First experience: Dr. Chang was short & dismissive and I was in & out without discussing the diagnosis. I didnt realize just how much I was NOT told until I did my own research about her diagnosis, and the medications. Second experience: Came back because front desk said I could see another doctor for my follow up when I advised them of my concern with Dr. Chang's strange behavior. Dr. Su & his staff member, Ava, have been fantastic as I navigate my recent Rosacia issues. Im confident as long as I stick to Dr. Chang I will be in great hands and even if we dont find a permanent solution , we can maintain it. So Dr. Chang personally called my mom a month later after I posted the review. My mom was actually surprised to get the call because I never told her about my Yelp review. Anyway, Dr. Chang told my mom that she didn't realize she was being rude and apologized. She also asked my mom if her itchy scalped has improved. When my mom said it has not, she proceeded to prescribed a couple more items for her to try. I really appreciate that Dr. Chang called my mom to apologize. That says a lot as a doctor and as a human being. Will my mom go see her again? I'm going to say for now, yes. She always believes in giving someone another chance. An update 1 year later. While the procedure I had went well, please know when you get sutured, it will NOT be done in a way where your scar will be minimal or as thin as possible. Instead, it will be done so sloppily that your scar will look like this. No matter how great Dr. Su is as a dermatologist, his suturing skills are TERRIBLE. I understand you tell me a scar will be there, fine.... But to make NO EFFORT whatsoever to keep it minimal is beyond me. read more

RUN and avoid Dr Connie Chang at ALL COST! If I could give a negative star to this "doctor" I would. She's the worst dermatologist around this area. She wasted my time and was so rude and unprofessional. I made an appt because I had concerns regarding a rash I had on my forearm and toes, as well inquire about getting treatment on my brown spots. I showed up to my appt 15 mins early and right when she walked in to our appt, she introduced herself and tells me that she could only address 1-2 concerns of mine because she's running behind on her other appts. First off how is that my problem when I showed up early for my appt. Secondly, I only had 2 concerns so no need to make me feel like I'm bothering you. I first address the rash on my arms. She responded with " I've never seen that rash before but I can refer you to another dermatologist" Wow! Thanks for NOTHING! Our appt took no more than 5 mins because she was such in a rush to get rid of me. That 5 min visit cost me $150. You're a crook Dr Chang. Please don't make the same mistake I did and find a more competent dermatologist that actually cares. read more

After leaving 3 voicemails and filling out their online contact form attempting to reach the manager, Nina, I called billing again and was finally informed that Nina was only willing to speak to me in writing. I was able to get their email address and explained everything. She replied saying it was too bad I had already written a bad Yelp review and because of that, the decision to charge me for nothing was final. They made a billing decision not based on what is fair or right, but because they were upset I wrote facts online. I replied explaining that I wrote the bad Yelp review after multiple ignored contact attempts and would update it if they made things right. It has been over a week and she has ignored my email. She also implied that Dr. Su had a part in the decision. So I am updating my review to reflect their customer relations. I had intended to give Dr. Su a glowing review for his honesty in office, but unfortunately now I have to leave a review feeling like he and his office are rip off artists. Dr. Wada has been my dermatologist for over a decade and she is wonderful. But beware of the office manager and billing procedures, and know that they don't care about your business or you as a customer. read more

Dr. Chang is a fantastic doctor, but I really wanted to talk about two others at this place. Awhile back, I had to come here weekly- cryo is considered the only real cure for something I was battling. Jennifer was SO kind and sweet during all of it, and was incredibly accommodating- it honestly felt like we were a team. She got me through that nightmare, and I'm incredibly grateful. Taryne squeezed me in for a few facials before a big event. I was going through SO much at the time, and in those short 30 min-1 hour appointments, we really bonded. This isn't just a treatment, it really feels like self-care. Not only is Taryne a great esthetician, she's also just the sweetest person, and I'm really looking forward to my next facial here. read more

I've had a few visits here. Dr. Chang is a good doc, but my appointments with her feel rushed and I don't have much time to ask questions. Additionally, the billing department actively commits insurance fraud, which is why I will not be back. My first preventative care visit a year ago was billed as a regular visit, which I had to ask them to fix. This year, they did the same thing. When I requested that they fix it, they were first arguing with me that it was not a preventative care visit and made something up about receiving diagnosis, which is not correct. When I insisted that it was, in fact, preventative, they DOUBLE billed the same visits as two (preventative AND regular visit). This is insurance fraud, and exactly why our premiums keep going up. read more

