Was in town this weekend for the anime convention, and wanted a bowl of hot ramen to recharge! I have been to a couple Wagamama in New York, and was pleasantly surprised to find one here as well. I got the spicy pork szechuan ramen, which seems to be a newer item, and let me tell you, it was BOMB.com! First bite into the dish and it was a flavor explosion of spices, sweetness and savoriness altogether. I am a sucker for spicy food and this definitely hit right on the spot. The fresh juices are really great as well, they don't add any sugar but the juice is still sweet and refreshing. (Sometimes you want the sweetness in your life but still feeling healthy you know?) Get the Positive juice!!! The experience did not disappoint, if you have a Wagamama around your area you definitely need to stop by and try them out! read more

Axel was a great server provided us with a great experience. The food tasted well. The service was great and would come back here soon.

The food was sadly mediocre. The broth had good flavor but could've been stronger. The chicken was cooked well but no seasoning on it. Noodles were undercooked too. But was all still edible haha. And at least the service was great and all the workers were nice and polite. read more

So delicious! I traveled to Boston for few days. This was the best one during my stay. I ordered a tantanmen ramen

Very good and flavourful food. The service is outstanding and the atmosphere is very nice. It's a little tough to find this restaurant, but it's a hidden gem. You won't be disappointed. The best one, my top recommendation is 46. spicy salmon teriyaki soba. read more

I didn't do my research before coming here but I found out that their ramens are the most popular. Unfortunately I wanted to do a a donburi bowl at the time instead of a ramen. Service was great but server did not inform me of an additional charge for a fried egg and told me that the dish I ordered came with it. The donburi bowl was kind of mid, the meat was only a little bit and kind of dry and was not worth the price. The ramens were also very expensive which was kind of off putting for me. Overall the experience was quite mid. I think it's really overpriced for what they're giving read more

This food was soooo so good oh my goodness. The place was nice, although the AC is a bit on blast so I would suggest bringing a sweater or cardigan if you get cold easily. Our server was amazing and helped answer all the questions we had. I was happy to know I could substitute one of the things in my order for udon noodles instead because I love them. Everything tasted so good, and I can't wait to come back and try different things. read more

Well, if you have a desire for curry but don't want to go to an Indian/Southeast Asian restaurant, come here. If you want ramen but don't want to go to a ramen place, come here. If you want other Japanese cuisine, such as donburi, but don't want to go to a Japanese restaurant, come here. If you have a large group that "wants Asian food" but can't decide where and what, come here. And if you want "bastardized" versions of the foods above...yup, come here. The reviews deterred me for a long time, and so has the concept: Asian fusion puts me on alert. You can't do a lot of things well (Japanese restaurants in Japan proper have the concept down right) and you fusions tend to be taste off-putting. I tried the Wagamama ramen and there were some good points and bad. The noodles themselves were just average and I wasn't impressed. So was the broth. As the broth was decently flavorful, it had no body, like most ramen broths do. I liked the fact that there was a diversity of proteins with this offering and I liked the barbecued pork, as it resembled bacon. The chicken wasn't too dry but that's probably because the soup provided tons of support. The shrimp was tiny but decently grilled. The chikuwa and egg provided some semblance of authenticity. With the small portion of ramen, even though you get a wide-range of food on that ramen, it leaves you feeling lacking. The dining is clean, vast but perhaps sterile for some. Service was okay. Price-point isn't exactly attractive and I'd rather spend my money now down-the-street...at Santouka. 2.5 stars read more

