It's a buffet, so I suppose you need to set your expectations. We love Asian cuisine and sushi, but would normally go to a sit down restaurant. Our lunch plans changed, so we ended up coming here for a quick lunch. The place is big inside, with two separate large rooms. The buffet is set up in the first room, with seating, and then there is an entirely separate room that is just for seating. It was busy when we arrived around 12:30 on a Friday. Lots of groups of people. We got seated right away. The buffet is large with lots of choices: fruits, hot entrees, baked fish, sushi, etc. Don't like any of those Asian choices? They even had pizza and garlic bread available. I tried many of the different items, and honestly, I was not impressed with any of them. Most of the fried items had too much breading. The fish was overcooked and bland. The sushi was mostly rice, with very little raw fish (but they had other veggie or cooked rolls). The cream cheese wontons were not bad, and some of the desserts were okay. I don't mind a buffet, but I was sincerely disappointed that most of the items were not that good. The lunch price is very reasonable, and I suppose, like the saying goes, "you get what you pay for." The service was very good, and our drinks and dirty plates were well attended to. Not a place that I'm likely to return to.

Literally the same as Lovers Lane Sushi and buffet, only the name has changed. Still plenty of hot food options as well as dessert and sushi. We recently stopped in on a Friday night, a little earlier than usual for dinner. It wasn't too busy yet and the staff were busy refilling the hot food stations with fresh items from the kitchen. Our waitress was on top of things with cleaning the empty plates and refilling drinks. For a buffet, they are one of the better establishments around. If you come at a busier time the food is more fresh, obviously. So depending on the hour your experience may be hit or miss. As was before, there's plenty of seating between the two dining areas. Even on really busy nights in the past, we've only waited 25 minutes at most. The turnover of tables is pretty quick.

The food is pretty average. But this is a fun spot where you can gather with a large group!

We got there early and were directed to the bar while we waited. The wine and cocktail menu was nothing to right home about. I was shocked that a steakhouse doesn't have a larger spirits selection. Behind the bar sat 3 extremely basic bourbons. Some scotch as well but dare I say, "yawn." Our table was ready on time and we had an extremely patient, welcoming server. On this night, we both ordered the 7oz filet. I dare to say mine was barely 4oz precook. By the time it showed up I thought I was hit with a shrink ray. Anyway, the flavor was great, I just wanted more. It was busy on a Friday night, which is great to see. The south side seems to love it.

This place was hustling and bustling. I ordered an old fashioned and the cocktails were also had at our table, all good. My grandma was impressed with the relish tray and the bread was delicious. Our table ordered a variety of items from lemon chicken, spaghetti, silician steak, New York strip and the seafood combo. All were delicious. My only food complaint was the pasta that came with the lemon chicken. It wasn't great and I think mashed potatoes would have been a better side. Also, the table was quite cramped. It was a table with an end against the wall. Me being against the wall on the side for three people, had very little room. Plenty of room though for the side of the table with two people. Would definitely go back, in fact my mom ended up going back the following week with friends for NYE!

During nice weather you can grab a seat outside and look over the water. They even provide pontoon rides during the warmer months (great way to enjoy a drink while you wait for your table). In the last several years they have gone through some significant renovations, especially with the outside seating areas. There is the restaurant on the first floor, and an event space on the second floor. Made 6:30 reservations for Wednesday for 4, and got right in. Had a table by the large windows that look for the patio and lake. Very pretty spot. Got greeted immediately by our server, who did a great job the entire evening. (thanks Laura). Got us water, took our drink order, along with an order for Onion Rings. The onion rings didn't take long, and they were excellent. Crispy with an interesting texture, hot, and served with a side of ranch (could have used more of that). The drinks were good, with the exception of one glass of a beer flight which was super flat, and was happily replaced by the server. For entrees we got: BLT, Blacked Fish Tacos (with extra bacon), Pesto Encrusted Salmon, and Salmon Power Salad. A note about the Pesto "Encrusted" Salmon. It's not really "encrusted", more like a scoop of pesto placed on top of the Salmon, and they finished under a broiler? Good but not what was expected. Didn't take that long for the food to arrive. It was all very good. The tacos were fresh, great flavor and hot. The fries that came with it, were NOT as not as I would like. Both grilled salmon entrees were also very good. The Power Bowl was excellent, with lots of fresh greens and other yummy add ins (goat cheese, blueberries, etc) A very good evening, with the exception of a couple of small hiccups.