Dr. Chang was very thorough with following up with me and helping me resolve my issue. I had to visit urgent care right before Christmas due to pain and swelling from an infection. I initially thought it was resolved but when it returned in less than a month, I went to visit Dr Chang. She drained the abscess and gave me instructions on what to do when I got home. She prescribed antibiotics during the visit and then the next day, she contacted me and told me she was going to send the pharmacy another prescription, since she didn't want the infection to return again because the antibiotics I got from urgent care didn't resolve the issue to begin with. I was happy with her care and following up. It's been a couple weeks now and the infection has not returned. Waiting time at the office was minimal and the nurse that was assisting was also kind and respectful. read more

This is a very well run and efficient office. While the doctors may not take a lot of time, it enables them to see patients without having to make more appts and return. Twice now, Dr. Su was able to remove a cyst and do a biopsy the same day they were needed. That is a sign of organization as well as kindness in getting the procedure done quickly. Dr. Chang is amazing. I love her. But the billing practices here leave a lot to be desired. I had 1 little mole removed and I ended up getting charged 3x co-pays for the visit! 1 on the day of the visit. 1 a few weeks later for the procedure of removing the nevus. Then 3 MONTHS later I had to pay another co-pay for the pathology! They billed 3 separate times when it should have been all under 1 visit. Or at the most, it should have been 1 copay for the office visit, and then 1 copay for the procedure + pathology. Again, I love the doctor, but I don't like the billing practice here. read more

I went in for mole removal. The good: The clinic is very well-appointed, modern and clean. There was no trouble getting an appointment, and the staff were very nice. The actual mole removal went smoothly. The bad: Dr. Su really didn't take the time to listen to me - or if he did, he just kind of steamrolled right over me. I told him that if he did not remove my mole at the root, it would grow back - because that's what happens in my family. He launched into a big speech about how it's better to cut off the mole, that it would just leave a mark that I could cover with makeup (I don't wear makeup, wtf, would you say it to a man?). I felt like everything I said was a complete annoyance to him and that he just wanted the encounter over as soon as possible. In the end I acquiesced. I should have stood up for myself - guess what, my mole is growing back, just as I said it would. read more

I have struggled with pretty severe acne for YEARS It started when I was about 13.. I am almost 23 now & finally found what works best for me, thanks to Verdugo Dermatology. I had Annie for about a year, and she was fantastic. I was heartbroken to hear that she was leaving. Annie took care of my siblings way before she started seeing me & she cleared up their acne within months. My siblings STILL have very clear skin, thanks to her. Kevin & Kristy love you Annie! I was a patient here for a few years and unfortunately have a history of basal cell cancer. I had a new spot on my face and surgery to remove it was scheduled. Having had MOHS surgeries before, I wondered why this treatment hadn't been presented as an option since it's normally considered the best treatment for healing with less scarring. I called the office to inquire about that option and was flat out told no because my insurance wouldn't cover that. Not true based on my experiences of the past with my dermatologist and insurance before moving to southern CA. I called my insurance provider and was assured that it is absolutely still a covered procedure for me. Called the dermatologist's office back to report my findings and was given a date for the MOHS procedure although the office manager was none too pleased. I thought maybe Dr. Su would want to know about my experience and spoke to him in confidence about it. His response was "Yes, I heard you insisted." I explained that I had MOHS procedures done previously with no difficulty of it being covered. His response to that was "Well, sometimes insurance companies say that and then refuse to pay. If that happens, you will be responsible for the total and it could be thousands of dollars. It's not like you're a model or an actress." Isn't that charming? Not reporting this out of context; the conclusion of that statement from Dr. Su was just a blank stare. I knew I'd never go back to that office again but at the time, my husband and daughter were patients there too and I didn't want to write this review and perhaps make it awkward for them. However, once I decided to tell them what happened, they both said they'd never go back there again either and have since found a new dermatologist. Based on Dr. Su's assessment of only models or actresses worrying about scarring, I wonder if he thinks any of the expensive cosmetic procedures available at his office are only for models and actresses as well. read more
