It's a small space and very very loud inside but if you can get over that this breakfast spot definitely offers up some good food, reasonable prices and decent service. On a Saturday morning around 11am there was surprisingly no wait but I also think we got the last available table inside. Note here that they do offer outdoor seating. Anyways, we sat smack dab in the middle of the restaurant and got to observe a lot. After sitting a young lady brought waters over to the table. I asked her a quick question but she noticeably had AirPods in and didn't respond. I was just looking for the bathroom but I found it myself. It was clean and well stocked. Our waitress was nice. Attentive and present. We ordered the 2+2+2+2 and a Moons over Miami sandwich. The food took less than 10 minutes to arrive and everything was very hot. My mom and I both enjoyed our breakfast. I personally really enjoyed the French toast. I thought the portions were filling. At the end we were asked if we'd be paying by cash or card. A ticket was never presented but we were just verbally told an amount. I thought that was kind of odd. We chose cash because you get a discount. We asked again what the total was and she again just verbally told us and then took the cash. We had exact change but I still think it was weird to not have a visual. I needed sum breakfast before starting my day & wanted to try this spot. It looked clean from the outside though the parking lot entrance from 111th street was chained off. The entrance was a bit confusing. I found free street parking. Upon entering it was busy so I knew this was a good sign. Though the host, a male, greeted me in Spanish there was no issue switching to English. 2 female servers approached my table. Again spoke in Spanish but switched to English for me. I'm always confused for being Latino. I ordered coffee and a veggie skillet with egg whites, turkey sausage and pancakes. My other half ordered an egg omelette w/tomatoes, toast & orange juice. We tried this restaurant for the first time for breakfast today and the food was good, the service was just okay, and the price were inflated because they add a surcharge to the prices even before they ask you what form of payment you're going to use. Regarding the service, I had to always get the waitresses attention when I needed something because she never came back to check on us. I noticed the manager and waited staff constantly chatting and not brothering to check on their customers to see if needed anything. When I asked the waitress about the prices being different from what was listed on the menu she said that was the price we charge if you're paying with a credit card but never asked how I was going to pay the bill. They assume that most people probably aren't going to catch the discrepancy on their bills so they never bother to inform the customers about the hidden surcharges. I told the waitress that's not how your suppose to charge customers and she called the manager, who came over and said the "company" implemented this change and in "fine print" on the bill it states that this is the price if you're paying with a credit card. Then, he went on the say the "company" is suppose to be fixing this problem next week. So, I asked "What are customers supposed to do in the meantime?" and he just gave me a blank stare, and repeated what he said earlier. In addition, this placed is very poorly maintained, while we were eating water was leaking from the ceiling and when I went to bathroom it was hard to get the door to close and lock. We often visited a near by restaurant and have driven by here so many times and finally made it to check it out. We were seated immediately it was a little tight on the space side. The menu had a good food variety. I had the Mexican skillet and my fiancé got the fiesta egg Benedict. We both really liked our food. The chorizo was good and spicy eggs cooked nice. Everything was flavorful. We got the kids one egg meal my daughter didn't really eat any of it. In general the food came out in a timely manner. The pancakes are perfectly fluffy and come in many combinations. The prices are good and there's parking which is wonderful. The orange juice is also fresh squeezed. APRIL FOOL !!! Today's experience at Waffle Pancake House had to be an April fools' joke because this cannot be the standard of service for any restaurant. The first indication of the foolishness began with waitress who could not properly input orders into the tablet. Followed by: 1. After 40 minutes, 1 of 5 orders was presented and was prepared incorrectly - it was sent back. 2. The 2nd order arrived 45 minutes into the visit and was prepared correctly. 3. The 3rd order arrived 50 minutes into the visit and was served cold - it was sent back. The order was remade, however, the accompanying pancakes were never issued. 4. The 4th order arrived 52 minutes into the visit and was missing the requested avocado. 5. The 5th order arrived 54 minutes into the visit - it was sent back due because the requested meats were incorrect. The order was remade, however, it was still missing the cheese. At no time did the waitress return to our table to ensure we were having a pleasant experience or address our issues. Water was refilled AFTER one member of our party had already left the restaurant. Utensils were moved with the returned plates and I was left to find a new set. These issues were addressed with the manager who explained that he was short staffed. The proper thing to do in this situation is to inform the customers as they enter the establishment. This gives the customer the opportunity to make a decision on their time and money. The manager thereafter offered a discount was offered. What did we receive.........A WHOPPING 15%. In terms of the taste of the food, I would state that WHEN SERVED AS ORDERED AND AT THE PROPER TEMPERATURES is mediocre, at best!! The word "NEVER" cannot not amply describe my decision to revisit or recommend this restaurant. read more