We went on a Thursday night and still needed to wait 40 minutes for a table. I didn't expect that since this place is a bit off the main corridor. I had been here several times, but my last visit was probably 8-10 years ago. I always forget about it since, like I said, it's off the Hales Corners corridor of Hwy 100, and a little too far east on Janesville Rd from main Muskego corridor. The place hasn't changed a bit on the inside. Still a semi-formal interior with plenty of seating in both the dining room and bar area. It can be a little loud when full, and having a conversation with my husband was quite difficult. That's a pretty typical experience in these older buildings though. Just something to keep in mind if you're looking for a quiet dinner location. I ordered salmon, my husband ordered a steak. We both had soup as a starter along with a relish tray and bread - both of which seem to be unlimited. I thought my salmon was cooked perfectly, though my mashed potatoes were watery tasting. My husband thought the same of his steak and potatoes. Not the worst thing in the world, but mashed potatoes are not hard to do properly so I was a little disappointed in that. Would I come here again? Probably. Our two dinners were more than $80 before tip, so it was an expensive night out. It's not a place we would add to our normal rotation, but it's a decent special occasion spot.

Don't let the white jackets on the servers fool you, they are relaxed and personable. It's a supper club. They may not have the most extensive menu, but I don't know of anyone who has ever had a issue with what they ordered. Normally, I'm the person who goes out to try something different. JG's is an exception that this rule. I love lamb, especially lamb chops when they are prepared properly. I have always been satisfied with the lamb chops. Simply the best. Tonight we came with another couple, who were celebrating a birthday. They are members of JGs loyalty club. At our table, they had left a handwritten card with birthday greeting. They were also entitled to a discount. We have had this server before, and have always impressed with the professionalism, and helpfulness. After ordering a round of drinks, with a couple of excellent old fashioned, we were ready to place our food order. Of course I got the Lamb Chops, and the others ordered, Chicken Piccata, Steak Diane, and Bacon Wrapped Scallops. While we waited, there was bread and small tray of crackers and spreads (I do wish they served an actual relish tray). Didn't take that long for the food. It was all hot, flavorful and good portions. My Lamb Chops were a perfect medium rare. The sides were also sufficiently hot, which was an improvement over our last visit. All the other entrees were excellent. And everyone had some leftovers to take home. For dessert the birthday boy got a free Schaum Torte. We added to that with a Brandy Alexander, which was hand mixed and not overblended. And a Creme Brulee, freshly torted so that caramel with dry and brittle, not soft and tacky. A great way to end a superb meal. Definitely a place that we look forward to returning too!

We arrived for our 6:00 reservation a little late, but were seated immediately. Upon being seated, we noticed it was quite crowded and were prepared for a few bumps along the road. Our waiter came to our table relatively quickly. Gave us waters and asked if we wanted any drinks. My wife went with a Diet Pepsi and I ordered the Wisconsin old fashioned. When the drinks came we were ready to order and put in our food order. My wife always gets the New York strip, but wasn't positive how she wanted it prepared. The waiter suggested to get it a step lower because they could always recook it but you can't bring it back. So she went with medium (she later stopped the waiter to change it to medium well). She also noticed on the menu that she could get a Grecian side salad instead of the house side salad for $2.95 extra. She went with that and a side of French fries. I had never been to Open Flame but my wife was raving about their steaks. So I decided to follow suit. I got the New York strip steak cooked medium. I always get French onion soup with my steak, and I also decided on French fries. A few minutes later we get our salad and soup. Except that she was brought the dinner sized salad instead of the side salad. After mulling this over when the waiter came back to ask how the first few bites were we told him about the mix up. He said that he told us it would be an up-charge and we knew that going in. We told him about the fine print on the menu where it said it'd be a side salad. He went and found a manager and they went to the serving kiosk. The came back to the table and said that it would be adjusted on our bill. The salad was gigantic and had lots of feta, onions, bell peppers, and pepperoncinis. The French onion soup was very delicious as well. After looking around I noticed that all the tables around us had bread baskets and we didn't have one. When the waiter came to clear our plates and give us a box for the salad I asked for one and he said he'd get it. Shortly after that we got our steaks. One of them had a white stick in it to tell which steak was cooked which temp. I cut into the steak without the stick and told my wife we had to switch, and we were very glad we did. Her steak was cooked a wonderful medium well and the medium steak was cooked very well and the center was still warm. The fries were quite delightful and the vegetables were cooked very well too. The vegetables just needed a touch of salt and pepper. The bread came at the same time as our dinners and it was welcomed because it was warm and pillowy inside but the crust had a nice firmness to it. It was great to sop up the steak juice on the plate. The experience was pretty good all things considered, it was a busy night with a lot going on. We both took some food home to enjoy later one. When the bill came we were anxious to see how much off they took from the dinner salad. They made it right and gave it to us for the price of the side salad upgrade. It was a 30 minute drive for us and we talked on our walk back to the car that we would indeed be back, but not at such a premium time or date.
