First time in town and went to the Waffle House, it's what's we do, the order was completely wrong. Second time I visited and every booth in the place was covered in trash and dishes. 2 servers were sitting down and a security guard aka "Law Dawg" greeted me and said set wherever you like. I said I'd like to sit at a clean booth. No such luck. No ok e made an effort to clean a table so I left. Just left same Waffle House @01:25 3/7/24 and this team may have won me back!! Refused to serve togo at 12 am . Even though the dog was in the car . After driving 6 plus hrs to visit family in Rockmart . Even though the web page says takeout . Honestly this location has never been overly clean. Now with the idiocracies associated with COVID-19, things are not better and cleaner, there are just more places to be dirty. The cheap clear plastic shower curtains strung haphazardly between booths had "debris" of some sort splashed all over them. It was obvious an attempt had been made to clean them, but appeared to have only smeared the matter into a different pattern. You need only sit any watch the staff fiddle with their masks continuously with both clean & dirty hands. Touch their face, play with their cell phones, count money, serve food and drinks all with no hand hygiene at all. To be fair you can see basically the same thing most anywhere else as well. Walmart employees are hilarious to watch. Food was average, order was prepared correctly and served in an acceptable time frame, server never checked in after dropping off food initially. Bottom line: almost exactly what you'd expect from a Waffle House in rural Georgia A buddy of mine's words hung in the air as i rolled into Rockmart "you've gotta try Waffle House while yer there!" I had not had breakfast yet and I was getting hungry. The smell was wafting into my window and that was the final straw. I pulled in, grabbed a seat and ordered, and it's exactly what you would think it is. You hear lots of sir and ma'am, the staff are very friendly, they call you "hun" and "shuuug", James Brown on the radio with some of the staff singing along, filling the place with some southern soul - they are fast and the food is greasy and yummy. Would never recommend this place. We walked in and all the tables were dirty, we were never spoken to and the two servers were going out of their way to not look at us. Tey were too busy playing. Cook was using the same hand to move her hair out of her face that she was cooking with then coughing like crazy. We just left!!! read more

These folks are spot on with delicious diner food and nice wait staff. We visit at least once a week with the grandkids for waffles and it never disappoints. Since the pandemic, they've been having a lot of trouble finding people who want to work and so they've been having to close portions of the restaurant periodically when there simply are not enough employees to man the stations and that breaks my heart. The food is good, the wait staff are friendly and try their very best. Everyone is doing the best they can. Let's all hope that the employment outlook improves over the next few months. read more

It had been several years since I had gone to a Waffle House. I stopped by this one in Rockmart. The restaurant was horribly filthy, not just the dining area, but the kitchen as well. The dining area was covered in food and refuse, and the kitchen was piled up with cooking remnants that made it appear that it had not been cleaned in weeks. I left shortly after I entered. You would think that with three staff members, and very few customers, that someone would have cleaned things up. read more

Nice and clean, but, not for those with Heart or Circulatory Issues..Sit at the Counter sometime and watch how the Cooks bascially cook everything in a Ladle of liquid death, aka grease, including bacon and sausage..but, if your a true southern unhealthy eater you'll love it! I agree with Tom P. This Waffle House has been open for a for about 5 years or so and is as clean as the day it opened. The employees are super friendly, know their jobs and do them well. A couple of years ago, they lost one of my favorite cooks to death, and while no one can replace him, the rest do one heck of a bang up job on preparation of the food.
