TLDR: Jeju is a great spot if you're looking for Korean style sushi/sashimi. Stick with a fresh fish combo to avoid having to think and get a full tasting experience. Personally I like the flue. Stopped in for a Friday group dinner and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked everything. The pre tax/tip came out to around $45 per person which I thought was quite reasonable. The side dishes were all pretty enjoyable but what I really liked was the sashimi was sliced super thin. This made it easy to enjoy with the dip of fermented bean paste, garlic, sesame oil and chilis. There was a good chew to the fish but not requiring too much work. It's tough to describe in words but this was a meal that I've remembered quite fondly since dining there. Will definitely be hitting up it for dinner again soon.

Visit on a Sunday afternoon around 5 pm on a rainy day for Korean style sushi & sashimi. Personally, I am not a big fan of table full of Korean style appetizers before the main sashimi dish ... Would rather dig in in the sashimi ^^ The appetizer/side dishes were OK. Nothing special. But, glad we tried the new soju "Mountain Halla". Brought our own booze & they charged us $30 for table charge (corkage fee) of booze. The main sashimi was (obviously) fresh, tad bit small portion for 4 ppl menu.

    - Food Fanily and I ordered Bone-in Sliced Fish and Live Fish menu item, which came with many side dishes for us to enjoy. Select favorites were the oden and katsudon. Best to come in on an empty stomach because you will be eating a lot! The live fish platter was nicely presented and had nice texture. It is served with sesame leaves and lettuce for you to wrap the fish in with soybean paste. - Service Very attentive service, cleaned the finished dishes in timely manner. There are a lot of separate plates so space management is key. We were glad to have good service. - Ambiance Quaint and small shop with cute lanterns above. There is a fishtank as well where they keep the live fish and other critters (abalone, eels, etc). In the back is the sushi chef. There is a bathroom as well.

Very good quality sashimi. The other items were decent but not as good as sashimi. The set was a lot of food too much for me. Service was good and ambiance is typical. I would come back for more of the sashimi.

First time visiting Jeju since their relocation, and I'm glad to know it's still great! My friends and I were seated immediately and had great service throughout the entire meal! We ordered the sushi and sashimi combo B for 5 of us, which was more than enough food with all the side dishes that came beforehand. The wide array of side dishes ensures there's something to enjoy for everyone! Personally I really liked the shrimp tempura! As for the sushi and sashimi itself, it was super fresh and almost melted in my mouth. The salmon which is my personal favorite was amazing, and if you're a sashimi enjoyer, I'd highly recommend you give Jeju a try!

I have tried Sashimi Combo, which has Salmon, Tuna, White Tuna in it. Those are all fresh. The dish surprised me is the Sea Squirt and Sea Cucumber. This is the first time I eat Sea Squirt, it taste soft but little bit fishy. I feel like in the ocean when I had a first bite on it. Lol. I love the sea cucumber sashimi, it's chewy and fresh. I love the crab meat pasta the most, it's creamy and little bit sweet. Overall, all dishes are okay. However, since it's fully occupied indoor, we have to seat at outdoor tent. There are heat set up around us, but it's still really cold. I'll recommend wait and be seated indoor.

This place is so underrated and I'm so glad we went a bit away from the Main St restaurants to go here. We ordered the Seafood & Sashimi combo which came with SO MANY side dishes (all of them were seafood, served in different ways. There was the squid stirfried in a spicy sauce, fish cake kebabs, octopus in wasabi sauce, and too many others to count. After enjoying the sides, they brought out the platter, which had many pieces of various fish (incl salmon and tuna). I will say it was a bit stuffy in there and at one point was so hot, but once they turned on the AC, it felt better. The restaurant itself is clean and fairly spacious. Beer was only $4, super cheap. I saw there were also special pricing for later in the night. The waitress we had only spoke Korean, but it was not difficult to order with the menu at all. The wait staff were all great and frequently changed out the plates. Highly recommend!

The food was fantastic. I really can't begining to say how much I enjoyed it. I got the sashimi and seafood special for 2, soju and terra beer. We got soooo many delicious side dishes and I was definitely full by the time I left

Super fresh and fun! Enjoyed the different style of Banchan and service was spot on. It's a small place that almost feels like a cafeteria style. I enjoyed the homey feel. Good for groups & kids, too.

Jejudo Restaurant (or Jeju-Island) is a Jeju-style sashimi restaurant, uncommonly found in NYC. Those unfamiliar with this type of meal need to be open-minded and adventurous. Disclaimer, I'm adventurous for sure but not familiar with this style of meal. In Korea's Jeju island, there are many seafood restaurants that offer set meals accompanied by a rotating slew of side dishes and fresh, raw seafood of the day. Jejudo offers this type of set menu, which is the best thing to try. On the menu, it is one of the seafood combos where you choose size based on number of persons (e.g. $195 for 5, $170 for 4, $150 for 3, $120 for 2). We tried the "Sashimi Combo & Seafood," which came with a seemingly endless parade of side dishes, culminating in a show-stopping assortment of fresh sashimi (e.g., fluke, salmon, tuna, yellowtail) on mounds of shredded radish. It is more than enough food for most people, and I think choosing the size based on party size is reasonable. Our side dishes, which seemed to have no rhyme or reason, included eel teriyaki, grilled fish collar, conch salad, sweet and sour pork, tempura shrimp, creamed grilled corn, fish balls in soup, sautéed veggies, crab alfredo pasta, steamed egg custard, fried fish, and a tofu/radish stew. For raw fish offerings, there was salmon sushi, a medley of raw shellfish, and the sashimi platter, best had with a bit of soy and chili sauce, which all diners get and can mix to their liking. The raw seafood here is very fresh, really untouched or fussed with. By far, my favorite raw fish was the fluke, which is available on its own in the "Live Fish Sashimi & Seafood" combo. The side dishes were generally decent, and even if one isn't fond of a specific dish, quantities are small, just a piece or few bites per person. Soju is offered (not flavored ones). I had fun trying this style of Korean sashimi/seafood cuisine. Don't come if you're looking for refined raw seafood (a la Japanese omakase) or if you're with picky eaters who can't handle not knowing what's coming. But for an unfussy, relaxed, and satisfying shared group meal, Jeju-Island is a great experience.

