This is one of those cool little diners everyone likes to find. The breakfast here is amazing diner food. You can actually get a perfectly cooked, over easy egg! The hash browns are buttery and tasty. The country fried steak is yummy as well. And the perfect topper...a good strong cup of coffee (doesn't curl your toes). Ordered a Denver omelet with bacon instead of ham with pancakes and a side of toast to go. My omelet was delicious and stuffed full with all the goodies. I asked for the flavored syrups they have and they totally hooked me up. Waffles Plus has been a staple breakfast go-to for years in Spokane. I had never taken my husband there until this weekend. It's more of a neighborhood diner, no frills. But the food is always good and the owner and staff are always friendly! My waffle was SOOO good. They have waffles with fruit and ice cream, they have waffles with meat mixed in (I like sausage), there are various flavors of syrup...and the rest of their breakfast items are also good. They're very fast even when they're busy. Never disappointed with my meal. read more

My wife and I have been going to Waffles Plus for the past 6 years, often with our grandchildren. The food and service has been good for that time. This last week we stopped in shortly before they closed for a quick lunch. We were both wearing our masks as the state law requires. It was a shocking trip to say the least. The owner was wearing a mask around his neck, sitting at a small table with an elderly costumer with no mask. The wait staff had masks they wore, but there were another couple sitting at the counter without masks. No changes had been made to the interior seating at the restaurant to comply with state guidelines. We decided to eat quickly and go. As the couple at the counter left, the waitress came out to clear and re-place the "no seating" tape and signs at the counter where they had just sat and had clearly been removed. A kitchen staff person came out of the kitchen with a mask but a stained white sleeveless t-shirt on with way too much hairy body exposed. The owner said " If the Governor shuts us down, I will stay open and defy the order."............It was so sad to see this point of view which reflects on the fact that the management does not care much for its patron's or staff's health at these scary times when people my age are dying. We and our family will not return to this business, ever. read more

This place has the best waffles I have ever had. I can't even begin to describe how perfectly melt in your mouth delicious they are. I have never been disappointed with choosing this place for breakfast. I usually get the hot potato omelet which is an omelet with cheese and hash browns rolled up inside of it and it is AMAZING. Only gets one star because I have to give it at least one. F&*k. Worst food on the planet. Seriously, what the f&%k? I'm astonished this place exists. Some people eat for nutrition, some people eat for taste, and some people eat to taste butt in their mouth I guess. If you've read my other reviews here or at spoon, you know that I could care less about the decor, cleanliness or service-IF...the food is good. Well, the food here sucks and tastes like butt, so.... The place is grimy and dirty. The menus are crusted with dirt. The salt and pepper shakers were filthy. Our table had grime all over it. Just disgusting. Take a peek at the drink machine right to the left of the register-need I say more? Decor looked like it was from the 60's and the place has a funk smell to it. Just nasty. Service was friendly, but who gives a crap if the food sucks this bad? I ordered a belgian waffle plain with butter and maple syrup and a side of patty sausage. Jen ordered a meat and veggie omelet with hash browns and a side of link sausage. I overpowered my caffeine addiction and thankfully passed on the coffee. Here's where it goes bad-real bad. My waffle was crispy on the outside, moist and soft on the inside. But then I poured the imitation maple flavored sugar water they call homemade syrup on it. Now the whole damn thing was soggy with sugar water. And, the worst mistake ever, they served it with margarine! Unbelievable! Who the hell eats margarine? So gross. My sausage patty was dry and tough as leather. So thin, so flavorless, shoot me in the head already. Jen's omelet was good she says. Ya, whatever. Her hash browns tasted like freezer burn. Both of us thought so! They were incredibly disgusting. Her link sausage was nearly flavorless, even with the homemade imitation maple flavored sugar water poured over top. Can we get the F out of here already? There were about 5 or 6 hairs (or fibers from a towel, I couldn't tell) underneath my soggy waffle. I didn't tell Jen until we left. Maybe they were hairs from the long haired freaky looking cook who was wearing a tank top? A tank top? Really? I didn't know they even made those stupid things anymore. Such a disgusting piece of American culture. Lots of old people here. Everyone knew everyone. But why do they eat here? I'll never understand. You can't even try to make me. I'll eat my arm before I ever step foot in this dump again. The worst fast food breakfast (Burger King maybe?) is a thousand times better than this swill. Not even fit for the hogs. read more