Look, this was a fantastic purchase! I'll be the first to review this place because they deserve it. The portion size is fantastic for the price firstly. I also had a few accommodations and the restaurant followed through flawlessly. The omelette and potatoes were well cooked and satisfactory. Also extremely filling! The toast that they serve with it was two super thick slices of bread and I didn't expect such a big portion. For the price definitely worth it! Secondly the burger with fries and soup was also very well priced. The burger is freaking huge I barely got my mouth around it the first time. It arrived to my house super hot and ready to eat and the toppings were separate from the burgers so as to not get soggy. The fries were plentiful and the Mexican tortilla soup that I received with the burger was flavorful and also delicious. Just watch out, there's a piece of parchment between the toppings and the bread so it doesn't get soggy. Remember to remove it, and enjoy! We really used to love this place. Sadly, the quality of food seems to have gone downhill a bit. The waffles were very soft and waffles should be crisp. The crêpes had a strange grilled taste to them, and we're otherwise very very plain to the point that they were almost inedible. Asked for powdered sugar twice to try to make it have at least a bit of flavor and on the bill came I found out I was charged $1.50 per powdered sugar cup that they gave me! What restaurant does that?!? . It was no more than a tablespoon-worth. I will say that the service is friendly and very good about checking to make sure everything is OK. This is a new spot along 111th street in Mt Greenwood. Breakfast and lunch. They have not been open more than a couple of months but I really have it together. We have been 4 times. Today I had the cheeseburger which comes with fries and soup for $9.99 I believe. I'm a big fan of the burger down the street at bacon jam so I wanted to compare. The Waffle House has a solid burger. I'm not personally a fan of the fries but everyone else I know likes them. I prefer a fresh cut fry or crinkle to this style with the extra breading or crust. So I will probably avoid those . Their soup today was cream of broccoli and it was very good, finally a cream soup in the neighborhood that is thick and not watery. My daughter has had the Nutella waffle every time and loves it. On our first visit I took the servers recommendation and had the chilaquiles, and thought they were delish. I have also had the Florentine crepes and loved those. That was 3 large crepes, i was only able to eat 2 and my husband polished off the third. I'm so glad to have a restaurant close by that has a savory crepe, it seems like most places only make fruit crepes. The last thing I tried was the Benedict on with biscuit and gravy - should've taken pics of all of it lol. The service on each visit has been great, and food comes out quickly. This is an establishment that prior to May 3 2025, I had thoroughly enjoyed. The food is good, and the service was equally as sound. However this particular morning the entire opening staff let me know in no uncertain terms that my presence as well as my business were neither wanted nor appreciated. For starter they didn't open on time. This is not the end of the world... I understand slight late starts especially when I'm the first patron waiting outside. However no one came to the door and told me to step inside and that it would be a few more minutes.. I waited outside in plain sight of the lone waitress who made ZERO effort to be welcoming.. I finally stepped inside the foyer. Again she looked at me and continued to fill syrup dispensers. At this point a white man enters and she greets him with a menu and silverware. I then step inside and ask are they open. She brushes me off by saying "you can sit anywhere" ... I sit at a booth, watching this waitress accommodate the man who was clearly there after Me. After watching her get his coffee I got up and left. No effort was made to stop me which further let me know EXACTLY how they felt about Me. I have been here many times. I tip well. I have recommended the establishment to many people. I flat out didn't deserve this type of disrespect and ignorance. I know this review won't mean much to them, as they clearly didn't want me there in the first place, but I feel that people should know what this place is on. Of all the crazy days to visit for the first time, we went on Mother's Day. When we first arrived, the line was out the front door. By the time we parked the car and walked in, we were immediately seated at an available table. The place was packed and it was a bit noisy but everyone was in good spirits and the food looked amazing. The menu offered plenty of options and our server was very attentive - - the coffee never stopped (GREAT coffee, BTW)! The food portions were generous and everything was delicious. The staff was hustling the entire time and were quite friendly (we spoke with a few). When the bill arrived, they also gave lovely red roses to all of the Mom's. This was my first time at this establishment. The food was mediocre. The ambiance was a nice Chicago centered aura. But my biggest concern here was the service. I came here with a friend. We came in at 10:50. We got our waters, sat there for 30 minutes. Then the waitress came to take our orders 30 minutes after. Everyone that was seated when we first came in had already left out by time we got our food. People that came in 10 to 20 minutes after us got their food before we could even order. My first thoughts were that it was an racial issue one example is that a Hispanic couple came in 15 minutes after us, and about 2 minutes after they were seated a waitress came over and got their orders.
