Good afternoon everyone. We're good customers there for 28 years. A couple of months ago ee we're coming back from Nashville Tennessee from our shows we had and thought we could stop by for some dinner. We were treated like dirt when we came in and Renee was suppose to sit us down. She said go find your own seat and never came by to rake our order. A hold on one second there. Karin came by to take our order Yhen Renee came by and started cutting us down and called us a lair sndbtold us never to come back there. The food is hit or miss. Sometimes it's okay and sometimes it's not. My spouse likes their breakfast. Me, not so much. I like the chicken dumpling soup when they don't saturate it with salt. They have good homemade bread that's wonderful with the soup. I've tried many items over the years and frankly it's a step above nursing home food. Service is hit or miss. Sometimes they're nice and sometimes not. The restaurant hasn't been updated since the turn of the century. It's old and worn. This is a local restaurant where the old ladies meet and can have unlimited coffee and no one bugs them to leave. They have a fabulous cupcake tho. read more

Chicken parm is phenomenal, my partner had the Alfredo pasta. Only had the Broasted chicken as takeout in the past. Don't let outside turn you away it's a retro vibe and booster seats for your kids. Everyone is welcome. Waitress was friendly and got us our dinner in less than 20 minutes. read more

I'm an early breakfast person, 7am ish and this is probably the last of my bookmarks in the greater Milwaukee area for the 7am breakfast since I have been to most all of them over the years so I stopped by. The place looked pretty dumpy as I pulled in but to my surprise it was nice and bright with lots of live plants inside to off set that it's dated, old Greek classic place. It's big with a bar and baked sweets case as you walk in to to entice you into a nice looking slice of cake. The menu is weird because the specials are some menu items minus potatoes at a lesser price. I was in the mood for sausage patties but none of the breakfast plates came with patties so I asked and they had them and they did so I got the eggs, hash browns, patties and toast. The toast was just the three generic options and nothing better. My breakfast came in minutes and looked good. The white toast was not the cheap white generic I noticed but Turano homestyle, big and dense buttered well and you can buy a loaf on your way out. The sausage patties were the good/thick tasty kind not cooked to death and juicy, not the thin bland style, thank you. The eggs were perfect sunny side up with the nice runny yoke. The hash browns were the perfect golden/crispy outside with the soft center. This was a solid breakfast and the only thing that could have made it any better would have been a sourdough toast option. This place is a solid breakfast spot and better than average with the quality of the food, the sausage patties and toast. Our visit Saturday morning (11 May) was almost a solid visit, 4.5+ if I could rate our meals and service. I cannot recall the servers name but she was very good and attentive for the most part. Coffee refills were spot on as they had a rover with a coffee pot to make sure everyone had a fresh cup of coffee. However I did not order coffee and would have preferred the water refills on the same level of commitment -- only gripe, otherwise it would have been a solid 5 rating. Again in my reviews I am sucker for biscuits and gravy and these were good and it was hard to tell if the gravy was from a can, from scratch or doctored up from a premix to make them pretty decent. Anyway, I would order this again. With my order you also receive hash browns (I like them a little crunchy or well done), sausage patties and really nicely done scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese added. My wife ordered their two eggs, hash browns, bacon and toast. It does sound like a lot of food and this place does not hold back on the portion size. She received about 5/6 pieces of bacon which is a lot and welcomed as I ate most of them, yum. She really loved the toast, as I think it is all in-house made, nothing like fresh bread. Our breakfast companions order the kitchen fried steak and scrambled eggs and the other ordered their meat lover's omelet, each with toast and hash browns. Every item looked good and were well received, as the was quiet, good sign. Our companions have been here multiple times for breakfast and had nothing but good things to say about Family Table. We will back for sure as it is just a 10 minute drive from our home and the price to menu offering will not break a family's wallet. Give them a try. read more

