as if i would die within minutes if i did not get my fix of antibiotics now. 15 minutes turned into an hour but yes i did get my meds but since this was my first time here...ever, i had all kinds of paperwork issues. In that hour of waiting i felt as if i would faint. I felt as if i would die. The room was spinning. I was just minutes from collapsing on the floor of this store. Finally i went next door to TJ's where i knew i could get some sympathy from several long tern employees who knew me and would commiserate. I bought a nice bottle of red wine and it took all of my reserve resolve and willpower not to remove the cork with my teeth and slug the smooth red stuff down my gullet. Anyway, finally after seemingly 4 hours i got the antibiotic fix. I opened the bottle and slugged down two doses and washed them down with a huge gulp of the tj's red. Then i read the pill label: DO NOT PARTAKE OF THE DEVIL WINE while taking these meds. Gulp. read more

Fantastic customer service. These days calling a business to get help is horrible! But not here! I needed to print some photos. I called and spoke with Jennifer and she was very helpful on how to place my order online. I did so and after I placed the order, I called her back. She confirmed she had it and within 20 minutes it was ready. I had a spiral photo book of 25 prints and my brother picked it up and said it was fantastic. Great communicator, very polite. I had a very bad experience with this store pharmacy. My wife is pregnant and I'm going to pick up her medicine from this location. When I told them my wife is pregnant and I want her medicine immediately workers and pharmacist said we wants to going to lunch. 3 time I told them please I need that pill for my pregnant wife and the process is taking 1 minutes but they laughed and said our lunchtime is more important for us. There is this employee. She is so rude wierd, unprofessional. I was in the other Walgreens few street down .purchase, something but they were out of the other item. I need and when I purchase the item they give me a coupon I went to the other store in Glenoaks when I want to purchase I show that coupon and she said it's expired and I said I just got this one and she look at it and said.. so But you have to purchase .30 cents more, to be able to use it I bought a piece of gum and then she said anyway this will not give you any break she is has that sneer smile and obviously making fun of me. I said then why you make me to go through all this I got it from from the other branch she said go back to the other branch. Why are you coming here? Do you want me to come with you and redeem this ticket too. I said that's so not nice you bullying me and making fun of me in front of everybody OK I'm gonna charge it to my credit card and then the reader couldn't read my credit card and then she loudly front of everybody said, don't get mad if you don't have money on your credit card.. I was so shocked. What did I do to deserve to be bullied and embarrass front of everybody ? I got so sad and I was not feeling good. I came home and I took a Tylenol. I called the manager, and I spoke to him, such a nice guy . THIS PHARMACY ENDANGERS LIVES THROUGH GROSS NEGLIGENCE. I was going leave it with bringing the life threatening mishap up to their attention internally, but even after doing this, they grossly messed up the transfer of prescriptions to another store. The staff here are completely overworked, some are grossly incompetent and careless beyond belief and this store should be shut down and Walgreen's severely fined for running such an operation. Here's what happened: We entrusted them to fill an elderly person's prescriptions. Instead of filling the heart medication Hydralazine, the pharmacist Keith chose to fill it with anti-itch medicine Hydroxyzine (which does look similar but no pharmacist with an ounce of caring or even simple competence would make such a mistake). An intern or assistant (I believe her name was Tracy) caught the mistake and may be the sole credit to this branch. I insisted that all prescriptions be transferred to a less busy location. That was a month ago. Today, at the new location, I asked why another important medicine wasn't being refilled. Although we had other problems with the transfer, I figured that they were common problems (one prescription is controlled and can't be transferred around - and although it would have been proper to tell us this, I couldn't fault them too much and didn't want to go public unless there was no choice). The pharmacist at the new location informed me that Glendale had never bothered transferring this important (but not controlled) substance either, even though there were 4 refills left. In other words, even though we didn't take action when they gave a heart patient anti-itch medicine, and simply asked for them to transfer the scripts to another location, they couldn't even get that right. This location presents a danger to the public. Walgreen's needs to wipe the slate clean, hire competent people and double the amount of staff here. They likely won't, and this location presents a life threatening danger as long as they won't. Have never had to write a review like this in my life. If anyone has had, or has, a similar experience, please contact me so we can file joint complaints. This isn't just shameful. It's a public hazard. read more

