The place is very small (with the very silly "stay 6 feet away from people" signs everywhere even though it's 2022). You order through a window that looks like it belongs in a gas station in a really bad neighborhood in Chicago. But I kept my mind open. I ordered the Szechuan Chicken. It looked appealing enough, with fresh and properly cut vegetables. I quickly noticed, however, that there were no dried red chilis to be seen in the dish. Any authentic Szechuan dish is going to have red chilis. Also no hint of Szechuan peppercorn numbness; this is another key ingredient to Szechuan sauces. The sauce was heavy and sweet. I asked for hot pepper sauce and was directed to the packets of pinkish "hot sauce" on a table. I think this is the first Chinese restaurant I've ever been in that did not have some form of the traditional Chinese chili oil. That stuff can make almost any dish at least tolerable. I suspect there is little difference between their "Szechuan" chicken and other chicken stir-fries here, even though there is a large one in reality. The taste was predictable - relatively bland, but decent enough. This is not authentic Szechuan food, but it's the kind of "Chinese" food that Americans want. I personally want real Chinese food when I want Chinese, so I won't be back. But three stars because this is the type of food that Americans like.

My car needed to be driven so the computer could relearn the car after a dead battery so it would perform correctly, I just drove with no where in particular to go and I found my self in an area that have not been to and since it was lunch time I looked on Yelp to see what's around. The shopping center that I stopped at had a 3.5 star Asian place so I stopped buy for lunch. The place is in a strip mall on the outer edge of the shopping center with plenty of parking. The place is clean and fresh looking with nice tablets and chairs, not the cafeteria crap with a nice tile floors. Like so many Asian place it's doing take out and the tables had one in use while I was there. The menu is the typical Asian cuisine with the prices being on the very reasonable side. There was a lunch combo menu with nothing more than $5.95 and I'm always a sucker for combo dishes so the old stand by Generals Tsos chicken with chicken fried rice and an egg roll would do. The food came hot and fast for the standard 10-15 will be ready line. You order at the counter/pay and take a seat and they bring you your food. The first thought was that the plastic take out containers are smaller here than I'm used to from other places and hot. The standard tiny crap egg roll lunch special version was what they give you, I hate those. The Generals Tsos chicken and fried rice didn't look bad. The fried rice was cooked perfect and not mushy with white meat chicken. The Tsos chicken was crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside covered in a thick super sweet sauce, that style. Overall this was just your average Asian place with nothing too bad but nothing spectacular which will not replace anyone's known great place, if your in the area stop in but it's not a destination place at all. It's an ok $6 lunch alternative for people like me who don't care for Mc Ds/BK and the others.

I don't care what anyone else says this is a great Asian restaurant. This is my go to spot. Its clean and family operated friendly people. I get egg foo young and orange chicken General Tso, mei fun ect. Its a great location by picknsave and target in a small plaza strip mall. Food is always hot and good and great lunch prices. Just take out right now and remember people it's kinda like fast food Chinese so its not going to be James Beard award gourmet but its decent food and its cheap and perfect for lunch. They have a large room devider between you and workers and a box they hand your food through they do have hand sanitizer as well.

This place is awesome. Some of the best asian food I've ever had. Taking excellent covid precautions, and very kind workers.

Tried for the first time. Good food and pretty quick. Fed nine people and everybody liked what they had. Will definitely be back!

The restaurant is in a tucked away strip mall and is modest in size and decor. The strip mall also contains hidden treasures like a Chinese bakery/BBQ and an Asian store. We went early on a Saturday evening with friends. The service was excellent, although with some staff there were language hurdles. No matter - everyone made it work and we were left with an abundance of amazing food at a reasonable price. Wine and beers are served, as well as smoothies and other non-alcoholic drinks. BF ordered crab rangoon as a starter, which was good. He liked it more than I did, but it was nice and crispy. I just didn't think it compared to other dishes. My vegetable egg roll was very good as well, but nothing terribly unique. He went bold on the entree and ordered the pork intestine and blood cake dish. He really enjoyed it and said it was quite spicy. The portions are generous and he did bring a lot home. I ordered the homestyle tofu, which normally has pork. I got it without to make it vegetarian friendly. The textures were very good and the sauce was intensely flavorful, but mild. I also ordered a supplementary dish of braised mushrooms and Shanghai greens. Everyone at the table enjoyed this dish, particularly the greens, which are a variety of bok choy, called pac choy. The mushrooms were wonderful, with the texture of wood ears. I also had plenty of leftovers to eat the next day. Our friends ordered the Szechuan spicy pork dumplings and they got rave reviews. My cousin did say they were not overly spicy. She went on to order the sizzling black pepper beef, which she said was good, but not nearly as unique or deeply flavored as the other dishes. Her husband ordered the pork intestine with clear noodles, which he enjoyed but said was extremely spicy. He did leave a lot of sauce behind since it was so hot. He also had the ox tendon and maw in spicy sauce, which came with chopped peanuts on top. He seemed really pleased with that dish. We agreed that we would happily go back to explore the menu more. Everything was excellent and I thought the prices were generally quite reasonable, especially for the quantity of food. I do wish the menu had more descriptive text, so I could familiarize myself with the dishes. The choices are many and overwhelming and the menu is huge. I'd also love to see a symbol for vegetarian options since it's very hard to know otherwise and many of the vegetable dishes included pork or other meat. As we left the restaurant was getting increasingly busy with people waiting by the door for seats. This is a popular place for good reason.