Bright spacious Greek restaurant indeed. Mauve seats with floral pattern check. large brass lighting. or railing made of brass. Live hanging green plants, check. Verdigris table with glossy oak trim check. large tables for plenty of food. check. large comfy booth with flat panel TVs check, check. Desert counter filed with pies puffs and cookies. check. Came in on a Tuesday around 6:00 plenty of parking and we were quickly seated. Waitress came introduced herself and took drink orders. delivering bread basket with crackers, while we reviewed the menu. The menus are large and easy to read. We ordered Turkey club and two Gyro platters. the dinners came with soup, coleslaw and fries and a whole pickle. The food came right after our hot soups. These were thick hearty soups with plenty of meat. Mine was beef and barley, and the other two were chicken dumpling. The waitress checked on us plenty. Overall a very good value in a relaxed setting not to loud and we the Onion rings and fries were excellent and large enough for 4 people share. And as usual with a Greek style restaurant, we had plenty to eat and left overs to carry out for later. read more

The building itself is nothing to look at, if you're just passing by and there weren't any cars you may think they're shut down - the paint is very weathered and the sign is faded and looked a bit broken. I noticed they had added small ramps for accessibility (no automatic door, though) and the staff asked everyone (regardless of age) if they were okay to go up the stairs, which I thought was very considerate. We sat along one of the perimeter walls, all of which are huge windows. I noticed they had a lot of plants, however none were flowering so it shouldn't agitate anyone's allergies. The whole place was very clean and the staff was incredibly nice. The menu is quite large with a variety of types of foods. I feel it's the kind of place where they're okay at making a lot of things and seemingly not great at any one thing or category. Our food took about 20 minutes to come out so it was a long wait. I ordered soup which came with some great fresh - homemade bread. Overall I wouldn't go out of my way to stop here, but if I was in the area I would pop in for lunch if I didn't have anywhere to be for awhile. read more

The Family Table Restaurant is wonderful. They have a huge menu and everything on it is delicious. The atmosphere is friendly and your coffee cup or glass of iced tea is never empty. We just found this place about 2 weeks ago and it is fast becoming our favorite. As my husband says, if you can't find something you aren't hungry. Everything I have had from Gyros to Chicken Breast Salad was wonderful and very large portions, I always have as much to take home as I've eaten. Two meals for one. Love this place. I feel comfortable taking my grandsons there. They don't seem to mind young children there.

They just accommodated 45 of us and had us out in an hour 1/2! Great food and service. The Greek Chicken was awesome!

This is my local go to place whether dining in or taking out. They bake their own bread and make their own desserts in house. Yesterday I had the crab meat stuffed avocado with coleslaw cottage cheese and lots of fresh fruit. Enough for two meals. Staff has always been great. read more

We were invited here for dinner on a Sunday afternoon. Our group had about 16-20 people. With a group that sized I would have expected any waitstaff to have a panic attack, but they were fantastic. They kept pushing more and more tables together for us as the group kept growing. Our server was very patient with everyone and provided excellent service. We didn't have to wait too long for our food which I was really impressed by. The most popular item at our table was the chicken and waffles; they were awesome. I can't believe I've never had them together before! The outside of the restaurant is pink, really light pink. It's an odd color choice. But inside it's really bright and airy. The atmosphere reminds me of a beloved restaurant up north. Great options on the menu. It was neat they actually had a bar in there, I didn't get an adult beverage this time but maybe the next time I go here I'll try one of their mixed drinks. Don't let outside fool you! My husband and I came here for breakfast the food was delicious. We ordered the vegetable skillet and chicken skillet with choice of toast or one large pancake. I ordered a side of Cinnamon French toast it was fluffy and crisp on the outside. The maple syrup was nice and hot to pour over the pancakes and French toast. The skillets were hot and well put together. My husband liked the chicken it was nice bite size not cubed and fresh. Our waitress Jenny was very nice and the food came out quick, less than 10 minutes of ordering. There is a table attendant that walks around asking if you want coffee refills every 5 minutes or so, this was nice. This is a great place for breakfast!! read more