So I ran into the Glenoaks and Brand store about 6 pm this evening. I had forgotten a few items on my first run and returned to get them. I found what I wanted and happily noted the item was on sale for two dollars off. So up to the checkstand I went. I noticed that the register readout only showed the regular price. I then asked the cashier why I didn't get the shelf discounted price on the big yellow sale tag? She quickly checked her guidebook to see if this was the case, and confirmed it. Again I asked her why I didn't automatically get the discount? She said, oh, you only get the discount if you ASK for it at the register!!! Seriously? Ok, this is the latest and lowest dirty trick pulled on customers by corporate america. The only way I know how to make a difference is to stop shopping there, and transfer my prescriptions to another pharmacy. And let you good folks out there in Yelpland that this is yet another company to avoid completely. And that's it. I want nothing further to do with this business. But NOW I have to pay attention to see if any of there cohorts are trying to follow suit to see how many people they can defraud by promising a lower price and then pulling out the rug at the last minute. I've had countless issues with this pharmacy's incompetence over the past 3yrs but after this most recent incident, I'll be moving our family's prescriptions somewhere else. My 2yr old son had a medication called in right before our pediatrician's office closed yesterday. He was in dire need of this prescription but when my husband went to pick it up- the pharmacy staff insisted that they had no record of it. It was too late to call the pediatrician back as it was after hours so I had to wait til today to deal with it while my son needlessly suffered overnight. Our pediatrician reiterated that it was indeed called in at 5p yesterday. When I called Walgreens, they INSISTED (with attitude) that they had no record of this Rx. After a few minutes of going back & forth with a female employee, she finally said "wait- is your name Broke?". (My name is BROOKE btw) First of all, BROKE is clearly not a name. It's an adjective & anyone who would ask someone if that was their name that in all seriousness is an absolute MORON & does not have the mental fortitude to be working with the public let alone handling prescription drugs. Side note- I must have told her my name was Brooke 3 or 4 times during the course of the conversation before this. She then went on to tell me in an extremely laissez-faire tone that "Oh. someone put it under your name on accident". No apologies. No change of attitude. Just "OH". When I said that this is not ok, & explained that this is not the first time something like this has happened & that my son had to suffer because of this blunder, she just said "mistakes happen". COOL!!! To add insult to injury- my husband went to pick up the medication on his lunch break- 20 minutes after this phone conversation & the male employee at the counter said "we have no record of this Rx"!!!!!!! My husband had to go through the whole ridiculous thing ONCE AGAIN. Like I said previously- I've had so many issues with this pharmacy in the past- Rx's are never ready at designated pick up times, we've been overcharged, I've been treated poorly by the wildly unprofessional pharmacy staff- but because of location, I've stayed there out of convenience. I've finally come to my senses & I'm ready to move on- to stay at this point would just be masochistic. read more

I've been coming to this location more and more often. I bought a few items and was supposed to receive 2 rewards and was only given one. I got back in line to let the cashier know. I didn't get his name but he was a white male on register on 07/12/2020 at 8:35pm. He was able to add points onto my account due to the register reward not printing. He was very nice and understanding, just wanted to say THANK YOU! I was a very distracted and didn't hear what he said but got back into the car and my boyfriend let me know the guy was very helpful. Terribly disorganized, short staffed, and very unprofessional. There's never any milk in the fridge (yes, it's easier to get milk when you're already shopping there rather than to go next door to Trader Joes and stand in line again). Every time I've been to the pharmacy, the staff seem very untrained and confused. There's always a cash register that's not working and they have to use a different cash register that's located at the drive through window. They never seem to have the prescription ready when you finally arrive to pick it up, even after they've called you to tell you it's ready a day earlier. I was there on a Wednesday evening and there were only 2 people ahead of me, yet I waited in line for 1 hour. The girl in line in front of me said she received a call that her prescription was ready but was told when she was at the window that it was not. Most recently, my wife had surgery and was given a list of prescription medications to take for her recovery. Since one of them was also available as an over the counter medication, the pharmacy simply didn't fill the prescription, but failed to inform us. My wife went 3 days without this medication until she realized that they pharmacy never filled it, and never told us that they didn't fill it. read more

