The food was very delicious. Lots of variety of meat and sushi. They were not cheap on the A5 Wagyu. They had a variety of sauces to choose from and a very nice dessert bar too. This place is very high quality and with great ambiance. There is a lot of great quality cuts and dishes that make it a great deal. The 69.99 deal is well worth it. This option the american wagyu option. My favorite cuts were the short rib the wagyu beef tongue scallops and the tenderloin. Pro tip: if you want to make the $ worth it you have to cook yourself and better like med rare to ensure that you can try every cut. I would also suggest to focus on the beef at this particular kbbq since the wagyu is only the beef cuts also faster to cook then chicken and pork. Also the side dishes r very good liked the coconut shrimp and the chicken wings. The sushi rolls were all solid with good fish to rice ratios. Shashimi was very fresh with sizeable slices. The omakase plate was very high quality. The grill was always replaced timely with good air circulation. The service getting the food was a little scrambled with us having to reorder food multiple times. The tables were all private and seculded but the waiters tended to check on you less. This is a pretty good spot for AYCE wagyu. I think it's a decent deal for either the American at $68 or A5 at $160. It's also 1 of the few that comes with a mini omakase which is unique and tasty. 1 thing that this place does though is they offer a ton of appetizers that are not related to the wagyu, which is both good and bad. The beef takes pretty long to cook at the table, longer than other places so keep that in mind since you have a time limit for your table. Sublime beef, sabotaged by a server There are few things I hold sacred in dining: good company, great food, and a sense that the restaurant knows which one I came for. Wagyu Place in Flushing delivered two of the three -- and then watched the third unravel in spectacular fashion. Let's start with the positives, because they deserve it. The food was magnificent -- every cut of wagyu grilled to buttery perfection, the marble dancing on the fire like it knew exactly what it was doing. The ambience, warm and elegant, could hold its own among the best yakiniku experiences in the city. Even the hostess and our initial server were gracious, polished, and attentive. For a moment, it felt like one of those evenings that would live fondly in memory -- especially since our party of four was celebrating the recent engagement of two dear friends. And then came Jessica. What followed was not so much service as it was social captivity. For nearly forty minutes, Jessica held our table hostage in a one-woman monologue about her personal life -- speaking over us, raising her voice, and ignoring every polite cue that we were there to catch up with each other, not her. What began as awkward quickly turned into absurd; what should've been laughter and conversation among friends became a prolonged exercise in restraint. The low point came when she decided, inexplicably, to play keep-away with my food -- pulling back my grilled meat two or three times before finally giving it to me. It wasn't a joke. It wasn't charming. It was mockery disguised as banter, and in any restaurant, let alone one serving wagyu at over $330 before tip, it was utterly unacceptable. When the check arrived, I mentioned the total to a friend -- a small inside joke about the number 333. Jessica, uninvited, interrupted again to correct me loudly, declaring herself my "new math teacher." It was the perfect punctuation mark on a service performance that managed to be both exhausting and infantilizing. To their credit, management responded promptly to my message -- at least at first. I received a brief apology and assurance that the issue had been reported to their manager. But weeks later, there's been no follow-up, no gesture of sincerity, no sense that the feedback was taken to heart. And that's the tragedy here. Wagyu Place could have been an easy five stars -- the kind of restaurant you recommend without hesitation. Instead, it became a cautionary tale of how great food can be undone by a single server and a lack of genuine accountability. Flushing has no shortage of excellent wagyu spots, many of them with service that matches their cuisine. Until Wagyu Place learns to value its guests' experience as much as its beef, I'll be dining elsewhere. read more

At first, we were shocked because they seated 8 of us to one tiny grill, but they ended up grilling half of our food in the back kitchen, so we wouldn't be starving. I had such a great experience the first time I went, I couldn't wait to go back. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. They changed many of the appetizer options for the Wagyu set and you can't see any of the menu options online either. at least they still kept the lobster and oysters with Uni and roe. Also the foie gras if you paid cash. Unfortunately the toast was kind of hard like it was made ahead of time. Everything else was swapped out. They got rid of the Omakase, miso cod, and duck breast tempura (which wasn't my favorite last time, but not really the point). In place of those, they offered a salt and pepper rare Wagyu short ribs, ponzu marinated salmon belly, and tuna Tataki which I felt was repetitive and redundant. Why do I need to eat a beef appetizer right now if I'm going to eat another or 2 pounds of Wagyu? (and it wasn't made very well, ate dry) Also, do I want really care for the salmon belly and tuna Tataki if I can get unlimited tuna, salmon, Ebi sashimi? They also didn't offer the caviar anymore. However, the Wagyu came out quickly, but unfortunately, our server was under experienced, and didn't know how to cook the Wagyu properly. He kept flipping it, when he should've just let one side cook and then flip it one time which led to most of the pieces just being torn up. All the servers were very nice and attentive, but that doesn't help when our main server messed up the cooking of our meat. One other complaint was that the scallops that were brought out to us wasn't fresh and smelled like they had turned. All in all, I was barely satisfied with the meat, again not the quality, just the cooking, really enjoy the foie, disappointed in the overall meal for what it cost. I had higher expectations coming in. There is a $70 option with American Wagyu and a $170 option with Japanese A5 wagyu. We ordered the $70 American wagyu and I would not recommend coming here for this, perhaps for the $170 Japanese wagyu. Pretty bad experience for the price. I spent about 3 hrs eating my meal, because it took them that long serve food. It seemed