The food is fresh, comes in large quantities, and the staff is very attentive and kind. The environment is very clean and cozy as well.

they moved locations! but great service and the food hits close to home. loved! the food: i ordered the set menu of korean sashimi, not the entire sashimi variety set as the texture of korean sashimi is what i was craving! it comes with tons of appetizers including fresh seafood (sea squirt and more), and warm soups. i loved the variety of textures and dishes. the service: great! very attentive and keeps up with cleaning out the table to bring in more food. they were also accommodating to all of my questions and even provided a refill on the fish cake soup my party devoured.

    Crystal Y.

Definitely come as a group so you get to try all the food amd seafood. We opted for the sashimi set which comes to $60+ per person after tax and tip. The amount and variety of food is breathtaking lol not only did it fill up the table, we didn't have enough space for the sashimi when it came out. We also saw people with seafood pot that looked good. Recommend for Korean sushi!

Service was minimal at best but they just seemed under staffed honestly. And when the server did come by, she was running quickly to and from. The place was not busy when my friends and I were seated. But there was a back room in guessing that had occupants since she was missing in the front seating area. (There was a two person table occupied in the front near us). My party of three over ordered but that was intentional because, any purchase over $100, you get a free lobster and each of us had items we wanted, figured we would doggie bag the leftovers. All in all a great value. The lunch spread had over 7 dishes and we got the free lobster. I was especially happy to see Fried Milk on the menu as an appetizer. They also provide complimentary salted peanuts and pickled radish and carrot slivers. I recommend the snow pea shoots, fried milk, clams with black bean sauce and the Chinese Broccoli with Filet beef. The other dishes like the lobster, noodles and sweet and sour pork were executed well but just not my flavor profile. And with my food allergy, I couldn't try the shrimp with walnuts but it was my friends' birthday so she ordered that for her treat. It looked great! We were famished and only focused on what yummy dishes to order. My wife, son and daughter all contributed their suggestions and we ended up ordering pan fried whole flounder, half of the roast chicken with garlic, filet mignon with Chinese broccoli, fried rice with chicken and salted fish and everyone's favorite dish salt & pepper squid. Once we placed our order and were enjoying the roasted peanuts and free spicy cabbage we realized why everyone had their winter coats on, it felt like they had the AC on and it must have been 55° in the restaurant. I told everyone that once the food arrived things would warm up. Each dish that came out of the kitchen was perfectly cooked and was delicious. The salt & pepper squid with it's minced jalapeños kept us warm enough until the half chicken with garlic and filet mignon and Chinese broccoli came out in rapid succession. The star of the show turned out to be the giant sized pan fried flounder which was not only big but quite scrumptious. Unlike the little scrawny flounder that most other restaurants usually served this was a quite large and very meaty and perfectly cooked. The last dish to come out was a very large plate of chicken fried rice with salted fish. If it were not for the lack of heat, I would have given Chef Wong Bistro 5 stars!

Interesting enough, while the owner is from Wenzhou, their main chef is from Fu Zhou. Hence I definitely see some Fukinese influences here as well, such as their famous Buddha Jumped Over The Wall Soup that requires advance notice. Anyway, the reason I first visited this restaurant was because they have a great lunch special from Monday to Saturday. You can choose three items and a soup for $8, or four items and a soup for $9. I gave that a try a few months back and thought the food was solid. Due to my first experience, I decided to come try their dinner offerings with my family recently. We ordered a bunch of dishes and was overall please. While the best dish of the night may have been the Salt & Pepper Pork Chop, it's hard not to enjoy Ginger & Scallion Twin Lobsters for $29.88 right? The Shi Li Xiang Stir-Fry (Mixed Seafood w/ XO Sauce) and Wenzhou Style Dried Tofu w/ Smoked Pork were pretty good too. Unfortunately, the cold appetizers were not as satisfying. While slightly overcooked, the Boiled Pig Kidney was still decent. The Fried Belt Fish was okay, and I did not really like the Jelly Fish & Cumcumber or the freebies they gave us. As a whole, I thought the dinner was not bad and I would return to try more dishes. Nothing here really blew my mind, but the prices are so inviting.

I love their kimchi, which according to other reviews, are made in-house. On my last visit though, all the meat came out pre-cooked. We asked about that, and they said it's because if it is grilled tableside, there would be too much smoke. I don't remember not being able to grill the meats at the table on previous visits, and hopefully this is not their new standard practice. To me, Korean BBQ is meant to be grilled at the table, not brought precooked and just warmed up on the grill. (Maybe it's because it is winter and they can't open the doors for proper ventilation?) It's certainly not a reason to not dine here, but for me, it does take away from the experience hence a star removed from the rating. However, if you like eel and want to try it grilled, I would recommend Yuk Jun Gui.
