The best pizza in LA/LBC. Waldo is a Master Chef. His pizzas have a crust like no other.... so full of flavor with that moist gooey inside. The margarita pizza and the hot honey pizza are my two favorites. Glad he finally has a brick and mortar shop. This location only serves take-out orders. Congratulations Waldo!

Stopped by after an event at the Long Beach Convention Center on a Saturday afternoon and had a…read moregreat time. We ordered the Buffalo Bill and Night of the Chicken Dead pizzas. Buffalo Bill had that perfect spicy, tangy buffalo flavor with the vinegar acidity you want from a good buffalo sauce. If you like heat, definitely try it. Night of the Chicken Dead was creamy, garlicky, and loaded with chicken. We also tried a few of their non-traditional cocktails and the deep-fried cinnamon balls for dessert. The cinnamon balls have a warmer spice profile with noticeable nutmeg/allspice flavors. The atmosphere is basically punk-rock bar meets horror pizzeria, and that's part of the charm. Stickers and artwork everywhere, loud punk music, cocktails, pizza and a very casual downtown Long Beach vibe. Just know that the music is LOUD, and the restaurant can run a little warm during summer with the pizza ovens going. First-timer tip: When you walk in, get in line first. That's where you order both your food and cocktails. Seating at the tables and barstools is first come, first served. Great spot if you like horror, punk rock, good pizza and places with some personality.

But recently I was really disappointed with a bartender's sexist, condescending attitude for no reason. I get it that it was a crowded event and the staff were probably stressed. But no, being a punk bar doesn't give your bartenders a hall pass to have widdle bwatty boy bwattitude and facetiously call me "babe." That's not punk--that's just weaksauce.

What an amazing experience I had last night. We have…read morevisited this establishment many times in the past, but yesterday was great and a bit bad. My wife and I ordered a pizza to start. Well asked for it to be welcome and perfectly it came out. Our main was Pappardelle with short rib and the lemon chicken. Unfortunately the mains were pretty cold. Small blame on the kitchen. Here is how my experience became a WOW. My server NASTASSIA was the reason my night was perfect. She was so understanding and empathetic about the cold food. She immediately asked what she could do to make it better. She requested a new dish to be fired up. New pappardelle came out perfect with another side of mashed potatoes. She once again asked blue the food was and if we're were happy. She also informed the manager of our experience. She came over and also apologized and offered my wife and I dessert. My wife picked the bread pudding. Overall I am a BIG believer that employees are the reason for the success of a business. More employees in the world need to be more like Natassia. THANK YOU

I've really struggled with how to rate this restaurant. One star? Two stars? I can't quite bring…read moremyself to give it one star because that feels too harsh, especially since I genuinely wanted this place to succeed. We waited forever for this restaurant to open. When it finally did, I was excited. It's in a gorgeous Spanish-style building with beautiful tile roofing, and they completely renovated the interior. The restaurant is beautiful inside, the outdoor patio is fantastic, and everything is clean and well-maintained. You really can't complain about the setting. But here's the problem. I have absolutely no issue paying a lot of money for great food or a great experience. What I do have an issue with is paying premium prices and getting neither. The prices here are comparable to what you'd expect at a Ritz-Carlton or Nobu. But you're not getting Ritz-Carlton service, Nobu atmosphere, or particularly memorable food. Nothing about the food or drinks stands out. Take Nobu, for example. You can arguably find better sushi at plenty of other restaurants. But people go to Nobu for the entire experience. The atmosphere, the energy, the people-watching, the social scene. It's a vibe. You're paying for more than just dinner. Here, you're paying Nobu prices without the Nobu experience. And here's how I personally judge a restaurant. When I get hungry, does that restaurant pop into my head? Do I find myself craving something they make? I literally live across the street from this place, and not once have I been hungry and thought, "Let's go there!" That says everything. What's especially disappointing is that the warning signs were there from day one. We had been eagerly waiting for this restaurant to open, along with so many other people in the neighborhood. When it finally opened, we went over, excited to try it. What happened? Complete disorganization. They couldn't seat us, wouldn't let us wait for a table, and had some strange system that seemed to make absolutely no sense. They were turning away customers left and right, frustrating people who had been waiting months to experience this new restaurant. I remember thinking, "What the heck are they doing?" There's an old saying: How you do anything is how you do everything. Looking back, that opening experience was the first red flag. Something just wasn't right. Unfortunately, after giving the restaurant two chances, that initial impression hasn't changed. The food is average at best, the drinks are nothing special, and the atmosphere doesn't justify the prices. And here's the thing: A restaurant doesn't necessarily need a great social scene if the food is outstanding. I'll happily pay top dollar to sit in a quiet, unremarkable restaurant if the food is incredible. Likewise, I'll pay premium prices for a restaurant with an amazing atmosphere and social experience, even if the food isn't the absolute best. But you have to give me something. Great food, an unforgettable atmosphere, exceptional service, something unique that makes me want to come back. Unfortunately, this restaurant doesn't deliver on any of those things. That's what makes this so frustrating. The physical restaurant is beautiful. The location is fantastic. They've clearly invested a tremendous amount of money into creating an attractive space. But a beautiful building doesn't make a great restaurant. After a couple of years in business, I still don't see the kind of excitement you'd expect from a truly successful destination restaurant. You don't see lines out the door or people clamoring to get in. And I worry about their long-term future because, at these prices, customers need a compelling reason to return. I genuinely wish the owners success. I wanted this place to become one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants. Being directly across the street, I should be one of their easiest repeat customers. Instead, after giving them two chances, I have absolutely no desire to go back. There's nothing on the menu I crave, nothing about the atmosphere that draws me in, and nothing about the overall experience that justifies what they're charging. It's a beautiful restaurant with so much potential, which makes the disappointment even greater. I really wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, I just can't recommend it, especially at these prices.

Dropped in with a friend, to watch the games now that football season is back in swing. Beer, food…read moreand TV's. Only thing missing for me was liquor. Not a big deal though as my taste buds prefer beer with pizza ... Anyway, I'll start with parking. Metered street parking or you can do laps until you find a spot on the residential side streets that I believe are free without restrictions. If there are signs, I don't know because I chose to park in a metered space and managed time via the app (Passport Parking). Service was great. The team - I say team because several staff members were on the floor and they worked together with orders, following up and even changing the games on a TV for me so I was craning my neck to watch. Appreciated it big time. Then the food - I liked it but didn't love it. Here's my take - it was bready or doughy but I prefer more flaky. The sauce for me I like sweeter - but on that it's probably because I'm used to sauce being covered by cheese and toppings. But I did like it. I'd go back and have it again. I just have to get it out of my head that every place is different and going in with expectations thinking I was gonna have what I had when in Chicago is on me. Enjoyed the flavor of the chicken wings but felt they were a little dry. It's an open restaurant with communal seating (bar height) in the middle with lower tables on the outside, speaking of - a few tables outside as well. TVs all around. Only one TV's audio will be broadcasting though - keep that in mind if you're going for the games.

Also I love that they let you know on a big sign that the pizza is going to take certain amount of minutes. You can't rush perfection lol The pizza is that. I usually get the deep dish but this time we did the thin crust and it was so good. Their wings and their ranch are a must Wifey really likes the bruschetta.
