Duck Curry
Katrina M.

So loud. Was very hard to talk to my partner sitting across the table from me because neither of us could hear each other well. Maybe a different area within the restaurant might be better? Perhaps it was that we were tucked away towards the left corner and noise just carried into the area - no idea. But for me it was less enjoyable as I didn't feel relaxed or able to talk to my partner. Mango sakenori cocktail is okay. Really it tastes good, very mango-y but I'm not feeling like it's worth $12. I guess if returning I probably wouldn't go with a cocktail again. Maybe try their sake or just have water or a light beer like Sapporo. Our Edamame was extremely salty. Veggie sushi roll, good, but fell apart while eating it so not a very tight roll. I think I'd prefer to eat rolls at the nearby sushi spots I've tried in the past before ever getting them here again. I do understand that sushi is not their primary focus here so maybe I should have known I wouldn't be impressed. Seafood Lover was a good amount of food and could be shared. I wasn't into the sauce much but did enjoy the veggies, scallops, and shrimp in it. My partner had the Duck Curry and I thought that was very good!!!! He also said in the past he has eaten the Singapore Noodles and really loved them! Overall I was excited to try this place but found it a bit disappointing. Maybe I'd come back for some appetizers, soup or salad but that would be it. The host and our server were very nice though and accommodating.

The staff was super friendly and checked on us often while also letting us enjoy our visit. The food was delicous. I ordered the duck curry and it was to die for. I did find a small chunk of bone in the duck meat that threw me off, that being said props to the chef for having knives sharp enough to cut through bone without noticing. Will be back next time I stay at the hotel and gamble @ the casino. They also had fun art on the walls!

We were super impressed by this place. I think we had low expectations for a casino restaurant but everything was great. I loved the panko shrimp appetizer & the little chips they serve. Super unique. I ordered the Korean Wok Ramen which was good - I think I prefer ramen as we know it but the flavor was still great. The best thing we got was the surf & turf fried rice. Steak and lobster was perfect and the omelette was to die for. The service was great, our waitress has worked there for years and was very knowledgeable. Lost all my money on the slots afterwards, though!

Greeting you outside the restaurant

Came here to celebrate my nephew's birthday and the food and service was amazing! Large portions too, great for sharing. The Thai-Tini was so unique and delicious. Can't wait to come back and try more!

I honestly hate to change a rating this dramatically. I have tried a couple of times before writing this update and this is not the same place when it reopened. The menu shrunk like many places which is not bad - limited menus make typically for better service and cost conservation for the restaurant. I was not really hungry so I got what used to be one of the best egg drop soups in the area along with the potstickers. After I placed the order I realized they never asked me if I wanted the potstickers steamed or pan-fried. I quickly got the order changed to pan-fried. I watched after the kitchen filled all of the to-go orders way before they took care of the people dining in. I waited over 40 minutes for the food which honestly wasn't good. The egg drop soup consistency was way off. It was almost chunky with egg and lacked flavor. I didn't finish the soup and nobody even asked me if there was an issue. The potstickers were fried but they lacked flavor just like the soup. The dipping sauce was needed to make them taste okay. The to-go menu is VERY limited and if you want to order from the regular menu and take out they upcharge 15%. The new to-go application is way too limited but on the plus side they will get you your food way before people dining in at the restaurant. This was one of the best restaurants for Chinese in the city but it is no longer. Hopefully they take the feedback and get back to the amazing restaurant it was a couple of years ago.

bar area. Thai wings. Potstickers.

Looking for a unique pan-Asian eatery experience? Look no further than Potowatami Casino. Yes, the casino. Please note: I've been to this restaurant a few times and it is very inconsistent in terms of food and service. Food: Looks amazing, but can be bland. Great portion sizes. Drinks include bubble tea, sake, speciality cocktails, wine, beer, and canned cocktails. Service: Needs improvement. Certainly a 'hit or miss' on the service, but I'd say mostly a miss. On my last visit, I sat at the bar and still received poor service. The two women on my right were upset that they waited 30 minutes without realizing it for a box and a gentleman to the left ordered an appetizer and drink. He received the drink and waited 25 mins for potstickers, but requested the manager and asked to pay for the drink so he could leave due to the wait time. It was ironic to have poor service when all the staff were in the bar area, though they were huddled there to sort out food that had been sitting a while as they confused which entrees go to which tables. Value: Great value for portion size. Can use player rewards/comp. Cleanliness/Restaurant itself: Small restaurant, but often busy. Kept fairly clean. Easy to locate. Location: Located on the lower level of Potowatomi Bingo Casino. 1721 W Canal St, Milwaukee, WI 53233 P: (414) 847-7335

Half crispy duck - very strong curry taste

Nice modern Japanese restaurant inside Potawatomi. The place is decently clean, the tables weren't straight and you can tell someone just got up with some food crumbs on the floor or seat. The food and pricing is fair compared to any other Asian restaurants around the area. Felt like the half duck was a little over priced otherwise no complaints about the food and taste. Nice size portions for sharing. The only complaint I'd have is the food wait time, longer than normal and had to ask for water.