The Spicy Pork Dumplings have become my go-to appetizer, and the fried spring rolls are also very good. On a most recent visit, we ordered hot pot. Our server brought us the sheet to make our selections. You can choose from mild broth, spicy broth, or half tray of each. The spicy is pretty hot with lots of red chili peppers soaking in it, so I scooped out the chili peppers to keep rhe flavor but lessen the impact on my palate. For 2 guests, I recommend choosing 3 items from the list, maybe 2 protein and one veggie or 2 veggie and one protein to start. You can order more if you finish and need more. This is in addition to the two appetizers you will choose, which is included with rhe hot pot dinner. It's a great value! Sze Chuan remains on my short list of go-to's for Chinese dining, and I look forward to my next visit, whenever that may be.

HOT POT!! It's fun, you dunk the meats into the broth. If you like it spicy the hot side has some zing!!

NOTE: the pictures of the menu/prices on Yelp are VERY outdated. Some items may no longer be available, and the prices are higher, but fairly reasonable. This restaurant does a brisk phone/carryout business; however, there is a small dining area in the next room. In any case, you place your order at the counter and pay in advance. We were able to order the items we wanted; however, a few errors were made with my sister's order (Shrimp and Vegetables). Thankfully, she was able to pick out the vegetables she couldn't eat. She also ordered Crab Rangoon, and it was about average. My Shrimp Egg Foo Young was delicious. The portion size was generous, and I was able to take home more than half of the order. The Veggie Spring Rolls I ordered were small, but hot and crispy. I was disappointed that I did not receive the hot mustard that I requested, but there were other dipping sauces available, so I made do. Both of our meals came with our choice of white rice or fried rice, so we both chose the fried rice. We received our food quickly, and everything was piping hot. We both felt that they did a very good job with the food, despite the minor errors. I do believe that there may have been a slight communication issue due to language, but if you don't have a special request, you should do just fine. In any case, we both liked it enough to say that we would go back again. The restaurant is not fancy, but it's casual and welcoming. The lobby and dining area were clean, and the bathroom was clean, well stocked, and it smelled fresh.

The main courses are always good and the lunch specials are $10 for what I have had the last couple times which is slightly lower than other Chinese restaurants in the area but that didn't got me back so soon. Service is always friendly from the woman at the counter and I must be the only person who calls in my food order's because she for the second time walking in she knows what my order is before I can even say it. I love egg rolls since a little boy living in Chicago with an old school Chinese restaurant that just had the best around so I have spent my whole adult life seeking out egg rolls from all over and beef fried rice even driving 40 mile round trips. Ok is this the best egg rolls I have ever had, no the peanut butter egg rolls from the old school days were which have all but disappeared 99% from then to today because of nut allergies. A lot of Chinese restaurants have switched to small or cheap food service egg rolls over the years so the best part of Chinese food has went down hill over the years. Ok enough walking down memory lane from years past and let's get to the egg rolls, is it the best around in the Milwaukee area, no but it's probably the best in the 5 mile square area. I finally asked the lady why are your egg rolls so good compared to other restaurants with small mediocre egg rolls and she explained that they make them in house where we make them fresh homemade. Overall egg rolls can make or break a Chinese restaurant which is my favorite part of Chinese food and I think there egg rolls moved them to the top spot in the area with flavorful mains.

We also got the Hot & Sour soup (which we order at every Chinese takeout place) and theirs was spicier and oddly a lot thicker than normal. We also got the Mongolian Beef and General Tso's Chicken - very standard. I can't speak to dining in, but they were quick & polite on the phone and estimated 30 minutes for our food to be ready.

I thought today that I would visit my old friend and even though I have been around the world with the menu that dam general Taos chicken dinner combination is my favorite. The general Taos chicken combination comes with chicken fried rice and an egg roll. The chicken is always big moist chunks of tender velveted chicken which I can't tell if it's white or dark meat because of the velveting process but I like it. The egg roll isn't the tiny ones that became the norm over the years and it's super average like 95 % of Asian restaurants now, not like years past when the egg roll was a signature staple in Asian restaurants and they made really good ones. The combination chicken fried rice is that kind you find on most combination menus, not the main dish dark fried rice full of meat and veggies but just enough to accompany the main dish. Overall it's tasty enough and better than the average neighborhood Chinese restaurant and for a dinner combination that was 2 1/2 pounds of food for $13.50, price vs quality vs taste it's a winner.
