Luckily the patio was open & it was great weather plus we had a 2 month old with us so could make it easier to step out. Prices are a little steep for an area like Franklin/Greendale. Probably a "nice occasion" dinner than a once a week dinner. Anything with some sort of protein is at minimum $21. I got the Fried Perch Dinner. My dad got the Prime Rib. My wife got the Tenderloin Sandwich. The Prime Rib was massive, not awfully fatty but I wouldn't pay $45 for it but that is also bc I am frugal. However, if it was a special occasion then I'd splurge for it. Dinners come with a salad or soup, bread, potato, & zucchini & squash. This is alone why I didn't get one of the salads & instead got the fried perch. This was definitely 5* to me. Cooked great, great portions, & I love zucchini. I just think the cost on the whole menu is where I dock the point. If you're okay with $26 to $30 on a dinner then this is an A+ spot with high class decor & interior. Heck, even the kid's grilled cheese looked SUPERB!!! They use the bread in the picture & we joked that we wouldn't mind ordering that when we saw a family order two of them.

My issue has been the consistency of food quality for the price. When I see parmesan crusted cod I'm expecting a nice crisp light coating on the outside but that's not what they serve. It's a glorified baked cod with a hint of cheese. It should say parmesan dusted not crusted lol. When we asked the response was a bit snippy. For me it's been hit or miss so the higher prices doesn't make this my first choice of restaurants when I have places that are closer to my house that are better.

When we first…read morearrived, one of our party members has allergies and as we informed the server and asked questions, I felt like the answers didn't make us feel confident about the safety of certain food choices. When we asked him to check the manufacturer label for dairy/egg, he said he "maybe could do that". That was a weird start. Our first round of orders were really disappointing. Our tempera and crab rangoons were soaked in oil and the oil tasted like it was old. We had to soak up the oil from the plate because you could see it dripping from the rangoon. The shrimp tempera was heavily breaded and super oily as well. I understand fried food is going to have a certain level of oil, but this didn't seem appetizing at all. Our Nigiri pieces came out and our fish was warm. Honestly, we mentioned something to our waiter and the response was that the rice was recently made so it was warm. That made us a bit skeptical. Overall our experience was not the best. The sushi was uneventful and didn't taste fresh. I was pretty disappointed and I rarely write a negative review. Jin's - honestly I hope you do better moving forward. This was a bummer.

I will start out by saying that the atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant and inviting. The…read moreservice was exceptional. Dyna did a great job of taking care of my wife and myself. We both ordered steaks that were flavorfully seasoned and cooked as ordered. The only thing negative about our experience was the carrot cake. We were told that the cake was homemade so I decided to give it a try. I was disappointed when the dessert was brought to the table. The carrot cake was a small square that looked as though it was cut from a 9" x 13" pan. We were both expecting it to be a slice from a traditional layer cake. The cake tasted okay but I guess I expected it to be a bit more flavorful. Despite the disappointing dessert we plan on returning to the Steakout. The atmosphere, service, and flavorful steaks are worth another visit.

The Steakout - Milwaukee, WI…read more If you're headed to Milwaukee, The Steakout is an absolute must. I eat steak at least once a week, both at home and at restaurants. At home, I know exactly what my family and I like. Ordering steak out is always a bit of a gamble. My husband usually avoids it because 1) we (well I) make great steak at home and 2) every other business meeting seems to happen at a steakhouse. The Steakout is the exception. This place was a solid 10/10 from start to finish. The Atlantic Salmon was an absolute masterpiece. Yes...even in the Midwest. Sushi-grade salmon, perfectly seared on the outside with a buttery medium-rare center. We almost ordered the walleye because, well, Wisconsin. Instead, we took a chance and were rewarded big time. Paired with a bright lemon aioli and served over a rich butter broth, every bite made us look at each other and say, "Okay...this was the right decision." Aside from finding a couple fish bones (because fish are, in fact, made of fish and bones), this dish was outstanding. Now let's talk Prime Rib. Prime rib and I have a complicated relationship. I see it on a menu and immediately think, "this is the one." Then about half the time I spend the rest of dinner wishing I'd ordered something else, like a trusty ribeye or NY Strip. Not here. The Steakout absolutely nailed it. Perfectly medium rare, juicy, flavorful, with a fantastic au jus, beautifully seared asparagus, and just the right thickness. Honestly, I don't know what they could've done better. I couldn't make anything up even if I tried! The French Onion Soup was another winner. Rich, cheesy, and exactly what you hope for when you order French onion soup. And because it's a true Midwest supper club, dinner started with a warm bread basket and a classic relish tray loaded with fresh vegetables, pickles, and olives. Honestly, I wish every restaurant still did this. Bring back relish trays! Of course, no great steak dinner ends without dessert. Even though we were absolutely stuffed, we ordered the tiramisu to go. "To go" lasted approximately five minutes. By the time we waddled to the car looking like Violet after her Willy Wonka blueberry fiasco, that tiramisu didn't stand a chance. Thankfully, we headed straight to Milwaukee's Summerfest afterward to walk off at least a few of the calories. Zero regrets. For the quality of food, the portions, and the overall experience, The Steakout is incredibly reasonably priced. If you're anywhere near Milwaukee, do yourself a favor and put this one at the top of your list.