Got vaccinated here yesterday with my brother. He ended up having a seizure after about 5 mins or so after receiving it. It was beyond disappointing that not ONE person working knew what to do or how to handle it. As i was on the phone with the 911 operator, everything she began to instruct me with was almost the opposite of how they were handling it. Not to mention, the "doctor" providing the vaccines followed me around yelling at me to calm down and trying to block me from getting to my brother to do what the operator was instructing. If you are looking to get vaccinated, i HIGHLY recommend not doing it at a drug store. ESPECIALLY this one. Thank God my brother is okay now and back home after being rushed to the hospital and spending hours there. So unprofessional, so unprepared. Took the paramedics 5-7 mins to arrive. That time could have cost my brother his life. There needs to be someone with education and experience present with these vaccinations. This experience i would never even wish on my worst enemy. I'm disgusted by the lack of education these "nurses" or whatever you want to call them have. Be safe everyone, we're living in some scary times. read more

So, it has been a while since I'd been back to this Walgreens, and I realized why. I made an appointment online for the flu shot and when I arrived there were at least four people ahead of me in line. After 20 minutes, I asked the pharmacist that I had an appointment for the flu shot and she apologized and asked that I remain in the queue. It took them about 20 minutes to help one person and I could tell there were also people waiting in the drive-thru who were getting impatient. The people behind me starting leaving and so did I. I decided to return in the evening and made an appointment for 5:45 and when I arrived I was pleased to see I was the only one! However, the employee there (Mariel) was already closing and said it was too late to give me the flu shot. I showed her her I was on time for my appointment and she said she had no idea that they took appointments. Honestly, it kind of seemed like she didn't know what she was talking about, so she try to claim that I may have made the appointment at another pharmacy but then I showed it to her: it was their pharmacy. Needless to say, it seemed like she didn't care and was just eager to close shop. Advice: 1. Don't make online appointments because they're a waste of time. 2. Don't try to show up before they close because they close early. 3. Try a different pharmacy because they're so slow here and don't seem to know what they're doing! read more

The abridged version of my horror story is being charged full price for a pre-authorized prescription, finding out that the pharmacist input the wrong issue date for my card (which is what got my prescription rejected), calling my insurance company directly to be told that this pharmacy legally can't choose not to reimburse me because the payments are all being processed on THEIR end (and it is illegal to not give me my money back at this point), and then being patronized and LITERALLY laughed at to my face when I came in in person to camp out until they get everything sorted that they screwed up in the first place. I am literally sitting in their waiting area as we speak, and I can assure you that I will never be returning. As I said, putting it simply, don't waste your time. read more

While they are one of the few pharmacies that carries all of our prescriptions, it takes so long to go through the drive through that they just aren't worth the effort. As a mom of four young kids, I look for the convenience of the drive through. We rarely make it through the line in less than 15 minutes even if there are no cars in front of us (with email confirmation that prescriptions are ready for pick up). Today there was a single car and the wait has been 25 minutes. Because of how it's designed I was trapped in the drive through line. You would think that the pharmacists (techs) would be ridiculously nice in hopes of making up for the long wait time. Unfortunately that isn't the case. The first star is because they actually carry all various prescriptions when not everyone does and the second star is for the hope that they'll improve their service. read more

I was going in to shop for groceries at the trader Joe's next door and decided to impulsively get my flu shot today. I did not have the paper from my company that would make the shot free. And the insurance that I had was niels for Walgreens. Mary behind the counter was very helpful. And she was able to accommodate me while training others behind the counter at the same time period pretty darn impressive. I went to purchase WD40 with a manufacture provided coupon (literally sent direct from WD40) - the store would not accept the coupon and said it was "at their prerogative whether to accept coupons or not". This is really unacceptable - this was even after they scanned the coupon. Corporate should come in and train their employees and focus on customer service. Unacceptable. read more

This is a brand new Walgreens that opened a few months ago. It is conveniently located just off the 134 freeway. The store itself is well laid out, clean, and bright. It has all of the usual products as well as friendly staff. parking - free lot with many patrons and very few available spots during peak hours, as it shares the lot with the ever popular Trader Joes. read more

I've never had any problems at this pharmacy. They have always done my prescriptions correctly, in a timely manner, and answered any questions that I've had. There is a line there sometimes, but I think they try to move it along as best they can. I have received flu shots as well there over the years, without any bruising or ill effects. read more
