Beef with Vegetables (I added sambal on top)

I placed an order for delivery before reading all of the negative reviews, so I was expecting a disappointing meal. I placed my online order at 4:05 and much to my surprise it was at my door at 4:45! Everything was hot & packaged well. I dug into the donuts right away, they were soft & warm. I ordered beef with vegetables, which was flavorful with tender beef. On the constructive side, the hot & sour soup didn't have much consistency to it, but the flavor was decent. Overall, I was pleased with my meal!

My hubby and I tend to go here for lunch brunch. When we leave, we kind of ask each other why we went. So that's not a good sign. I'd probably give it more of a 2.5. The place itself is old inside. It is carpeted (gross-ish) and even the vinyl table covers have rips. But service is kind and pleasant always. The food is ok. This last time, the buffet was not supplied well with food. It wasn't that busy, but they had many empty trays. We normally like the idea of just picking and choosing from lots of different options. But if the bins are empty, there is not as big of a choice. Normally I would say the food is just average and it's convenient for us location wise. But recently we are more and more "meh" about the food. We will most likely take a break from them and see if when we do return, we get a better experience food wise.(So that we can look past the carpet.)

Food was served hot, egg rolls were small and they should add bread or some type of dinner rolls with your dinner.

We also like the Hot & Sour soup, but it's no different than any other place. We've haven't opted to dine in, because there's not much in terms of ambiance. That being said, if you call to pick up, it's always only 15 minutes before you can pick up a piping hot dinner!

Aside from these things the quality of food provided was less than satisfactory. We got a large order of chicken fried rice and a large order of orange chicken for pick up on Friday at about 4pm. The chicken fried rice was just okay, not bad! The orange chicken is where it got really disappointing. The orange chicken pieces 80% breading 20% chicken. What little chicken there was in each piece was super... hard? Perhaps chewy would be a better word, and dry? Despite the sauce. It was almost undeniable that I was eating yesterday's, or even the day before that's leftover food. It was not fresh. I cook at home everyday, so when I do decide to treat myself to a break from cooking for the night, its really disappointing when I don't even wanna eat the food I spent $20-$30 on because its so bad. So I won't be ordering here again.

There are still lots of…read morepictures from their old location on Layton, but as of April 2025, they are inside Rayan Market & Restaurant, a Middle Eastern market (see pictures). It is a small family owned business, and mother cooks all the food. It's only been a month since they moved here from Layton, so they don't have a sign yet, but just go in to the Rayan super market, and navigate yourself to the back of the building. They do have a table off to the side inside the market if you're in a pinch and need to eat there, but I'd recommend taking the food to go. The family is friendly, and if you aren't too familiar with Mediterranean food, they will help you navigate their menu items. They have 2 types of rice. One is a smoked rice (first time I tried it, and it was good!), and the other one is cinnamon. I didn't care for the latter, but the smoked rice was delicious. I was only going to try a bite or two, but I ended up kicking myself off of keto and ate a whole bowl. Chicken special - with rice and salad Salad was a small portion of very fresh lettuce, tomato and cucumber in light oil dressing. Chicken was a bit dry for my taste. They did have the chicken in a warmer plate (like the buffet style) and it must have been sitting there a while. The flavors were good, but the dryness was disappointing. The menu says "half chicken", but we got 2 pieces of thigh+drum. In a way that's good, cuz any breast meat would have been so much more dry. Lamb special - with rice and salad We ordered the cinnamon rice for this dish and the smoked one for the chicken dish. Like I said, the smoked rice was better for my palate. The lamb was delicious. It was falling off the bones, but it wasn't dry. We got 3 large chunks of lamb with bone and one little piece boneless. In both plates, our server piled the rice so high! I hope they don't go out of business giving so much rice! But I'm not complaining. Overall, the meal was delicious and I would definitely go again. I'd love to try some of their appetizers and other meat items.

I had ordered a cup of Tom Kah and was delivered and charged for a bowl of soup, which was a big price difference. That was a tad annoying just because we had nearly four different people approach our table to check on us to start. The timing of our dishes was off as well. I received my Pud See Yew and it was nearly 10 minutes until the Pud Thai came out and when it did the food had a horrendous burnt taste. We did send it back and they gladly corrected it, but at the same time something seemed off with communication. Our servers were nice, but they filled our waters like 30 times - every time we took a drink it seemed. Although very attentive, felt a bit overdoing it and didn't allow us to chat consistently without interruption of asking how is everything when we didn't really have food yet. I would come back because the food was so good.

It was try and tough and I shouldn't have even put it in my mouth, but I reluctantly did! Oh wait, this isn't that forum in that adult magazine.... But Yuck Yuck Yuck to that dry meat. Luckily, there was a LOT of brisket so I fished around and cut a piece from the other end and wow... BUTTER! This was some of the juiciest brisket I've had. The fat rendered nicely and it was still meaty. SOOOO good. Yes, this good part was connected to the bad part. The $6 add on for the sausage was pretty good as well, as was the side of Mac n Cheese. With the add on, it's probably a shareable plate for most people, including me these days. Parking is limited as it's kind of in a neighborhood, and the Redbar itself has a locals, dive-bar vibe, which isn't a bad thing. Just something you should know! Cheap beers though!

The desserts were hit or miss, but that's to everyone's preference. What was noticeable, though, was that some tasted stale, maybe leftovers from yesterday? The fresh naan, though, was brought warm to the table and was buttery and delicious. But we were nearly done with our meal but the time we got it. On that note, service was practically non-existent. No one asked us if we wanted drinks, we weren't able to order anything special. It was buffet and water or nothing. No one came to check on us.