During nice weather you can grab a seat outside and look over the water. They even provide pontoon rides during the warmer months (great way to enjoy a drink while you wait for your table). In the last several years they have gone through some significant renovations, especially with the outside seating areas. There is the restaurant on the first floor, and an event space on the second floor. Made 6:30 reservations for Wednesday for 4, and got right in. Had a table by the large windows that look for the patio and lake. Very pretty spot. Got greeted immediately by our server, who did a great job the entire evening. (thanks Laura). Got us water, took our drink order, along with an order for Onion Rings. The onion rings didn't take long, and they were excellent. Crispy with an interesting texture, hot, and served with a side of ranch (could have used more of that). The drinks were good, with the exception of one glass of a beer flight which was super flat, and was happily replaced by the server. For entrees we got: BLT, Blacked Fish Tacos (with extra bacon), Pesto Encrusted Salmon, and Salmon Power Salad. A note about the Pesto "Encrusted" Salmon. It's not really "encrusted", more like a scoop of pesto placed on top of the Salmon, and they finished under a broiler? Good but not what was expected. Didn't take that long for the food to arrive. It was all very good. The tacos were fresh, great flavor and hot. The fries that came with it, were NOT as not as I would like. Both grilled salmon entrees were also very good. The Power Bowl was excellent, with lots of fresh greens and other yummy add ins (goat cheese, blueberries, etc) A very good evening, with the exception of a couple of small hiccups.

We originally…read moretried a couple of other seafood spots, but they wouldn't seat our group with about an hour and a half left before closing. King Crab Shack was incredibly accommodating and let us make a reservation, which really saved the night. Walking in, I loved the coastal vibe. The fishing nets, nautical décor, wooden booths, and little crab details throughout the restaurant made it feel like you stepped into a seafood shack by the beach. It was clean, spacious, and had a fun atmosphere that fit the meal perfectly. One thing I thought was surprisingly clever was the vinyl bibs. Not only did they have an adorable crab printed on them, but they also had a pocket at the bottom to catch any seafood that inevitably falls while you're cracking shells. The gloves were a perfect touch too! It's a small detail, but it definitely came in handy! The menu had plenty of seafood options at different price points, whether you're looking for a smaller seafood boil or a feast for a group. We ordered two Combo #3s ($99.99 each), Combo #6 ($95.99), a pound of mussels ($18.99), and an extra order of snow crab clusters ($35.99). While seafood isn't cheap, the portions were generous, everything tasted fresh, and it felt like a fair value for the quality and amount of food we received (table of 5). One thing to keep in mind is that the combo meals have set seafood combinations, so there isn't much flexibility to mix and match items. It wasn't a dealbreaker for us, but it's something worth knowing if you're hoping to customize your combo boil. We all chose the Garlic Butter Crazy Cajun seasoning at a medium spice level, and I highly recommend it. The garlic butter gave everything a rich, buttery base while the Cajun seasoning layered in smoky, savory slices with just the right amount of heat. The medium spice definitely lets you know it's there, but it never overpowered the seafood. Instead, it built gradually and complemented the natural sweetness of the crab, lobster, shrimp, mussels, and crawfish. Every bite was coated in flavor, and we found ourselves dipping everything into the extra sauce. The seafood itself was fresh and cooked well. The snow crab legs were a little difficult to crack, but once you were able to dive in, it was packed with sweet tender meat. The lobster tails stayed juicy instead of becoming rubbery, the muscles were plump, and the shrimp had a fresh bite. The corn, potatoes, and sausage, and eggs soaked up all of that delicious seasoning and honestly became just as enjoyable as the seafood. I also wanted crawfish, but no one else at the table wanted to order a whole pound. After mentioning it to our server, they were kind enough to bring me a couple crawfish on the side instead of making me purchase an entire order. It was such a thoughtful gesture and really showed they cared about making our experience enjoyable. The only thing I'd love to see improved is the seafood tools. They provided crackers and scissors, but they weren't very effective and made getting into the crab legs and lobster more difficult than it needed to be. A sturdier cracker and sharper seafood scissors would make the experience much smoother. Between the welcoming staff, fun atmosphere, fresh seafood, flavorful seasoning, and thoughtful customer service, this was a great place to celebrate a special occasion. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm craving a seafood boil.