BEST place in TOWN!!!! Every time we travel home to Spokane this is the only place we go for breakfast! Best Biscuits and Gravy anywhere! I went to Waffles Plus as a child with my grandfather many many many years ago, We even have a photo of my grandfather at Waffles Plus at the bar having his daily coffee. Let alone the many memories as a child, now I have memories their with our son. We love this place oh and I forgot to mention my husband that normally doesn't eat breakfast at all -- He loves breakfast here. The place was crowded for one thing. Wife and I went in, spotted a table right away. A waiter or greeter person said, nope can't have that one, was already taken. Supposedly, the person it was for went out to their car and were coming back. Like ok whatever. We went in, had the last the last table available. Was all crammed up against another chair, some guy kept bumping my chair. Was really close to just walking out the door. Ordered a waffle breakfast. Waffle was cold. This is the place I HAVE to stop at every time I'm in Spokane. The food is delicious and consistent every time I come. No matter how busy they are, I've always had the best costumer service. Amazing waffles!! My husband gets the bacon waffle & I get the chocolate chip waffle every time! Great food & small diner/ hole in the wall atmosphere. The waitresses are nice and thoughtful, I had one who gave my toddler a bowl of sliced bananas when he was getting fussy. You don't get that kind of service just anywhere. Hi there, we are new residents to Spokane, so we tried out a few restaurants. One was Waffles+, well we were very disappointed, the prices are to high, for two breakfast's it cost nearly $30.00 & the food wasn't so special, you don't get much for the cost & since it was not so good, now i'm glad that they don't give you much of it. We enjoy having a pot of coffee at our table, so that we don't have to wait on the slow waitress's, well this place doe not offer the coffee pot to it's patrons. The tables & chairs seating are way to compact, we had very unruly noisy people right next to us. We prefer a diner where you can actually see the cook preparing the food. The diner looks quite shabby from the outside, it's a bit better on the inside. But we will never, ever go back to this restaurant, infact while we were there, we happened to see & read numerous complaint reviews, while we were waiting to check out, which seemed to take forever, so everyone, you have been warned. read more

I stopped by today on my way back to Seattle and this place was AMAZING! Friendly guys greet you with smiles and seat you quickly. The hot cocoa with mile high whip cream was so good! This is the first cafe I've been to where the coffee is actually good! I had the plain Belgium waffles and so glad I did! They were perfection! I should also note, we called ahead to make reservations. The person on the phone apologize that they didn't take reservations on their busiest days, but he put us on hold to see if there was anything he could do. We didn't ask for him to do that, but it was really sweet that he wanted to accommodate us. The manager came on and explained the same thing the other guy did, but told us if we hurry, there were 2 tables left! Based off reviews we were interested in this place, however based off the conversations we had with staff we were sold! Just genuine, kind people looking to serve their customers. Have been coming here for at least once per week for the last six months. Absolutely my favorite waffle house in all of Spokane. The service is friendly and the owner never fails to visit your table at least once during your meal... And bring you coffee! The food is outstanding "homemade" fare and the prices are terrific. My husband and I go 1 or 2 times a month. The owner has remodeled the inside and out. The staff is friendly and fast. The food is hearty,excellant ham and bacon. Love the Eggs Benedict on Thursdays. One time I had the sausage patty and hashbrowns and they were freezer burned but no one is perfect. The waffles are good, but I do admit the maple syrup could be improved upon.