Ok... the food was just okay for me. I had a salad with grilled chicken. It seems like the kind of place you'd go to after a night of drinking... although I think they close at 10. The fruit on the salad tasted fresh which included strawberries, pineapples, tangerines and avocado. There were also pecans. The Pink Palace?? Is that what they call this place? Well I,for one, don't care what it's called as long as it keeps the coffee hot and fresh and the eggs done just the way I like 'em!! We went for breakfast on Christmas morning and this place was hopping! I was warmly greeted at the door and shown to a booth by the front windows. Now know there is nothing fancy about this place. . . In fact the 80's are probably calling wanting the wood booths with the flower upholstery back, along with the brass lights and hanging plants!! But the hospitality shown to me by the owner as well as our server, Renee, was outstanding so who cares that the place is a little dated? It's all a part of the charm!! I ordered an omelet and my dining companion had the Eggs Benedict. Both came up quickly ( amazing since the place was so busy)!! The bacon on the side was perfectly cooked as were the main dishes. And know if you want a fruit cup rather than the potatoes they will substitute it out but know that the potatoes are pretty darn good! And the price? Just about $30 for 2 so it was a good deal as well. So don't let the color put you off stopping in. For this is one "pink palace" that is worth a trip!! read more

I'm so happy that I found this restaurant on a terrible work day. I went on a Wednesday where one of their specials was a corned beef with cabbage, red potatoes, and carrots. Being away for home let me tell you if reminded me of my southern roots. It tasted fantastic! The server was even kind enough to let us know that a dessert came FREE with that entree plus it came with a salad. They had fresh baked homemade bread ready for us along with water ready to go as soon as we got to the table. I also had the breaded zucchini appetizer with marinara and it tasted so delicious. Was craving Chicken n Waffles and Mad Rooster does not deliver so I tried this place, as it popped up in the GrubHub app when I searched for that dish. Typically, Chicken n waffles are essentially like 1 big item, usually a waffle and then on top of it chicken tenders and you eat it together. At this place is was more separate, like you ordered a waffle, and then also ordered a side of 2 pieces of regular chicken, not something where it is a combined dish that you can stack on top of eachother, drench in syrup and butter and eat...dissapointing. It should be called chicken pieces with a side of waffle or something. It was very regular, very plain, not bad by any means, but definitely not expected. They should maybe change their definition of chicken and waffles because this definitely just seems like a chicken meal they lazily tack on a waffle to. Chicken itself was pretty darn decent tho, I will say that! So not BAD, just not what EYE wanted/expected. read more

I have eaten at the Family Table Restaurant in Brown Deer Wisconsin since 1998 -- always with great service and good food. But my negative and racially-charged experience with the owner on Sunday, January 8, 2017 will mark my last visit. In December 2016, my breakfast order included a pork chop, lightly scrambled eggs with cheese. Unlike many years of good food, on that morning I retrieved a long strand of blonde hair out of my mouth as I ate the eggs. I called the owner over to inspect my gross find and he confirmed it was indeed hair and he took my breakfast off the bill. On Sunday I re-ordered the same breakfast but this time my pork chop was so overcooked, hard and dry, I had great difficulty cutting it with the steak knife. I again asked for the owner and my meal guest actually over heard him say as he approached our booth, "The complainer again!" I demonstrated in front of the owner, just how difficult it was to cut into the hard pork chop. Instead of offering an apology, the owner got visably agitated and then sarcastically asked me what did I want him to do? Still NO apology. No offer to cook another chop -- and wait another 10-15 minutes. Shocked by the owner's cavalier attitude, I said nothing and that I did NOT want to be charged for the dry pork chop but I would only pay for the eggs and toast. Several minutes later, the owner returned to the booth and offered me bacon or sausage. I declined and told him I am not a chronic complainer as my guest had over heard him call me. After eating at Family Table since 1998, I told the owner that the hair and the dry inedible chop were my only bad experiences in years. The owner just walked away from our booth mumbling something I could not hear. On my way out, the owner accused me of NEVER tipping -- which is not true. Just ten days earlier before Christmas 2016, I had called him owner over to my booth to request 4 $5-bills for a $20 so that I could give Christmas tips to my favorite waitress and busman. Yet today the owner accuses me to my face that nobody wants to wait on me because "We never give tips" and then he lectured me on how waitresses depended on tips to make a living! It was clear the ownet did NOT know of my personal history of generous tipping habits over the years. What the owner meant was that we, as black men, do not tip. Before I could respond to his brazen charge the owner just walked away before I could refute his claim -- to be backed up by my usually pleasant, courteous and well-tipped waitress. BTW she is a delightful person who I respect and enjoy -- and who has worked at the Family Table Restaurant since it opened well over 20+ yeats ago. The audacity of the owner to dress me down as a deadbeat customers in the middle of the restaurant was insulting, racially insensitive and entirely bogus. After 18 years, I will never again patronize the Family Table Restaurant. Yes, I will miss the modestly priced breakfasts, huge fresh lunch salads and clever dinner specials. But let me be clear -- it's the thoughtful, friendly and attentive service/bus staff I will most miss engaging with. Folks simply find another family table to take you and your party to dine. If the owner says these things to my face, I can only imagine his comments about ANY customer after they pay and depart!?!?!? Avoid the hot pink-colored restaurant on Brown Deer Road in Brown Deer. It is now officially off my list of places to spend my eating out dollars. read more