I've never eaten at a restaurant inside a Casino before but RuYi surely did not disappoint for my first time! Depending on how busy the casino is, there is usually a line with a wait time but we did not have to wait long since it was a Tuesday evening. The ambiance of the restaurant is modern yet traditional and our waitress was very kind and attentive. I ordered the cashew stir fry which is a perfect option for vegetarians. It was extremely flavorful and hearty. My grandma ordered the sweet and sour chicken which was delicious. My mother ordered the kung pow chicken which was also great but on the spicier side. Our food came out fast and there are many options on the menu. I have had the shrimp fried rice before and definitely recommend that to anyone who is picky or not sure of what to order. I haven't been to any of the other restaurants in Potawatomi but i would highly recommend this one to anyone coming here to play! I would eat here again and definitely also recommend the locally sourced beer they have on the menu.

Have been here a number of times and always have a pretty good experience. Ruyi is a beautiful space inside Potawatomi, and the staff work hard to accommodate the constant flow of patrons. The food here is delicious, with the Chicken Fried Rice being large enough for two people to share. Their take on Egg Drop soup with fried wonton on top is interesting, and while the soup is good, I personally find the wonton unnecessary and distracting. There are a few good restaurants inside Potawatomi, and Ruyi is definitely a great addition worth checking out.

I was initially reluctant based on some reviews, but after 4 visits I am becoming a regular! Service has been exceptional, in particular at the bar. Quality of the chicken has improved, beef for me is tough and I stay away. You can bring drinks from the casino in which I appreciate. I fell like they are trending up in food quality and we have enjoyed our past few visits after a disappointing first trip.

The quality of food is there! Love how hot and fresh my meal was. They were definitely busy but servers were very attentive! Make sure you ask before you order if their credit card machine is working because I think when they are busy it doesn't work because that is what happened to me the night I was there. Not much else to really say because their food is ALWAYS good! Side Note- They're actually open later than what's stated on google, Yelp and other internet sites!

Good food. Service is good. Kinda small space. The price isn't bad for a casino either.

Plenty of space for parking in the back. Dark, smoky atmosphere with Asian interior designs. Perfect ambiance for BBQ! We had both Korean BBQ & hot pot, absolutely worth the price for both. The BBQ was by far everyone's favorite. We recommend the beef bulgogi, beef short ribs, and pork belly--these were the best for BBQ. Since it was all you can eat, we had a few servings of them. There was also a counter for different types of sauce one could get and a dessert section. The hot pot was great as well. We recommend the bone broth and the fish/shrimp/meatballs with it as well as udon noodles. The service was great overall. Our server was busy, but she managed to be attentive with us. We left with our belly full. We will absolutely come back.

We ordered the bulgogi, steak cubes, pork belly, spicy pork belly, beef tongue, rib meat, shrimp, creamy corn, fried buns, and a few other smaller items. The meat was all good quality! Our tables' favorite meat was the bulgogi for sure. We also loved the creamy corn and fried buns. However, beef tongue was so tough though I couldn't even bite into it (but honestly wasn't expecting to enjoy it!). The sauce bar was a fun touch to get exactly what we each liked. It was a little tricky being in a booth and getting people out to make their sauce combos though but we made it work. There is also a dessert bar but nothing was super intriguing to us and we were pretty full from the meal. The only downside was the service. Other servers seemed awesome but our waitress was totally aloof. She missed multiple orders of ours and we had to reorder those, and she acted super confused each time we had to tell her. She didn't give any direction on the process, and each time we wanted to add to the order we had to wave her down. I don't think she proactively checked on us once. A table nearby had the hotpot and that looked really good. We were intrigued and want to come back and try it. All in all, a great experience, and $31 per person for the amount of food you can rack up felt like a really good deal.

The staff is always very nice and if they are busy for some reason, they even have kiosks to order from as well. I'm Korean and love me some Korean fried chicken wings, but going here means I do not have to make them, make a mess in my kitchen, or have to spend time prepping everything beforehand. Yes, I know these are Karaage but they are very similar. I usually get the boneless wings just because I am weird and do not like having sticky fingers when I am eating, so these I can eat with a fork. The crispiness is always spot-on and I love that they give you just enough sauce to give everything a good coat and flavor but not too much that the chicken is drowning. I also really love the rice cakes that they add into the tenders and wings, it's like a nice little chewy treat to go with everything. Their fries are a LOT of fries! My wife and I have learned we can share one order of them. They have a bunch of varieties of seasonings you can add to the fries but I tend to get mine plain and just eat it with ketchup. I love coming here and their little outdoor patio is great when I want to bring my pup or just enjoy the nice fresh air as we eat our meal.
