I have this place bookmarked for a while because of the 4 stars that they have so I stopped by for lunch today. This is the typical Asian take out place with a small dining room and no one in the place like most of them, how do all these empty Asian places stay in business. The menu has all the regulars and I would do my combo plate thing to get the fried rice and egg roll. I had the garlic beef with chicken fried rice and pork egg roll. The pork egg looked promising because it was not the mini one and more like a full size one. The pork egg roll was golden/crispy brown with not much pork in it, more like specs of pork and not much flavor so super average at best. The chicken fried rice is just that, a few scraps of chicken and rice only, nothing else and in desperate need of soy sauce for flavor. The garlic beef also had no big garlic flavor to it and if I didn't better I would have guessed beef and vegetables if I was blind folded. All the food was cooked to order hot and the vegetables were cooked nice with some crunch left in them thank you. I have eaten at a lot of Asian restaurants and I'm scratching my head at the 4 stars here because I was under impressed with my lunch today. I thought my taste buds were broken today because my lunch was not that Asian flavorful kind and bland.

Meh this is a pretty standard Chinese joint. It definitely is in an odd location. The food itself seemed to be made fresh to order, which I definitely appreciated. We ordered pork lo mien, general tso chicken, egg rolls and the boneless spare rib combo platter. The fried rice and lo mien were run of the mill. Lacking some in flavor. The boneless spare ribs weren't tender at all, which is what I look for. However the sauce was on point, so I enjoyed it none-the-less. The egg rolls and GT chicken were probably my favorite part of the meal. I have nothing else to compare this place to in the MKE area, so I don't know how it's rated next to other places. But prices were on point as well, so I'd definitely be willing to try this place again. My gf and I only ever order Chinese food once in a blue moon when we're craving really fatty food, so it won't be for a while. Place was clean and the lady was super friendly. Kids were hanging out in the dinning room and no one was there when I went.

I like this place. Its conveniently close to me and they are quick and family operated friendly people. I know the inside isn't the greatest to look at but most come for takeout. I had the sweet and sour shrimp I mean geez these shrimp in the coating they are huge!! You get 5 with a container of sweet and sour sauce and either white rice or fried rice this is one of many lunch specials and they have combinations also. I get the house mei fun noodles or the egg foo young I switch things up sometimes and for what I've had has been good. They have a Partition infront of cashier area for good separation from customers and workers.

I don't get all the reviews with three stars that use the word, meh. First off this place is better than, meh. Second, meh, is in the definition of a two star review. To be clear, this place is better than a two star Americanized Chinese take out joint. It's really A-OK and maybe your best choice on this side of the Milwaukee area. Location is excellent, right off of I-94 College exit, west. In a strip mall with easy parking, they have three dedicated spots right in front of the door. It's very clean and bright. No one seems to sit and eat here so I find it a peaceful place to eat lunch by myself. The various lunch combinations are reasonable, under $10 and the white rice is always fresh. I like the egg foo yung but any of the Chinese-American common dishes are pretty good. Like all of the take out Chinese American joints, this one packages in a lot of wasteful polystyrene and plastic with too many of those deadly condiment packages, plastic straws. Unlike the other take-out Chinese American joints, they always get my order right. Getting back to the use of the word, meh, in reviews. It's an expression that has two meanings and in the context of a restaurant evaluation I suppose it's the use of the word that means mediocrity or not impressive. Etymologically, this is the earlier use of the word first found in print in the 1990s, so maybe a Gen X word. The more common 21st century use of the word relates a sense of indifference, expressing that the writer or speaker just doesn't really care. Maybe a more Millennial use of, meh. There are definitely restaurants that are both underwhelming and the owners don't seem to care, those are the restaurants that deserve two stars, right? Or maybe you are thinking, "Meh, this guy writes too much." Well in that case, I deserve a two star review.

Just average to below average food. Got wings and they were all flats, no drums. The lo mein was so so.

Hot Sour Soup tasted like vinegar. The Steamed Dumplings had a bad after taste and the Lobster in Shrimp Sauce was like water.

Plenty of space for parking in the back. Dark, smoky atmosphere with Asian interior designs. Perfect ambiance for BBQ! We had both Korean BBQ & hot pot, absolutely worth the price for both. The BBQ was by far everyone's favorite. We recommend the beef bulgogi, beef short ribs, and pork belly--these were the best for BBQ. Since it was all you can eat, we had a few servings of them. There was also a counter for different types of sauce one could get and a dessert section. The hot pot was great as well. We recommend the bone broth and the fish/shrimp/meatballs with it as well as udon noodles. The service was great overall. Our server was busy, but she managed to be attentive with us. We left with our belly full. We will absolutely come back.

I have ordered squid, but the dish ended up feeling more like a hotpot squid and no flavor, It was also a different kind of squid than I expected. We also order the brown rice cake, but had an dirty oily taste, like it may have been cooked in the same oil as fries, bubble tea inside is jello, I prefer boba. I hope the restaurant can improve this. The price is reasonable. I enjoyed the pork belly and the fries were good. Overall, it was okay, nothing too bad, but nothing amazing either.

We were told it gets busy for dinner right away and with no reservations we decided to go right at dinner opening time. There was a line forming outside the door before they opened but luckily we were second in line and got seated right away. The staff is very friendly. They check on you often without rushing. Multiple people greeted us and then thanked us on the way out. All of their sushi options sounded delicious. I got the Very Crunchy. It was served with a fun presentation over dried ice. The sushi itself tasted amazing, even though sushi isn't my favorite. I got the Pad Thai for an entree and I honestly think it's some of the best Pad Thai I've had in a while in Milwaukee. The sauce to noodle ratio was spot on and the flavor was perfect with the right amount of spice. Portions were great as well. Overall, definitely make sure to stop by!

We came after visiting one of the nearby breweries. We were seated right away at the bar. I had a glass of the Black River sake and my boyfriend tried the Blossom of Peace. His was much sweeter and I was very happy with mine. They weren't served in traditional sake cups, just in regular wine glasses but this was good with me as they were a normal sized wine pour. They had a special for Bluefin Tuna. We shared the Nigiri trio by cutting each piece in half. My favorites were the two fattier cuts ( otoro, and chutoro ) I remember at this point we wished we had ordered another appetizer since the restaurant was busy and our main sushi rolls took a bit of time to arrive. We decided next time we would at least get the edamame in between plates. The rolls we ordered were the Ponzu Jello and Riverwest. The Riverwest description listed a smoky miso mayo which I did not notice a different from regular flavored mayo on a roll. The Ponzu Jello was unique and worth trying! The rolls were fat and very filling so we did not need to order more than two! I think we both agreed that the Riverwest roll was our favorite of the two. After that we noticed there was a special for some premium sake, so we ordered the G Joy. Very delicious, easy to drink and a perfect size to share.