they were understaffed, but I don't feel that's a valid reason for my poor experience. When we were seated, the waiter did not even let me finish ordering before walking off. There is no warning or anything for the step before entering the seating area. Both my friend and I tripped. Water was not served till at least 1 & 1/2 hr INTO OUR meal. We had no drinks served at all! We flagged him down at least 5 times to ask for water and tongs/scissors. Every request was dashed off with "give me 1 second." Another excuse was the previous nights staff did not clean the grills. But what does clean or unclean grills have to do with serving us a cup of water? They didn't even change our grilling plate (this is pretty bad considering regular a la carte or cheaper ayce places changes it pretty often, literally very basic practice). As a matter of fact, experience was so poor that another table walked out mid-meal. I wish I had walked out, too. It was a complete waste of my day. Wrong food was delivered to our table multiple times. That's another fail for poor hygiene if you're ocd. Grilling plates not changed plus wrong food orders getting passed to different tables. During the first order, I placed an order for scallops. I've asked multiple times, and finally, at the end of the meal, I asked for scallops again. He later returns, letting me know they didn't have any. He didn't bother checking again after he placed the order to give an update. Nothing discounted off the bill. No manager came over to apologize for the terrible experience. Even when we asked for the manager twice, he still said his favorite sentence for the day. -- give me 1 second. Then he was nowhere to he found. Not worth $68 plus tip. The omakase set was decent but it's served once only, I guess it's one piece per person for each variety but better off going to another wagyu spot or an omakase spot. If you're someone who likes to get their money's worth from an AYCE place, I would not recommend this place. The food quality is very good, I will say that. They have multiple kinds of A5 American wagyu meats with the majority tasting really good. However, the service here needs a lot of improvement. They have these semi private booths and small tables that make the place look very fancy. The service we got did not match the atmosphere. I felt like a lot of their staff might have been new employees. From spilling water on the table (and on my friend's phone), to overcooking the meat (we ended up just cooking ourselves halfway through), to having the wrong food come to our table and our food taking over 30+ minutes to arrive. We had to keep calling on servers because we were not being checked on regularly. We ended up only getting two rounds of meats (the second a small portion) in about two hours. When closing out I brought up these complaints to the staff (no one introduced themselves as the manager either) and all they said was that it was because they were busy and that they would comp our sodas ($7 total...). For the amount they charge, this place is most definitely not worth it because of the service. read more

Been meaning to try here for a while. They def try to fill you up with their set ayce menu. All the small appetizers come out pretty fast once it's placed. But the meat they cook it one by one. So I just ended up cooking it myself because they are killing time. The service is terrible. When we first sat down they gave us a tablet. And we told them it's frozen. But it took us a while to get their attention. Then when we did their attention they gave us a "new" one but in reality it was the one we gave them but they forgot. So took a little while to find a working tablet for us. They didn't say anything. We thought we had to order from the tablet. But in reality it's a set menu we just have to choose the 2 options America wagyu or the A5 Wagyu option and they would have started the dinner by then. By the time they said about the menu they said it's to look. That doesn't not explain anything. The best thing I think was the raw oysters. Their meat was mediocre. We got sick of it pretty fast. The menu works by either choosing the Japanese wagyu set vs American Wagyu set both all you can eat with the Japanese Wagyu being about double the price. Opted for the American Wagyu because my friends who have eaten here before told me it was more worth the price since you get the same sashimi sides and the meat is still really tender. I thought the food was really good, especially the short rib cut being extremely tender. The other pieces felt more like standard good steak. The service also was great. The waiters were super attentive and every time I picked up the iPad with the menu they came over to ask what I wanted to order. Went with a group of friends early before the crowd. We choose the cheapest of the wagyu set. Firstly it is really annoying having the staff come to you every minute - like let us grill our own meat. On top of it some of the meat was overcooked or undercooked. No one at the table was satisfied. They purposefully leave the most expensive cut to the end - so you are too full and won't ask for seconds of it. And then the most shocking part? One of the cuts was rotten! They tried to play it off as "it is the sauce" but I know rotten meat. It has a distinctive smell and my friend who literally eats anything spit it out. When we insisted the waiter try it or the cook - they wouldn't... we actually tried this chain in Las Vegas so we know more or less the sauces they use. Lastly, it is a lot of food and none of us wanted to waste it but we basically got kicked out because there was a line. Never going back here. Came here on a weekday night without any reservations and there were plenty of seatings. Parking in flushing is always hard but was able to find some street parking outside, can also park at one of the lots nearby like Tangram or Skyview. The place is upstairs and pretty spacious and our service was quite good. Some of the servers did not speak English but they had a server for us who did and it was very helpful in explaining the menu. We were pleasantly surprised at the amount of food we got for the all you can eat that was around $68/person. Most things comes with the package and you can order them freely. The meat was actually genuinely good, and if we had a bigger appetite it would be really worth it to get seconds or thirds. The meat was also grilled at the table for us, which was really nice, but I guess if you want to grill it yourself you can also do that. They asked for our preference in how cooked it is and came out pretty well with each grill. This is a place that I would definitely visit again! read more