The food is not really that good but it's one of those places you go to out of convenience since it's in the prudential center. The waiters are not particularly friendly, and honestly the service is horrible here. You basically will not see your waiter after they bring out your food, so order everything up front. I always ask for my drink + glass of water when I order, otherwise my glass will just sit there empty the rest of my meal. It's a pretty big restaurant so there's plenty of seating. Even when lines get long on a weekend, the lines move very quickly. There are regular height tables and tables that're a little higher so request for regular chairs if you can. My go-to is the Shirodashi pork ramen. It comes with pork belly, bamboo, greens, seaweed, egg, and clear broth. The pork belly is hit-or-miss. Sometimes it's cooked to perfection with an almost-burnt texture (the way I like my pork belly cooked). But sometimes it's barely cooked enough. The broth is quite greasy. The portions are pretty big so that's never a problem. The way the ramen is cooked is also highly variable - sometimes very overcooked, sometimes a little undercooked, and occasionally just right. I also get their gyoza. I hate that all of their gyoza comes with water chestnut so if you don't like this, don't get it. Note - their "fried" gyoza are deep fried, whereas the "steamed" gyoza means pan fried (they're not truly steamed). They also have curry dishes, which I don't really recommend. If you're looking for Japanese curry, you'll be disappointed. read more

Just went to try it out! Okay but definitely noticeable drop in flavor compared to like actual Asian restaurants. Coolest things were the boxy seating and randomly large wooden spoon that came with the ramen. Their cooked chicken is so mediocre. Ramen broth had a good but definitely not traditional flavor, 5.5/10 overall (too many sprouts and for what). Pad Thai is hard to mess up, 6/10. They will awkwardly sing you hbd with dessert if you tell them it's your birthday it seems. You get an egg in the ramen if you ask for it. read more

We came here around 7:30pm on Sunday and they had a decent amount of people dining in. We made reservations on their site just in case, but it probably would've been fine if we just walked in. I'm personally not the biggest fan of wagamama because their food is pretty americanized. However, my most recent experience was worthy of 4 stars because the manager and staff were very friendly and attentive. The manager greeted us at the entrance and offered to clean a booth for us to sit at. Our waiter checked on us frequently to make sure we were pleased with everything. They made it an enjoyable dining experience, especially during times like these with COVID. In the past, I've tried their ramen - in my opinion, I'd rather go to Santouka for real Japanese ramen. This time, my boyfriend and I ordered the katsu. They currently have a promo where you buy one hot curry katsu and your friend gets one for free. You just have to show the waiter a promo code, which can be found on their Facebook page. You get to pick chicken or vegetable katsu. The manager warned us that the katsu would be pretty spicy, and he was not kidding. It was surprising spicier than I thought it would be - the curry had a kick to it! It was also a bigger portion than we expected; it came with a lot of rice and 2 chicken katsu pieces, so I packed half of it as leftovers. The side salad added a nice refreshing crunch to the dish and helped ease the spice. As appetizers, we ordered the Fried Duck Gyoza (5 pieces) and the Pork Belly & Apple Tempura Baos (2 baos). The gyoza was great. It was both crispy and chewy, and came with an interesting dipping sauce. The pork belly bao wasn't bad but I couldn't taste the pork belly or apple as much as I could taste the sriracha/mayo sauce. They gave a thin but long slice of pork belly, rather than the usual thick chunk that other restaurants give. The bao itself was soft and went well with the crunch of the apple tempura. Overall, I had a nice dinner. They offer an americanized version of asian dishes - doesn't hurt to try and see if it suits your taste or not. read more

I came here with a fairly large group for a friend's birthday recently and thought it was alright, but not outstanding. We ordered the chili squid as an appetizer and really enjoyed it, I would definitely recommend trying it. I ordered the chicken curry katsu, but was honestly a bit disappointed with it. I thought it was a bit bland and that they really could've been more generous with the curry because it wasn't really enough for the amount of rice they give. I will say that my friends who ordered different dishes seemed to like theirs a lot more though! In terms of service, there were definitely some ups and downs. We had to ask for an extra plate THREE times before someone actually brought it to us and the server seemed annoyed at us for it, even though I really don't think it's that big of a request... Still, they did gift my friend a free lemon tart for her birthday (because sadly they ran out of cake). Overall, I think the good and the bad averages out to a solid 3/5. I wouldn't say it's amazing, but it's conveniently located in the prudential center and still a pretty decent choice. read more