This is a great Diner experience. We liked it so much for dinner that we came back and ate breakfast. We really enjoyed everything we are. Just a few examples were the Ham and cheese club, Buffalo wings, Monte Cristo, Bleu Burger, Bacon and Sausage skillet (almost more meat than potato), Diet plate, Alaskan waffle, Pancakes with apple topping, and Crepes with Fresh blue berries. The staff was excellent. Don't be fooled by the pink building. By the way, for both meals we averaged less than $10/person. (We mostly had water to drink.) read more

I've eaten at the "Pink Palace" so many times that I've lost track. Today, I ordered the "Dueces" (probably not the best name for a dish) which included 2 pancakes, 2 scrambled eggs, 2 sausages, and 2 strips of bacon. All was pretty standard and exactly what you'd get at any other Milwaukee Greek restaurant. The only disappointment were the pancakes... they were really difficult to cut through with the side of my fork like a good pancake should be. And they could have been a little warmer too. The ol' man got the "South Of The Border" breakfast: Mexican rice, beans, and Chorizo hash with tortillas. He ALWAYS gets this whenever he eats there. It must be really good for him to be that loyal, but I'll have to take his word on it because I don't touch beans or Chorizo. Our server seemed a little weird this morning. Talking strangely about the weather and raising children. It was just odd and uncomfortable. But I suppose she was just trying to be personable, so I can't fault her. Up at the front, they sell whole cakes and slices and some other random desserts. I've actually heard that some of there cakes are amazing and I spied an awesome looking German chocolate cake on the way out that I wanted to take home devour all by myself in a dimly-lit room. All in all, it's a standard Milwaukee Greek restaurant and the only one in the Brown Deer area, so go there if you're looking for relaxed dining and huge menus with alright food at reasonable prices. read more

I haven't been here in years and I won't be back! Our waitresses was very friendly but the food was horrible. I ordered the Denver omelet. Well it came and there was no cheese. I was informed that I had to ask for it and there was an extra charge. Once it came back with the cheese I noticed there were no mushrooms. What kind of Denver is this? Only ham onion and green pepper. As for my wife, her pancakes were cold, and both her bacon and sausage were both frozen microwave meat. Never again! I should have gone to McDonalds. read more

I wasn't expecting a lot from this place; from the outside, it's certainly not much to look at. But, we needed to find a place for breakfast, stat, and this was the closest. We were nervous going on a Sunday at 10ish, and while it was indeed packed almost to capacity, we were seated right away, and our food was delivered in a very timely manner. We had the veggie omelet, chicken breast skillet, and two "deuces" (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon). They were all really good. Hot and fresh, big portions, but not omg-this-is-ridiculous big portions. We did take home some leftovers, but some plates were finished without feeling like we overate. Our server was very nice and asked at the beginning if we'd be splitting our check, which saved some hassle at the end and was very appreciated. read more
