We order from this place a lot and I'll say most of the time it's good . However, most of the time we order Singapore noodles . My bad review is we ordered chop Suey and magnolia beef and they were both rubbery and grizzly. We called for it being replaced and they wouldn't do anything about it. We told them we could even show them. It was all fatty and nasty. So yeah. Cant order from a place that doesn't have integrity. Amy tried to make it right , when we called about the first order being messed up. Somebody in the background was even yelling , they asked if the chop Suey was the same. Family-owned, well-executed, guilty pleasure--this spot is my newest favorite spot for takeout. It's new and hard to notice, but this place can compete with the best for Chinese food. I can say that they've been extremely consistent and seems much better than your typical Sysco-quality food chain. I took a picture of the orange chicken my wife got. The sauce is what I consider to be exactly right: thick without being overbearing, hints of orange without being overwhelming, and has the right balance of spicy and sweet without being a sugar bomb. And the chicken is of a higher quality than other places I've tried around. Aside from that, the place wouldn't be a great sit-in place since there's not a ton of seating. They've taken some good COVID measures. And since they're still one of the best new secrets, the wait is 20 min or less to pickup your order! read more

BE CAREFULL. This restaurant may have new owners because the food has gotten poor. Cook doesn't know how to make Kung Pao chicken and person putting orders together for takeout doesn't know the difference between chicken with broccoli and some kind of spicy chicken with no broccoli. On the Kung Pao, it used to have nice small pieces (dime size) of tender chicken. This chicken is very small pieces of something that is hard and over cooked. Past cook used to put 4 or 5 peppers in the Kung Pao either whole or half at the smallest. This cook put all small pieces throughout so any fork full you take may burn your mouth. We have ordered 2 o3 times a month from here for years (before they changed store fronts) and never had such bad food as we got Sunday. read more

I went here for lunch on my quest to try new places. It's in the coroner of a strip mall. The place was empty and my order came quick. The interior was cheesy asian, see my pictures. There was a few tables if you wanted to eat there. I ordered the shrimp rolls and Hunan beef. The shrimp rolls were greasy and just average. The Hunan beef is beef with vegetables in a brown sauce. The vegetables had the crisp cooked out of them like so many places do. Overall this was just your average Chinese place that is not bad but nothing to wow you. read more

We have ordered from New Number 1 several times and it seems to be hit or miss. We order delivery and generally the same menu items each time. The first time we ordered, we thought the food was really fresh, good and the delivery time was within about 40 mins, which was acceptable. In the times since our first order, the food has been really fresh and great or overly salty, saucy, and tasted old, like it has been sitting around for some time. Also, the delivery has been really quick, within 40 mins and other times, over an hour, tonight it took an hour and a half to arrive. When they hit, everything is great, the delivery time great, the food is hot, fresh and good. When they miss, they really do miss. read more

We just moved into the area and I tried it twice. Never again. There is another Number 1 Chinese in town that delivered to our old house, and we were hoping this was the same group of people. The food is edible, but... both times we ordered here, something was wrong with the order. We didn't complain the first time, we did complain the second time and they were good at replacing the wrong order, however... the food just isn't GOOD. It's not bad but - it was bland, weirdly under or over salted on everything, way too much sauce so that everything that was supposed to be crispy was soggy- it just wasn't very nice. I wanted to like it since it's walking distance to my new house, but... for the same amount of money there are much better places to eat nearby, I just have to get into my car. Ordered delivery on a Sunday evening because we were too lazy to cook and/or go out to eat. The crab rangoon triangles were delicious, and edged out the sweet & sour chicken/pork mix I ordered. I realize that was my fault though as I'm not a huge pork fan and should have just stayed with the chicken in the first place. Loved the fact out delivery person bowed several times when he dropped off our food. Now that's authentic, even if it may have only been an act. I actually logged into Yelp for the first time in probably a year to write my review about how unsatisfied I was with this experience. I am a simple man, I like woman with dark hair and Chinese food. Since I moved out of my parents house a few years back to explore the wonders of adulthood and living on my own my expectations of food have dropped significantly now that I live on things that I can make for as little money as possible so I have eaten a lot of questionable things. That being said this is the worst Chinese food I have ever had. I figured since I'm trying a new place I'll play it safe and go with the lunch special of Sesame "Chicken". The sauce was mediocre at best, the chicken was abysmal I actually broke one piece open to examine what I was eating and a I'm not even sure I saw any chicken inside. The chicken in a McNugget was more conniving of real meat. It took about 45 minutes to get here (i'm used to for chinese) but the food was lukewarm at best when I got it and the chicken was stale and inedible. I also ordered crab rangoons which were so soggy and miserable I could not finish them and ended up throwing away 1/2 of my 15 dollar meal. I believe with 10 dollars and a barrel fire I could have made better food. The only thing edible was the fried rice which was still like a 4/10 Usually I give people the benefit of the doubt but I was feeling really good today and after tipping about 30% I asked for chopsticks and to make my order extra spicy and they didn't do any of that and I was kind of insulted. After moving to the area almost a year and a half ago, we still haven't found "THE" Chinese place. After getting a menu in the mail, we figured we would try something different. Ordering online was great (I'm lazy and I really hate picking up the phone after a long day of work). Delivery was at the promised time, although it was about an hour between ordering time and delivery. We did order during peak dinner time during the week though, so I can't be too upset with that. Food was pretty tasty. Still not the best Chinese food I've ever had, but pretty good. I would have liked to have something more than just sauce for my sweet and sour chicken. My husband had orange chicken which he said was tasty, but once again not his favorite food. Decent food but less-than-stellar service. This is fast food Chinese and it's fine; nothing to write home about but the portions are large and it has decent (albeit MSG laden) flavor. The service, however, left me less than satisfied. I ordered delivery and upon arrival at my building the delivery man called me rather than ringing the buzzer as instructed. He then proceeded to demand I come down to the lobby from my third floor apartment to take my food (nope, not kidding). They have online ordering and plenty of good coupons online but if you use a coupon you need to call the restaurant to have it applied (strange system I know!). Little did we know the food was an even bigger disappointment. my husband ordered "Sweet Sour Chicken", nothing good about it, no pineapple, or green pepper in the sauce. I have no idea if they put tomatoe in the sauce I requested no tomatoe...the sauce tasted like plain bottled sauce from a grocery store. If that wasn't bad enough, I ordered "Chicken Lo Mein"...It was a container of fat spaghetti type noodles (not flat lo mein noodles) with a couple of pieces of chicken but the only vegetables in it were celery, carrot slivers, green onion and ONIONS..OMG, a whole ton of onions. Over half of the container contained ONIONS... Where's the pea pods, bokchoy, water chestnuts???....I had to call and complain it was really that bad....they needed to know, but the biggest disappointment was we were never even offered IF WE would like to order something else, or refund the money or part of it. The crab rangoons appear homemade with good flavor. The lemon chicken is gluttonous as it is fried with no vegetables, but the chicken tastes fresh and tender. Definitely recommended. I like how they gave the lemon sauce on the side, so the chicken remained crispy. The sauce is very good.