Ever since I saw the signs this place was opening in DC (they aren't opening after all) , I've always wondered what this place is all about. We stayed at the Westin Copley Place and decided to eat dinner at the Prudential Center. When we strolled by this place, I wanted to eat here. We ordered the chicken and duck gyozas. They weren't like five star Japanese quality you get a fine ramen shops, but they weren't bad either. I had the miso beef ramen. I thought it was really good and had a good spicy kick to it. The beef donburi was pretty good too. My wife said the seafood ramen was decent. Good broth and big piece of salmon. They do have a kids menu, but what kid will eat ramen or curry? Now, will they ever open in DC? read more

My first night in Boston was rainy, humid and muggy. After a one-hour flight delay and airport food all day of travel, my stomach was still on California time and I had to find something to eat that was still open on Friday night that wasn't too pricey, bar food, or far from my hotel. Cue my inner Duchess. Already missing Ramen House Ryujin, and unimpressed by touristy chains P.F. Chang's, Cheesecake Factory, and Pinkberry inside the shops at Pru, I happened upon Wagamama. I did also want to try Legal Seafoods but not on the first night, wanted to keep it simple. Never heard of Wagamama (apparently a British-based chain that has only US locations in MA) and thought I'd give it a try. Picnic bench style seating, I was a solo diner so it wasn't too awkward. Off their summer menu, and, "when in Rome," I got the seafood ramen (noodles in a vegetable broth with mussels, shrimp, and salmon, topped with wakame, spinach, carrots, scallions, and a wedge of lime) for main dish, $12.95. It was okay, not too filling though. For dessert, I wanted the coconut reika (three scoops of coconut ice cream with a tangy mango sauce and toasted coconut) but the waitress was able to hook me up with a smaller version of it (one scoop portion instead of three) since it was just me...on the house. I know what you're thinking, since when does Michelle L. turn down massive ice cream? It was a long day and that one scoop was plenty rich, thanks very much. Not sure if it was the local Cambridge Toscanini's ice cream but it was refreshing, the tropical flavor helped. I didn't realize she didn't charge for the ice cream dessert until after my trip was done and I was going through receipts for an expense report. Oops. Thanks, waitress/chef whose name I forgot because my receipt says Joshua was my server when I first got there then shifts changed and it was near closing time... read more

I've been to a number of Wagamama restaurants, in The UK as well as a couple here in Boston. I was born and raised in Japan, so the contemporary (casual) Japanese influences throughout their menu is a trigger for homesickness. My favorite is the Chicken Katsu Curry, which is served on a plate with salad greens and a 'loaf' of Japanese short grained rice, which has a slightly 'sticky' texture and is easier to pick up with chopsticks. The rice is formed like a small bread loaf by scooping up the rice in an oval-shaped bowl, and then turned out on top of a flat, breaded and fried slice of chicken breast. The one thing that irks me about Wagamama is that they consistently fail at getting the rice cooked right. Whether its Glasgow, London or the US, firm, dry and slightly un-cooked rice seems to be their signature fail; the one key part of the Wagamama experience that consistently disappoints and renders it to be 'just another fastfood outlet that charges sit-down prices. This visit to the Wagamama at the Prudential Center in Boston just reinforced my disappointment. My chicken katsu meal was presented/served well but one stab at the rice with my chopsticks, brought back the reality of Wagamama. Nice concept but mediocre in finish. Asians 'know' rice; it's the staple of all of our meals, and nothing will ruin a painstakingly prepared meal faster than mediocre rice. Imagine going to an Italian restaurant and ordering pasta, only to find it served at your table as either under-cooked or over-done, with chunks of it clumping together?! When I told the waitstaff twice about how unsatisfactory the rice was, they reacted like they didnt know what I was talking about, nor any idea for how to deal with it. They said that they would tell the manager. The manager did not respond... Wagamama may be perfectly fine for you. For this Japanese diner, I'd give it a pass. Wagamama is just FAKE. read more

Great ambiance and chill music. For a beverage I got sparkling lemonade, which comes in a cute bottle but was quite gingery/tart Appetizers - Edamame was good but I couldn't pick up on any chili garlic salt. Duck lettuce wraps were delicious, super fatty and tender. Main - I got the avant gard'n. The seitan was well-cooked, but the barbecue sauce was overwhelmingly intense. If you're averse to spice or are watching your sodium intake, this isn't for you. The carrots, edamame, and green onions were generous, but the roasted asparagus and mushrooms were overly greasy. The coconut milk/cornflour egg with sriracha mayo "egg yolk" was... well, I'm not vegan, and glad. read more

Very dependable option if you're ever in need of a hasty pick-me-up in the Copley Place/Prudential area. The most concise way I can describe this London-based restaurant chain is a Japanese food version of Panera Bread. Dishes are filling, satisfying, quick to arrive, moderately priced, and of decent quality. Emphasis on "quick to arrive"; I've come here four times since its grand opening in Prudential in 2017, each time I was seated on the spot, and only waited around 5 minutes after ordering. Staff is friendly and always on their toes. I've tried each of their main dishes (Donburi, ramen, curry, soba) and they all tasted fresh and flavorful. read more

I'm sorry I am the critic that can be harsh. The place is fairly new, with a very tired atmosphere. The food is a rip off for the price, and consists of a lot of stuff you make at home when you're struggling to make ends meet. If it tasted better then I'd say it is worth a try. Seafood is not fresh, and disappointing. Appetizers seem less than half ass, weren't appetizing....the place just seems like a soup kitchen with ramen and udon noodles. Watered down lame. I am sorry for being so honest. read more

Atmosphere (3.5/5): Very clean interior. This restaurant opened recently. There used to be lines to be seated but not anymore. Very open concept and you can watch the kitchen. Food (2/5): This is fusion of all Asian cuisines. You can find mostly Japanese with Korean, Thai, and other asian twists. Honestly I expected more. We had chili squid, chicken curry katsu, bulgogi steak yakisoba. I know my Asian food but this restaurant is off by a lot. When I order Japanese food, I don't expect Thai twist in it. It tastes like Thai chef made Japanese food without tasting any. Katsu curry looks like katsu curry but the curry flavor was off by a lot. Too much coconut milk taste in it and some pineapple. Just didn't work at all. Also the yakisoba almost tastes like Mexican/Thai fusion. If this was my first time trying these dishes, I would not return. The only redeeming portion of the dish was that side salad with katsu curry. Food can improve but this is just confusing to me. Service (1/5): I know it was Christmas eve and the staffs wanted to leave but very poor overall. My server was almost rude because she wanted to leave. We were rushed to order because kitchen was gonna close in 10 minutes which it didn't since the restaurant was still taking customers well past that time. Our food came out in ridiculous phase. My entree came out first and 15 minutes later the starter came. When we were almost done with all of them, my husband's entree came out which is another 15 min later. Also the next table asked the server to reheat the food but the answer was complete lie and disappointment to me. Whoever opened this restaurant will need to re-train all of the hall staffs or hire people who know how to run a restaurant. This could have been so great with location and ideas but with extremely poor service, it will not last. Maybe that is why there is no more line of people. read more

Disappointing. Nice vibe in this shopping center establishment got me in the door. Service was initially courteous and attentive. Menu has many choices. Cold day, I wanted soup. Ordered chicken ramen. Quickly served water and hot green tea. Then came the ramen. First thing noticed was the rancid odor. A quick perusal of yelp showed others experienced this as well. I disagree that it was bad meat or vegetables though....it was clearly the recipe. Leaving me wondering if the chefs spent a great deal of time refining the ingredient choices until they unanimously agreed upon the most offensive smell. The ingredients were in fact fresh and cooked well. The noodles were perfect. Sadly, the heavy handed use of salt made me conscious of a sudden rise in blood pressure. Fearing a stroke, I left it half uneaten. The overly salty taste rendered it inedible bit I gave into hunger and ate half. And drank a full bottle of water. Finishing this review quickly as I have to run...large bottle of water will do that! read more
