    Chicken pot pie

The value is great! Our food and drinks were very good, the flaky crust on the pot pie was gorgeous. My salad was big enough for dinner and lunch and the prices were reasonable. We had a nice bartender (eating at the bar, per usual).

We had attended a funeral earlier in the day. The after dinner get together was at the open flame. When we arrived at our table, there was a plate of olive oil and a bread basket with delicious soft bread arrived shortly after for us to dunk in. We had four choices for our dinner entrée. All of them sounded, and when they arrived at the dinner table, they looked and smelled absolutely delicious. I chose the wood smoked Greek chicken. It had such good lemony flavor, but not overpowering and I love the grill marks with a hint of smoke to it. It was served with garlic, red mashed potatoes absolutely delicious and roasted carrots and broccoli again absolutely delicious. We also had a salad and it was huge. the vegetables were all completely crunchy and fresh. Our waitress who helped all of us again for a funeral setting was very sweet and caring. I forgot her name, but I believe she went above and beyond our needs.

Warm bread with dipping sauce and butter

My financial advisor holds a ladies luncheon every year in February, for Valentines Day for his female clients. After a couple years and some staff changes in the office we resumed having it at the Open Flame. I think there was about 20 of us this year and they put us in a side room with a dedicated waitress and everything was perfect. The private space, the waitress, the food, everything were above par. They do serve breakfast all day, plus lunch and dinner menus. They even serve drinks and several ladies imbibed on Bloody Mary's and wine. I just had a diet pepsi and free refills were included. Soups of the day were a cream of spinach and chicken dumpling. They started us out with warm bread baskets and that was served with butter or an olive oil dipping sauce, the bread was very good but I only had 1 piece. Who wants to get full on bread when you have 2 more courses coming, right! I chose the cream of spinach soup and it was very creamy and delicious. For my entree I chose the chicken marsala. Served with a crab cake, garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. I tried to finish it all but just couldn't do it. I will return soon to try the breakfast because some at the table had waffles and stuffed french toasts and they they looked amazing as well

Ok I'm done with this restaurant because my last two orders were messed up and today's order was seriously messed up. I called in for takeout and I wanted the Philly cheesesteak that comes with Swiss cheese and I ask the guy who took my order if I could have American cheese because I tell him that I hate Swiss cheese and he says yes. I also ask for mayo, lettuce, tomato and onion. When I get my food home and looked at it it has Swiss cheese which I explained to him that I hate. I look closer at the sandwich and it's only lettuce and tomato with no onions or mayo and the receipt states mayo but he didn't put the onions in my request that I specifically asked for, yeah maybe he thought that the grilled onions which comes on the sandwich was enough but as a restaurant you can't put 2 and 2 together that I'm asking for fresh burger toppings, guess not. Seriously how do you as an established restaurant completely F up a simple sandwich request and at the $21.43 price point for a sandwich with frys I expect a correctly made sandwich when I could have went to any fast food restaurant and got a sandwich and frys for half that price. What a complete fail, swing and a miss.

The server seemed like he didn't want to be there. The food was ok but my chicken pot pie was very greasy. My partner's steak was dry and vegetables were over cooked. Overall probably won't try this place again.

Pecan Encrusted Sea Bass with asparagus and red potatoes

Stopped in Saturday evening around 6 and it was packed! We were seated quickly but waited almost 10 minutes before a server acknowledged us, but once he did he was on it. We could see they were understaffed for the amount of business so we gave some grace. Our server brought bread right away and took our order quickly. The bread was fresh and hot from oven, delicious. My husband has the pecan crusted sea bass with roasted red potatoes with a salad. He said it was very good and cooked perfectly. His salad was fresh and good portion size. I had the cashew chicken schnitzel with mashed potatoes and the chicken was divine! The arugula, tomato's and cream sauce on it was perfect addition, only complaint was my potato's were cold. My daughter had the jumbo corn dog with fries and she enjoyed. Our meal was very reasonably priced; we were very pleased and will return again.

I really liked the decor of the restaurant. Something to note - because the space is so open it is very loud in there and hard to have a conversation. We arrived around 9:00 a.m. and while the lot was pretty full, we were able to find a spot open to park fairly quickly. We were seated right away and served ice water and cream puffs. The staff were friendly and took our drink order right away. It took us a while to decide on what to get but once we did our food came out really quickly. There is the restaurant on the first floor, and an event space on the second floor. Made 6:30 reservations for Wednesday for 4, and got right in. Had a table by the large windows that look for the patio and lake. Very pretty spot. Got greeted immediately by our server, who did a great job the entire evening. (thanks Laura). Got us water, took our drink order, along with an order for Onion Rings. The onion rings didn't take long, and they were excellent. Crispy with an interesting texture, hot, and served with a side of ranch (could have used more of that). The drinks were good, with the exception of one glass of a beer flight which was super flat, and was happily replaced by the server. For entrees we got: BLT, Blacked Fish Tacos (with extra bacon), Pesto Encrusted Salmon, and Salmon Power Salad. A note about the Pesto "Encrusted" Salmon. It's not really "encrusted", more like a scoop of pesto placed on top of the Salmon, and they finished under a broiler? Good but not what was expected. Didn't take that long for the food to arrive. It was all very good. The tacos were fresh, great flavor and hot. The fries that came with it, were NOT as not as I would like. Both grilled salmon entrees were also very good. The Power Bowl was excellent, with lots of fresh greens and other yummy add ins (goat cheese, blueberries, etc) A very good evening, with the exception of a couple of small hiccups.

Coffee is now ubiquitous with daily life in America, which brings me to Qamaria Coffee. Hatem and Munif are two Yemeni entrepreneurs with a passion for Yemeni Coffee and the joint goal of wanting to share it with the world. They founded Qamaria Coffee in 2019 to accomplish this task and in January 2024, they opened a location near Milwaukee in Greenfield, WI. Qamaria offers a variety of dessert options, including a Chocolate Tres Leches, Pistachio Tres Leches, and Caramel Tres Leches cakes. I went with the caramel version, which is described by the cafe as "A decadent caramel treat inspired by tres leches cake, creamy, sweet, and irresistibly smooth". If you've never had Tres Leches Cake, it's a light sponge cake soaked in three types of milk (evaporated, condensed, and whole) that's popular in Latin America. The cake originated in Nicaragua during the 19th century, so on first glance it's not exactly a Yemeni dessert. Doing some research, Middle Eastern variations exist that feature cardamom or rose water and some Qamaria locations do have a Rose Tres Leches. It's fine that the Greenfield location did not have that variety as I honestly would have got the caramel version anyway. My slice was perfectly moist as there was plenty of milk soaked in, but not so much that it made a mess or compromised the structure of the cake. The bottom layer was soft and Tiramisu-like in texture, while the cream on top was rich and thick. Personally, I found the caramel flavor to be mild, but delicious. As it is served chilled, it paired nicely with a hot cup of coffee (which they have a plethora of options to choose from). Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews
